Abstract

This study aims to analyze the feasibility of the four-tier diagnostic test items given to class XI high school students. This research is a quantitative descriptive study, which collects student answer sheets as data which is then analyzed for item selection, reliability, level of difficulty, discriminating power, distractor functioning, and readability test. This research was conducted on 30 students of class XI at SMA N 1 Slawi. The results concluded that in the selection of items from the 21 questions made, there were 16 items that were suitable for use and 5 items that were not suitable for use. In the reliability of the questions obtained by the reliability value of rcount of 0.760. In the level of difficulty, there are 5 questions in the easy category, 14 questions in the medium category, and 2 questions in the difficult category. In the differentiating power, the questions in the good category are 8 questions, the sufficient category is 8 questions, and the bad category is 5 questions. In the distractor function there are 10 questions whose distractors function well and 11 questions whose distractors do not function properly. Readability test questions according to student assessment questionnaires, four-tier diagnostic test questions are categorized as good to use.

Abstract

This research aims to develop a STEM-based performance assessment instrument to analyze students' creativity. This research used the Research and Development method referring to the 4D model. The define stage was carried out by conducting preliminary studies which were then analyzed, starting from analysis of initial, student, concept, task and learning objectives. The design stage was an initial design in the form of Draft I. The development stage was carried out to produce draft II, draft III, and final products from performance assessment instruments. Draft II was obtained through the results of expert validation revisions. Draft III was the result of small-scale product trials. The Final Product was from the results of large-scale product trials. STEM-based performance assessment instruments used to analyze students' creativity were developed in the form of 1) Lesson Plan, 2) Student Worksheets, 3) Grid, 4) Performance Assessment Sheet, 5) Assessment Rubric, and 6) Assessment Guidelines. Expert Validation of STEM-based performance assessment instruments used to analyze students' creativity produced valid criteria that was worthy of trial. Based on the results of product trials, both small-scale and large-scale also showed reliable categories. The developed STEM-based performance assessment instrument is valid and reliable so that it can be used to analyze students' creativity. Based on this, it was known the profile of students' creativity in two Public High Schools of Brebes Regency.

Abstract

MTs and SMP teachers in Rowosari Kendal District have difficulty carrying out authentic assessments manually because the components being assessed and the number of students to be observed are not small, and it takes a lot of time and effort, and they are prone to errors or omissions in the assessment. In addition, they are aware that the assessment is still focused on the cognitive aspects of students through learning achievement tests, while the assessment of attitudes and skills is only at a glance without using assessment instruments, besides that teachers must address technological developments that are increasingly accelerating and it is important to increase students' IT literacy. One of the potential learning methods to help teachers in authentic assessment and improve IT literacy is by applying the Authentic Assessment System (Sipentik) application.. The purpose of this research is to describe and analyze the characteristics of Sipentik as an authentic assessment application for teachers and the effectiveness of the Sipentik application in the teaching and learning process in schools. This type of field research uses a mixed methods approach with an embedded experimental model design , with data collection techniques through documentation, questionnaires, observations, and interviews. The data that has been collected can then be analyzed through quantitative and qualitative data analysis. The results of the study show that: 1) "Sipentik" as an authentic assessment application for teachers has the characteristics of this internet-based application with its main feature being technology for authentically assessing students, besides that it can also help teachers manage the learning system in class more easily and directed, also makes teachers more able to improve IT literacy. 2) The Sipentik application in the teaching and learning process in schools is effective as an authentic teacher assessment to improve students' IT literacy at SMP N 1 Rowosari, 3) The authentic assessment of SMP N 1 Rowosari teachers using the Sipentik application shows better and more effective than using the manual.

Abstract

Kepulauan Mentawai merupakan bagian dari Pulau Sumatera yang terdapat dua lempeng tektonik yang aktif. Kedua lempeng tektonik tersebut yaitu lempeng Indo-Australi menunjam ke arah lempeng Eurasia dan menimbulkan zona subduksi Sumatera yang banyak menimbulkan kejadian gempabumi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui sesar gempa ditinjau dari besarnya magnitudo dengan menggunakan metode focal mechanism studi kasus gempa pada Kepulauan Mentawai periode tahun 2010-2016. Metode focal mechanism merupakan metode untuk menentukan bidang sesar yang dihasilkan oleh kejadian gempa dengan memanfaatkan gerak awal gelombang P. Gerak awal gelombang P berupa gaya kompresi ataupun dilatasi. Selain dengan metode focal mechanism, dalam penelitian ini juga dibuat cross section gempa dengan luasan daerah tertentu yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui indikasi gempa yang terjadi merupakan gempa pada daerah lempeng tektonik. Hasil solusi focal mechanism untuk data gempa bermagnitudo ≥ 6.0 Mw rata-rata gempa menghasilkan sesar naik (thrust/reverse) dengan beberapa nilai kemiringan (dip) tertentu. Sedangkan hasil dari cross section gempa menunjukkan sebaran hiposenter gempa yang cenderung menunjam. Kejadian ini adalah indikasi bahwa lokasi gempa-gempa tersebut merupakan tempat lempeng yang menunjam dan ketika dihubungkan dengan hasil focal mechanism juga menunjukkan kecenderungan sesarnya adalah sesar naik dengan beberapa nilai kemiringan (dip) tertentu

Abstract

The independent curriculum employs a differentiated approach to learning. The differentiation approach is employed to adjust the ability of students to comprehend the material. One model that can be applied is the PjBL model, which is integrated with STEM. Learners will engage in problem-solving activities in the context of physics education, utilizing technology as a tool. The integration of the model with the learning media employed is a harmonious process. Digital student worksheets represent a potential solution for the integration of the STEM-PjBL model. This research is a development research (RnD) project that employs the ADDIE development model. The development of digital student worksheets is comprised of three stages: analysis, design, and development. The analysis stage involves determining the characteristics of digital student worksheets. The design stage entails designing content for digital student worksheets. Finally, the development stage aims to obtain validation of feasibility and practicality from experts. The results of the validation of material and media experts indicate that digital student worksheet is suitable for use with revisions. The results of the practicality test of digital worksheets by teachers indicate that they are feasible, while the results of the test by students indicate that they are very feasible.

Abstract

Efek Magnus merupakan fenomena munculnya gaya pada benda berspin yang bergerak di dalam fluida. Meskipun fenomena ini sangat menarik dan telah terdapat beberapa eksperimen yang dilakukan, penjelasan fisika secara rinci masih sangat minim. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan analisis terkait fenomena efek Magnus menggunakan konsep fisika sederhana berupa prinsip Bernoulli dan menguji tingkat pemahaman mahasiswa mengenai analisis tersebut. Berdasarkan analisis didapatkan bahwa pemahaman mahasiswa kelas Fisika Dasar 1 sebesar 43,68%, sedangkan persentase pemahaman Fluida Dinamis terkait interpretasi analisis matematis di kelas Metematika untuk Fisika 2 sebesar 28,60%. Faktor yang mempengaruhi hasil persentase tersebut diantaranya yaitu terjadi miskonsepsi pada mahasiswa, STM (Short Term Memory), LTM (Long Term Memory) dan tidak adanya kemauan mahasiswa untuk memecahkan masalah yang diberikan.

Abstract

The inadequate science literacy and numeracy levels of class X students in the 2021/2022 academic year at SMA Negeri 1 Ajibarang in physics learning, particularly in the domain of renewable energy materials, can be attributed to the limited engagement of science literacy and numeracy in the available learning media. The internet's potential as a learning tool has not been maximally utilized, resulting in a suboptimal learning experience for Generation Z students. In addition, some digital platforms commonly used by teachers are still not optimal in accommodating learning due to several weaknesses, such as limited material and interactive features, as well as information that is prone to being missed during the online discussion process through chat. These problems can be solved by utilizing Nearpod-based interactive learning media. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the media and compare which media exploration is considered most effective in enhancing students' science literacy and numeracy. The study employed a pre-experimental approach, utilizing a pre-test and post-test design with three experimental groups. The results indicated that experimental groups A, B, and C enhanced science literacy and numeracy. The N-gain scores of these groups were classified as 'low', with N-gain scores of 0.15, 0.13, and 0.07, respectively, for experimental groups A, B, and C regarding science literacy. The numeracy literacy of experimental groups A, B, and C were 0.20, 0.18, and 0.01, respectively. The conclusion drawn from these data is that Nearpod media is effective in enhancing science literacy and numeracy in the context of renewable energy, especially in the explanation of scientific phenomena in science literacy and the utilization of concepts, facts, procedures, and reasoning in mathematics in numeracy literacy. The utilization of Nearpod in blended learning is more efficacious than its use in flipped learning and print, with an N-gain value of science literacy and numeracy.      Keywords: nearpod, science literacy skills, physics numeracy literacy, renewable energy.

Abstract

The goal of this study was to reduce students' alternative conceptions (misconceptions) of action-reaction forces through the use of e-rebuttal texts. A mixed-methods approach, incorporating both quantitative and qualitative methods, was employed. The participants included 31 tenth-grade students (15 boys and 16 girls, aged 15-16 years) from a public high school in Sukabumi, West Java, Indonesia. The instrument utilized was a four-tier test consisting of 9 questions related to action-reaction forces: 3 verbal questions for the pre-test, 3 mathematical questions for the post-test (administered after learning), and 3 pictorial questions for the delayed post-test (administered over time). Data were analyzed based on categories of conception and correction of conceptions. The results indicated positive changes from the pre-test to the post-test, which remained consistent in the delayed post-test. The most significant rate of correction in students' conceptions from the pre-test to the post-test was observed in the Acceptable Change (ACh) category, while the highest percentage of changes from the post-test to the delayed post-test occurred in the No Change (NCh) category. It was concluded that e-rebuttal texts effectively reduce students' alternative conceptions (misconceptions) of action-reaction forces both immediately after learning and over time. Future researchers may consider utilizing learning models or strategies that involve group discussions to further facilitate the learning process.

Abstract

This research analyzed media feasibility and effectiveness based on IoT with a problem-solving approach that provides real experience to improve students' HOTS on thermodynamics law material. The Borg & Gall method's research development simplification had three stages: preliminary study, development, and field testing. The research subjects consisted of four lecturers as expert validators, two physics teachers, and three groups consisting of 108 in science XI grade students of Senior High School in Batang Regency, Central Java. Data collecting techniques were using questionnaires, observation, interviews, and written tests. The results of the validation of media experts and material experts were 3.84 and 3.75, respectively. The results of teacher responses and students' responses were 3.92 and 3.50 in the excellent category. The product's effective contribution to improving HOTS from the Multivariate Test analysis on GLM based on the partial eta squared value was 85.9%. The mean difference (MD) test results were -30.600 for the experimental group, while the control groups were -5.879 and -16.125, respectively. The more negative the Mean Difference (MD) score, the higher the students' HOTS. This shows that there is an experimental group giving improved scores better than the control group. IoT is an opportunity for teachers to see technology as part of education because technology is the current millennial generation's cultural artifact.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui deskripsi media pembelajaran mobile learning berbasis andorid yang dikembangkan dan mengetahui kelayakan media pembelajaran mobile learning berbasis andorid yang dikembangkan. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah Research and Development (R&D), dengan mengadaptasi model ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). Dalam pengumpulan data, peneliti menggunakan medote angket dan metode skala. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa deskripsi dari aplikasi media pembelajaran dilihat dari bentuk tampilannya yaitu media pembelajaran yang dikembangkan memiliki beberapa komponen antara lain halaman awal aplikasi yaitu cover, halaman menu utama yang berisi informasi mengenai contoh pemuaian dalam kehidupan sehari-hari, menu komptensi dasar dan kompetensi inti, menu peta konsep, menu materi, menu latihan soal, menu vidio pembelajaran, dan menu petunjuk. Pada setiap materi yang disajikan memiliki contoh soal untuk mempermudah pengguna dalam menerapkan rumus. Pada bagian evaluasi atau latihan soal disajikan sepuluh butir soal teori pilihan ganda acak diserta skor dan pembahasan pada akhir halaman untuk menarik minat peserta didik dalam memahami materi suhu dan kalor. Berdasarkan uji kelayakan yang dilakukan oleh validator ahli mengenai hasil uji kelayakan pada aspek rekayasa perangkat lunak mendapatkan persentase sebesar 91%, dengan kategori sangat layak, hasil uji kelayakan Komunikasi visual mendapatkan persentase sebesar 90% dengan kategori sangat layak, dan hasil uji kelayakan pada aspek desain pembelajaran memperoleh persentase sebesar 90% dengan kategori sangat layak
