Abstract

Today eco-friendly rice farming system becomes interesting agribusiness among farmers, traders and regulators. The use of organic fertilizers as one of eco-friendly components in rice farming system is still low. In some rice production center the farmers of organic rice farming system looks higher than non-organic farmers. The question is: is there any difference among farmers whom use organic, semi-organic and inorganic fertilizers statistically? This research aims to know the difference of rice farmer income (organic and inorganic fertilizer) in East Ogan Komering Ulu (EastOKU), South Sumatra. The method used in this research is comparative analysis (independent t-test). The sample farmers are classified into the three clusters. The research shows that the contribution fertilizer cost from semi-organic farming is higher than full organic and inorganic farming. On the other side, t-test result shows that there is no different income among three kinds of using fertilizer.

Abstract

The existence of agricultural land is indirectly related to the environment. The existence of agricultural land in terms of environmental aspects can provide five types of benefits, namely preventing flooding, controlling water balance, preventing erosion, and reducing environmental pollution from household waste. This research aims to analyze environmental changes in the conversion of agricultural land to non-agricultural activities in Palembang City. This research uses quantitative methods, analytical quantitative research is conducted to accept or reject hypotheses that are described by significance values. The research also used qualitative methods by conducting measured interviews with 250 respondents. The research was conducted in May 2023 in three sub-districts in Palembang City, namely Kalidoni, Kertapati, and Gandus sub-districts. The environmental indicators used as a reference include water quality, air quality, soil conditions, traffic conditions, runoff water conditions, plant conditions, and animal conditions. The results showed that the condition of plant environmental quality in the Gandus and Kalidoni sub-districts is classified as poor, while the Kertapati sub-district is in the good category. While the condition of the environmental quality of animal indicators in the Kertapati and Kalidoni sub-districts is in the good enough category, but in the Gandus sub-district it is in the bad category. Dragonfly populations will be high if the habitat conditions are very suitable. This means that there are still streams or puddles that are still clean and food is available. This clean water is the place for dragonfly eggs and images for further development. So if the dragonfly population at a location is still high, it means that the water conditions at that location are still not polluted.

Abstract

Currently the learning system based on Information and Communication Technology (ICT) has been growing. The Open University (UT) has been using e-learning in the provision of learning support services. Online tutorials (Tuton) is one form of e-learning provided UT. Since the registration period of 2013.1-2014.2, the number of courses offered in Tuton increased by 11% and participants also increased by 52%. Although Tuton has been growing rapidly, the total number of students has declined from the registration period of 2013.1 to 2015.1. Such a decrease can be justified as an indicator of lack of loyalty or retention of students. The main objective of this study is to test the relationship between the antecedents of loyalty, service quality, commitment, satisfaction, and reputation. The study population comes from four faculties and one graduate program. Nonprobability method of sampling with judgmental sampling technique is used in this study. The minimum required sample size is 200 respondents. Survey data collection is conducted by inviting respondents by email to fill out a questionnaire online in google site. Then the data were analyzed both descriptively and quantitatively using descriptive analysis and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). Results of hypothesis testing showed that 6 of 7 hypothesis were accepted with significant results. These sixth hypothesis are1) the influence of the quality of services to satisfaction; 2) the effect of the reputation on the quality of services; 3) the effect of commitment to student satisfaction; 4) the effect of satisfaction on reputation; 5) the effect of satisfaction on loyalty; and 6) the effect of reputation on loyalty.
