Abstract

The 2019 corona virus disease (COVID-19) has negatively impacted the lives of millions of people worldwide. The result is that the Indonesian government demands that schools be closed so that learning can be done remotely using online learning resources. Not only in Indonesia but also globally, the COVID-19 epidemic has had an impact on education and student learning. In addition to the overall impact, this study looks at how different explicit virtual learning language learning strategies affect English learning outcomes during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic in vocational schools. It also looks at how these strategies affect affective filters (attitude motivation, self-belief, and self-esteem) during this time. and to evaluate the aviation cadets' skills in relation to their attitude, motivation, self-belief, and self-esteem during the learning process in 2020–2021 during the corona virus (COVID–19) pandemic. Both qualitative and quantitative research methods were used. use semi-structured interviews with six people to get qualitative data. calculating the impact of researchers using statistical methods

Abstract

Teachers’ anxiety and self-efficacy in four English skills take an important role in succeeding the classroom learning activities. Thus, this study aimed to examine the effect of teachers’ anxiety and self-efficacy on their English skills mastery. The teachers’ English skills mastery was based on their TOEIC Scores. There were 65 teachers at one of the state polytechnics who participated voluntarily in the study. Data were obtained using Foreign Language Anxiety Scale (FLAS) and Foreign Language Self-Efficacy Scale (FLSS). Lecturers’ TOEIC scores were categorized into six levels namely novice, elementary, intermediate, basic working proficiency, advanced working proficiency, and general professional proficiency. The obtained data were analyzed using the descriptive-quantitative technique. The results showed that there was no notable effect of teachers’ anxiety in English on their English skills mastery. Another finding revealed a significant effect of teachers’ self-efficacy in mastering English on their English skills mastery. These results are expected to be a reliable source of rationales that initiating a development program of teachers’ self-efficacy in mastering English could enhance their English skills mastery.

Abstract

This research is a quasi-experimental research with a quantitative descriptive research approach, which aims to: (1) To determine the difference in the results of Practicum Learning conducted online with direct practicum in the APP Laboratory at D3 LLU XII cadets of Aviation Polytechnic Surabaya (2) To determine the effect of distance learning Aproach and Area Control Procedures for the motivation and learning outcomes of D3 LLU XII cadets of Aviation Polytechnic Surabaya (3) To find out the causal relationship between practical teaching methods in the laboratory and online practicums on the learning outcomes of D3 LLU XII cadets.The results obtained are that there is an influence of the distance learning method on the cadets' learning outcomes in the Approach Control Procedural course which includes planning, implementation, results and evaluation. The conclusions of this study are (1) LLU XII cadets in the planning and preparing category have a high average, namely in the category of determining the preparation of learning to be used, the percentage is 73% and the category feels they have the responsibility to attend learning, the percentage is 54%, (2 ) LLU XII cadets in the implementation category have a high average, namely in the category of implementing strategies in exercise according to each learning style, the percentage is 57% and the habit category for supporting and overcoming problems in learning gets a percentage of 60% (3) LLU XII cadets in the Outcomes and Evaluation categories, the average percentage is high, namely in the Habits After Finishing Learning category, a high percentage of 67% is obtained and the self-evaluation category for learning outcomes has a balanced percentage in the high and medium categories, namely 50% versus 50%.

Abstract

Abstrak Pendidikan Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan (SMK) bertujuan peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan siswa serta mempersiapkan mereka sebagai sumber daya manusia yang berintelektual, berwawasan umum, dan berkemampuan secara mendalam, oleh karena itu lulusan SMK seharusnya melanjutkan ke jenjang pendidikan selanjutnya. SMK Islam Sunan Kalijaga memiliki siswa sejumlah 62 siswa dan beberapa jurusan pendidikan yang mana pada setiap jurusannya pasti ada tantangan dan risiko, yang terkait dengan keselamatan kerja, dan apabila tidak ditangani dengan baik, maka dapat berdampak negatif terhadap kesehatan dan kesejahteraan siswa, baik selama masa pendidikan maupun di tempat kerja kelak. Terkait hal tersebut memberikan pemahaman yang lebih baik tentang K3 kepada siswa di masing-masing jurusan. Sosialisasi dasar tentang K3 diharapkan dapat meningkatkan kesadaran dan pengetahuan siswa, sehingga mereka tidak hanya siap menghadapi tantangan di lingkungan kerja masing-masing, tetapi juga mampu mengadopsi kebiasaan kerja yang aman dan sehat sejak dini. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini juga memiliki tujuan untuk memberikan kontribusi nyata terhadap peningkatan kualitas hidup siswa, baik dari segi kesehatan, keamanan, maupun perilaku sosial yang lebih bertanggung jawab. Melalui pendidikan K3, siswa akan dibekali dengan pengetahuan dan keterampilan yang dapat melindungi mereka dari risiko kecelakaan dan penyakit akibat kerja, sehingga mereka dapat bekerja dengan lebih produktif dan efisien. Hasil penelitian pada sosialisasi ini dapat dibuktikan dengan adanya kuesioner rata-rata responden menjawab bahwa kegiatan PkM ini Sangat Baik, dapat dilihat pada presentase menunjukkan 77%. Dengan adanya hasil tersebut peserta pelatihan mengharapkan program pengabdian kepada masyarakat agar terus diadakan secara konsisten setiap tahunnya dan lebih banyak pelatihan yang diadakan untuk program pengabdian kepada masyarakat. Abstract

The purpose of this study: This research aims to identify the elements that affect the sort of locus of control cadets have and how important they are in learning to write. To accomplish this, the research's theoretical framework considers the cadets' capacity for writing learning and their position as both internal and external loci of control within the framework of behavioral theory. Method: Researchers employed a form of qualitative descriptive research in their investigation. Observations, surveys, documentation, and interviews gather data. The Constant Comparative Method is used to analyze the data. This research was conducted in the MTU 8A Civil Aviation Polytechnic class of Surabaya. Air Transport Management cadets totaling 25 cadets were used as samples. Findings: As a result of the study, cadets with an internal locus of control type are more capable and eager to engage in writing instruction. Along with their better marks, the cadets appeared to be more engaged. On the other hand, cadets who have an external locus of control type appear to be more passive and have lower scores. Conclusion: It is clear that the locus of control type of cadets plays a significant part in their writing learning.

Abstract

Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat tentang Sosialisasi Dasar Keselamatan Penerbangan Bagi Siswa/i SMK Muhammadiyah 5 Panceng Gresik ditujukan kepada Siswa/i SMK Muhammadiyah 5 Panceng Gresik sejumlah 37 siswa/i yang bertujuan untuk memiliki tujuan untuk memberikan pemahaman dasar mengenai prosedur keselamatan penerbangan, termasuk langkah-langkah yang harus diambil dalam situasi darurat, meningkatkan kesadaran siswa/i tentang pentingnya keselamatan dalam penerbangan, memperkenalkan siswa/i pada berbagai karir di industri penerbangan, termasuk bidang keselamatan dan keamanan penerbangan. serta memberikan informasi terbaru mengenai regulasi dan praktik keselamatan penerbangan yang berlaku. Terkait hal Diharapkan dapat bermanfaat bagi mereka secara individu dan bagi lingkungan kerja mereka di masa depan, serta mempersiapkan mereka untuk menghadapi tantangan dalam dunia kerja dengan lebih baik dan siswa akan lebih bertanggung jawab terhadap keselamatan diri mereka dan orang lain, menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang lebih aman dan kondusif. Hasil penelitian pada sosialisasi ini dapat dibuktikan dengan adanya kuesioner rata-rata responden menjawab bahwa kegiatan PkM ini Baik, dapat dilihat pada presentase menunjukkan 71%. Dengan adanya hasil tersebut peserta pelatihan mengharapkan program pengabdian kepada masyarakat agar terus diadakan secara konsisten setiap tahunnya dan lebih banyak pelatihan yang diadakan untuk program pengabdian kepada masyarakat.

Abstract

This study focuses on exploring motivational reasons for learning English (eg, due to interest/pleasure, pressure from others, or future career goals). To find motivational reasons for learning English, I used the theory of determination (SDT) by Deci and Ryan (1985) as my theoretical framework. Based on the TOEIC score, the results of the cluster analysis showed four different groups, namely the following classifications: intermediate with a toeic score of 405-600, basic working proficiency with a toeic score of 605-780, advanced working abilities with a toeic score with a toeic score of 785-900, general professional proficiency with a toeic score of 905-990. Reasons for motivation to learn English, their goals (i.e., mastery approach goals, mastery-avoidance goals, performance approach goals, and performance avoidance goals), specific foreign language anxiety (i.e., listening, listening, and speaking), and foreign language in general Self Efficacy. Two sets of MANOVA, with follow-up comparison-ANOVA, were used to explain the motivations of different groups regarding foreign language goals and objectives. One ANOVA was used to determine differences in general foreign language self-efficacy. The results showed significant influence and differences between cadets in the four groups based on TOEIC scores on learning motivation, their goals, foreign languages, and foreign languages in general.

Abstract

Abstrak Bahasa Inggris merupakan salah satu kemampuan yang sangat dibutuhkan taruna baik dalam bidang Pendidikan atau dunia kerja. Taruna dengan pengetahuan Bahasa Inggris serta keterampilan yang baik akan lebih siap menghadapi persaingan global. Penelitian ini mengkhususkan pada materi vocabulary dan motivasi belajar taruna/i. Kemampuan berbahasa terutama materi vocabulary pada penelitian ini menggunakan metode Running Dictation yaitu teknik pengajaran bahasa yang digunakan untuk melatih kemampuan menghafal, mendengarkan, berbicara, dan menulis dalam bahasa inggris, dalam hal ini penulis memfokuskan pada kemampuan menghafal kosakata atau vocabulary. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui Kemampuan Vocabulary dan motivasi belajar taruna Manajemen Transportasi Udara angkatan 9A dan 9B dalam meningkatkan kemampuan Bahasa inggris pada materi vocabulary. Penelitian ini menggunakan dua variabel yaitu variabel independen atau variabel bebas dan variabel dependen atau variabel terikat. Variabel bebas atau independen pada penelitian ini adalah Metode Running Dictation dan Motivasi Belajar sedangkan variabel dependen atau variabel terikat adalah kemampuan vocabulary pada materi Bahasa Inggris. Metode penelitian pada penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan menggunakan SPSS 27 dalam perhitungan analisis data. Penyebaran angket atau quisioner dengan sample sejumlah 46 responden dari Manajemen Transportasi Udara angkatan 9A dan 9B. Hasil penelitian ini adalah variabel metode running dictation X1 dan variabel motivasi belajar X2 secara simultan (bersama-sama) berpengaruh terhadap variabel kemampuan vocabulary Y sebesar 41,6% dan dapat diambil hasil bahwa variabel X (metode running dictation dan motivasi belajar ) yang paling berpengaruh dalam variabel Y (kemampuan vocabulary) adalah variabel X1 yaitu metode running dictation dengan skala 0,642.
