Abstract

The professional competence of teachers has not been able to change students' morals for the better. Usman argued that teachers have an important role, and are responsible for shaping the character of their students. The teacher is an important factor that has a big influence on the success of character education in schools. Facts in the field, there are still many teachers who do not have good competence. One of the competencies that need to be highlighted is the professional competence possessed by a teacher. This study aims to determine the professional competence of teachers at SMAS Laboratorium School Unsyiah; knowing the role of exemplary teachers in the Unsyiah School Laboratory SMAS; knowing the relationship of teacher professional competence to the role of exemplary at SMAS Laboratory School Unsyiah Banda Aceh City. The method used in this research is qualitative method. with interview data collection techniques, documentation, observation. There are 3 findings in this study; first, the professional competence of teachers at the Unsyiah School Laboratory High School; second, the role of exemplary teachers in the Unsyiah School Laboratory SMAS; the third is the relationship of teacher professional competence to the role of exemplary at SMAS Laboratorium School Unsyiah. This finding can be used to strengthen data on the relation of teacher professional competence to the role of exemplary. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the professional competence of teachers is very closely related in the process of setting an example for students, so that students will tend to be easy to advise.

Abstract

Learning strategy can be interpreted as a plan that contains a series of activities designed to achieve certain educational goals. Cooperative learning is learning that is carried out together or in groups between students and other students, who help each other in solving a problem on the material that has been given by the teacher in order to achieve completeness in achieving the lesson. Learning Islamic Cultural History (SKI) is a conscious effort made by the teacher to provide knowledge to students about important events that occurred in Islamic civilization and its figures with the aim of motivating students towards noble behavior changes. This study aims to describe the implementation of cooperative learning in SKI class VII MTs Darul Aitami Aceh Selatan. This study used a qualitative approach with descriptive analysis of the data that the author obtained in the field. Data collection was done by interview and observation. The author conducted interviews with SKI subject teachers and the author made continuous observations of class VII. And the results of the study show that the application of cooperative learning carried out by SKI subject teachers at MTs Darul Aitami is fairly "good". This can be seen from the process of preliminary activities, core activities and closing activities where most of the indicators are well achieved.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find out the use of guided inquiry learning models in improving students' critical thinking skills. The design of this research is action research, because the research is conducted to solve learning problems in the classroom. This research also includes descriptive research, because it describes how a learning technique is applied and how the desired results can be achieved. the results of the research and discussion related to the application of the Guided Inquiry learning model to improve the critical thinking skills of students in class III B thematic learning at MI Al-Azhar Menganti Gresik in the 2022-2023 academic year, it can be concluded that the results of observing teacher activity in each cycle have changed and experienced an increase. This increase can be seen from several aspects, namely teacher activity, student activity, and students' critical thinking skills that have achieved predetermined performance indicators, namely ≥ 80% experiencing success.

Abstract

Finland currently ranks first in the globe for quality education. The nation is known for its excellent educational system. Therefore, researchers are interested in analyzing the learning strategies contained in the Teach Like Finland book, as well as learning strategies that are applicable to zakat-related material. This objective is to develop learning strategies for zakat-related materials so that learning can be made more effective and efficient through the use of innovations and diverse approaches. This study employs the content analysis method. Several of the 33 strategies outlined in the book Teach Like Finland, such as brain rest schedules, learning on the move, celebrating their learning, leaving boundaries and offering choices, to make learning real, are suitable for teaching zakat-related material.

Abstract

The development of curriculum is an attempt to find out how to plan and organize the objectives, content, and learning materials as well as the methods used as guidelines for the implementation of learning activities in accordance with developments and needs to achieve certain goals in an institution. The subject of the research in this study is the curriculum at SMP Bunga Matahari International School (BMIS). Descriptive analysis research employs data collection techniques such as observation and interviews. The analysis is divided into three stages: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. The results of the research showed that the renewal carried out by SMP Bunga Matahari International School (BMIS) was developed by developing the 2013 curriculum and integrating it with the Pearson curriculum. First, the emphasis on development lies in linking learning material to the application of everyday life and situations that are happening. Second, learning methods that lead to learning with experience or practice Therefore, students will be able to absorb their knowledge to the maximum.

Abstract

This This study aimed to investigate the effect of preview, question, read, reflect, recite, and review (PQ4R) strategy on students’ learning interest and retention (memory). The study used an experimental method, utilizing a quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest non-equivalent control group model. This study took place at MTsS (private Islamic junior high school) Harapan Bangsa in West Aceh District, Aceh, Indonesia in the even semester of the 2022/2023 Academic Year. The sample of the study consisted of 40 students in the experimental group and 40 students in the control group. The parameters measured in this study were learning interest and retention. Data on learning interest were analyzed by using the ANACOVA parametric statistical test while data on retention were analyzed by using the percentage formula. The results of the study showed that the learning interest of students who used the PQ4R learning strategy was higher than those who studied conventionally, with a score of 83 for the experimental class and 66 for the control class. This could be seen from the results of 30.80 > 3.97 (Fcount > Ftable), indicating the hypothesis Ha was accepted. Further, retention (memory) of students using the PQ4R learning strategy also differed, namely 89 for the control class and 95 for the experimental class. The study concludes that the application of the PQ4R strategy has an effect on the students’ learning interest and retention (memory) in the subject of Islamic Cultural History at MTsS Harapan Bangsa.

Abstract

Madrasah Ibtidaiyah teachers have not all realized literacy-based learning. This is because teachers' initiating actions are not all very good, so an in-depth study is needed in this regard. The purpose of this study is to explain the literacy culture of SKI teachers and the initiating action of SKI teachers in shaping literacy culture in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah of the Ministry of Religious Affairs in Banda Aceh. This research is field research with descriptive analysis. The data were obtained from SKI teachers in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah in Banda Aceh. Data were collected by purposive sampling through questionnaires, observations, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis began with reducing data, displaying data, and constructing data interactively. includingThe results of this study show that the literacy culture of SKI teachers in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah is manifested through (1) daily activities, including reading activities 15 minutes before learning and reading the Quran; (2) weekly activities, including literacy every Saturday and Minimoli (Mini Moving Lybrary); (3) semesterly activities, including book summarizing programs, reading camps, book donations, book worms, book presentations, and story telling; and (4) annual activities, including making class libraries and hunting literacy programs. (good) forIn addition, the initiating action of SKI teachers in shaping a culture of literacy in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah of the Ministry of Religious Affairs in Banda Aceh City is divided into 3, namely a score of 50–70 (not good) for as many as 3 SKI teachers; a score of 71–80 (good) for as many as 8 SKI teachers; and a score of 81–100 (very good) for as many as 4 SKI teachers. Initiating action is not influenced by length of service, latest education, or school status but is determined by being responsive, acting independently, and doing more than required.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to create a scientific-based Student Worksheets (LKPD) on the subject matter of Akidah Akhlak grade 8 Madrasah Tsanawiyah by knowing the level of feasibility and the teacher's response to the product being developed. This study uses research and development methods with the ADDIE model, including five steps: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation which are modified according to the conditions at the time of the study. Data collection techniques used validation sheets and teacher response questionnaires. The percentage of the LKPD feasibility validation stage is from the material field, it gets 98.8%, the media field gets 90%, the language field gets 75%, and the scientific approach field gets 98.3%. The total average value of the overall percentage of validators is 90.5% with the criteria of Very Eligible. While the results of the questionnaire responses to Akidah Akhlak teachers obtained a total percentage of 88.4% with very good criteria for the scientific-based Akidah Akhlak LKPD product. So, it can be concluded that this scientific-based LKPD can be used as teaching material in the learning process in the classroom.

Abstract

It cannot be denied that since Aceh implemented Islamic Sharia as the main discourse of identity for this province, there have been cultural clashes between communities with different beliefs, especially in Aceh border areas such as Singkil Regency. This social problem has incited the emergence of the identity of converting to Islam for some people on the Aceh border, especially those who come from Nias and Pakpak. This study is an attempt to understand and explain the existence of the Muslim community on the Aceh border using the concepts of social identity and community resilience. This study was carried out due to a lack of studies on groups of converts who are influenced by sociopolitical conditions, not just psychological-spiritual experiences, as in several previous studies that looked at the phenomenon of religious conversion. The phenomenon of converting to Islam on the Aceh border was triggered by social identity and survival strategies among the majority by negotiating identity as a convert. This descriptive research applied a grounded research approach and a cultural paradigm. Data collection techniques began with library research, observation, and interviews with several informants related to research data. The results of the research showed that social identity as a convert to Islam at the border cannot be read as limited to religious conversion due to belief but rather as an effort to negotiate social identity as a form of psychological resilience of the community in responding to the dynamics and socio-religious problems in the Aceh border community.
