Abstract

The burden that children with chronic illness face is not limited to the effectiveness of pharmacological interventions. The burden that families and healthcare providers face is further compounded by fears and apprehensions that are not necessarily made manifest through speech. In this editorial, we shall seek to explore the implications that high-quality nursing care have for children patients with chronic illness. The discussion shall not be limited to the care and management of the illness itself but shall seek to explore the holistic nature of living with a chronic illness. There are several issues that need to be highlighted with greater intensity. These issues include: the integration of the family as a genuine partner in care, the intentional use of technology as a means of engaging families within their natural environment, and the psychological burden that paediatric chronic illness has on children as well as families. The nursing profession has tremendous potential that can be made in this area, as long as it is done so appropriately. Keywords: chronic disease; child; family-centered care; paediatric nursing

Abstract

Introduction: Increasing the workload of nurses caused the re-assessment of patients fall risk to be rare and can affect the value and quality of the Hospital. This study aims to determine the factors associated with patient compliance with re-assessment of the risk of falls in IRNA Bedah RSUD Dr. Soetomo Surabaya.Method: This study uses a descriptive correlation design with a cross-sectional approach. Samples in this research was nurses obtained with simple random sampling. Independent variables were attitudes, subjective norms, perceived behavior control, and intention. The dependent variable was compliance with re-assessment of the patient's fall risk. Data were obtained by attitude, subjective norms, perceived behavior control, intention, and compliance with re-assessment questionnaires and analyzed with Spearman's Rho with α = 0,05%.Result: Statistical test results showed that there was a significant relationship (p = 0.010) between attitudes and nurses' intentions in re-assessment of risky patients with weak correlation levels (r = -0.292), there was a significant relationship (p = 0.001) between Subjective norms with nurse intentions on re-assessment of falling risk patients with weak correlation levels (r = 0.281), there is a significant relationship (p = 0.007) between perceived behavioral control and nurses' intentions on re-assessment of falling risk patients with weak correlation levels ( r = 0.237), there is a significant relationship (p = 0,000) between intention and nurse adherence in re-assessment of patients' risk of falling with a fairly strong correlation level (r = 0.541).Conclussion: Intention has the strongest relationship in reassessing falling risk patients. Attitudes, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control also be a factor in increasing nurse participation in reassessing a patient's risk of falling. Supervision and control of nurses' approval is needed in reassessing patients at risk of falling.

Commonly referred to as "gangs", the characteristics of adolescents who are in the process of seeking their own identity often cause negative problems in their environment, including cyberbullying. Methods: The study design was cross sectional. A sample of 262 students of class xi and obtained using simple random sampling technique. Data obtained from the Cyberbullying and Online Aggression Survey Instrument questionnaire and The Social and Emotional Competences Evaluation Questionnaire (QACSE) were then analyzed using the Spearman Rho correlation statistical test. Results: The results of this study indicate that there is a relationship between Cyberbullying and social anxiety in adolescents. It was found that the higher the Cyberbullying obtained, the higher the social anxiety experienced by adolescents with a value of p = 0.000; r = 0.225 normal value p = 0.05, r = 1. There is a relationship between cyberbullying and social withdrawal in adolescents with a value of p = 0.009; r = 0.161 with a normal value of p = 0.05 and r = 1.Conclusion: Cyberbullying on social anxiety has a low and significant relationship with a negative direction where the higher the involvement of adolescents with cyberbullying is lower and Cyberbullying on social withdrawal has a low and significant relationship in a negative direction where the higher the adolescent involvement with cyberbullying is lower.

Background: Stroke is a major mortality factor necessitating coordinated care systems to prevent incidents and enhance patient prognosis. The implementation of discharge planning based on patient centered care in stroke patients aims to increase patient involvement through the provision of personalized information and shared decision making, in order to prepare patients for daily activities after discharge from the hospital. This study aims to Assess the effectiveness and impact of implementing patient-centered care-based discharge planning after stroke on patient satisfaction, quality of life, and reduction in hospital re-visits. Methods: The authors conducted a systematic review using PRISMA 2020 Guidelines. The article were derived from four electronic databases (Web of Science, JStor, PubMed, and Scopus) using keywords and terms relevant to the research topic. Consisting of full text original research articles published between 2019 and 2025 using quantitative and qualitative methods. Results: A total of 2,518 records were identified. Nine articles met the selection inclusion criteria were included due to having good methodological quality Patient-centered discharge planning interventions were associated with improved quality of life, patient satisfaction, adherence to post-discharge plans, and reduced hospital readmissions. Conclusion: Patient-centered discharge planning models positively influence patient satisfaction, quality of life, and rehospitalization rates among post-stroke patients. Abstract

Introduction: Continuous verbal abuse from parents towards children can cause emotional disorders and hinder children development, both physical and psychological development.  Objective: This study aims to explain the relationship between verbal abuse by parent with the emotional development and level of anxiety among adolescents. Methods: The research sampling technique used a simple random sampling, and 282 respondents were obtained as research sample. The independent variable in this study was verbal abuse by parents on adolescents’ perspective, while the dependent variable were emotional development and anxiety level among adolescents. The instruments used the verbal abuse questionnaire, Strength and Difficulties Questionnaire (SDQ), and the Depression, Anxiety, and Stress Scale-42 questionnaire (DASS-42). The data was analyzed by using the Spearman rank correlation test with a significance value of p 0.05. Results: The result showed that there is a relationship between verbal abuse by parent with emotional development (p = .001) and anxiety levels (p = .001) among adolescents. Conclusions: This study reveals a significant link between parental verbal abuse and maladaptive emotional development and increased anxiety in adolescents. The findings highlight the need for early interventions and educational programs promoting positive parenting to prevent verbal abuse and support healthy emotional growth. Positive parenting and healthy parent-child interactions can help ensure that children develop normal emotional regulation and anxiety levels.
