Abstract

The increasingly competitive culinary industry requires businesses to understand the factors influencing purchasing decisions in order to maintain business sustainability. This study aims to analyze the effects of promotion and service quality on purchasing decisions, with trust serving as a mediating variable at Ayam Geprek Romansa, Penfui, Kupang. A quantitative approach with a survey method was employed, involving 100 female university students living in boarding houses as respondents, who were selected using purposive sampling. The selection of respondents was based on the characteristics of female boarding-house students as consumers with limited budgets, making them more likely to adopt rational and selective approaches when making spending decisions. The data were analyzed using path analysis to examine the direct and indirect effects among the variables. The results indicate that promotion has no significant effect on either trust or purchasing decisions. In contrast, service quality has a positive and significant direct effect on purchasing decisions but does not significantly affect trust. Trust also has no significant effect on purchasing decisions and does not mediate the relationship between promotion or service quality and purchasing decisions. These findings indicate that respondents’ purchasing decisions are influenced more strongly by their direct service experiences than by promotional activities or trust. This condition is further supported by respondents’ financial prudence and limited flexibility in digital payment methods, which may hinder the conversion of trust into actual purchasing decisions.

Abstract

This study examines academic cheating behavior from the perspective of micro-level social pressure, emphasizing the mediating role of self-control. The study focuses on recipients of the KIP-Kuliah scholarship with a GPA above 3.00 at Universitas Nusa Cendana, where close social relationships, particularly with family and peers, represent the primary sources of pressure. The study population consisted of all KIP-Kuliah recipients at Universitas Nusa Cendana. A total of 110 respondents were selected using accidental sampling due to the absence of a specific official population list, making participant recruitment dependent on the availability of eligible respondents during the data collection period. The data were analyzed using path analysis. The findings indicate that micro-level social pressure not only has a direct effect on academic cheating but also exerts an indirect effect by weakening students' self-control. Students are more likely to engage in academic cheating when pressure from their immediate social environment exceeds their capacity for emotional regulation and self-restraint. These findings suggest that preventive interventions should prioritize strengthening students' psychological resilience and self-control rather than relying solely on administrative sanctions. From a theoretical perspective, this study extends Fraud Triangle Theory by demonstrating that the pressure dimension in academic settings arises primarily from everyday social interactions rather than financial factors alone.

Abstract

This community service program aims to enhance teachers’ competence in developing Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS)-based assessment items to support improved performance in the Computer-Based National Assessment (ANBK) at SMP Negeri Kletek. The main problem faced by the partner school is the limited understanding of teachers in designing assessment instruments that measure higher-order thinking skills, as well as insufficient ability to develop literacy- and numeracy-oriented questions aligned with ANBK characteristics. This condition has resulted in suboptimal learning evaluation quality and limited student readiness for national assessment. The program employed a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach, emphasizing the active involvement of participants throughout all stages. The implementation included the planning stage through needs assessment and problem identification, the action stage through training and mentoring in HOTS-based item development, the observation stage through evaluation of participants’ work, and the reflection stage to identify achievements and challenges. Data were collected using pre-test and post-test, observation, and reflective discussions. The results indicate an improvement in teachers’ understanding and skills in developing HOTS-based items, as reflected in higher post-test scores. Teachers were able to design competency-based blueprints, contextual stimuli, and analytical, evaluative, and creative questions. This program effectively strengthens teachers’ professional competence and school readiness for ANBK.

Abstract

The rapid development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in higher education is not always accompanied by an improvement in students’ critical thinking skills and may even lead to cognitive dependency if not supported by adequate literacy. This study aims to analyze the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) literacy in mediating the effect of AI competence on students’ critical thinking skills in East Nusa Tenggara. This research employs a quantitative approach with an explanatory design. The sample consists of 200 students selected using incidental sampling. Data were collected through a Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling based on Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS). The results indicate that AI competence has a positive and significant effect on both critical thinking skills and AI literacy. AI literacy also has a positive and significant effect on critical thinking skills. Furthermore, AI literacy significantly mediates the relationship between AI competence and critical thinking skills, indicating partial mediation in the research model. These findings suggest that mastery of AI does not automatically enhance critical thinking skills without adequate AI literacy. Therefore, the implications of this study highlight the importance of integrating AI competence and literacy into higher education curricula through learning approaches that emphasize analytical, reflective, and ethical dimensions to optimize the development of students’ critical thinking skills in the era of digital transformation.

Abstract

Education plays an important role in improving the quality of human resources through the achievement of optimal learning outcomes. However, students' learning outcomes in Economics at SMA Negeri 6 Kupang remain low, highlighting the need to examine internal factors, particularly learning interest and learning discipline. This study aims to analyze the effects of learning interest and learning discipline on the learning outcomes of tenth-grade students. The study is based on Bloom's cognitive learning theory, which explains that learning outcomes are influenced by internal factors. This research employed a quantitative approach with a causal associative design. The population consisted of 398 tenth-grade students, with a sample of 170 students selected using proportionate stratified random sampling. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression, t-tests, F-tests, and the coefficient of determination. The results indicate that learning interest has a negative and insignificant effect on learning outcomes (X₁ = −0.025; p = 0.291), whereas learning discipline has a positive and significant effect on learning outcomes (X₂ = 0.940; p < 0.001). Simultaneously, both variables have a significant effect on learning outcomes (F = 105.767). It is concluded that learning discipline is the most dominant factor in improving students' learning outcomes.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengadopsi pendekatan kuantitatif dengan melibatkan 100 partisipan yang dipilih melalui teknik purposive sampling, serta menerapkan analisis regresi linear berganda sebagai metode pengolahan data. Hasil analisis mengungkapkan bahwa self-esteem dan intensitas penggunaan media sosial secara simultan memberikan pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap FoMO. Akan tetapi, pengujian secara parsial menunjukkan bahwa self-esteem tidak menghasilkan dampak yang signifikan terhadap FoMO, sedangkan intensitas penggunaan media sosial terbukti memberikan pengaruh positif yang signifikan. Koefisien determinasi (R²) sebesar 13,5% mengindikasikan bahwa kedua variabel prediktor tersebut hanya mampu menjelaskan proporsi kecil dari varians FoMO, sehingga variabel-variabel eksternal di luar cakupan penelitian ini berperan lebih dominan dalam memengaruhi fenomena tersebut.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh fasilitas belajar dan teman sebaya terhadap hasil belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran Kewirausahaan di SMK Kristen Huetalan. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain penelitian asosiatif. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh siswa SMK Kristen Huetalan, dengan sampel sebanyak 100 siswa yang dipilih menggunakan teknik simple random sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui penyebaran kuesioner menggunakan skala Likert. Data dianalisis menggunakan regresi linear berganda yang didukung oleh uji parsial (uji t), uji simultan (uji F), dan koefisien determinasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa fasilitas belajar berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap hasil belajar siswa. Teman sebaya juga berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap hasil belajar siswa. Selain itu, fasilitas belajar dan teman sebaya secara simultan berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap hasil belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran Kewirausahaan. Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa ketersediaan fasilitas belajar yang memadai serta lingkungan pergaulan teman sebaya yang mendukung berperan penting dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa. Oleh karena itu, sekolah perlu mengoptimalkan penyediaan fasilitas pembelajaran dan menciptakan lingkungan sosial yang kondusif guna mendukung peningkatan prestasi akademik siswa.
