Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the interaction between drama students and teachers on the academic achievement of class VIII students of SMP Negeri 6 Tebo. The type of research used in this study is a mixed method that combines quantitative and qualitative research. In this research, the sampling technique used purposive sampling method with a sample of 30 students in this study. Data collection techniques used in this study were observation, questionnaires, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis technique in this study is simple linear regression. The results of the study prove that theater arts for class VIII 1 of Tebo 6 Public Middle School with the theme Tasainen for the 2022/2023 school year have a significant positive effect on student-teacher interaction abilities and student learning outcomes. If Fcount 9.71 > 4.20 then H0 is rejected, with a significance level of 0.004 and 0.05, it can be concluded that student-teacher interaction has a significant effect on academic achievement in theatre. From the results of the coefficient R2 (R-squared) obtained with a coefficient of 0.231, it can be concluded that the effect of student-teacher interaction is 23.1% in the theater arts subject at SMP Negeri 6 Tebo. While the rest are other effects such as internal factors in the form of physical factors and psychological factors, as well as external factors in the form of family factors, school factors, and community factors.

Abstract

This article aims to reveal the sacred values of the Tauh dance in the Kenduri Sko ceremony for the people of Pulau Sangkar Village, Kerinci Regency. The Tauh dance as a cultural heritage of the Pulau Sangkar people has been preserved to this day, and is demonstrated in the Kenduri Sko ceremony. This research is qualitative with descriptive method. Qualitative data were collected through interviews, observation, and documentation studies. Informants who are traditional holders and local scholars and humanists were selected by snowball sampling. The research instrument is the researcher himself, assisted by various audiovisual aids. The data were analyzed based on the Miles and Huberman model, and determined cultural themes. The results of the study found that the sacred values contained in the Tauh dance are: 1) Human values with God, which are manifested in the form of praying, greetings, and worship; 2) The value of human relations with humans, which is manifested through human activities such as preparing for dance performances, interaction, and communication during performances; 3) The value of human relations with nature is manifested in the form of offerings in the form of incense and natural energy that enters the dancer's body.

Abstract

This study aims to reveal the impact of dance training on students' self-confidence in MTsN 1 Padang City. This type of research is qualitative research with descriptive methods. The main instrument in this study was the researcher himself and assisted by supporting instruments such as stationery and cameras. the data in this study used primary data and secondary data. Data collection techniques are carried out employing literature studies, observations, interviews and documentation. The steps of analyzing data are data collection, data reduction, data presentation and conclusion. The results showed that class VIII students who took part in dance training in extracurricular activities of dance seemed to have a confident attitude. This is reflected through aspects that are represented by several indicators, namely self-confidence, optimism, objectives, and responsibility. The aspect of self-confidence is that students seem to have a fixed stance, will and spirit, this is reflected through every step taken by students who are always confident. The optimistic aspect can be seen from the hopeful and definite idealistic indicators. The objective aspect can be seen from the indicators of impartiality, fairness and openness. The aspect of responsibility can be seen from the indicator of being able to complete tasks and promises. Based on the results of data analysis, the impact of student confidence through the indicators studied, namely self-confidence, optimism, objectives, and responsibility, an increase was influenced by dance training in extracurricular activities at MTsN 1 Padang City.

Abstract

This article aims to analyze the position of Minangkabau dance creations as entertainment and as a preservation of Minangkabau local wisdom. In addition, this article introduces creative dance as a new culture for the people of West Sumatra which has an impact on preserving Minangkabau local wisdom. This study used a qualitative method where data was collected through interviews, observation and literature review of Minangkabau contemporary dance creations. The validity of the data was tested through triangulation and analyzed based on the phenomena contained in the Minangkabau creation dance and then verified. The results of the study found that the existence of Minangkabau creative dance today is a form of representation of Minangkabau local wisdom so that creative dance can be accepted by the Minangkabau people in West Sumatra. Minangkabau dance creations are in process of creation and cannot be separated from the acculturation and reconstruction of Minangkabau dance traditions that once existed. In turn, this creative dance can maintain the existence of Minangkabau traditional dance as a cultural heritage of the Minangkabau people. Dance created by Minangkabau during this period has a position as public entertainment and as a medium for preserving the local wisdom values of the Minangkabau people.

Abstract

The purpose of this study describes the impact of extracurricular activities on the dancing skills of SMP Negeri 34 Kerinci students. This type of research is qualitative research with descriptive methods. The object of research is students of SMP Negeri 34 Kerinci. This research instrument is the researcher himself. Data collection techniques are carried out by observation, literature study, interviews and documentation. The steps of analyzing data are collecting data, identifying data, classifying data and drawing conclusions. The results showed that students' lack of confidence when doing dance exercises in extracurricular activities, due to students' fear when the teacher told students to come forward and also difficult to understand the material taught, difficult to capture the movements taught by the teacher. The results of the evaluation of dance extracurricular activities at SMP Negeri 34 Kerinci proved that of the 34 people tested, there were 20 students who got A (Very Good), 10 students got B (Good) and 4 students got C (enough). From the overall evaluation results, the teacher held a meeting with the principal for students who got the highest score (Very Good) to be included to take part in the Kerinci Regency FLS2N next year, and had the opportunity to participate in inter-school competitions such as Exspo and Pensi. This shows that SMP Negeri 34 Kerinci is progressing.

Abstract

Program Pengembangan Nagari Binaan (PPNB) ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan Perkampungan Adat Sijunjung Kenagarian Sijunjung Kecamatan Sijunjung Kabupaten Sijunjung Sumatera barat sebagai pusat destinasi wisata budaya Minangkabau di Sumatera Barat. Untuk mencapai tujuan tersebut dilakukan revitalisasi dalam bidang budaya dan ekonomi. Pada tahun pertama kegiatan difokuskan pada peningkatan nilai ekonomi Rumah Gadang sebagai homestay dan pengembangan wirausaha rumahan (home industri). Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan yang digunakan adalah Focus Group Discussion (FGD), Pelatihan dengan teknik demonstrasi dan kelompok. Penyuluhan dengan teknik door to door, dan pendampingan. Hasil yang diperoleh berupa peningkatan nilai guna homestay sebagai sumber ekonomi, melalui peningkatan service quality homestay, tumbuhnya 15 industri rumahan (tungku homestay) berkearifan lokal di setiap homestay binaan, serta menambah fungsi homestay sebagai resto original bagi pengunjung yang datang dan menginap sehingga meningkatkan income generating pemilik homestay. Dalam bidang budaya, kegiatan ini telah membangkitkan kembali dan menumbuhkan minat generasi muda untuk menghargai nilai-nilai seni budaya Minangkabau yang mereka wujudkan dalam bentuk aktifnya kembali sanggar seni budaya sebagai unsur pendukung wisata budaya dan usaha sablon yang menampilkan hasil seni budaya Perkampungan Adat Sijunjung sebagai representasi budaya Minangkabau di Sumatera Barat.

Abstract

This article aims to analyze and to reveal the development and changes in the Ronggeng dance in the dynamic socio-cultural life of the people of Simpang Tonang. The dynamic of the people's lives at Simpang Tonang is one of the indicators of changes in today's Ronggeng dance performances. The novelty of this article is to examine the issue of changes in the Ronggeng dance due to the dynamic of changes in the social life of the people of Simpang Tonang. This research was conducted qualitatively with the explanatory method. The selection of informants in this study was carried out by purposive sampling, so that the selection of informants was based on the objectives and objectives of the research study. The researcher acted as the key instrument, conducted interviews, and directed observation of the object of research that was assisted by equipment such as audio-visual and guided by interview and observation guides. Data were collected through involved observation and structured and unstructured interviews. Data were analyzed based on the steps taken by Miles and Huberman namely data collection, data reduction, data presentation and data verification and data analysis conclusions. It is found that the factors that influence the development and change of the Ronggeng dance are sociological factors, aesthetic factors, value factors. Sociological factors can be seen in the use of the Ronggeng dance which is used in society, changes occur due to social influences such as lifestyle, status, and roles of individuals and groups. Aesthetic factors, the development of people's tastes causes changes in the form and model of Ronggeng dance performances such as at weddings. The value factor in which the existence of the Ronggeng dance is not only judged by its use as entertainment, but has become part of the value of status and social stratification for the people of Simpang Tonang.

Abstract

Abstract. This article aims to reveal, describe, and analyze the development of Setabik dance in Sekayu Musi Banyuasin district. This type of research is qualitative research with descriptive methods. The object of this research is the Setabik dance in Sekayu district of Musi Banyuasin. The research instrument is the researcher himself as the primary instrument, assisted by other instruments such as observation and interview guidance sheets and visual audio media. Data collection techniques are done by means of library studies, observations, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis is carried out in the following stages: (1) data collection; (2) data reduction; (3) data presentation; (4) data verification and conclusion of data analysis results. The results of the research showed that there were some advances in Setabik dance from the original version, namely the addition of the number of dancers, the variety of dance movements and accessories to the clothes. The Setabik dance, originally called the Tabik Tuan dance, was drawn from the Dutch colonial period in order to welcome the honourable guests and leaders of the Netherlands who came to Musi Banyuasin. Nowadays the dance has been taught to elementary school students up to high school. Besides, the general public who wants to learn Setabik dance lately has no limits. Unlike the conditions of the ancient days, the Setabik dance could only be attracted by the nobility, who initially used to perform only for the reception of guests, but in the development of the dance, the setabik has been presented as a entertainment performance. Thus, in order to preserve the Setabik dance so that it continues, the setabik dancing is a cultural art learning material in the Sekayu district of Musi Banyuasin. Keywords: Setabik dance, Development, and Education Abstrak. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengungkapkan, mendeskripsikan, dan menganalisis tentang Perkembangan tari Setabik di Sekayu Kabupaten Musi Banyuasin. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Objek penelitian ini adalah tari Setabik di Sekayu Kabupaten Musi Banyuasin. Instrumen penelitian adalah peneliti sendiri sebagai instrumen utama, dibantu dengan instrumen lain yaitu lembar pedoman observasi dan wawancara serta media audio visual. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara studi kepustakaan, observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data dilakukan dengan tahapan sebagai berikut; (1) koleksi data; (2) reduksi data; (3) penyajian data; (4) verifikasi data dan menyimpulkan hasil analisis data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat beberapa perkembangan tari Setabik dari versi awalnya, yaitu penambahan jumlah penari, ragam gerak tari dan aksesoris pada pakaian. Tari Setabik yang pada awalnya bernama tari Tabik Tuan sudah ada dari masa kolonial Belanda yang ditarikan dalam rangka menyambut tamu-tamu kehormatan dan pemimpin Belanda yang datang ke Musi Banyuasin. Pada masa sekarang tari tersebut telah diajarkan pada siswa Sekolah Dasar sampai Sekolah Menengah Atas. Selain itu masyarakat umum yang ingin mempelajari tari Setabik akhir-akhir ini memang tidak ada batasannya. Berbeda dengan kondisi pada zaman dahulu tari Setabik hanya boleh ditarikan oleh kaum bangsawan saja, yang pada awalnya tari Setabik hanya difungsikan untuk penyambutan tamu, tetapi dalam perkembangannya tari Setabik sudah ditampilkan sebagai pertunjukan hiburan. Dengan demikian, guna melestarikan tari Setabik agar terus berkesinambungan, maka tari Setabik menjadi materi pembelajaran seni budaya di Sekayu Kabupaten Musi Banyuasin. Abstract

This article aims to reveal the problem of deviant behavior in Minangkabau men. According to tradition and culture, Minangkabau men are men who are based on traditional behavior coded as syarak and syarak coded as khitabullah, meaning that Minangkabau men are men who behave according to Islamic customs and norms. In the dance work entitled "SHEMALE" Minangkabau men are represented as ladyboys, which in the current era are often found in urban areas, but do not apply in rural areas, because of the strong confines of village customs and norms, this behavioral anomaly cannot grow and develop. The creation method in the dance work "SHEMALE" is divided into 3 (three), namely the concept of creation, the process of creation, and the composition of the work (form structure). In the dance work "SHEMALE" it can be seen that every standard and deeply rooted social system, if maintained collectively, will be able to resist various external interventions. Apart from that, another message is that information technology can make people poisoned logically and intuitively, so that they deviate from their actual behavior. The third message is that there is no human being who cannot change, as long as the human being himself is willing to change.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze and describe the form of teacher appreciation for students in motivating dance learning at SMK Negeri 9 Padang. This type of research is qualitative research with a descriptive approach. This research instrument is the researcher himself and is assisted by supporting instruments such as stationery and cameras. Data were collected through observation, interviews, documentation and literature study. The steps of analyzing data are collecting data, analyzing data and describing data. The results showed that giving teacher appreciation to students was very influential in an effort to motivate students in learning dance. Teachers play an important role in efforts to motivate students to learn dance. With the appreciation of students can make students motivated to learn dance. This can increase students' extrinsic motivation. With the increase in extrinsic motivation, students will be enthusiastic in learning dance because they feel that the slightest effort made will be appreciated by the teacher, so that students will get used to doing their obligations, meaning that students' intrinsic motivation will increase as well.
