Abstract

This study examines the relationships among organizational culture, effective leadership, and work commitment in predicting teachers' Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB) in A-accredited public senior high schools in Bogor Regency, Indonesia. The research addresses a critical gap in understanding how these factors collectively influence teachers' discretionary behaviors amid educational transformation challenges. A quantitative correlational design was employed, with data collected from 128 civil servant teachers (PPPK) across 13 schools using validated questionnaires. Reliability coefficients exceeded 0.70 for all instruments. Simple and multiple regression analyses were conducted to examine individual and collective effects. The findings revealed that organizational culture demonstrated the strongest individual effect on OCB (R² = 0.310, r = 0.557, p < 0.001), followed by work commitment (R² = 0.132, r = 0.363, p < 0.001) and effective leadership (R² = 0.101, r = 0.317, p < 0.05). However, in the multiple regression model, organizational culture emerged as the only statistically significant predictor (β = 0.251, p < 0.001), while effective leadership (p = 0.061) and work commitment (p = 0.358) became non-significant. The three variables collectively explained 33.7% of OCB variance (R² = 0.337, F = 21.027, p < 0.001), suggesting that organizational culture functions as the primary mechanism through which leadership and commitment influence teachers' discretionary behaviors. These findings indicate that strengthening organizational culture should be the primary strategy for enhancing teacher OCB, with leadership development and commitment-building serving as complementary approaches. The study contributes empirical evidence to organizational behavior theory in educational contexts and provides actionable guidance for enhancing teacher performance and organizational effectiveness.

Abstract

Scientific literacy is a fundamental skill needed to prepare students for 21st-century demands. Despite its importance, Indonesia’s 2022 PISA results indicate that students’ scientific literacy remains below the international standard, mainly due to teachers’ limited ability to design literacy-based assessments. This study aims to develop and evaluate the effectiveness of the Blended Learning for Assessment and Scientific Literacy (BLAST-SCI) model, integrated with a Professional Learning Community (PLC), in improving junior high school science teachers’ competence in developing scientific literacy assessments. Using a Research and Development (RD) approach adapted from the ADDIE framework, the study involved 30 science teachers from Bogor City. Data were collected through observation, interviews, questionnaires, and document analysis, which is analyzed using paired t-tests, N-Gain, ANOVA, and Aiken’s V. The findings show that the PLC-integrated BLAST-SCI model significantly improved teachers’ competence, as indicated by meaningful pretest–posttest differences (p 0.05), high N-Gain scores (73–84%), and increased instrument validity (Aiken’s V = 0.817). Participants gave positive responses to the model’s materials, facilitation, and relevance. In conclusion, the PLC-integrated BLAST-SCI model is valid, effective, and practical for professional development, contributing to the enhancement of teachers’ assessment literacy and promoting students’ scientific literacy through contextual and high-quality assessments.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of organizational support and servant leadership on work productivity, both directly and indirectly through work motivation as a mediating variable. A quantitative approach with a survey method was employed by involving 164 permanent faculty members of the University of Muhammadiyah Jakarta as the sample. Data collection techniques was conducted using questionnaires, and path analysis was performed for data analysis. The results indicate that organizational support (β = 0.309), servant leadership (β = 0.375), and work motivation (β = 0.149) have a direct positive, and significant influence on work productivity. Additionally, organizational support (β = 0.338) and servant leadership (β = 0.303) also exert a direct positive and significant influence on work motivation. Work motivation mediates the relationship between organizational support (β = 0.050) and servant leadership (β = 0.045) on work productivity, although this mediating influence is less effective than the direct influences, which are more dominant. The findings offer recommendations for faculties and stakeholders to enhance work productivity in achieving the Three Principles (Tri Dharma) of Higher Education through strategies that strengthen organizational support, servant leadership, and work motivation.

Abstract

This study explores strategies to enhance teacher performance using a local-expertise variable approach, with a focus on the local tradition of gotong royong (cooperation). Previous research has overlooked the impact of local customs on teacher performance. The research applies Human Resource Strengthening Modeling and Optimization (POP-SDM) and a multi-stage random sampling technique, involving 124 teachers from 9 private vocational schools in Bekasi Regency. Data analysis employs SEM-PLS 3 for path analysis, testing 7 direct and 3 indirect influences. The study integrates local expertise to improve teacher productivity by accounting for local customs. SITOREM analysis identifies the following prioritized areas for improvement: Salary/Income, Working Conditions, Promotion Opportunities, and Supervision, among others. The results show that 4 direct-effect hypotheses were accepted and 3 rejected, while 2 indirect effects were accepted and 1 rejected. The findings suggest that enhancing teacher performance requires focusing on job satisfaction, knowledge management, communication, and cooperation. By addressing the order of indicators identified through SITOREM, optimal solutions for improving teacher performance can be developed. This research emphasizes the importance of integrating local traditions into modern educational practices.

Abstract

This research aims to investigate junior high school students’ sustainability literacy in science learning at environmentally based schools and non-environmentally based schools. This research is quantitative and uses a survey method. The participants are 902 students from three non-environmentally oriented school-based junior high schools and three environmentally oriented school-based junior high schools in West Java. Research data were gathered via a survey questionnaire comprising 25 closed-ended statements and 2 open-ended questions, both of which were valid and reliable. Data analysis of closed statements using the RASCH model by categorizing sustainability literacy using a logit value person (LVP) design. The data analysis of open-ended questions uses Voyant Tools, a website that can digitally read and analyze text. The results showed that students' sustainability literacy in both types of schools was moderate, with averages of 77.2 and 76.9. The highest scoring aspect is awareness of environmentally friendly practices. In contrast, the lowest aspect is waste management habits, and the aspect that students in environmentally school-based settings have, with lower levels than in non-environmentally school-based settings, is environmental action and advocacy for sustainable practices. This research highlighted that junior high school students’ sustainability literacy profiles are still in the moderate category across both school categories and need improvement. Keywords: sustainability literacy; junior high school; environmentally based school; sains learning
