Abstract

This research aims to present a comprehensive review of the influence of learning local wisdom on improving critical thinking skills, by conducting a meta-analysis of a number of empirical studies through appropriate articles. The method used in the research is the meta-analysis method by reviewing journal articles found according to the topic, then the meta-analysis stages are adjusted to the meta-analysis research steps. The results of the analysis provide a broader picture of the impact of local wisdom learning on empirical aspects related to meta analysis of educational levels, increasing N-Gain, meta-analysis of objectives, statistical analysis, research design and measuring effect size. The meta-analysis results show that learning local wisdom significantly contributes to improving overall critical thinking abilities. These findings strengthen the argument that educational curricula must contain elements of local wisdom to improve students' critical thinking skills and can help decision makers in the field of education make policies and learning practices that are more relevant to the local cultural context.

Abstract

Meta-analysis is a statistical method for combining quantitative results from several studies to produce an overall summary or empirical knowledge on a particular topic. This research aims to analyze the effectiveness of the use of teaching materials on students' critical thinking skills based on educational level. Research results that can be used in meta-analysis have certain characteristics/criteria. The analysis used is quantitative descriptive statistical analysis with the help of the OpenMEE application. Data analysis by calculating the Effect Size (ES) value from the mean value, Standard Deviation (SD), and number of samples (N) from each article analyzed. The overall average effect size is 3.801 in the high category (ES ≥ 0.8), and the P-Value value is <0.001, which means that the use of teaching materials provides significant effectiveness in critical thinking skills because the P-Value value is higher. smaller than 0.05. Meanwhile, the results of the heterogeneity test show that the Tauˆ2 value is 4.091, and the Het P-Value value is <0.001, which means it is significant. So it can be said that the Q statistic from the 17 studies has a variety of variances with diversity that is classified as very high with an Iˆ2 value reaching 97.1%, so there is potential for moderator variable analysis to be carried out. Furthermore, the effect size value based on level of education obtained an average effect size at the high school education level of 9.196, higher than other levels of education, which means that the use of teaching materials is more effective when used at the high school level compared to elementary, middle school and other educational levels. University, with P-Value < 0.001, which means that the use of teaching materials in high school provides significant effectiveness.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the effectiveness of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) learning model in improving student learning outcomes at the elementary, middle and high school levels. The research method used is meta-analysis by re-analyzing articles from 19 research results that have been published, and can be accessed online, which were published in 2014-2023. The results of this meta-analysis research show that the effect size value at the high school level is 1,350, at the elementary school level is 2,636, and at the junior high school level is 4,727. From the effect size analysis, it can be concluded that the implementation of the PjBL learning model has proven effective in improving student learning outcomes at the elementary, middle and high school levels.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effectiveness of interactive multimedia on student learning outcomes by analyzing 15 articles that can be accessed from Google Scholar, Garuda, and Mendeley. These articles were published in non-accredited journals, accredited Sinta, and indexed by Copernicus or Scopus with 5 different sample levels, namely: Elementary School, Middle School, High School, Vocational High School, and College. The use of interactive multimedia contains text, graphics, audio and moving images (video) which can be displayed via projector and laptop screens. This research method uses a meta-analysis method, namely by comparing research data from control and experimental groups in the form of sample size (N), Standard Deviation (SD), and learning outcomes (X). The data was analyzed statistically to see the effect size value. Based on the results of the analysis test, it was found that from the 15 articles analyzed, the average effect size was 1.146 with a P-Value < 0.001 (P-Value < 0.05), which means that learning using multimedia is very effective or has an influence on student learning outcomes. Next, to see at which level the effectiveness value is higher, the analysis results found that the estimated value at the elementary school level was 1.719 (more effective), followed by the tertiary level with an estimate of 1.707.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the increase in biodiversity literacy skills based on learning methods and level of education. Apart from that, this research also analyzes indicators of biodiversity literacy. The research analyzed 8 reputable international journals with 6 learning methods, 4 levels of education, and 10 biodiversity literacy assessment indicators. The research was carried out with meta analysis in the form of effect size analysis using the OpenMEE application. The research results stated that, based on the analysis of 8 reputable international journals, the estimated Effect Size (ES) value was 0.357 in the medium category (0.2 ≤ ES ≤ 0.8) and the p-Value < 0.001. Meanwhile, heterogeneous analysis shows that the Tau^2 value is 0.127 with an I^2 of 89.434, meaning that the diversity of variance from the journal studies analyzed has a very significant effect. Meanwhile, the results of the effect size analysis based on the learning model stated that there were 3 learning methods that obtained an estimated Effect Size (ES) value in the high category, including: Green Learning Method (GeLem) obtained an estimated effect size value of 3.797, a learning method based on local wisdom obtained a value The estimated effect size was 1.665, and the Virtual Field Trip assisted by Augmented Reality obtained an estimated effect size value of 0.974. Furthermore, the results of the effect size analysis of biodiversity literacy abilities at various levels of education stated that high school students had higher biodiversity literacy abilities compared to other levels of education, namely 1.281 in the high category (ES ³ 0.8). This research also analyzes the effect size value based on biodiversity literacy indicators. Based on 10 biodiversity literacy indicators, only one indicator shows the highest estimated effect size value compared to other indicators, namely the environmental knowledge indicator of 1.813. Thus, it can be concluded that there is a significant influence in increasing biodiversity literacy skills based on learning methods and level of education.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan dan menjelaskan kajian etnosains dalam proses pembuatan batu bata tradisional di Desa Tukadmungga sebagai penunjang pembelajaran IPA SMP. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan jenis penelitian etnosains. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Dusun Dharma Kerti, Desa Tukadmungga karena masih mempertahankan eksistensi pembuatan batu bata secara tradisional. Sumber data penelitian ini menggunakan teknik purposive sampling dengan subjek yang dilibatkan, yaitu 2 orang pengrajin dan seorang pengusaha batu bata tradisional di Desa Tukadmungga serta 2 orang Guru IPA di SMP Negeri 4 Singaraja. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi dan angket. Teknik analisis data menggunakan model Miles dan Huberman meliputi reduksi data, penyajian data, serta penarikan simpulan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian alat-alat yang digunakan dalam pembuatan batu bata tradisional di Desa Tukadmungga, diantaranya tambah (cangkul), sidi (saringan/pengayak), jangka (alat cetak bata), pengautan (rautan), tulud/pengeteban (alat penghentak), dan tiuk (pisau). Selain alat, bahan-bahan yang dibutuhkan diantaranya adalah tanah liat, air, abu, kemudian bahan bakar seperti, sambuk (sabut kelapa) dan saang (kayu bakar). Proses pembuatan batu bata di Desa Tukadmungga terbagi atas beberapa tahapan. Tahap pertama adalah ngekum (penyiapan adonan), dilanjutkan tahap nyangka (pencetakan), kemudian nyemuh (penjemuran tahap I), ngetebin (penghentakan), ngerikin (pengikisan), nyemuh (penjemuran tahap II), dan terakhir nunjel (pembakaran). Hasil kajian sains ilmiah berdasarkan sains asli masyarakat dalam proses pembuatan batu bata tradisional di Desa Tukadmungga yang dapat digunakan sebagai bahan penunjang pembelajaran IPA SMP diantaranya adalah klasifikasi materi dan perubahannya, kalor dan perpindahannya, pencemaran lingkungan, sistem gerak pada manusia, usaha dan pesawat sederhana, tekanan zat, dan tanah dan keberlangsungan kehidupan.

Abstract

This research is quantitative research with meta- analysis methods. The aim of this research is to describe the effectiveness of the project learning model on student creativity. The research sample consisted of 10 articles in the accredited national journal Sinta. All articles are the result of research on physical learning in the science group at the high school level. The data analysis technique used is calculating the effect size value. Based on the results of the meta- analysis, it was found that the average total effect size value was 1.55 with a standard deviation of 0.83, which was in the very high category. This shows that the problem-based learning model is effective in increasing student creativity. The results further show that the project-based learning model is also effective at various levels of high school and various physics subject matter.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis relevansi budaya lokal dengan materi kimia SMA sebagai upaya untuk mengembangkan perangkat pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing berbasis budaya. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif. Objek penelitian ini adalah budaya lokal yang relevan dengan materi kimia SMA. Data dikumpulkan dari dua sumber, yaitu dokumen dan pendapat masyarakat. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa budaya lokal yang relevan dengan materi kimia SMA dapat dikelompokan ke dalam bidang: (1) keagamaan, meliputi: ritual megat benang dan tusuk keris dalam upacara pewiwahan, abhiseka, melasti, ngaben, mecaru, panca mahabhuta, dan pancadhatu (2) pangan meliputi: pembuatan garam dapur, arak, tuak, cuka, gula merah, daluman dan santan, pelunakan daging, serta pemeraman buah pisang; (3) kerajinan tradisional, meliputi: perawatan keris pusaka, penyepuhan emas, dan pembuatan bokor dan dulang; (4) kesehatan, meliputi: cetik kerawang, obat penghentian candu, obat sengatan lebah, obat gigitan ular, dan nginang; dan (5) pertanian, yaitu pestisida alami. Budaya lokal ini dapat diintegrasikan dalam perangkat pembelajaran kimia SMA untuk mendukung pelaksanaan pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing berbasis budaya.

Abstract

This research was aimed to describe (1) student’s chemistry learning disabilities and (2) the cause factors of student’s learning disabilities to understanding buffer solution topic at SMA Negeri 2 Kuta. The subjects of this research were 198 students from all class XI MIPA  and 3 chemistry teachers at SMA Negeri 2 Kuta. Method used in the research was qualitative method. The data were student’s learning achievement and information about the cause factor of student’s learning disabilities in learning buffer solution topic. The data were collected by using two-tier multiple choice test and interview. The result of this research showed that (1) student’s learning disabilities in each indicator was ranged between less difficult and most difficult and (2) the factor that cause student’s learning disabilities include internal factor and external factor. Internal factor that caused learning disabilities namely less learning interest toward chemistry, less learning motivation toward chemistry, less understanding toward buffer solution concept, less understanding toward supporting concepts of buffer solution topic, and student’s less mathematic ability. The external factor that caused learning disabilities namely negative effect of friend at same age, inadequate learning supported facilities, and teacher’s teaching method.
