Abstract

Safety at home is an important aspect that needs to be considered to protect yourself and your family. Although often considered less risky than formal workplaces, homes also have potential hazards that can threaten safety and health. Around 1.71 billion people worldwide experience musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs). One of the non-pharmacological treatments that can be applied for MSDs is ergonomic exercise. However, the low understanding and awareness of housewives about ergonomic hazards due to daily activities is a problem. Many mothers carry out housework without adequate knowledge of ergonomic principles, thus increasing the risk of MSDs. Therefore, it is important to increase public awareness of the benefits of ergonomic exercises, which can help maintain health and minimize the risk of musculoskeletal disorders during activities at home. This study aims to analyze the effect of ergonomic exercises in preventing musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) in housewives in RT 11 Bagan Pete Village. Results showed an increase in knowledge of ergonomic work hazards, with a probability value of p < 0.001, which indicates significance below 0.05. The mean pre-test score of participants was 10.13 (SD 5.476), while the mean post-test score increased to 18 (SD 1.259). In addition, the change in musculoskeletal complaints after stretching was also significant, with a p-value of 0.002. This shows that stretching has a positive impact in reducing musculoskeletal complaints among housewives. In conclusion, the ergonomic exercise service program not only increases knowledge and skills regarding good posture, but also provides more energy and reduces muscle pain. This activity succeeded in raising awareness of the importance of ergonomics in daily activities, which is expected to reduce the risk of injury due to household chores.

Abstract

Optimal early childhood growth and development will determine their health status in the future. Implementing Integrative Holistic Early Childhood Education (PAUD-HI) is an effort to optimize children's growth and development by paying attention to various children's characteristics. Apart from that, implementing balance diet in early childhood is expected to be able to establish optimal nutritional status in children. PAUD Group 2 Bungo Selango, located in Sungai Gelam District, Muaro Jambi Regency, has not implemented PAUD-HI optimally due to various risk factors. Kindergarten teachers have never received early childhood balance diet education. This community service activity aimed to optimize the implementation of PAUD-HI and implement balance diet in PAUD Group 2 Bungo Selango. In this community service activity, they are given health education and demonstrations related to the application of balance diet in holistic and integrative kindergarten learning. The results of community service activities showed that there is an increase in target’s knowledge before and after being given education which is not significantly different (Sig.>0.05). It is necessary to get used to implementing balance diet (consuming variety of foods, physical activity, clean and healthy lifestyle, and controlling ideal body weight) in holistic and integrative kindergarten learning.

Abstract

Antenatal care is a service provided to pregnant women, including physical and psychological health monitoring, fetal growth and development assessment, and preparation for labor and delivery. According to data from the World Health Organization (WHO), an estimated 500 women die each day due to complications related to pregnancy and childbirth. A decrease in the utilization of antenatal care visits has been observed at the Pondok Meja Health Center. Therefore, this study aims to identify the factors associated with the utilization of antenatal care at the Pondok Meja Health Center. This study employed a quantitative method with a cross-sectional design, using univariate, bivariate, and multivariate data analyses. The research sample consisted of mothers with children under six months of age within the working area of the Pondok Meja Health Center between September 2024 and January 2025. A total of 145 respondents were selected using a stratified sampling method. Several variables were found to be significantly associated with the utilization of antenatal care services, including employment status (p = 0.003) and health workers (p = 0.002). Meanwhile, variables not significantly associated included age (p = 0.128), parity (p = 0.392), education level (p = 1.000), knowledge (p = 0.127), family support (p = 0.496), disease history (p = 0.896), and satisfaction level (p = 0.070). The most influential factor was employment status (PR = 3.276). Both employment status and health workers play a role in the declining utilization of antenatal care services, with employment status identified as the most dominant risk factor.
