Abstract

The durian plant is believed to have medicinal properties and has a distinctive name in each region, such as durian selat from Selat Village in Jambi. Parts of the durian plant such as durian skin and durian seeds have been shown to have antibacterial activity. This study aimed to determine the antibacterial activity and the diameter of the inhibition zone of strait durian leaves (Durio zibethinus Linn.) against Propionibacterium acnes and Staphylococcus epidermidis bacteria. Antibacterial activity testing was carried out using the disc diffusion method. Based on the results obtained, n-hexane, ethyl acetate, and ethanol extract of durian leaves have antibacterial activity at 1% to 6% concentration with weak level against Propionibacterium acnes bacteria and moderate level against Staphylococcus epidermidis bacteria. The highest inhibition zone diameter was obtained from ethyl acetate extract 4.76 mm (weak category) against P. acnes bacteria and the highest inhibition zone diameter was obtained from ethyl acetate extract 6.26 mm (medium category) against S. epidermidis bacteria with MIC values ​​(Minimum Inhibitory Concentration) at 1% concentration.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Background: Peptic ulcer is one of the health problems in the digestive tract which is characterized by burning and discomfort in the abdominal area. Dragon’s blood has been used by the Suku Anak Dalam (SAD) traditionally to treat wounds. This study aims to evaluate the bioactivity of dragon’s blood on the healing of peptic ulcers in white rats induced using absolute ethanol. Methods: This study used 42 rats divided into six groups (7 rats per group), the normal control group, the positive control, the comparison was given omeprazole at a dose of 20 mg/kgBW, the treatment groups P1, P2 and P3 were given dragon’s blood at doses of 125, 250 and 500 mg/kgBW. Result: Animals were induced using absolute ethanol 1 mL/200 gBW. The parameters determined were the ulcer index and the percentage of ulcer inhibition. Administration of dragon’s blood at a dose of 125-500 mg/kgBW in rats could significantly inhibit the formation of gastric ulcers induced by absolute ethanol (P<0.05). The ulcer index from normal control, positive control, comparison, P1, P2 and P3 were 2; 20.4; 10.4; 14.6; 13.2 and 11.6. While the percentage of ulcer inhibition, respectively, from the comparison, P1, P2 and P3 was 49.02 % 28.43 % 35.29 % and 43.13%. Conclusion: The dose of dragon’s blood that gave the best activity was a dose of 500 mg/kgBW. Key words: dragon’s blood, Daemonoroph draco, peptic ulcer, omeprazole ABSTRAK Pendahuluan: Tukak lambung merupakan salah satu masalah kesehatan pada saluran pencernaan yang ditandai dengan rasa perih dan tidak nyaman pada daerah abdomenResin jernang telah dimanfaatkan oleh Suku Anak Dalam (SAD) secara tradisional untuk mengobati luka. Resin jernang diketahui juga mempunyai aktivitas sebagai antiinflamasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi bioaktivitas resin jernang terhadap penyembuhan tukak lambung pada tikus putih yang diinduksi menggunakan etanol absolut Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan 42 ekor tikus yang dibagi dalam enam kelompok (7 ekor tikus per kelompok), kelompok kontrol normal, kontrol positif , pembanding diberi omeprazole dosis 20 mg/kgBB, kelompok perlakuan P1, P2 dan P3 diberikan resin jernang dosis 125, 250 dan 500 mg/kgBB. Hasil: Hewan diinduksi dengan menggunakan etanol absolut 1 mL/200 gBB. Parameter yang ditentukan adalah indeks tukak dan persentase inhibisi tukak Pemberian resin jernang dosis 125-500 mg/kgBB pada tikus dapat menghambat pembentukan tukak lambung yang diinduksi oleh etanol absolut dengan signifikan (P<0,05). Indeks tukak berturut turut dari kontrol normal, kontrol positif, pembanding, P1, P2 dan P3 adalah 2; 20,4; 10,4; 14,6;13,2 dan 11,6. Sedangkan persentase penghambatan tukak berturut turut dari pembanding, P1, P2 dan P3 adalah 49,02 % 28,43 % 35,29 % dan 43,13 %. Kesimpulan: Dosis resin jernang yang memberikan aktivitas paling baik adalah dosis 500 mg/kgBB. Kata kunci: resin jernang, Daemonoroph draco, tukak lambung, omeprazol

Abstract

Jumlah Penduduk memiliki kaitan yang dipandang sebagai satu dari banyak faktor yang bagus dalam meningkatkan pertumbuhan ekonomi. Ketika kuantitas Penduduk bertambah maka hal tersebut akan menumbuhkan pertumbuhan ekonomi, sebab dengan meningkatnya jumlah penduduk akan berdampak pada meluasnya pasar yang menjadikan tingkat spesialisasi dalam ekonomi meningkat. Tapi pada kenyataannya laju kenaikan Jumlah Penduduk tidak selalu memiliki dampak positif terhadap pertumbuhan ekonomi. Pada kasus tahun 2019 – 2020 dimana Jumlah Penduduk meningkat tetapi pertumbuhan ekonomi menurun. Maka jurnal ini dibentuk dengan tujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh jumlah penduduk terhadap pertumbuhan ekonomi yang ada di kabupaten tangerang. Metode yang dipakai ialah metode analisis korelasi. Adapun informasi yang dikumpulkan adalah informasi kuantitas penduduk dan pertumbuhan ekonomi di kabupaten tangerang dalam kurun waktu 2019 hingga 2021. Hasil Pengkajian Menunjukkan: Jumlah Penduduk memberikan hambatan terhadap peningkatan pertumbuhan ekonomi. Peningkatan jumlah penduduk namun tidak di samakan dengan peningkatan pertumbuhan ekonomi akan memberikan dampak yang lumayan signifikan bagi perekonomian. Salah satu dampak dari pengaruh kenaikan jumlah penduduk dan penurunan pertumbuhan ekonomi adalah kenaikan tingkat pengangguran.

Abstract

The Real Work Lecture (Kuliah Kerja Nyata or KKN) at STIE Bima is a community empowerment activity carried out by students and Field Supervisors (DPL). This KKN program at STIE Bima took place from August 18 to October 18, 2023, in the Kolo Sub-District. It is undeniable that the Kolo Sub-District has natural potential that needs to be developed through tourism and marine resources by promoting Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and creative industries to be more innovative. The method used in the implementation of the KKN at STIE Bima is through participatory approaches and community involvement in interactions and data collection with MSME actors at the Kolo Sub-District Office. The results obtained from this KKN program include the enhancement of the local community's knowledge in Kolo Sub-District in improving MSMEs and creative industries, thus creating new job opportunities for the community through the application of digital marketing and providing local tourism needs to attract both domestic and international tourists.

Abstract

Bakso merupakan jenis makanan olahan hasil ternak yang digemari oleh masyarakat baik tua terlebih muda dan anak-anak. Bakso yang berkualitas adalah bakso bersifat kenyal namun mudah dikunyah dengan rasa yang gurih. Menghasilkan bakso kenyal menginspirasi banyak upaya penambahan bahan pengenyal alamiah, seperti kikil sapi yang selain dapat memberikan tekstur kenyal karena sifatnya yang kenyal dan lembut juga dapat memberikan tambahan kandungan nutrisi pada bakso berupa protein berbentuk kolagen yang bermanfaat bagi tubuh. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi penambahan kikil terhadap kualitas fisik bakso daging sapi. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Ilmu Teknologi Pengolahan Hasil Ternak Fakultas Peternakan Universitas Halu Oleo Kendari pada bulan November sampai dengan Desember tahun 2022. Rancangan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri dari 5 perlakuan dan 5 ulangan untuk uji kualitas fisik. Perlakuan yang digunakan adalah P0: 100 % daging Sapi, P1: 95% daging sapi dan 5% kikil, P2: 90% daging sapi dan 10% kikil, P3: 85% daging sapi dan 15% kikil serta P4: 80% daging sapi dan 20% kikil. Variabel penelitian yaitu uji kualitas fisik meliputi derajat keasaman (pH), susut masak (SM), daya ikat air (DIA) dan rendemen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kualitas fisik bakso daging sapi berpengaruh nyata terhadap derajat keasaman (pH) yakni 6,36 sampai 6,48, susut masak (SM) yakni 1,60 sampai 2,8% dan rendemen 70,80 sampai 76,94%, akan tetapi tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap daya ikat air (DIA). Dapat disimpulkan bahwa perlakuan terbaik adalah bakso daging sapi dengan penambahan kikil sebesar 20% (P4).

Abstract

Sources of drinking water that can be used by humans as drinking water needs are springs, surface water, ground water (drilled wells and dug wells) and rainwater. In Kendalsari Village, the water consumed contains lime and scale. This can stain porcelain and laundry equipment. If consumed continuously, it is certainly very dangerous for health. To determine the percentage of urinary sediment crystals of calcium oxalate in consumers of bore well water and refill gallons of water in Kendalsari Village, RT 04 RW 05, Petarukan District, Pemalang Regency. The type of research used is descriptive. The number of samples obtained using the simple random sampling method consisted of 25 samples of people consuming bore well water and 25 samples of people consuming refill gallons of water. Consumption of borehole water, positive results of calcium oxalate crystals were obtained by 9 (36%) positive samples 1 totaling 3 (12%) samples, positive 2 totaling 1 (4%) and positive 3 totaling 5 (20%) while negative results 16 (64%) of the samples and the consumption of refill gallons of water obtained positive results for calcium oxalate crystals as many as 14 (56%) positive samples 1 totaling 3 (12%) samples, positive 2 totaling 6 (24%) and positive 3 totaling 5 ( 20%) while the results were negative in 11 (44%) samples. Consuming bore well water obtained positive samples of calcium oxalate crystals totaling 9 (36%) samples while negative samples of calcium oxalate crystals totaling 16 (64%) samples and consuming gallons of refill water obtained positive samples of calcium oxalate crystals totaling 14 (56%) of the sample while the results of negative samples of calcium oxalate crystals amounted to 11 (44%) samples.

Abstract

Food availability is one of the key indicators in achieving sustainable household food security. This community service activity was conducted in Kampung Pekijing, Kalang Anyar Subdistrict, with the aim of increasing public awareness and understanding of the importance of utilizing home yards for cassava (Manihot esculenta) cultivation as a practical effort to support local food availability. The method included educational outreach, participatory discussions, and the administration of pre-test and post-test questionnaires to 40 respondents. The results showed a significant improvement in the community's knowledge regarding the nutritional and economic benefits of cassava. A total of 100% of respondents expressed interest in reducing their dependence on rice, while 97.5% felt motivated to plant cassava in their home yards. The negative stigma that perceives cassava as a low-nutrient food decreased markedly from 52.5% to 12.5% after the session. These findings indicate that direct and contextual education effectively enhances community readiness to support food availability using accessible local resources. This program contributes positively to the development of community-based food security in an independent and sustainable manner.

Abstract

The implementation of literacy culture has a strategic role in developing students' public speaking skills, especially at the primary school level. This research was conducted at SDN 14 Sadia, Bima City to address the challenge of students' low courage and skills in public speaking. The literacy culture implemented at the school not only focuses on reading and writing activities, but is also directed at strengthening speaking skills, through activities such as reading aloud, group discussions, presentations and storytelling. The purpose of this study is to find out to what extent the implementation of literacy culture can significantly improve students' public speaking skills. This study used a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data was collected through observation, interviews with teachers and students, and documentation of literacy activities conducted at school. The results showed that there was a significant improvement in students' public speaking skills after the consistent implementation of the literacy culture strategy. Students became more confident, able to convey ideas coherently, and use the right intonation and expression when speaking in public. This success was supported by full support from teachers, parental involvement and the integration of literacy culture in various subjects. This study recommends that literacy culture should continue to be developed as an effective strategy in building students' communication competence from an early age as it has a positive impact not only on academic aspects but also on character development and 21st century skills.

Abstract

Herbal plants or often known as TOGA family medicinal plants are very diverse, the benefits of this family of medicinal plants are very diverse, ranging from curing flu to other serious illnesses. In life from ancient times until now, there are known methods of treatment, both chemical and herbal/traditional. Bay leaf is a plant with the Latin name Syzygium polyanthum which is one of the herbs most often used in traditional Indonesian cooking. Not only delicious food, the benefits of bay leaves also penetrate the world of health and beauty in the form of leaf decoction and bay leaf extract. Bay leaf extract also has benefits as a natural insecticide. One way to improve the body's immune system is by consuming substances or substances that are immunomodulatory. Immunomodulators are substances or drugs that can modulate the function and activity of the immune system. Immunomodulators can be obtained from traditional medicinal plants, such as turmeric, ginger and galangal. These three plants are native to Indonesia and have been used for generations to relieve various diseases. The aim of this community service activity is to provide education to elderly people about the use of bay leaves and galangal in relation to immunity and natural insecticides at Posyandu Beringin V, West Kedungwuni District.

Abstract

Abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian tepung daun kelor yang berbeda terhadap kualitas fisik bakso ayam. Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap dengan 4 perlakuan P0 (kontrol), P1 (2,5%) pemberian tepung daun kelor, P2 (5%) pemberian tepung daun kelor dan P3 (7,5%) pemberian tepung daun kelor dan 5 ulangan. Analisis data menggunakan analisis inferensial dengan uji Analysis of variance pada taraf kepercayaan 95%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian tepung daun kelor yang berbeda pada bakso ayam tidak berpengaruh nyata (P > 0,05) terhadap kualitas fisik bakso dalam hal ini rendemen, pH dan daya ikat air.Kata Kunci: Tepung daun kelor, bakso ayam, kualitas fisik
