Abstract

The Pantar Strait with its coral reef ecosystem has encouraged many tourists to dive since the last decade. At least, ten coral reef ecosystem sites in Pantar Strait have been indicated as having potential for marine tourism, such as Munaseli Beach, Obisinga Beach, Umangdang Beach, Alor Eco Dive Resort, Ternate Island, Bakalang Beach, Pura Diving Spot, Nuhakepa Diving Spot, Pasir Putih Beach, and Savu Alor. This study illustrated the annual dynamics of ocean currents in Pantar Strait, subsequently assessing the safety rate of commercial diving at those tourism sites in each season. A three-dimensional hydrodynamic model was generated by the Delft3d flow module to illustrate the annual ocean current dynamic in the Pantar Strait. The safety assessment for marine tourism was classified into 3 levels (safe, alert, and dangerous). Ocean currents exceed maximum velocities in the west season. Various marine tourism sites close to steep slopes were not recommended for commercial diving. They are Munaseli Beach, Obisinga Beach, Pura Diving Spot, and Pasir Putih Beach. These sites experienced an increase in average currents that exceeded the safe threshold each season. Alor Eco Dive Resort was designated as the safest marine tourism, which showed a safe level for either average or maximum ocean currents in each season. Nuhakepa Diving Spot was designated as the second safest marine tourism. Several tourist sites that showed the danger of commercial diving in the west season were Umangdang Beach and Savu Alor. Many tourism sites showed an alert current for commercial diving in Springtide. Therefore, tourists are advised to avoid diving during the spring tide.

Abstract

Beras premium di Sumatera Barat memiliki harga yang tinggi sehinga berkontribusi terhadap inflasi. Sumatera Barat memiliki produksi beras yang tinggi diikuti dengan harga beras premium yang tinggi, hal ini disebabkan oleh preferensi konsumen yang tiggi terhadap beras premium Sumatera Barat sehingga di beberapa Kabupaten atau Kota di Sumatera Barat memasok beras premium ke daerah lain, baik dalam provinsi maupun luar provinsi Sumatera Barat dengan harga yang bebas HET. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk menganalisis hubungan kausalitas, integrasi pasar, dan respon terhadap shock di 3 Kabupaten dan Kota di Sumatera Barat. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode analisa Vektor Error Correction Model (VECM) dengan alat analisis Eviews 10. Data yang digunakan adalah harga beras premium tingkat eceran sejak Januari 2017 hingga Agustus 2023. Hasil penelitian ini adalah terdapat hubungan kausalitas satu arah yang terjadi antara Kota Padang dengan Kabupaten Tanah Datar, dimana Kabupaten Tanah datar sebagai pasar acuan dan Kota Padang sebagai pasar pengikut dan hubungan kausalitas satu arah antara Kota Padang dengan Kabupaten Solok, dimana Kabupaten Solok sebagai pasar acuan dan Kota Padang sebagai pasar pengikut. Ketiga daerah terintegrasi secara jangka panjang dan jangka pendek. Respon Kota Padang terhadap shock di Kabupaten Solok mencapai keseimbangan pada periode ketujuh dan terhadap Kabupaten Tanah Datar pada periode kelima. Respon Kabupaten Tanah Datar terhadap shock di Kota Padang mencapai keseimbangan pada periode kesembilan dan terhadap Kabupaten Solok pada periode kesepuluh. Respon Kabupaten Solok terhadap shock di Kota Padang mencapai keseimbangan pada periode ketujuh dan terhadap Kabupaten Tanah Datar pada periode keeanam.

Abstract

This community service activity was designed to address the economic challenges faced by fishermen in Sungsang II Village, Banyuasin II Regency, South Sumatra Province. Fishermen are often disrupted by weather conditions, such as the west monsoon or rainy season, which limit fishing activities and negatively impact their income. This program involved 48 fishermen and two partners, intending to increase the knowledge and creativity of the participants regarding alternative fisheries. The presentation covered aquaculture knowledge and the various organisms involved in it. In-depth explanations were also provided on silvofishery and aquaponics methods as alternatives to enhance income. Additionally, this activity highlighted potential local organisms that could serve as cultivation species. The program was carried out in several stages: preparation, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation. The evaluation was conducted to assess the success of the dissemination based on participants’ enthusiasm and the increase in knowledge gained. The results indicated that the program successfully achieved its intended objectives, evidenced by the participants' enthusiasm and a 45% increase in their understanding. However, the skepticism of some participants and limited capital for cultivation posed challenges to the dissemination process. The community's interest in and understanding of the introduced cultivation methods form the basis for the future, particularly focusing on silvofishery and aquaponics techniques. Recommendations for applying these cultivation methods will be formulated as follow-up steps to ensure the sustainability and positive impact of this initiative. Through this approach, it is hoped that the community can attain greater economic stability and enhanced environmental sustainability.

Abstract

Farming analysis is important to determine the allocation of resource use on a farm. This research aims to describe the implementation of red chili cultivation techniques and analyze the income and profits of red chili farming in Lembah Gumanti District, Solok Regency. The method used in this research is the descriptive method. The number of samples is determined by quota, while the sampling method is purposive. The research results show that farmers carry out chili cultivation after shallot cultivation. Cultivation techniques begin with land processing (only repairing the beds), planting, weeding, inserting, installing stakes, fertilizing, controlling pests and diseases, harvesting, and post-harvest. Income analysis shows an average income of IDR 52,553,499.10/Land area/Planting Season or IDR 153,541,311.14/ha/Planting Season with a profit of IDR 39,570,967.01/Land area/Planting Season or IDR 89,884,691.45/ha/Planting Season. Farming efficiency through the R/C ratio obtains profitable results of IDR 2.046 from each unit of input used in red chili farming. It shows that red chili farming is worth pursuing. Keywords: Farming, red chilies, cultivation techniques, income, profits INTISARIAnalisis usahatani penting dilakukan untuk mengetahui alokasi penggunaan sumberdaya pada sebuah usahatani. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pelaksanaan teknik budidaya cabai merah dan menganalisis pendapatan serta keuntungan pada usahatani cabai merah di Kecamatan Lembah Gumanti Kabupaten Solok. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif.  Jumlah sampel ditetapkan secara kuota, sedangkan metode pengambilan sampelnya secara purposive. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa budidaya cabai dilakukan petani setelah budidaya bawang merah. Teknik budidaya diawali dengan pengolahan lahan (hanya memperbaiki bedengan), penanaman, penyiangan, penyisipan, pemasangan ajir, pemupukan, pengendalian hama dan penyakit, panen dan pasca panen. Analisis pendapatan memperlihatkan pendapatan rata-rata sebesar Rp 52.553.499,10/LL/MT atau Rp 153.541.311,14/ha/MT dengan keuntungan sebesar Rp 39.570.967,01/LL/MT atau Rp 89.884.691,45/ha/MT. Efisiensi usahatani melalui R/C ratio mendapatkan hasil yang menguntungkan yaitu sebesar 2,046 rupiah dari setiap satuan input yang digunakan dalam usahatani cabai merah.  Hal ini memperlihatkan bahwa usahatani cabai merah layak untuk diusahakan. Abstract

Maspari Island is the only small outermost island located in the southern part of Bangka Strait, included in the coastal area of Ogan Komering Ilir Regency, South Sumatra. The island harbors a mangrove ecosystem that is believed to play a significant role in climate change mitigation through carbon storage. This study aims to identify mangrove species and measure carbon stock estimates in upper-stand biomass, lower-stand/root biomass, and sediment. Identification of mangrove species using a vegetation analysis approach. Transect plots measuring 10 m × 10 m were parallel to the coastline at 6 observation station points. The diameter of vegetation at the tree and sapling levels was measured at a height of 1.3 m from the ground surface. Carbon stock estimates were calculated using allometric equations and sediment carbon analysis methods. The results identified seven mangrove species: Avicennia marina, Bruguiera sexangula, Ceriops tagal, Excoecaria agallocha, Rhizophora apiculata, Rhizophora stylosa, and Sonneratia alba. Estimated carbon stocks of mangrove stands at all stations reached 3,443.42 tC/ha, with an average of 573.90 tC/ha, while carbon stocks in roots amounted to 862.96 tC/ha, with an average of 143.83 tC/ha. The total estimated carbon stock of mangrove sediment at all stations was 240.71 tC/ha, with an average of 40.12 MgC/ha. Sonneratia alba provided the highest carbon absorption, reaching 3,059 tC/ha for the upper stand and 697.80 tC/ha for the lower stand. Considering the contribution of the carbon storage potential in Maspari Island, this study suggests extending the investigation of the mangrove carbon fixation in other small islands in Indonesia, especially for the S. alba species.   Keywords: carbon stock, mangrove, Maspari Island, sediment, carbon stock, Sonneratia alba

Abstract

Belajar merupakan suatu bentuk kegiatan mental yang melibatkan kemampuan otak dalam menyerap, mengolah dan menyampaikan informasi. Untuk mengingat apa yang telah diajarkan, otak tentunya haus dapat mengolah informasi tersebut dan memahaminya. Setiap manusia yang dilahirkan memiliki karakteristik kemampuan otak yang berbeda-beda dalam menyerap, mengolah dan menyampaikan informasi. Dalam proses belajar mengajar, banyak hal yang akan hilang karena sifat tidak permanen, hal ini terjadi apabila kegiatan belajar tidak sesuai dengan modalitasnya yang atinya cara menyerap informasi melalui indera yang dimiliki. Berbagai bentuk cara belajar yang disebut dengan gaya belajar, atau bias disebut dengan modalitas belajar. Setiap pelajar memiliki gaya belajarnya sendiri. Ada tiga modalitas proses belajar yang mendidik, yaitu visual, auditori dan kinestetik. Penyerapan informasi bergantung pada cara orang mengusahakannya. Jika seorang pelajar menangkap informasi atau matei sesuai dengan tipe gaya belajarnya, maka tidak aka nada pelajaran yang sulit. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah membuat suatu aplikasi yang mampu menentukan gaya belajar siswa menggunakan metode forward chaining sehingga nantinya dengan aplikasi kita dapat menentukan gaya belajar siswa yang bersangkutan.

Abstract

Rumput laut memiliki banyak manfaat potensial yang dapat dikembangkan. Rumput laut berkontribusi secara positif terhadap kebutuhan dan konsumsi nutrisi manusia serta dapat diolah dan dimanfaatkan sebagai produk inovatif yang memiliki nilai tambah tertentu, salah satunya sebagai bahan film bioplastik yang edible untuk mengurangi penggunaan kemasan plastik. Kelebihan edible film yang dibuat dari hidrokoloid diantaranya memiliki kemampuan yang baik untuk melindungi produk terhadap oksigen, karbondioksida, dan lipida serta memiliki sifat mekanis yang diinginkan dan meningkatkan kesatuan struktur produk. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menganalisis karakteristik sifat fisik dan kimia edible film rumput laut Gracilaria sp. yang dikoleksi dari Perairan Pantai Selatan Gunung Kidul, Yogyakarta. Metode pengujian berupa preparasi sampel, pembuatan edible film, dan analisis karakteristik serta analisis Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan nilai ketebalan tertinggi 234 m, kuat tarik 17,15 N/mm2, elongasi 2,91%. Analisis termal didapatkan kadar air yang hilang 19,97% dan sisa residu abu 30,81%.Keywords: Bioplastik, Edible Film, TGA, Hidrokoloid, Gracilaria sp

Abstract

Mangrove crab (Scylla serrata) as one of the crustacean species, has a variety of bioactive compounds that can be utilized in the field of pharmacology. Antioxidant compounds act as therapeutic agents against degenerative diseases. Banyuasin waters have mangrove vegetation with associated marine organisms that have the potential to be studied for bioactive compounds. This study aims to identify the phytochemical profile quantitatively and qualitatively, samples were collected from mud flats near mangrove ecosystems in Banyuasin waters, South Sumatra. Samples were tested for antioxidant activity using the DPPH test, and IC50 values, qualitative phytochemical identification, and phytochemical profiles were calculated using Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS) analysis. Based on the results of antioxidant testing, the IC50 value of S. serrata extract is 2.25 ppm, the sample is included in the category of very strong antioxidants. Phytochemical test results showed that the compound is thought to contain antioxidant activity from flavonoids and triterpenoids. GC-MS analysis detected major compound groups of alkaloids, purines, and vitamins. Minor compound groups detected amines, terpenoids, monosaccharides, amino acids, fatty acids, silanes, formamides, heterocycles, carboxylic acids, aminoglycosides, naphthalene derivatives, nitriles, amides, glycosides, and peptides. S. serrata extract shows very strong antioxidant activity, with major compounds such as alkaloids, purines, and vitamins. S. serrata extract detected compounds that have been reported as anti-inflammatory, anticancer, antimicrobial, and antiviral. These findings highlight the pharmaceutical potential of S. serrata as a source of bioactive compounds. The results of this study provide valuable information for the development of alternative medicines derived from marine organisms.

Abstract

Bunga telang memiliki kandungan antosianin yang bermanfaat bagi kesehatan dan dapat dikembangkan sebagai produk fungsional yaitu produk telang jeniper, susu bunga telang dan puding bunga telang. Tujuan pengabdian masyarakat yaitu meningkatkan wawasan dan keterampilan dalam pengelolahan bunga telang sebagai produk fungsional yaitu produk telang jeniper, susu bunga telang dan puding bunga telang. Mitra dalam kegiatan ini adalah masyarakat desa Ulak Kerbau Baru yang diikuti oleh 20 orang. Kegiatan yang dilakukan meliputi pemberdayaan, penyuluhan dan pelatihan kepada masyarakat dan pemberian materi kepada mahasiswa manfaat bunga telang serta peningkatan keterampilan terkait dengan pengelolahan bunga telang sebagai produk fungsional. Evaluasi dari kegiatan pengabdian yang dilakukan adalah melihat peningkatan nilai pretest dan postest dan peningkatan keterampilan dalam pengelolahan bunga telang menjadi produk fungsional yang dapat bermanfaat bagi kesehatan. Berdasarkan nilai pretest (71,75) dan nilai postest (81) terjadi peningkatan yang berarti pengabdian masyarakat yang dilakukan ini dapat menambah wawasan dan keterapilan masyarakat desa Ulak Kerbau Baru. Butterfly pea flowers contain anthocyanins which are beneficial for health and can be developed as functional products, namely butterfly pea products, butterfly pea milk, and butterfly pea flower pudding. Community service aims to improve community insight and skills in processing butterfly pea flowers as functional products, namely butterfly pea products, butterfly pea milk, and butterfly pea flower pudding. The partners in this activity are the Ulak Kerbau Baru village community, which 20 people attend. The activities include empowerment, counseling, training the community, and providing materials to students on the benefits of butterfly pea flowers and improving skills related to processing butterfly pea flowers as functional products. Evaluation of the community service activities is to see the increase in pretest and post-test scores and the increase in skills in processing butterfly pea flowers into functional products that can benefit health. Based on the pretest value (71.75) and post-test value (81), there was a significant increase in the community service carried out, which can increase the insight and skills of the Ulak Kerbau Baru village community.

Abstract

The problem raised in this study is the influence of children's story comics media on the ability to write narrative texts for fifth grade students at SDN 1 Kediri Selatan in the 2020/2021 school year. The aim is to determine the effect of children's story comics media on the ability to write narrative texts for fifth grade students at SDN 1 Kediri Selatan in the 2020/2021 school year. The results of this study are expected to be useful theoretically and practically. The concept used in this research is the media of children's story comics and writing skills. This type of research is a quantitative descriptive study, the data sampling technique is the Simple Random Sampling technique (aims to take several samples from several populations). The data collection technique used a written test. Hypothesis testing was carried out using the T test with the help of SPSS version 25. The results showed that the lowest value of the experimental pretest was 37 while the highest was 54 and the lowest was for the control class 39 and the highest was 48, then for the experimental posttest, the lowest value was 76 and the highest score was 85. , for the posttest control class the lowest score is 80 and the highest is 92. This shows that there is an influence of children's story comics media on the ability to write narrative texts for the fifth grade students of SDN 1 Kediri Selatan in the 2020/2021 school year.
