Abstract

This article aims to describe and illustrate about the existence of the art Dance Studio fire in Bungo Puti Mandugo Payakumbuh Barat Sub-district waves of Payakumbuh. This research was conducted with qualitative, descriptive methods. The main research instrument is the researcher himself, and assisted with the supporting instruments such as stationery and photo cameras. The data type is primary data and secondary data. The technique of data collection is done with the carastudi library, observation, interview and documentation. Steps in analyzing data with the stages of data collection, i.e. selecting, presenting and analyzing data. The results showed that the Dance community on Fire Bungo Puti Ibuh serves as the fulfillment of the needs of the instinct will be beauty. Dance Puti Bungo Api serves as entertainment for the community and displayed at the event helat nagari, a wedding, a race-race and festival. Seen from the creation of dance Puti Bungo fire in 1975 used to welcome President Soeharto. In 1977-2009 there is no appearance but there is still activity exercises. In dance 2010-2016 Puti Bungo Fire began to be noticed by the community so popular in it to be displayed in the event helat nagari, marriage and race. But until now the dance 2017-2018 Puti Bungo Fire rarely shown, but it was still taught in the workshop of Mandugo waves.

Abstract

Abstract This article airms to reveal the movement form of Pasambahan dance creation of Syofyani. Syofyani Pasambahan dance is a dance that often featured or displayed in various events, both at the local, and national and international. Type of the research refers to a qualitative research with descriptive method. Object of the research is Syofyani Pasambahan dance. Research instruments is author it self, data collected from literature study, interview, observation, and documentation. Data analyzed with Miles and Huberman model approach. Result of research found that the movement form of Pasambahan dance by Syofyani has uniqueness which combining the dance form of Minangkabau and Melayu. Part of appearance and form of movement form of Pasambahan dance by Syofyani consists of (1) posture, dorninant thing in this dance always shows pitunggu and standing position from dancers. Attitude motion shows the attitude in accordance with the rules of agility and elegance. (2) technique, shows the movement that comes from pencak silat and the art of silat. Specification or characteristic from movernent of Pasambahan dance by Syofyani lies on agility and elegance of art of silat and siganjua lalai’s move. Dance character more lyrical and flowing in a more staccato flow. Keywords : form, Pasambahan’s dance, and creation of Syofyani.

Abstract

AbstractThis study was aimed to know and describe the effectiveness of lecture and demonstration methods and the cause of ineffective both of them on dance art learning at class VII A SMP Pembangunan Laboratorium UNP. This study was qualitative with descriptive method. Instrument in this study was the researcher and it was also assisted by some tools such as stationery, camera and audio visual recording tool. Technique of data collection was done by using observation, interview, library research and documentation. Result of this study showed that both the lecture and demonstration methods on dance art learning at class VIIA SMP Pembangunan Laboratorium UNP were ineffective yet. It could be seen from the students score who had not more reached minimal compeleteness criteria (KKM). The problem was caused by teachers who did not develop study well with using lecture and demonstration methods, teachers did not apply those methods optimally so that it could be seen that unstructured implementation of steps of the lecture and demonstration methods. Teachers did it randomly which caused those methods were used at class VII A SMP Pembangunan Laboratorium UNP were ineffective (not effective). Keywords: The Effectiveness, Lecture and  Demonstration methods, Dance Art Learning.

Abstract

Abstract This article aims to reveal and explain the role of Galombang dance creations in the social life of Padangnese citizen, which is used at wedding parties. This type of research was qualitative with descriptive method. The research instrument was the researcher herself as the key instrument, who was assisted by both audio and visual recording devices. The study took place in Padang; informants were dancers, choreographers, and managers of studios and user communities. Data were collected by observation, interviews, documentation studies and literature studies. Data analysis done by referring to the Miles and Huberman  techniques, they are the stage of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and verification and conclusion data. The result of the study, which is the Galombang Dance creation, currently plays a role as a wedding party ornament. Aside from being an ornament, it is also a suggestion for respect and social status. Galombang dance form is a creation of entertainment-oriented and consists of traditional. Abstract

Abstract This article aimed at describing the function of “ sirih” in “ Makan Sirih” dance in Tanjung Batu, Kundur, Karimun, Riau. This dance is used by Riau civilians to welcome the guest. It is usally performed in official events. The data used in this research was descriptive qualitative analysis. The instrument of this research was the researcher accompanied by any tools, camera, and recorder. The technique of data collection used through literature study, interview and observation. The result showed that the performed of “Makan Sirih” dance in the guest was as social and cultural function. The social function of “sirih” is to describe the interaction between the civilians and the guest. The cultural function of “ sirih “ is as the custom of society to respect and appreciate the guests.   Kata Kunci : Tari Makan Sirih, Makna.

Abstract

Abstract This article aimed to describe the choreography of Sambut Sebiduk Sehaluan dance in Martapura, East OKU Regency, South Sumatera.This research was conducted by using descriptive analysis of qualitative design. There were primary and secondary data. The object of the research was Sambut Sebiduk Sehaluan dance in Martapura. The main instrument was the researcher herself and the additional instruments were stationary and camera. The data were collected through library research, observation, interview and documentation. The data were analyzed based on the following theory: data collection, data reduction, interpretation, and making inference. The result showed that the analysis was seen from the form and the content of the dance. The form of the dance included the dancers (5female dancers), movement (15 original motives), floor pattern (straight line and V straight line), top design (dominated by the low-top design), group composition (simultaneously and alternately), music (kulintang tanjung kemala), costume and make-up (baju kurung and red songket of Tanjung Batu; beautiful make-up). The content included: idea of Sambut Sebiduk Sehaluan was created in order to greet special guests visiting Martapura and atmosphere of this dance were happiness, peace and elegance. Keywords: review of Dance choreography, Greet Sebiduk Favors

Abstract

This article aims to find out and describe the application of the Scientific Approach to the study of Dance Class VII. 10 in SMP Negeri 2 at Solok. This type of research is qualitative research using descriptive method. The instrument of this study is the researchers themselves. Types of data using primary data secondary dandata. Engineering data collection done by the study of librarianship, observation and interview. After the data is collected, the data analyzed by a conceptual framework based on. The results showed that the application of scientific approaches in the study of art and culture (dance) are going well and the students gave positive response during learning activities. At the first meeting there were still many students who are making a fuss, not excited in the move, and not confident in doing the motion. At the second meeting has already increased the student who submits an opinion. At the third meeting of the visible increase in the activity of students i.e. students who dared to ask your opinions and ask questions. Student activity on the fourth and fifth meetings already looks very good. That's where almost all serious and eager students in learning theory as well as practice of dance. Then follows the application of scientific approaches in the study of art and culture (dance) is very effective in improving student learning activities.

Abstract

 This article aims to describe the mixing of cultures in the presentation of Ronggiang art in West Pasaman, especially in the Kanagarian Tujuah Padang Aua Kuniang. The type of this research was qualitative research and used descriptive methods. The main instrument in the research was the researcher himself and was supported by supporting instruments such as stationeries, video camera and audio recorder. Data collection techniques were conducted by means of library research, observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analyzed was carried out by the steps of data collection, data reduction, data presentation and conclusion. The results indicated that the mixing of cultures in Ronggiang arts was that Ronggiang's arts could be enjoyed by tribes who had already located and became residents of the West Pasaman or specifically in Kanagarian Aua Kuniang. The three tribes that are currently residents of West Pasaman are derived from three cultures in Ronggiang art. The cultural elements that assimilate in Ronggiang dance are Malay, Minang and Javanese cultures. These cultures are not packaged into one dance project, Ronggiang art in Kanagarian Aua Kuniang. The impact of cultural assimilation in Ronggiang art has caused Ronggiang's art to survive in the lives of the Kanagarian Aua Kuniang community.

Abstract

AbstractThis article aimed to explain and describe the choreography of Piriang Dantiang Balego dance in the production of Rumah Gadang Studio, Cupak district, Solok Regency. The type of this research was qualitative using descriptive methods. The object of the research was the Piriang Dantiang Balego dance. The data were obtained through direct observation, interviews, and documentation. Data were analyzed based on the Miles and Huberman approach, in the form of data collection, data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study showed that the Piriang Dantiang Balego dance was a new creative dance that was done with a choreography approach. In the Piriang Dantiang Balego dance, there were choreographic elements such as forms including motion, top design and floor design, group composition, dancers, costumes, dance accompaniment, and dance property. The choreography contents of Piriang Dantiang Balego dance were ideas or notions and the revealed atmosphere through the expression of dancers and dancers' appreciation.Keywords: Choreography and Piriang Dantiang Balego Dance

Abstract

AbstractThis research aims at finding out and describing students interests in danding, one of the extracurricular activities offered at SMPN 1 Tempuling Desa Sungai Salak Kecamatan Tempuling Riau. Descriptive approach was applied in this qualitative study. The objects were 15 students of the dancing class. Data were obtained from documentation, interview, and observation. They were analyzed by using the presentation analysis technique as proposed by Sudjana.This research was conducted on November-Desember of 2016. From the observation of the students activity, 3 indicators were used. They were willingness, attention, and participation. The instrument included 6 statements about the students willingness, 9 statements related to their attention, and 5 statements about their participation. Whether they did or not do what was described in the statement was analyzed in this research. The research result shows that from meeting I to meeting VI, the students score was 51,9 %.
