Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) strain of Sultana (superior selection of salabintana) is a new variety developed by the Center for Freshwater Resources Development (BBPABT) Sukabumi, West Java. Sultana tilapia is the result of crossing 10 superior varieties such as gift tilapia, jica, white, and other superior tilapia. Many factors cause the high price of feed, one of which is dependent on imported raw materials for feed manufacture. This study aims to assess the effectiveness of the use of local raw materials with different protein content in feed for the growth of tilapia and reduce production costs by using local raw materials as feed ingredients. This research was conducted from March 21 to June 19, 2020 at the Integrated Field Laboratory of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Lampung. The design used in this study was a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of four treatments with three replications. The treatments given included 30% protein treatment (A), 33% protein treatment (B), 36% treatment (C), and commercial feed control (D) for 60 days of maintenance. The data obtained were analyzed by using the ANOVA test and followed by the Duncan test. The results obtained in this study are that treatment B has the best FCR value and is significantly different compared to other treatments so as to produce the best growth. Besides that, treatment A and C also had a significantly different FCR value compared to the control

White snapper (Lates calcarifer) is a fish that has high economic value because it has entered a large export market. The obstacle in the cultivation of white snapper is that it requires a higher protein in the threshing phase compared to larger fish to increase the growth performance of white snapper. This study aims to determine the best lysine dose for increasing the growth performance of the white snapper in the threshing phase. The research design method used was a completely randomized design (CRD) with three treatments and three replications. The treatments given were artificial feed without the addition of lysine (KPKM), artificial feed with the addition of 0,15% lysine/kg of feed (KP A), and artificial feed with the addition of lysine 0,35%/kg of feed (KP B) for 56 days. The results obtained in this study were all parameters showed that the results were not significantly different between treatments (p> 0.05) for 56 days of maintenance. This is presumed because the levels of lysine in the formulated feed and the levels of lysine absorbed by the fish in the control treatment were higher than the other treatments. Then for the survival rate, the calculation result is 100% for all treatments. Based on the results obtained, it can be concluded that there is no best lysine dose in this study

Eel (Anguilla bicolor) is an Indonesian freshwater commodity that has high economic value but has slow growth. One method to accelerate eel growth is through feeding with the enrichment of essential fatty acids. The aim of this research is to know the increase of growth rate of eel fish fed with the enrichment of essential fatty acids with fish oil and corn oil. The study used 3 treatments and 3 replications ie A (0% corn oil + 0% fish oil), B (1.5% corn oil + 1.5% fish oil), and C (3% corn oil + 3% fish oil). Parameters observed included specific growth rate, total feed consumption, feed efficiency, fat retention, and survival rate. The supporting parameter is water quality. The data obtained were analyzed by analysis of variance and continued by fisher test with 95% confidence interval. The results showed that there was a significant effect (P <0.05) on the growth rate of eel fish fed with the enrichment of essential fatty acids with fish oil and corn oil. Treatment C (3% corn oil + 3% fish oil) is the optimum dose because it has the best growth performance and best feed efficiency that is specific growth rate (4.67%), total feed consumption (262,9 g), feed efficiency (61% ), fat retention (2.805%), and survival rate (80%).

Gourami fish (Osphronemus goramy Lac.) is a freshwater fish commodity that has high economic value because its very popular with all people. But the feed commonly used by gourami fish cultivators is factory-made feed, which is a commercial feed that usually costs quite a lot of money due to the material for making commercial feed, some of which still import from abroad. Therefore it is necessary to find a solution to reduce the cost of cultivation production by replacing commercial feed with homemade feed made from local raw materials. The purpose of this study was to examine the use of local raw materials formulated to make feed suitable for the growth of gourami fish (Osphronemus goramy Lac.) And to analyze the production costs of goramy feed made from local raw materials. This study consisted of 4 treatments and 3 replications using the completely randomized design (CRD) method. The treatments consisted of treatment A (30% protein), treatment B (33% protein), treatment C (36% protein), and treatment D (commercial). The results of this study indicate that the treatment of feed A, B, and C produced the same growth as commercial feed, and treatment of feed A resulted in the lowest feed production costs compared to other treatments. Nannochloropsis sp., an unicellular marine microalgae, has potential function as a food source for fish larvae and in chemical industry. Microenvironmental conditions, especially nitrogen and salinity stress in marine ecosystems, became major factor affecting the growth of Nannochloropsis sp.The aim of the experiment was to study effect of different salinities and nitrogen dosages to the growth and lipid contents of Nannochloropsis sp. cells. The experiment was arranged in factorial with three replicates. The first factor was salinity (28 ppt and 38 ppt), and the second factor was nitrogen dosage (100% and 50%). Results of the experiments indicated that nitrogen starvation and high saline concentration affected cell density of Nannochloropsis sp. in different level. The results showed that combination treatments of nitrogen starvation and salinity reduced cell density (treatmant A, B, and D), except in treatment C. Combination of high salinity and high N dosages resulted ini steady growth of Nannochloropsis sp. These results suggest that Nannochloropsis sp. are able to overcome salinity stress (38 ppt) in the presence of optimum concentration of nitrogen in the growth cultures. The results also shows that there were no significant differences of crude lipid content between treatments and no correlation between population density and crude lipid content. These results suggest that no simple correlation between population density and crude lipid concentration. On the other hand, population density was not the only factor affected crude lipid concentration in the microalgae cell.Keyword: Nannochloropsis, population, crude lipid

The nature of cannibalism in snakehead fish (Channa stiata) causes high mortality in snakehead fish farming. Good and proper management is needed to minimize its cannibalism. The aims of this research were intended to find out the feeding frequency and feeding rate in growth performance and survival rate of snakehead fish seed. This research was conducted with Factorial Completely Randomized Design (FCRD), which consisted of 2 factors, feeding rate and feeding frequency each with triplicates. The treatments of feeding rate were 3%, 5%, and 7% and the treatments of feeding frequency were 3 and 4 times everyday. The used feed is commercial feed PF-800. The result of this research indicated that feeding rate 7% with 4 times feeding frequency each day was the highest absolute weight and length of growth rate than the other treatments. The highest value in survival rate parameter was feeding rate 3% with 3 and 4 times/day. On the other hand, the lowest value in FCR parameter was feeding rate 5% with 3 times feeding frequency each day. Meanwhile, the highest value in protein retention parameter was feeding rate 5% with 3 times/day. The result showed that there was any interaction in absolute weight of growth rate and protein retention. The single factor in form of feeding rate gave significant results of survival value and feed conversion ratio. The result of this research showed that feed management of 7% FR with 4 times/day FF gave the best result in growth, FCR, and protein efficiency of snakehead fish. Although, it has the lowest SR value, but 7% FR with 4 times/day FF can produce the highest biomass of snakehead fish in this study reached 114,45g.
