Abstract

Reading interest is one of the problems that occur by college students, because college students nowadays play more on gadgets than read. The low interest in reading in students is due to lack of reading time, lack of visits to libraries to borrow books or read books, and the lack of books owned by college students or lecturers who rarely give assignments, telling  college students to buy books to read so that students lack reading. The formulation of the problems discussed in this study were the factors that influenced the reading interest of FISIP Universitas Riau college students and how the reading interest of the  Universitas Riau FISIP college students. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors that affect students' reading interest and to determine the level of reading interest among students of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences Universitas Riau. The theory used in this research is the structural functionalism theory of Talcon Parsons adaptation, goal, integration, and latent patent maintenance. Data analysis used a descriptive method with a quantitative approach, the data collection technique in this study was proportional random sampling, that is, the population has the same opportunity to be the sample. The sampling technique used the Slovin formula, while the respondents in this study were 91 college students. From the results of this study it can be concluded that the factors that influence the reading interest of FISIP Universitas Riau students with the high category are latent factors (norms) and the low ones are in the objective factors and the level of reading interest of FISIP students of Universitas Riau is categorized as low.   Keywords : Interest, Reading, College Student

Abstract

This paper examines specifically in the life of flower sellers at public cemeteries and want to know social capital which the florist uses for his survival when he gets into trouble, as for the research location this a public cemetery in Payung Sekaki District Pekanbaru City. The method used in this study is to use descriptive qualitative method. In this study researcher use data collection techniques observations, interviews, and documentaries. Where researcher in this study discovered some of the social capital that the floris uses in meeting their life needs, these include the first three social capitals, social networks, social norm, and trust. Public florist’s social network Payung Sekaki Districts to bond wicheach otherto create a nice, peaceful environment around starting, exchange information on where to sell flowers, even exchange ideas about their personal lives. Social norm are a set of rules that are expected to be obeyed and followed by the on-shite flower seller although the rule is not written down but is expected thst each seller not trespassing, as an example of pricing flowers, seller should not raise or lower the interest rates without the knowledge of other, since interest prices have been previously agreed upon. Trust is the most important thing among those who sell it without trust is the most likely conflict.    Keyword :The Florist, Social Capital, Public Cemetery

Abstract

The Family Hope Program (PKH) was first implemented in Indonesia in 2007 and is said to be the number one flagship program in poverty alleviation in Indonesia. The level of poverty in Mandah sub-district can also be seen from the low income of the community so that they have difficulty in meeting their daily needs. Also for the elderly, the elderly including humans who are prone to disease, retirement as for complaints, it is only natural to receive PKH in the hope of improving the quality of life of the elderly in their old age. So this research needs to be related to this problem, especially how the lives of elderly PKH recipients after be the beneficiary. The purpose of this study was to find out how the life of the elderly recipients of the Family Hope Program was. Keywords: Family Hope Program, Elderly, Social Capital

Abstract

Schools. This research was conducted at the Riau Technology Islamic Boarding School, whose research object was students at the MTs level who had never previously been students, namely the new students of the Riau Technology Islamic Boarding School, teaching 2019/2020. This study aims to determine the adaptation strategy of the students of the Riau Technology Islamic Boarding School. This research uses qualitative research methods, namely by conducting data collection, conducting interviews, managing and analyzing them by looking for and finding patterns, finding what can be learned and what is important, and deciding what to tell others later, also by way of calling. research documentation. In this study there were 5 (five) subjects, namely subjects of transitional age from children to adolescents. The results of this study state that these students adapt by getting used to the existing regulations in the Riau Technology Islamic Boarding School environment, the students also learn to adapt in managing both time and completing all the needs that exist in the pesantren environment, students can also adapt well to fellow students so that the students can create good togetherness with one another. Key Words: Adaptation, Student Islamic Boarding School

Abstract

The thesis writing entitled “The Existence of 212 Mart Soebrantas Pekanbaru City” began with the writer’s interest in the existence of Sharia Cooperative 212 minimarket retailer. Where the ownership is in congregation, it is managed professionally and centrally to maintain its competitiveness in terms of distribution, production, price and promo networks. In line with that many companies have sprung up in the field of retail trade in the form of shops, supermarkets, minimarkets and others. With the increasing acceptance of the existence of minimarkets or supermarkets in the community, making business owners and investors compete and attract as many consumers as possible so that more enthusiasts. This research was conducted at 212 Mart Jl. HR. Soebrantas, Tampan District, Panam Pekanbaru City. The purpose of this research is to find out the 212 Mart Soebrantas adaptation strategy in developing its progress from other minimarkets. The approach used in this research is a qualitative descriptive approach. And the selection of informants is done by using purposive sampling technique, namely the acquisition of data from informants based on certain criteria or restrictions, namely managers and employees of 212 Mart Soebrantas who have been running this business for approximately 3 years. The data collection techniques used in this study are observation, interview and documentation techniques. The theory used in this research is the adaptation strategy theory by Edi Suharto. The final conclusion of this study states that the adaptation strategy contained in the 212 Mart Soebrantas business consists of 3 parts: active, passive and network strategies. These three strategies are used and are mutually binding with the 212 Mart Soebrantas business, thus being able to provide a way to develop business and be able to defend the business of 212 Mart Soebrantas from various pressures, obstacles and competition.  Keywords : 212 Mart Soebrantas Ritel, Existence.

Abstract

Utilization of Sociology Accounts on Instagram Users of Fisip Unri Sociology Students. This research was especially conducted at The Sociology Student of Fisip University of Riau in the years 2017, 2018 and 2019. The purpose of this study is to measure and find out how sociology students utilize sociology accounts found on instagram as a means of supporting science, insight enhancers and lecture referrals. In this research method, it was conducted using a quantitative approach with the form of Parametric Inference, which is normal distributed data with a sample number of more than a hundred respondents. The determination of the subjects in this study used simple random sampling technique as many as 180 people from a population of 340 people. The theory used in this study is the Hyperreality Theory of Symbolic Marks and Values by Jean Baudrillard. The result of the research was known that in the utilization of sociological accounts, respondents had a moderate category utilization rate or with a percentage of 65.6 %. Utilization rates are distinguished into the first two forms, utilization rates based on gender. Second, the utilization rate is based on the year of the force. The rate of utilization based on gender found that women are more consigned to utilizing sociological accounts. Then by force year, the year of 2019 contributes more in utilizing sociological accounts.  Keywords : Utilization, Sociology Accounts, Instagram, Hiperreality, Mark Value and Symbolic Value.

Abstract

Gravediggers at the Tampan District Public Cemetery Pekanbaru City. This research was conducted at the Public Cemetery in Tampan District Pekanbaru City. The purpose of this study was to determine the social capital of gravediggers by using qualitative descriptive research methods and using data collection techniques through direct observation, interviews, and documentation. Retrieval of informants using purposive sampling technique, provided that informants are based on predetermined characteristics. The number of informants in this study were four gravediggers with the status of casual daily laborers at the Tampan District Public Cemetery. The results obtained are that the gravedigger social capital includes three elements, namely social networks, beliefs and norms. These three elements are interrelated by strengthening each other. With the existence of social capital, gravediggers can maintain harmony with one another, cooperate well and help each other in the economic and work fields.  Keywords: Gravedinggers,  Sosial capital

Abstract

Academic achievement is the result of the final achievement of learning within a specified period of time through tests that have been provided by each school or institution.  Orphanages are institutions or places to accommodate orphans, neglected and under the poverty line.  Where children are provided with education and various skills according to the interests and talents of each individual.  Putera Muhammadiyah Orphanage is an orphanage built to accommodate orphaned, abandoned children and children under the poverty line. This study aims to determine the factors that influence academic achievement and how the academic achievement of the children at the Putera Muhammadiyah orphanage, Bangkinang city.  In this study, the research method used was a quantitative approach with a sample of 40 children.  Determination of the subject in this study using census techniques or saturated sampling.  The theory used in this research is the structural functionalism theory of Talcott Parsons' adaptation, goal, integration, and latent patent maintenance.  From the results of this study, it can be concluded that the academic achievement of the children of Putera Muhammadiyah orphanage in Bangkinang city is in the high category with a percentage of 52.5%. The level of achievement can be divided into two forms.  First, level of achievement based on length of stay.  Second, the level of achievement based on the child's age.  The level of academic achievement based on length of stay shows that more children live more than 3 years.  Then, based on the child's age, at the age of 15 the child contribute more to academic achievement.Keywords : Academic Achievement, Orphanage.

Abstract

It is suspected that there is a potential human rights abused against woman prisoner’s reproductive health in Riau Province’s prisons. This research aims to identify human rights abused related woman prisoner’s reproductive health and found the affort to reduce it. The methods used to collect the data are interviews, documentation and observation. While Focus Group Discussion (FGD) conducted as part of the analysis stage interactive model (Miles and Huberman). The results showed that there is a potential human rights abused related to woman prisoner’s reproductive health in Riau Province prisons. It is occurred because of limited prison infrastructure, including getting access to goods essential needs during menstruation like pads. Efforts to reduce human rights abused against women prisoners in the prisons while improving compliance and protection of human rights is conducting the capacity building for the staff of prisons, setting clear standards compliance for the health rights of women prisoners, operating system of evaluation and monitoring of the implementation of the health right, adding women prisons officers, and build prisons that were intended for female inmates.

Abstract

Perkembangan internet yang semakin maju merupakan awal dari tumbuhnya game online dikalangan remaja. Bahkan bisa menjadi media yang sangat menghibur dan bisa menjadi bagian dari representasi identitas seseorang. Terlebih lagi di era sekarang ini, fenomena remaja yang menjadi penerus bangsa sudah mulai kehilangan kendali diri akibat game online. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat secara kritis dampak merugikan dari game online yang mampu mengasingkan remaja dari lingkungan sosial dan keluarganya. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Diharapkan penelitian ini dapat memberikan kontribusi dan pemikiran yang antisipatif terhadap bahaya game online bagi remaja saat ini. Kesimpulannya adalah sebagai bahan refleksi bagi orang tua, Lembaga Pendidikan, dan pemangku kepentingan dalam hubungan untuk terus menjaga generasi muda dari pengaruh buruk game online.
