Abstract

Biogas is renewable energy that can be used as substitute of LPG and generator fuel. The utilization of waste into biogas has been implemented in Tadukan Raga Village, Sinembah Tanjung Muda (STM) Hilir District, Deli Serdang Regency since 2018 by building a facility for processing biomass into biogas by utilize rumen waste and cow dung at pilot scale. This facility has been handed over by the Ministry of Environment and Forestry to the community to manage independently. However, there is a problem in the lack of understanding of the community in the management, development and maintenance of this facility. This problem resulted in the abandonment of the biogas plant so that production and operations not running and some equipment requiring repairs. The purpose of this program is to strengthen and empower observer groups and users of biogas production facilities in Tadukan Raga Village. Therefore it is necessary to carry out: an analysis of the sustainability of the biogas plant program and the use of biogas as an alternative to overcoming livestock manure pollution in the program of Desa Binaan USU 2022, repair of biogas reactor and piping and the use of biogas stoves modified from LPG stoves.

Abstract

This service discusses the strategic role of Dharma Wanita Sahabat Kampus (DWP) and the Task Force for the Prevention and Handling of Sexual Violence (Satgas PPKS) in addressing sexual violence within the University of North Sumatra (USU). DWP USU plays a key role in socialization, training, and advocacy to create a safe and supportive campus culture. The USU PPKS Task Force, through socialization and education activities, aims to raise awareness and involve the entire campus community in the prevention and handling of sexual violence. Data shows that sexual violence at USU, especially between lecturers and students, requires concrete action. The socialization of DWP and PPKS Task Force covers aspects of definition, impact, reporting procedures, and the role of ASN wives in supporting policy implementation. Through this collaboration, it is hoped that a campus environment free of sexual violence will be established and empower the entire academic community. This journal details the concrete steps, embracing the active participation of DWP, PPKS Task Force, and other campus elements to achieve these goals.

Abstract

This article explores the ASTACITA Summit 2025 as an initial model of pentahelix-based collaboration for rural development, focusing on the tourism village of Kuta Gugung in North Sumatra, Indonesia. The summit was conceived as a strategic platform to foster long-term partnerships among five key actors’ government, academia, business, community, and media to empower rural communities in a participatory and sustainable manner. Unlike conventional aid-based programs, ASTACITA emphasizes knowledge transfer, network-building, and multi-sector synergy to promote self-reliance. Using a qualitative descriptive method with a case study approach, data were collected through participant observation, informal interviews, and documentation of summit activities. Results show that ASTACITA effectively enabled cross-sector dialogue, identified community needs and potentials, and catalyzed early-stage partnerships. The summit marked a shift in development discourse from charity-driven to strategy-oriented engagement positioning the village as a co-actor in shaping its own future. This article contributes to the discourse on rural innovation and participatory governance by offering a replicable framework for collaborative village development in Indonesia and beyond.

Master's degree students in professional psychology are vulnerable to experiencing constraints and obstacles during their educational journey, which can lead to the emergence of academic stress. This study aims to investigate the role of social support in moderating the relationship between hardiness and academic stress among master's degree students in professional psychology. Accidental sampling, which is a nonprobability sampling technique, is used in the sampling method. The participants consisted of 225 master's degree students in professional psychology in Indonesia who were currently enrolled in the Praktik Kerja Profesi Psikologi (PKPP) and/or Thesis. The research instruments utilized three scales: the academic stress scale, the hardiness scale, and the social support scale. The data were analyzed using moderation regression analysis. The findings of the study indicate that (1) there is an influence of hardiness on academic stress among master's degree students in Professional Psychology, (2) there is an influence of social support on academic stress among master’s degree students in Professional Psychology, and (3) Social support weakens the influence of the relationship between hardiness and academic stress on students of Master Psychology Professions.

Abstract

The present study conceptualizes “Unity in Diversity” as a condition in which individuals’ ethnic and national identities are congruent. This condition is achievable by internalizing universal-diverse orientation. The authors provide support for this idea through a cross-sectional survey (N = 400), and observed a positive relationship between individuals’ ethnic and national identities among individuals with high universal-diverse orientation. Such a relationship was absent among individuals with low universal-diverse orientation. Based on the results, the authors recommend socializing universal-diverse orientation to promote a sense of “Unity in Diversity” among individuals within a multicultural society, such as that of Indonesia.
