Abstract

As a country with a tropical climate with high humidity, relatively high air temperature, and hot solar radiation, it can disrupt the psychological and social conditions of field workers such as farmers. Farmers have a higher risk due to their work activities under the hot sun, which has a dangerous UV index. In addition, the lack of understanding of the factors and how to prevent farmers from being exposed to UV light has caused many cases of farmers getting diseases such as heatstroke, cataracts, and skin cancer due to exposure to UV rays. This study aims to know the risk factors for the dangers of UV light and the use of PPE for agricultural workers and workers in outdoor environments. This study used the literature review method. The search was based on three databases, Science Direct, PubMed, and Google Scholar, with the last five years of publication (2019-2023). Workers who do a lot of outdoor activities, such as farmers, have a higher risk of developing skin cancer due to the scorching sun with a harmful UV index. One of the risk factors for skin cancer in agricultural workers is exposure to ultraviolet radiation (UVR) and heat. Exposure to ultraviolet radiation (UVR) is also a risk factor for skin cancer, heatstroke, and cataracts in agricultural and outdoor workers. In addition, hazardous equipment can also be another risk factor for cancer in farm workers. Agricultural workers and workers outside the field must know how to maintain their health by using shade seeking, using PPE, and using sunscreen from the dangers of UV rays so that they do not experience skin cancer, heatstroke, and cataracts.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic, which has occurred since 2020 in Indonesia, has had many impacts on society in various aspects, one of the main ones being mental and social conditions that cause stress. One thing that has an influence is the health service environment. In nursing, communication is vital in helping and building interactions between nurses and patients, and it is called therapeutic communication. This literature review aims to help analyze nurses' therapeutic communication regarding the recovery of COVID-19 patients. The method used is a search in reviews literature using three databases, Google Scholar, PubMed, and Science Direct, with the publication year 2019-2023, with the initial step of identifying keywords and then screening and filtering to get ten suitable articles from a total of 3,846 articles found. The results of 10 journals that have gone through these stages or methods state that there is no significant process in each stage of communication on patient satisfaction. In addition, there was no significant relationship between nurses' skills and how nursing care was implemented. However, therapeutic communication is proven to reduce anxiety in patients and families. The nurse's good therapeutic communication experience is evidenced by the support system, effective coping, and hope for the patient's recovery. One of the latest models in its implementation is the TAGEET model, which encourages psychological support for patients. Female gender and nurses have a relationship with therapeutic communication. If communication is lacking, it will impact the psychology of patients and nurses and the patient's recovery rate. As a nurse, you should be able to interpret the techniques and stages of good therapeutic communication to increase a patient's recovery level.

Abstract

Victims of sexual violence have psychological trauma. In handling victims of sexual violence, a holistic approach needs to be taken to overcome the trauma experienced. The holistic approach is carried out using therapeutic communication. Therapeutic communication is used to support the healing process in victims of sexual violence. This research aims to find out about therapeutic communication strategies that can be applied to heal psychological trauma in victims of sexual violence. This research was conducted using a literature review by searching through three databases (Google Scholar, PubMed, and Science Direct). The search used several keywords in English and Indonesian. The literature review research shows that there are several stages in therapeutic communication for victims of sexual violence, namely pre-interaction, introduction, work, and termination. In addition to these four stages, there are three stages in therapeutic communication used in trauma recovery: pre-counseling, counseling process, and post-counseling stages. The literature study was conducted with ten articles that discuss therapeutic communication in victims of sexual violence; there are three main discussions, namely, the first discusses the stages of therapeutic communication, the second discusses the techniques that can be applied in conducting therapeutic communication, and the last discusses the benefits obtained by applying therapeutic communication in handling victims of sexual violence. From the literature review study conducted, the application of therapeutic communication to victims of sexual violence has proven to help handle the healing of psychological trauma experienced by victims of sexual violence.

Abstract

Early adolescents who are unable to deal with stress well will trigger maladaptive coping mechanisms such as self-harm. Self-harm behavior has become an adolescent trend that can endanger lives. This research aims to explore self-harm behavior among early adolescents at the Agricultural Area in Jember. The method used is quantitative descriptive with a cross-sectional approach. The research sample was obtained using a proportional stratified random sampling technique with a total sample of 376 respondents. Data was collected using the Deliberate Self-Harm Inventory (DSHI) questionnaire and data analysis using univariate analysis. The research results showed that almost all the respondents carried out self-harm in the low category; namely, 319 respondents (84.8%) and the remaining 27 respondents (7.2%) carried out self-harm in the medium category, two respondents (0.5%) did self-harm in the high category, 28 respondents (7.4%) never did self-harm. The low category of self-harm behavior that early adolescents often carry out is deliberately preventing wounds from healing, and the least common is intentionally breaking bones. Early adolescents who engage in low levels of self-harm behavior do not mean that these early adolescents will not attempt suicide. Psychiatric nurses and community nurses are expected to be able to coordinate with schools to develop appropriate nursing interventions for early adolescents who engage in self-harm behavior.

Abstract

Acute Respiratory Infection (ARI) cases in Indonesia and abroad are still a significant health problem. In Indonesia, ARI ranks first as a cause of death in infants and toddlers, with a mortality rate of around 20-30%. ARI can cause severe breathing difficulties, such as pneumonia, and ARI is also one of the leading causes of death in children under the age of five in developing countries. This study aims to analyze how to improve clean and healthy living behavior to prevent ARI in farmer families. The research method used was a literature review conducted through Google Scholar, PubMed, and Science Direct in the 2019-2024 range. The keywords used in the search for articles were "ARI, Respiratory Disorders," "Unhealthy Living Behavior, Reduced Working Period, Well Ventilated House," and "Farmer, Family". Researchers found ten studies that met the inclusion criteria in the review. Prevention of respiratory tract infections (URI) in farming families involves practicing healthy behaviors, such as washing hands with soap, maintaining environmental hygiene, and avoiding exposure to cigarette smoke. The articles highlight the importance of understanding knowledge and adherence to clean and healthy living behaviors (PHBS) in reducing the risk of ARI. However, therapeutic communication is also essential, through providing clear information and emotional support to change unhealthy behaviors. The article still has obstacles, such as the underutilization of sanitation clinics, which calls for a more intensive and focused therapeutic communication approach to overcome these obstacles. Factors that increase the risk of Acute Respiratory Infection (ARI) include cooking with biogas inside the house, high housing density leading to a lack of sanitation around the house, poor ventilation, heavy workload for farmers, which increases exposure to dust, smoke and toxic gases, intense smoking, lack of access or awareness of the benefits of local sanitation clinics, and lack of awareness of the importance of maintaining environmental sanitation. Nurses are expected to conduct community counseling to improve understanding of clean and healthy behavior in ARI prevention practices among farmers.

Abstract

The nutritional status of a toddler reflects the level of development and welfare of society in a country. Poor nutritional status can lead to wasting, stunting, decreased cognitive ability, or disease susceptibility. Nutritional status can be affected by ineffective communication support. This study aimed to investigate the communication of families in agricultural areas in the fulfillment of toddler nutrition. The method used in this research is to use journal literature studies from Pubmed, ScienceDirect, and Google Scholar with publication years 2020-2024. This research was conducted using 10 journals that have been selected according to the required research criteria. The literature search was conducted using the keywords "Family Communication," "Agricultural Area" AND "Toddler Nutrition." This study's results show that family communication can affect the fulfillment of nutritional needs in toddlers in agricultural areas. Communication with families can increase knowledge about nutrition and family behavior in providing a diet that can improve the nutritional status of toddlers. Parents are in a prime position to help toddlers develop a healthy diet early on. As nurses, we can provide health education to parents to maintain communication with toddlers and monitor their growth, including their nutritional status.

Abstract

Schizophrenia is a serious mental health problem where one of the symptoms is hallucinations. Signs and symptoms of hallucinations include feeling more comfortable with their situation, the client is seen laughing and talking to himself or expressing things that are not actually real, so pharmacological and non-pharmacological therapy management is needed. One of them is by providing Murottal Al-Qur'an therapy. The aim of this research is to explain nursing care and determine the analysis of Al-Quran murottal therapy on reducing the signs and symptoms of auditory hallucinations experienced by patients. This research design uses descriptive research with a case study method. Therapy is given for 7 days for 15 minutes by listening to the chanting of holy verses from the Koran, one of which is Surah Ar-Rahman and Surah Al-Jinn. The results of the research were a decrease in the signs and symptoms of hallucinations in clients and the ability to control their hallucinations by carrying out positive activities, conversing with people around them and murottalizing the Koran. Providing Al-Quran murottal therapy can reduce the client's signs and symptoms of hallucinations, namely daydreaming, isolating himself, smiling, talking to himself, lack of eye contact and hearing voices that are not real.

Abstract

The incidence of work accidents in agricultural areas is quite a lot such as pesticide exposure incidents, exposure to sharp agricultural machinery or equipment, animals and plants that can injure, and positions that are not ergonomic so that it requires immediate handling. This study aims to analyze farmers' knowledge about handling and preventing emergencies in agricultural areas. This study uses the literature review method using 3 databases, namely Google Scholar, Science Direct and PubMed by considering the publication time span for the last five years, from 2020 to 2024.  We used 10 studies that met the inclusion criteria in the review. It was found that some farmers have knowledge about the attitude and ability to handle emergencies. Some farmers have good knowledge, but their attitudes and knowledge related to handling emergencies are still quite low. Low knowledge and attitude towards handling emergencies can lead to undesirable outcomes such as death or long-lasting physical disability. Farmers' knowledge is also important to reduce the risk of work accidents in agricultural areas. Factors that cause a lack of knowledge and attitudes related to handling emergencies are the lack of awareness of farmers and the attitude of farmers who are too indifferent to work accidents, as well as the lack of education and training related to handling or first aid related to work accidents. For this reason, support from the government and health workers is needed to provide education and training to improve farmers' knowledge.
