Abstract

Tahapan UCD meliputi Understand and specify the context of use, Specify the user and organizational requirements, Produce design solutions (prototypes) dan Evaluate designs with users against requirements.

Abstract

Abstract

The ubiquitous use of digital technology brings the inevitability of online learning and its varying degree of teacher-student interactions, both in synchronous and asynchronous online learning modes. This present study reviews the strength and weaknesses of the two online learning modes to propose the use of blended online learning as the combination that harvests the strengths of asynchronous and synchronous modes of online learning with the opportunity to cover each other's weaknesses. The recent study employed Aveyard's literature review model as a method for gaining a comprehensive understanding of a specific topic using data and arguments from previous studies. Thirty-six articles published in reputable international journals or accredited national journals published in 2015-2020 were used. This review revealed that blended online learning combines the strengths of synchronous and synchronous learning in terms of authentic learning activities, flexibility, access, interaction, development of critical thinking, comprehension, and mastery, and student-centered nature of the learning. However, it still retains challenges in terms of network and connection issues from both online learning modes. This finding implies that blended learning can be the middle-ground to facilitate online learning with benefits from both synchronous and asynchronous online modes by minimizing the students’ exposure to the weaknesses from the two modes.

Abstract

The global Covid-19 pandemic affects all aspects of life, including students learning process. Teachers and students were instructed to "study from home" using the online learning mode. Many online learning platforms were used during this time, including Google Classroom. The present study aimed to reveal students' perceptions of the implementation of Google Classroom at the beginning of the pandemic. The study took place in one of the state vocational schools in Denpasar City, involving forty students in Grade IX. The data were collected using questionnaires and interviews. The study revealed that most students positively perceived the implementation of Google Classroom in their online learning, even though the sudden shift to online learning. However, students viewed the implementation of Google Classroom in online learning mode lacked interactions during the learning process, causing them to feel that they had no chance to confirm information or knowledge that they had learned. This finding implies that teachers must build interaction between teachers and students during the online learning process.

Abstract

Any application designed for promotional purposes should be evaluated in terms of its usability for its users. Thus, the present study focused on assessing the usability of the e-Bahari Augmented Reality Application developed to promote underwater tourism objects in Bali in 3D augmented reality. Heuristic Evaluation (HE) was applied to evaluate the application by involving three users as evaluators to comment and give suggestions on its usability in three respective levels of specifications and how to improve it. These comments and suggestions were then categorized using heuristic principles based on ISO 9241-11 and adjusted Nielsen Heuristics criteria. The evaluation revealed that the E-Bahari AR had successfully represented underwater tourism objects in 3D, such as underwater lighting effects, anemones, fish, and turtles. However, the 3D augmented reality for virtual things of real life still needed improvement as it had not reached naturality and lacked interaction between users and applications. Moreover, the evaluation also revealed that the lower the application specifications, the lower the quality of the augmented reality. Thus, the application with the highest specification worked without apparent problems.

Abstract

The ability to collaborate is highly important in the world of work and social life. This skill is related to the individual's ability to cooperate with others in achieving a goal. Several previous studies related to the development of collaboration ability instruments using visible dimensions as their pivot, such as aspects of performance outcomes and levels of interaction. However, some previous studies suggest that a person's ability to collaborate comes from within as well. Therefore, an instrument is needed to measure students' collaborative abilities in depth and adapt to the diverse Indonesian context, which is diverse in so many aspects. The researchers developed an instrument called the Local Wisdom-Based Collaboration Skills Instrument (LWCSI), which is an instrument that measures students' collaboration abilities but is adapted to the context of Indonesia which is Godly and diverse in culture. The population in this study consisted of 166 students who took civics education classes in the short semester of 2022/2023. To determine the validity, the df value used is (166-2) = 164 with an α value of 0.05. The R-table value obtained is 0.1281. From the table the R-count is greater than the R-table, so it can be concluded that all items are valid. The number shows 0.06 so it can be concluded that the LWCSI instrument is reliable and can be utilized to measure student collaboration skills based on local wisdom. Therefore, it can be concluded that this instrument is able to measure the collaboration skills of students with a variety of beliefs and cultures, especially in Indonesia that have a large and diverse population.
