Abstract

The qualitative research was conducted in junior high school to know students’ conceptions and conceptual changes on temperature and heat, specifically on specific heat topics. This study uses the purposive sampling technique. The research was started by collecting data and observing the students. The next step was a try-out test instrument conducted in a regular eighth-grade class. The try-out test was used as an instrument test to the superior dan the regular class of seventh-grade and the superior class of eighth-grade. The research instrument was a conceptual test in essay form and then conducted an interview. The samples were the students who had many possibilities in answering the research instrument. Based on the result of the study, the students’ concepts can be divided into three types: scientific, alternative, and parallel. The conceptions of the excellent class of the seventh-grade, the regular class of seventh-grade, and the excellent class of eighth-grade are alternative concepts. The conceptual changes in the excellent eighth-grade class are decreasing students’ understanding of heat and temperature.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hasil penerapan pembelajaran konsep energi dan perubahannya bermuatan etnosains pengasapan ikan yang digunakan untuk meningkatkan literasi sains siswa. Penelitian ini merupakan Quasi experiment dengan pretest-posttest control group design untuk mengetahui hasil penerapan pembelajaran bermuatan etnosains pada pokok bahasan energi dan perubahannya terhadap literasi sains siswa. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 4 Demak tahun ajaran 2015/2016 dengan sampel kelas VIII A sebagai kelas kontrol dan kelas VIII B sebagai kelas eksperimen. Penentuan sampel tersebut menggunakan teknik purposive sampling dengan pertimbangan tertentu. Instrumen penelitian berupa lembar wawancara proses pengasapan ikan dan tes literasi sains dalam bentuk soal esai. Hasil penerapan pembelajaran konsep energi dan perubahannya bermuatan etnosains dan perangkat pembelajarannya diperoleh peningkatan literasi sains berdasarkan nilai N-gin pada kelas kontrol sebesar 0,164 (kategori rendah), sedangkan pada kelas eksperimen sebesar 0,443 (kategori sedang). Analisis dengan uji t berdasarkan hasil pretest diperoleh nilai Sig. (2-tailed) sebesar 0,670 > 0,05 menunjukkan tidak adanya perbedaan yang signifikan pada nilai pretest kedua kelas, sedangkan nilai posttest antar kelas diperoleh Sig. (2-tailed) sebesar 0,000 < 0,05 menunjukkan ada perbedaan yang signifikan nilai posttest kedua kelas. Hasil penelitian dan pembahasan disimpulkan bahwa penerapan pembelajaran konsep energi dan perubahannya bermuatan etnosains pengasapan ikan dapat digunakan untuk meningkatkan literasi sains siswa.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to identify students’ conception of simple harmonic motion by implemen-ting SiPOERT (Simulation in Predict Observe Explain with Refutational Text). The research method used is mixed methods with an embedded mixed methods research design. The research instrument used consis-ted of diagnostic test questions in the format of four-tier Simple Harmonic Motion, Refutational Texts Student Worksheets, and learning implementation observation sheets. The sample in this study consisted of 32 students in XI class in one of the public high schools in Central Java. The analysis of this study uses delta M, the implementation of learning is shown in the form of a percentage, and the change in conception is analyzed based on the results of the pre-test and post-test. The results showed that students' misconcep-tions decreased by 16.4% from the pretest of 65.9% to 49.5% in the post-test. There was a change in the level of conception, by 42% in the Accepted Change (AC) category, 41% in the Not Change (NC) category, and 17% in the Unaccepted Change (UC) category.

Abstract

Menulis artikel ilmiah merupakan kegiatan yang sangat penting dalam dunia pendidikan, karena merupakan kegiatan ilmiah yang dapat mengkomunikasikan hasil hasil pemikiran, penelitian dan pengabdian yang dilakukakan oleh sivitas akademika. Tujuan dilakukan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah meningkatkankemampuan menulis artikel ilmiah dalam bidang sains guru SD se-Kecamatan Gunungpati Semarang. Terdapat 3 kegiatan utama pada pengabdian ini, yaitu pertemuan pertama pelatihan menulis artikel ilmiah sains dengan memberikan contoh dan reviu kritis cara menulis. Kegiatan kedua dengan memberikan penugasan untuk membuat poin inti menulis artikel ilmiah sains, dan kegiatan ketiga melakukan pendampingan untuk memberikan konsultasi artikel ilmiah sains yang akan dibuat. Berdasarkan evaluasi pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian dan hasil uji gain ternormalisasi tampak bahwa telah terjadi peningkatan kemampuan menulis artikel ilmiah sains guru SD melalui kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini sebesar 0,74 (kategori tinggi). Kesimpulan dari kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah terjadi peningkatan kemampuan menulis artikel ilmiah sains guru SD di Kecamatan Gunungpati Semarang.

Abstract

Science learning that takes place in elementary schools is still teacher-centered,it can be seen that the teacher's ability to design learning and the use of learning media is still less interactive and less practical so that learning is monotonous, has not used models or media in science learning. The purpose of the study analyzes the validity, the effectiveness of collaboration of interactive learning media and interactive student woorksheets with problem-based learning models on mastery of concepts and student creativity. This research is development research (Four-D Models) with stages of defining, design, develop and disseminate. Data collection methods are questionnaires, tests and interviews.This research was conducted in grade V SD Negeri 2 Plantaran SouthKaliwungu District, Kendal Regency. The results showed that the development of learning media to foster student creativity was very valid with a percentage of interactive learning media validation score of 98.33%; Analysis of student responses 65.21%. The effectiveness of the product shows that there is an increase in learning outcomes and student creativity increases with good criteria. The benefits of research results make it easier for students to understand the material provided by the teacher so that student learning outcomes increase. The conclusion of this research is that collaboration in the development of interactive learning media and interactive student worksheets with a problem-based learning model can improve learning outcomes and foster the creativity ofelementary school students.

Abstract

Penelitian ini didasarkan pada analisis kebutuhan media pembelajaran yang masih sangat minim dan ketersediaaan media interaktif dalam membantu meningkatkan kemmampuan berpikir krtis yang masih rendah. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahu efektivitas media pembejaran audio visual berbasis kinemaster bermuatan STEM terdapat kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik pada materi suhu dan kalor. Penelitain ini menggunakan jenis penelitian Quasi Eksperiment dengan desain One Grup Pretest Posttest dengan pengambilan sampel dengan cara Random Sampling dengan sampel penelitian yang digunakan adalah siswa Kelas XI MIPA 2 dan XI MIPA 3 SMA Negeri 1 Jatibarang. Hasil penelitian didapatkan bahwa terjadi peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis pada setiap indikator dengan besar ketercapaian kemampuan berpikir kritis pada rerata persentase pretest sebesar 47,80 % masuk pada kategori rendah dan mengalami peningkatan secara signifikan pada persentase posttest sebesar 76,90 %. masuk pada kategori tinggi. Efektivitas media berdasarkan uji t didapatkan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,000 < 0.05 sehingga dinyatakan berpengaruh dan signifikan N-gain sebesar 0,563 menyatakan tingkat efektivitas media pembelajarn audio visual berbasis kinemaster bermuatan STEM masuk pada kategori cukup efektif digunakan dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kemampuan pemecahan masalah fisika dalam asesmenHigher Order Thinking. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian kualitatif. Penelitian inimenggunakan kelas X MIPA 2 dan X MIPA 4 SMA Negeri 8 Semarang. Pengujian penelitianmenggunakan metode One-Shot Case Study. Asesmen Higher Order Thinking yang digunakan dalampenelitian menggunakan asesmen yang telah siap dan telah dilakukan ujicoba soal. Soal yangdigunakan adalah pilihan ganda beralasan dengan setiap butir soal mengandung keempat aspek untukmengukur kemampuan pemecahan masalah fisika. Berdasarkan dari penelitian menunjukkan hasil padakelas eksperimen X MIPA 4 sebesar: mengenali masalah 80,3%; merencanakan strategi 78,8%;menerapkan strategi 75,9%; dan mengevaluasi solusi 75,5%. Sedangkan hasil pada kelas kontrol XMIPA 2 menunjukkan persentase sebesar: mengenali masalah 75,5%; merencanakan strategi 68,7%;menerapkan strategi 67,2%; dan mengevaluasi solusi 54,3%.

Abstract

Abstract. Science learning is inseparable from practice activities or experiments. A laboratory is a facility to promote these activities. During distance learning, laboratory activities could be promoted at home. This research aims to portray the students' activities during the laboratory practice and to find out the students’ perceptions about the laboratory practice and take-home laboratory practice. The applied method was a survey followed by 80 physics education students of Universitas Pattimura. This research also interviewed three lecturers of the program. Before distributing the questionnaire, the question items were validated in terms of the content. Then, the researchers also examined the reliability of the questionnaire. The findings showed that students did the laboratory practice as they frequently did. They started by having a pretest and ended with a posttest. They also created temporal reports and practical reports for the following meetings. The students were interested in the practice activities because they believed these activities could make them having various skills. Some students recognized the term, take-home practice, by using any surrounding tools and materials. However, most students still considered that laboratory activities should have been done in the laboratory.

Abstract

This study aims to discover the characteristics of Animaker-based animated video, explore opportunities, measure feasibility and effectiveness, and analyze students’ responses to Animaker-based animated video and quiz team activities in improving the static fluid concept’s mastery. The method used in this research is R&D with the ADDIE development model. The result of this research shows that Animaker-based animated video and quiz team activities have the opportunity to improve the mastery of static fluid concepts. The characteristics of Animaker-based animated video media are shown in each part of the video, such as a teacher’s animation, process illustration, case study, practice questions, and simulation examples. The average validation score from three media experts is 87.1%, meaning the Animaker-based animated video is highly feasible. Animaker-based animated video media and team activities quizzes effectively improve the mastery of static fluid concepts. Student responses get a percentage of 82% in the very good category.

Abstract

This study is a research and development (R&D) to produce student worksheets that integrate the project-based learning model and a differentiated approach to train students' science process skills on renewable energy material. The development model used in this study is the ADDIE development model, namely analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. This study aims to determine the feasibility and practicality of student worksheet products. Five expert validators conducted the product feasibility test, resulting in a score of 0.88 with valid criteria. Teachers and students carried out the product practicality test as users of student worksheets. The teacher's practicality test obtained an average score of 92.08% with very practical criteria, while the student's assessment obtained an average score of 86.95% with very practical criteria. Based on the feasibility and practical test results, the student worksheet products are feasible and practical for use in learning to train students' science process skills.
