Abstract

Studies on General English topics that are pertinent to Generation Z are scarce, particularly in Indonesia. This study, thus, intends to examine the framework of questions on what the relevant general English topics are for Generation Z English learners. The census was implemented with quantitative-descriptive as an approach for this investigation. Additionally, this study used an online questionnaire shared using Google Forms to 680 first-year students out of 1560 targeted participants to collect data. The final statistics of this study were displayed by dividing the total number of responses into percentages using Microsoft Excel 2010. The findings of this analysis revealed that the topics of Introduction and Daily Activity were the most popular topics. Giving directions is also the least interesting subject, followed by describing places, procedural text, and reviews of popular tourist destinations. These topics are disliked for a variety of reasons, such as confusion, trouble understanding the language, limited vocabulary, beginner-level skills. Furthermore, the majority of the participants thought the topics of Introduction, Daily Activity, and Procedural Text (What to Need) were quite relevant. The reviews of tourist destinations and Living abroad, on the other hand, scored lower for relevancy. The results imply that Generation Z English learners favor subjects that are simple to study, have practical uses, and use basic, everyday language. Based upon the investigation, exploring potential strategies or approaches that could make these topics more engaging and relevant to Generation Z learners could also be explored in future research.

Abstract

The aim of this research is First, Description and analysis of teacher and student collaboration in Improving Discipline Character at Darul Mujahidin Plus Tahfiz Islamic Elementary School. Second, description and analysis of collaboration between teachers and parents in improving discipline character at Darul Mujahidin Islamic elementary School. Third, description and analysis of collaboration between teachers, students and parents in improving discipline character at Darul Mujahidin Islamic elementary School. In this research, researchers used a qualitative approach. Data collection was carried out using unstructured interviews, observation and documentation. The research informants were the chairman of the foundation, deputy principal, teachers, students and parents at the Plus Tahfiz Darul Mujahidin Islamic Elementary School. After the data is obtained, it is then analyzed, while the steps for processing qualitative descriptive data are by means of data reduction, data display, conclusions and data verification. In this research the researcher found several findings (1) Teacher and Student Collaboration in Improving Discipline Character in Elementary Schools (2) Teacher and Parent Collaboration in Improving Discipline Character in Elementary Schools school committees, communication, home visits and student parent meetings and teachers (GROUP). (3) Collaboration between Teachers, Students and Parents in Improving Discipline Character in Elementary Schools through counseling guidance, home visits, and through contact books.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk  mengidentifikasi kemampuan berbicara efektif yang harus dimiliki oleh anggota Polri dalam penyampaian pesan kamtibmas kepada pelajar. Mendeskripsikan faktor-faktor yang dapat mempengaruhi kemampuan berbicara efektif anggota Polri dalam penyampaian pesan kamtibmas kepada pelajar dan mendeskripsikan kemampuan berbicara efektif anggota Polri dalam penyampaian pesan kamtibmas kepada pelajar. Metode penelitian yang digunakan metode kualitatif, penelitian bertempat di MAN 1 Lombok Timur. Teknik  pengumpulan  data. Tekhnik  pengumpulan  data  melalui  observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Instrument penelitian. Lembar wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data. Analisis sebelum lapangan, reduksi data, penyajian data, penarikan kesimpulan. Kesimpulan kemampuan berbicara anggota Polri dalam menyampaikan pesan Kamtibmas kepada pelajar di MAN 1 Lombok Timur meliputi kemampuan dalam menguasai diri, materi dan lingkungan. Penguasaan diri dalam mengendalikan emosi, pikiran, dan perilaku saat melakukan interaksi terutama dalam situasi sulit dan menantang mampu meningkatkan kepercayaan diri, mampu menyampaikan pesan dengan jelas dan terstruktur. Penguasaan diri yang baik mampu beradaptasi dengan lingkungan sehingga dalam berbicara dapat menyesuaiakan gaya bicara sehingga terjadi hubungan yang efektif. Penguasaan materi dapat menjelaskan konsep dengan lebih rinci dan akurat, memiliki pengetahuan yang luas dapat menjawab pertanyaan dengan lebih baik dan meyakinkan.   Kata kunci: Anggota Polri,  Kemampuan Berbicara, Pelajar, Pesan Kamtibmas.

Abstract

Pragmatism could be understood as an approach whose position is equal to the other approaches in literary studies. Pragmatism focussed discussion on the role and readers functin totally. Cultural studies has to do with the whole aspects of human’s life as a method to undertand cultural changes and its effect in social life. The Text of Wasiat Renungan Masa-Pengalaman Baru as literary objection this research was understood in cultural changes and the previous phenomenon was a prat of field discusiion of cultural studies wich could be done by decoding organic structure which shapes it (diction), function (das sein=reality), and the meaning (das sollen=idealisme). Research data ws collected trough transcription tehnique because the text of Renungan Masa-Pengalaman Baru is a lingual symbol (forms) to understand meaning and function. Analysis and data interpretation used phenomenology approach. It was conclued that the pragmatism of Wasiat Renungan Masa-Pengalaman Baru composed by Hamzanwadi was understood through pattern realtions function and meaning.  Culture decentring was someone’s emotion expression to keep expectation to one he loves, communication for a reality which have to be faced, satire toward unconciousness on life reality. Pragmatism constituted idea guidance and good deeds, direction and goal of noble strugle, warning to the unappropriate events, inspirations the new appropriate  one, basic and good behaviour standard in choosing and selecting life struggle instruments.  Key words: Wasiat Renungan Masa-Pengalaman Baru, Pragmatism, Culture Studies

Abstract

This study aims to develop local-based children's literature teaching materials and students' creative thinking skills and to describe creative thinking skills through local wisdom-based on children's literature teaching materials. This research is a development research. This study develpos the of children's literature teaching materials based on local wisdom and creative thinking that is adopted from the ADDIE development model which consists of the Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation stages. The study was carried out on a small scale and a large scale by conducting validation first, namely: 1) linguist validation, the score obtained was 26 in the interval (23 < X (29) with the category "Good" an average of 74; 2) expert material validation, the score obtained is 51 in the interval X > 50. with the category "Very Good" an average of 85; 3) designexpert validation, the score obtained is 65 at interval X > (59) with an average of 95. The research instruments used were student learning outcomes tests, student response questionnaires, and observation sheets. Data analysis was carried out by converting quantitative data to qualitative data using a scale of five. Analysis of student learning outcomes test data was carried out by determining the percentage of minimum completeness criteria. This research produces children's literature teaching materials based on local wisdom and creative thinking for V (fifth) grade students very suitable category to use.Keywords: Teaching Materials, Children's Literature, Local Wisdom, Critical Thinking

Abstract

Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif kualitatif karena mendeskripsikan data-data kualitatif berupa data verbal kebahasaan dan gambaran mengenai informasi yang didapatkan di lapangan dengan maksud menafsirkan fenomena yang terjadi. Data dari penelitian ini adalah data verbal berupa data lisan yaitu percakapan. Sumber datanya tidak lain adalah masyarakat Desa sembalun sendiri. Pengumpulan datanya dilakukan dengan jalan melibatkan berbagai metodedan teknik yang ada salah satunya adalah metode observasi (teknik sadap dan teknik simak libat cakap) dan metode wawancara. Data dari peristiwa tutur dalam penelitian ini memperlihatkan bahwa penggunaan bahasa tertentu “Basa Alus” hanya ditentukan berdasarkan tingkatan sosial tertentu dan usia, seperti kelompok masyarakat yang bergelar “Lalu”, “Baiq”, “Lale”, “Raden”, atau sesepuh masyarakat dan adat.Seiring dengan kemajuan zaman dan tingkat berpikir masyarakat secara global, perubahan cara berbahasa mereka berubah, penempatan “Basa Alus” tidak hanya ditujukan pada satu kalangan tertentu, melainkan melihat dari jenis pekerjaan dan jabatan professional yang diembannya.

Abstract

The study focuses on three critical aspects of reading: content comprehension, reading speed, and reading effectiveness. The objective is to understand the literacy competence of these students based on PIRLS parameters and to propose recommendations for enhancing their reading literacy. Data was gathered through reading tests, observations, and interviews. The findings reveal that the student's ability to comprehend reading content falls into the low category, at 0.51%, compared to 15%, 19%, and 24% in IEA countries. Their reading speed is moderate, averaging 151.1 words per minute, within the national average range of 130-180 words per minute. However, according to PIRLS, their reading effectiveness is low, at 34.9%, compared to the 60-80% standard in IEA member countries; the low level of content comprehension, reading effectiveness, and moderate reading speed level can be attributed to external factors. These include the perception of teachers, parents, society, and the government that reading merely involves stringing words together in a broader grammatical context. Internally, students are encouraged to read fluently to gather factual information and to measure the number of words read within a specific timeframe. This study underscores the need for a comprehensive approach to improve reading literacy among fourth-grade students in East Lombok.

Abstract

Development of Mind Mapping Model Teaching Materials in Improving Writing Skills for Students of SDN 1 Setanggor Selatan This development research aims to: (1) produce teaching materials in the form of modules to improve students' ability to make mind mapping, (2) produce appropriate modules to improve students' ability to make mind mapping, and (3) produce effective modules to improve students' abilities. in making mind maps. This development research refers to the development design steps developed by Dick & Carey (2009:6-8). The development design is grouped into five development procedures, which include (a) Requirements Analysis Phase, (b) Product Design Phase (c) Phase, (d) Validation and Evaluation (e) Final Product Phase. The product trial consisted of an alpha test conducted by two material experts and two media experts, as well as a beta test which was carried out in 2 stages, namely beta 1 test (small group trial) to 6 grade VI students and beta 2 test (large group trial). ) to 26 students of class VI. Collecting data using interview guidelines, observations, questionnaires for material experts, questionnaires for media experts, and student response questionnaires. This research (1) produces teaching materials in the form of modules equipped with instructions for use as learning resources to support Indonesian language learning, (2) the resulting product is considered very feasible to improve students' ability to make mind mapping based on the assessment of material experts, media experts, and test subjects, and (3) the resulting product is effective in increasing students' ability to make mind mapping, as evidenced by the average pretest score of 22.65, an increase in the posttest of 74.23 with a gain score of 0.71

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menumbuhkan literasi membaca cerita legenda sasak dan mengetahui minat baca peserta didik dalam membaca cerita legenda sasak. Penelitian ini dilaksakan di SD Negeri 2 Menceh. Subjek penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas 5 yang berjumlah 25 orang peserta didik. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian deskriptif berupa kata-kata tertulis maupun lisan dari orang-orang dan prilaku yang diamati. Tehnik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah berupa deskriptif melalui obsevasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data yang digunakan peneliti beruapa reduksi data, penyajian data dan penartikan kesimpulan. Tehnik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah berupa deskriptif melalui obsevasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data yang digunakan peneliti beruapa reduksi data, penyajian data dan penartikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa peserta didik kelas 5 SD Negeri 2 Menceh terdapat sebagain siswa mengetahui cerita legenda sasak dan sebagain siswa yang tidak menegatahui cerita legenda sasak dikarnakan peserta didik sebagaian minat masih kurang dalam membaca.

Abstract

The Assistance of candidate Teacher Mover is a forum for developing the competence of leader learning in driving the educational ecosystem, encouraging learning innovation, and strengthening teacher commitment and motivation. The workshop activity aims to identify and explore the potential of candidate teacher mover through Junior High School (SMPN) 1 Selong workshop activities. The devotional method is evaluation and collaboration between practical teacher and candidate teacher mover. The assistance results showed that the workshop activities at SMPN 1 Selong effectively explored the potential of teacher mover. During these activities, the candidate teacher mover is challenged to work in groups, lead discussions, and manage projects individually so that this activity develops leadership skills, teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving. In addition, through these workshop activities, students also better-understood education and the role of a teacher. They can observe how teachers facilitate the learning process, face a problem in teaching, and interact with students. Through this activity, the candidate teacher mover can develop leadership skills and practical knowledge needed in the teacher profession. Hopefully, this approach can be widely applied in other schools to support improving the quality of education in the digital era.
