Abstract

This study examines the relationships among organizational culture, effective leadership, and work commitment in predicting teachers' Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB) in A-accredited public senior high schools in Bogor Regency, Indonesia. The research addresses a critical gap in understanding how these factors collectively influence teachers' discretionary behaviors amid educational transformation challenges. A quantitative correlational design was employed, with data collected from 128 civil servant teachers (PPPK) across 13 schools using validated questionnaires. Reliability coefficients exceeded 0.70 for all instruments. Simple and multiple regression analyses were conducted to examine individual and collective effects. The findings revealed that organizational culture demonstrated the strongest individual effect on OCB (R² = 0.310, r = 0.557, p < 0.001), followed by work commitment (R² = 0.132, r = 0.363, p < 0.001) and effective leadership (R² = 0.101, r = 0.317, p < 0.05). However, in the multiple regression model, organizational culture emerged as the only statistically significant predictor (β = 0.251, p < 0.001), while effective leadership (p = 0.061) and work commitment (p = 0.358) became non-significant. The three variables collectively explained 33.7% of OCB variance (R² = 0.337, F = 21.027, p < 0.001), suggesting that organizational culture functions as the primary mechanism through which leadership and commitment influence teachers' discretionary behaviors. These findings indicate that strengthening organizational culture should be the primary strategy for enhancing teacher OCB, with leadership development and commitment-building serving as complementary approaches. The study contributes empirical evidence to organizational behavior theory in educational contexts and provides actionable guidance for enhancing teacher performance and organizational effectiveness.

Abstract

Scientific literacy is a fundamental skill needed to prepare students for 21st-century demands. Despite its importance, Indonesia’s 2022 PISA results indicate that students’ scientific literacy remains below the international standard, mainly due to teachers’ limited ability to design literacy-based assessments. This study aims to develop and evaluate the effectiveness of the Blended Learning for Assessment and Scientific Literacy (BLAST-SCI) model, integrated with a Professional Learning Community (PLC), in improving junior high school science teachers’ competence in developing scientific literacy assessments. Using a Research and Development (RD) approach adapted from the ADDIE framework, the study involved 30 science teachers from Bogor City. Data were collected through observation, interviews, questionnaires, and document analysis, which is analyzed using paired t-tests, N-Gain, ANOVA, and Aiken’s V. The findings show that the PLC-integrated BLAST-SCI model significantly improved teachers’ competence, as indicated by meaningful pretest–posttest differences (p 0.05), high N-Gain scores (73–84%), and increased instrument validity (Aiken’s V = 0.817). Participants gave positive responses to the model’s materials, facilitation, and relevance. In conclusion, the PLC-integrated BLAST-SCI model is valid, effective, and practical for professional development, contributing to the enhancement of teachers’ assessment literacy and promoting students’ scientific literacy through contextual and high-quality assessments.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of organizational support and servant leadership on work productivity, both directly and indirectly through work motivation as a mediating variable. A quantitative approach with a survey method was employed by involving 164 permanent faculty members of the University of Muhammadiyah Jakarta as the sample. Data collection techniques was conducted using questionnaires, and path analysis was performed for data analysis. The results indicate that organizational support (β = 0.309), servant leadership (β = 0.375), and work motivation (β = 0.149) have a direct positive, and significant influence on work productivity. Additionally, organizational support (β = 0.338) and servant leadership (β = 0.303) also exert a direct positive and significant influence on work motivation. Work motivation mediates the relationship between organizational support (β = 0.050) and servant leadership (β = 0.045) on work productivity, although this mediating influence is less effective than the direct influences, which are more dominant. The findings offer recommendations for faculties and stakeholders to enhance work productivity in achieving the Three Principles (Tri Dharma) of Higher Education through strategies that strengthen organizational support, servant leadership, and work motivation.
