Abstract

This This article aims to describe the use of the Whatsapp application in the industrial era 4.0 in learning dance at SMA N 12 Padang. This research is a qualitative research using descriptive method. The object of research is the use of the Whatsapp application in the industrial era 4.0 in class X IPA 2 SMA Negeri 12 Padang in learning the art of dance with KD material 3.1 Understanding concepts, techniques, and procedures in a variety of traditional dance movements. and KD 4.1 Demonstrating dance moves based on concepts, techniques , and the procedure according to the count/beat. The researcher acts as the main instrument in this research, and is assisted by a recording device, and audio, visual and audio visual matching tools. Data was collected through direct observation, interviews, and documentation, as well as literature study. The data were analyzed through the procedure referred to by Sugiyono, namely finding information related to the use of the Whatsapp application in dance learning, then grouping the information found and describing the information systematically and structured about the use of the Whatsapp application in dance learning including teaching preparation, delivery of material, assignment, training/ practice and evaluation. In the next stage, the data is selected and the results of the selection are verified and concluded by the researcher. The findings from the results of the study concluded that the implementation of traditional dance movement learning has three stages including, pre-learning activities, core activities, and closing activities. Second, the obstacles to using the Whatsapp application in learning traditional dance movements include that it is difficult for teachers to monitor and know the abilities of students in learning traditional dance movements and students find it difficult to learn traditional forms of movement independently. Third, some of the advantages and disadvantages of using the Whatsapp application in the learning process of various dance moves include, different signal strengths, and smartphone memory being full due to learning material files causing slow smartphones.

Abstract

This article aims to describe the benefits of body movement toward a dance technique Autism arable Vivi Sumanti, a students of art department FBS UNP. This research is descriptive qualitative research method. Object of study is the work of dance Autism, data were collected through observation, library research and interviews. Data were analyzed through ethnographic analysis. The results were found, at the time of the initial drill choreographed to provide training if the body only of a general nature, such as strength, flexibility, endurance, and balance. However, the reality is if the body is generally not useful to the dance techniques desired by the choreographer. Because dance choreographer creates more movement traditional techniques that worked with modern dance, a blend of technique Jazz, Ballet, Headstand, and kayang. The body should be beneficial when the body work is done in accordance with the technique of dance choreographer wants. In the end, the body benefits obtained for Autism dancers just for strength and flexibility.

Abstract

AbstractThis article aims to reveal and explain Syofyani's idealism againsts dance style that has an impact on its popularity in the community. This type of research was qualitative with using descriptive method. The research instrument was the researcher as a key instrument, and it was assisted by both audio and visual recording devices. Location of the research was in Padang city. The informants were dance performers, choreographers and managers of studios and user communities. Data were collected by taking observation, interview, documentation study and literature study. Data analyses were done by referring to the Miles and Huberman technique, namely the stages of collecting, reducting, presenting, verificating and making conclusion of data. The results of the research show Syofyani's idealism regarding her style such as dance attitude, dance motions motive, motions rhythm, movement characters and expressions, distinguishing the dance styles created by Syofyani with dance works from other choreographers. Besides that, Syofyani's idea about her dance style is departing from the Minangkabau concept of women and men, as well as about Minangkabau customs towards the position of women and men who naturally changed. By looking at this distinctive dance style, Syofyani has become popular among the dance lovers community in West Sumatra.

Abstract

This article aims to express and explain the issue of how to express traditional dance through the development of motion from aspects of power, space, and time. Traditional dance as a source of arable is developed in the form of new motifs, which are arranged in a structured manner so that it forms a new arable dance. New dance works that are rooted in traditional dance moves are choreographically subjected to reconstruction and modification, so that a creative work takes the form of an artistic, aesthetic, dynamic, and groove development effort that is processed in terms of power, space, and time. The development of these three aspects can shape traditional dance works into new Minangkabau dance works, which are more dynamic, harmonious and attractive.

Abstract

AbstrakArtikel ini menganalisis pola dan bentuk pewarisan serta menjelaskan kesenian talempong pacik di Nagari Bungo Tanjuang. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif. Instrumen penelitian ini adalah peneliti sendiri dan dilengkapi dengan media audio visual serta pedoman wawancara dan observasi. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara, observasi dan kajian pustaka. Analisis data dilakukan dengan cara mengoleksi, menseleksi, menyajikan dan menguji data serta menyimpulkan. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa, pewarisan dilakukan dengan tiga tipe, yaitu dengan pola pewarisan vertical transmission (pewarisan tegak) kepada anak, pewarisan kepada kemenakan dalam hubungan kekerabatan, pola pewarisan horizontal trasnmission (pewarisan datar) kepada orang yang sebaya dan pola pewarisan diagonal transmission (pewarisan miring) kepada murid diluar hubungan kekerabatan. Proses pembelajaran masih menggunakan oral dan demonstrasi, dimana guru akan mempraktekan cara bermain terlebih dahulu dan akan dicobakan secara langsung kepada murid.Kata Kunci: talempong pacik, pewarisan, pola, bentuk.AbstractThis article analyzes the pattern and inheritance form which explain the existence of talempong pacik art in Nagari Bungo Tanjuang. This study belongs to qualitative research with descriptive method. The main instrument in this research is the researcher himself and equipped by audio visual media and guided interview and observation. Data are gathered by using interview, observation and literature review. Data analysis was done by collecting, selecting, presenting, testing and concluding the data. The result of the research showed that inheritance is carried out in three types; first, the vertical transmission inheritance method (upright inheritance) which is inheritance to children and inheritance to nephew/niece or in kinship; second, horizontal transmission inheritance method (flat inheritance) to coeval people; third, diagonal transmission (oblique inheritance) to other people or to students outside the kinship. In teaching and learning process, oral and demonstration are still used where the teacher practice the way to play it first then followed by the student directly. Abstract

Artikel ini akan mengungkapkan mengenai keberadaan tari Kain dari desa atau kampung Aia Duku Pinan Timur Minangkabau. Tari Kain mulanya adalah sebagai media bagi Perguruan atau Sasaran Pencak Silat untuk mengukur sejauh mana kemampuan murid-muridnya dalam menguasai kepandaian dalam bersilat. Bagi murid dari Perguruan Pencak Silat (dalam bahasa Minangkabau disebut Sasaran Silat), tari Kain merupakan permainan wajib yang harus dipelajari. Ketika kolonial menguasai Minangkabau, tari Kain digunakan untuk mengelabui penjajah, sehingga penjajah tidak mengetahui bahwa kegiatan pertunjukan tari tersebut merupakan sebagai tameng untuk latihan bela diri pencak silat. Selain itu, keberadaan tari Kain bagi masyarakat Aia Duku juga digunakan untuk acara penobatan penghulu dan untuk acara pesta perkawinan. Tarian ini bermakna sebagai lambang keperkasaan bagi seorang laki-laki,dan sebagai syarat dalam penobatan gelar pendekar. Sampai saat ini tari Kain merupakan salah satu kesenian yang populer bagi masyarakat Aia Duku Painan Timur. Kata Kunci: Tari Kain, keberadaan tari Kain, dan masyarakat Aia Duku

Abstract

This article aims to explain the role of appreciation activities in stimulating students’ creativity in learning the dance art in Junior High School (SMPN) 1 Banuhampu. The appreciation activities are capable of stimulating students to create ideas in performing the moving techniques. In addition, the appreciation activities are able to stimulate students to perform the local dances with a variety of styles. Appreciation activities are displayed by the visual presentation of a variety of local dance performances and a variety of local dance music accompaniment in the audio forms, as well as taking students to the cultural centers such as the Center for West Sumatra Culture (Taman Budaya Sumbar). Abstract

This article discusses about application of approaches and method in dance learning regarded to be relevance with the situation and condition in the SMPN 5 Solok. This article is going to answer many problems existing in the school faced by the dance teachers of West Sumatera. The problem is that the teachers are often not able to catch the appropriate method in the application of dance learning as well as to measure the students’ creativity correctly. This case is caused by the in appropriate approach and method of learning used by the teachers and less of facilities available. Related to that problem, the dance teachers of SMPN 5 Solok city try to answer it through applying approach and method that they consider to be relevance to the condition and situation of the school. The teachers use persuasive, cooperative, and motivated approach to analyze the problem. The learning method used in this study is the combination, of exploration and appreciation method, and then this approach is finally done effectively and efficiently in the school. Abstract

This article focuses on the new paradigm of arts learning. This study is based on the research in West Sumatera Province, Jambi and Bengkulu area. The findings of this research shown that most students having difficulties in understanding and enjoying the learning process due to conservative methods used by teachers. Teachers must be encouraged and exposed to a new dimensions of teaching and methodologies such as the appreciation re creative and exploration methods and by exploiting the invention of a new media in supporting and delivering the teaching of arts. Abstract

This article aims to explain and reveal the character building activities for learners through an appreciation of dance performances. Dance as an expression of human being capable of expressing various moral messages through symbols of movement, music, and costumes and properties, so that they can be said for character education media. Nowadays, almost complete degradation symptoms character on learners in schools in West Sumatra. Low understanding and experience of character for learners as cultured human and social beings, who live in the area which is known with indigenous philosophy and culture, such as Minangkabau with the philosophy of "adat basandi Syarak, Syarak basandi kitabbullah". In fact, many students who do not behave according to the characters of Minangkabau. This fact affects the social stability and social integration in the learning process in West Sumatra. Therefore, one way to solve this problem is to provide an understanding of the character of Minangkabau  through  Minangkabau dance performances, which are considered to have substance on the characteristics of Minangkabau.   Keywords: Character, Dance Arts Performing, and Students.
