Abstract

[ENGLISH] The experiment was conducted in the Field Research, in Kumendung village, Muncar, Banyuwangi from November 2012 until February 2013. The objectives of the study was to evaluate the effect of NPK fertilizer in some accession of maize on it’s growth and production. It’s also evaluate the protein content of the accession under different fertilizer treatment. The experiment was set up as a split plot design with three replications. Main plot were NPK aplication rates (200, 300, 400 kg NPK ha-1) and the sub-plots were accesion number ( V1 = Srikandi Kuning x Manado Merah ; V2 = Bisma x Srikandi Kuning ; V3 = Srikandi Kuning x Bisma ; and V4 = Bisma x Manado Merah). An split plot statistical analysis of varience (ANOVA) and Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT) at 5 % level of probability according to Hanafiah, (2005) was realized using the excel program. Growth and yield parameters recorded at different stages of crop growth and development. There were plant height, leaves number above the ear, leaves number under the ear, tassel emergence, silk emergence, physiologically ripe age, ear lenghth, ear weight, ear circumference, ear weight per plot, kernel weight, kernel weight per plot, 100-grain weight, and protein content. The result showed that no significant different affected by the defferent NPK application rates on these accession. Base on the character selection, the yielding of all accession were higher than Bisma variety. Content of the accession were 11,14 ; 10,25 ; 10,95 ; and 10,10 mg g-1 for V1, V2, V3, and V4, respectively. Keywords: NPK Fertilizer; Maize accession; Production [INDONESIAN] Penelitian dilakukan di lahan Desa Kumendung Kecamatan Muncar Kabupaten Banyuwangi pada bulan November 2012 hingga Febuari 2013. Tujuan dari percobaan ini adalah untuk mengevaluasi pengaruh pupuk NPK terhadap pertumbuhan dan produksi beberapa Aksesi jagung, dan mengevaluasi kadar protein yang terkandung didalamnya. Percobaan menggunakan Rancangan Split Plot dengan tiga ulangan. Petak utama adalah Pupuk NPK (200, 300, 400 kg NPK ha-1) dan sub-plot adalah aksesi jagung (V1 = Srikandi Kuning x Manado Merah, V2 = Bisma x Srikandi Kuning, V3 = Srikandi Kuning x Bisma, dan V4 = Bisma x Manado Merah). Hasil percobaan dianalisis dengan menggunakan analisis varian (ANOVA) dan Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT) pada taraf α 5% (Hanafiah, 2005) dengan menggunakan program excel. Parameter pengamatan meliputi tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun atas dan dibawah tongkol jagung, umur berbunga jantan, umur berbungan betina, umur masak fisiologis, berat tongkol per petak (kg), berat pipilan per petak (kg), berat tongkol per tanaman (g), panjang tongkol isi (cm), lingkar tongkol (cm), berat 100 biji per tanaman (g), dan kandungan protein biji jagung (mg g-1). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tidak ada perbedaan yang nyata antar perlakuan yang dicobakan pada parameter yang diamati. Perlakuan penambahan pupuk NPK tidak menunjukkan pengaruh yang nyata pada semua parameter. Berdasarkan pemilihan karakter, semua aksesi terpilih lebih tinggi dibanding varietas Bisma. Kandungan protein rata-rata aksesi yang diuji yaitu 11,14 ; 10,25 ; 10,95 ; dan 10,10 mg g-1 masing-masing untuk V1, V2, V3, dan V4. Abstract

Weather conditions often unstable changed and increase the floods of agricultural land. Land which was originally drought will experience wetness and need variety of a plant that wetness tolerant. This study were aimed to get cassava that wet tolerant and to study the morphological, physiological characters of cassava grown on wetness land. The experiment was conducted based on factorial random plot design that consisting two factors with five replications. The first factor were four varieties namely: V1 = Daun Ganja; V2 = Sawi Ketan; V3 = Kasesat Beracun; V4 = Gajah. The second factor was wet treatment consisting of 2 the condition that were K0 = as control, media with 100% field capacity; K1 = as wet treatment by watering of media maintain on -10 cm from media surface. The difference between treatments tested with Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT) with the probability 5%. Wet treatment started when plant aged was 2 months after planting, during eight weeks. The observations on variables based on morphological and physiological characters. Result showed that every varieties give the different response on wet treatment. Best response on wet tolerant variety shown by variety code of V2 (Sawi Ketan) were indicated by plant height, total leaf number produced, stem diameter, fresh weight of root, dry weight of root, fresh weight of shoot, dry weight of shoot, photosynthesis index, stomata conductivity and root volume.

Abstract

The content of cauliflower is very beneficial for the human body, it encourages many people to consume these plants. But it isn’t matched by the amount of production, productivity and harvesting area of cauliflower plants whose development is fluctuating and tends to decrease, so that cultivation innovations are needed in terms of the varieties and fertilizers used. The purpose of this experiment was to determine the response and results of various types of NPK compound fertilizer in the lowland. The trial was conducted in Kalirejo Village, Dringu Subdistrict, Probolinggo. Manufacturing time in February until May 2018. The experiment used a 4 x 4 factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD) model and repeated three times. The first factor is the Cauliflower varieties, namely PM 126 F1 (V1), Orient (V2), Diamond 40 (V3), and Holly (V4). The second factor is the dose of NPK compound fertilizer, namely 0 (P0), 3.72 (P1), 7.44 (P2) and 11.16 grams / plant (P3). The results of the experiment showed that the response between cauliflower varieties and NPK compound fertilizer had a significant effect on the parameters of weight of cauliflower with the best combination of Diamond 40 varieties with NPK 7.44 grams / plant compound fertilizer dosage (V3P2). Orient varieties provide the best response to growth and yield of cauliflower. The dosage of compound fertilizer NPK 7.44 grams / plant can increase the growth and yield of cauliflower

Abstract

The business expansion of sugarcane can be done using marginal land, such as wet land. This study attempted to get the right doses of ZA fertilizer applied to several sugarcane cultivars, which are tolerant to flooding in two different locations. The research was carried out in Jubung Agrotechnopark garden,  University of Jember and seed gardens of Dewisri Bondowoso, from November 2015 to November 2016. The experiment was arranged in factorial randomized complete block design. The first factor was the doses of ZA fertilizer, consisting of 3 levels of treatment, i.e. 0 kg.ha-1 (without ZA fertilizer), 500 kg.ha-1 and 1000 kg.ha-1. The second factor was 4 sugarcane cultivars,  consisting of flood-tolerant sugarcane cultivars from 2014 screening result, i.e. PSJT 941, Bulu Lawang, PS 865 and Kidang Kencana. The results showed that the application of ZA fertilizer at 1000 kg.ha-1 affected the height of stems, the number of tillers, diameter of the stem and the number of segments. Meanwhile, the application of ZA fertilizer at 500 kg.ha-1 affected the number of leaves, fresh weight of shoots, dry weight of shoots, fresh weight of roots, dry weight of roots, brix content, and the content of sucrose and reducing sugar. Flood-tolerant sugarcane cultivars are shown by the highest brix and sucrose fertilizer, observed in  PS 865, Bulu Lawang, PSJT 941, and Kidang Kencana, sequentially. The highest content of reducing sugar was found in PSJT 941, PS 865, Kidang Kencana, and Bulu Lawang, successively.

Abstract

The increase of soybean (Glycine max) production, particularly in the drought-stricken areas, can be done by improving cultivation techniques. Trichoderma sp. fungus is expected to increase the efficiency of the root function of soybean plants in absorbing water, especially in drought conditions. This experiment aimed to examine the effect of drought stress levels with different Trichoderma sp. applications on the growth and yield of soybeans. The experiment was carried out in a plastic house using a two-factorials Completely Randomized Design (CRD). The first factor was the administration of Trichoderma harzianum with four dosage levels, namely T0 (0 grams), T1 (20 grams), T2 (40 grams), and T3 (60 grams). The second factor was three drought stress levels, namely C1 (40%KL), C2 (60%KL), and C3 (80%KL). Data analysis employed the analysis of variance and follow-up test of DMRT at 5% level if there was an interaction between the two treatment factors. Observation variables included plant height, root length, number of flowers, number of productive branches, proline, root wet weight, the weight of biomass, number of effective root nodules, relative growth rate, number of pods, number of pithy pods, number of empty pods, pod weight, and seed weight. The results implied that the effect of the tested drought stress level was still tolerant at 60% KL with the application of Trichoderma sp. at a dose of 40 grams. There was an interaction between the effect of dosage of Trichoderma sp. and drought stress level on plant height and root length and proline content and biomass weight of soybean plants at 81 DAP. Peningkatan produksi kedelai utamanya pada lahan tercekam kekeringan dapat dilakukan melalui perbaikan teknik budidaya. Pemanfaatanjamur Trichodermasp. diharapkan dapat meningkatkan efisiensi fungsi perakaran tanaman kedelai dalam menyerap air khususnya pada kondisi kekeringan. Percobaan ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh tingkat cekaman kekeringan dengan aplikasi Trichodermasp. yang berbeda terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman kedelai. Percobaan dilakukan di rumah plastik dengan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) faktorial dengan dua faktor, faktor pertama pemberian dosis Trichoderma harzianum dengan empat taraf: T0 (0 gram), T1 (20 gram), T2 (40 gram), dan T3 (60 gram) dan faktor kedua tingkat cekaman kekeringan dengan tiga taraf: C1 (40%KL), C2 (60%KL) dan C3 (80%KL).  Analisa data menggunakan analisis sidik ragam dan uji lanjut DMRT Taraf 5% jika terdapat interaksi pada dua faktor perlakuan. Variabel pengamatan meliputi tinggi tanaman, panjang akar, jumlah bunga, jumlah cabang produktif, prolin, berat basah akar, berat biomassa, jumlah bintil akar efektif, laju pertumbuhan relatif, jumlah polong, jumlah polong bernas, jumlah polong hampa, berat polong dan berat biji. Hasil percobaan menunjukkan pengaruh tingkat cekaman kekeringan yang diujikan masih toleran pada 60% KL dengan aplikasi Trichodermasp.  pada dosis 40gram. Terdapat interaksi antara pengaruh dosisTrichodermasp. dan cekaman kekeringan terhadap tinggi tanaman dan panjang akar serta kandungan prolin dan berat biomassa tanaman kedelai pada umur 81 HST.

Abstract

Arjasa village has productive land for agriculture. In the rainy season, the plants grow thick, which can disturb the environment. The observation result was found kolesom plant. Kolesom has economic value because many benefits, but worthless in the Arjasa village. Kolesom is worthless because residents do not know the benefits. Efforts are made through several activities. This activity requires two years because the kolesom harvest time. The first year there are socialization for introduction, training on kolesom cultivation, and the second year is continued with the commercialization of the kolesom. In this article, we will discuss the activities of the first year in the form of socialization and training on kolesom cultivation using stem-cutting techniques. The socialization activities results are in the form of increased knowledge regarding the benefits and cultivation of the kolesom. Some evidence is that the community, started planting in the yard and the posyandu in Arjasa village began planting around the posyandu. In this activity, evidence was obtained that the determining factor for the success of the cultivation of stem cutting techniques at the kolesom was the selection of stems which had to be reddish-brown in color, placing the stems in soil media could not be reversed because the roots did not grow.

Abstract

Dusun Kerajan Timur Desa Sumberjati Kecamatan Tempeh Kabupaten Lumajang memiliki potensi besar sebagai sentra penghasil lele karena rata rata penduduk di dusun Kerajan Timur setip rumah memiliki kola mikan lele dengan ukuran 8x4 meter. Permasalahan yang sering dialami oleh masyarakat pakan lele cenderung mahal dan harga lele terkadang murah sehingga masyarakat membutuhkan solusi untuk menekan penggunaan pakan lele dengan harga yang relative mahal tersebut. Inisiatif untuk memanfaatkan limbah ampas tahu, tulang ikan dan Azolla sebagai pakan alternative karena bahan bahan tersebut mudah untuk di dapatkan mengingat penduduk dusun Kerajan Tengah merupakan pengrajin tahu dan pedagang ikan. Setelah pelatihan selesai dilakukan akhirnya para pembudidaya lele mulai menggunakan pakan alternatif berbahan dasar ampas tahu, tulang ikan tongkol dan azolla dengan ditambahkan bongkol jagung sebagai pakan selingan yang ekonomis untuk ikan lele yang di budidayakannya sehingga mereka memperoleh keuntungan sosial yakni mengurangi limbah ampastahu dan tulang ikan yang tidak termanfaatkan dan keuntungan ekonomi berupa pengeluaran untuk pakan yang semakin kecil sehingga berpotensi memperoleh penghasilan yang lebih besar. Selain itu dari pelatihan yang sudah dilakukan terbentuk satu kelompok sentra pakan lele alternatif sebagai basis produksi pakan yang bertempat di rumah bapak Purwanto.

Abstract

Kolesom Jawa merupakan tanaman herbal yang memiliki banyak kasiat bagi Kesehatan tubuh manusia sehingga memiliki harga yang tinggi ketika telah menjadi produk siap saji. Kolesom yang bernilai tinggi menjadi tidak bernilai diantara warga di desa Arjasa dan sekitarnya, sehingga hal ini perlu diidentifikasi penyebab permasalahan itu terjadi. Kolesom Jawa ini bisa menjadi peluang usaha baru bagi ibu rumah tangga dimasa pandemic untuk memperoleh tambahan penghasilan dari nilai ekonomi olahan tanaman kolesom Jawa. Identifikasi permasalahan suatu kondisi di dalam lingkungan dapat menggunakan berbagai macam metode.untuk mengetahui akar masalahnya sehingga bisa memperoleh solusi yang tepat. Pada kegiatan ini dilakukan analisa akar masalah menggunakan root couse analysis dengan menggunakan Teknik fishbone dan teknik 5 whys. Penerepan RCA pada penelitian ini menggunakan dua teknik yaitu teknik fishbone menggunakan kategori sehingga dapat digunakan sebagai arahan kemudian 5 why diagram untuk membantu mengidentifikasi faktor penyebabnya sehingga akar masalah mengerucut. Hasil dari kegiatan ini diperoleh bahwa Identifikasi akar masalah diperoleh dari kegiatan analisis deskripsi kualitatif melalui survey wawancara kemudian dianalisis menggunakan Teknik fishbone untuk memperoleh penyebab terjadinya masalah yang dihadapi. Teknik fishbone ini sebagai arahan kemudian dilanjutkan dengan teknik 5 whys karena dapat menunjukkan hubungan kausal sebab akibat, dan mampu menggabungkan cara berpikir aksi maupun kondisi. Akar masalah yang didapat adalah kurangnya sarana dan prasarana sebagai pusat informasi pengembangan warga. Solusi yang dilakukan adalah dalam bentuk penyuluhan berupa solusi dan praktek sebagai wadah untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan warga.

Abstract

Triploid watermelon seeds are produced from the crossing between watermelon diploid as males and tetraploid watermelons as females. The success of triploid seed formation is influenced by the success of pollination determined by pollen viability which is characterized by the period of anthesis and peptic receptivity by the time of pollination. This experiment was conducted in Jember  on 2018. The Factorial Randomized Block Design, 3x3  with three replications, was concucted to determine the effect of male anthesis period and pollination time on the success rate of seedless watermelon seed formation. The results showed that no significant interaction of the male anthesis period and the time of pollination effect. Pollens harvested during pre anthesis give the best pollination results. On the other hand, the best pollination can be done at 07.30 – 08.30 am  Keywords: anthesis, pollination, seeds, seedless watermelon.

Abstract

Pollen management is one of the important factors in the production of hybrid seeds. The main obstacle in the seed production of hybrid watermelon are the appearance of the flowers do not coincide, and limited the availability of pollen with high viability. This research aims to the of dosage of boron and pollen harvesting time the pollen production and viability of pollen watermelon male parent. The research was done on a farm Seed Production Research Land of PT. Benih Citra Asia, sub-district Ajung, districts Jember and done with a random group of factorial design of experiments, with the first factor: 4 level doses of boron, and the second factor: 3 time harvesting the pollen, with each combination treatment is repeated as many as three times. The research result of which demonstrate of application of boron 1,0 kg ha-1 and time of harvesting the pollen pre-anthesis produces the successs of pollination to 100%. The boron dosage 1 kg ha-1 is able to give the age of male flowers faster which is 25,89 DAP, and the age of female flowers is faster which is 31,67 DAP, and produces a higher fruit set that is 94,44%.
