Abstract

This study explores the perceptions of students towards blended learning using YouTube as a teaching tool. Blended learning, which combines traditional face-to-face teaching with online methods, has emerged as a promising approach to address these challenges. Blended learning allows students to access course materials and engage in activities both in the classroom and through digital platforms like YouTube. This study, conducted at Ekasakti University with 54 students divided into three groups, employed questionnaires, interviews, and observations to gather comprehensive data. The findings indicate a generally positive perception among students towards the use of YouTube in blended learning. Students recognize the benefits of YouTube in enhancing language learning experiences, as evidenced by high mean scores for statements emphasizing its effectiveness. However, concerns were raised regarding certain aspects of using YouTube, reflected in consistently low mean scores for specific statements across all groups. Addressing these concerns is crucial for optimizing the effectiveness of blended learning with YouTube and ensuring its successful integration into educational practices. Overall, while students largely appreciate the benefits of blended learning with YouTube, addressing their concerns is essential to further enhance its effectiveness and promote student engagement and learning outcomes.

Abstract

The present study evaluates the catalytic activity of SiO2/Al2O3‒x and SiO2/Al2O3‒x‒NiMo (where x = 5, 10, 25 g of aluminium weight) synthesized using a potassium hydrogen phthalate (KHP) template-assisted route for the hydrocracking of crude palm oil (CPO) into biofuels. Increasing Al weight modified acidity, porosity, and NiMo dispersion, leading to distinct catalytic behavior. The optimal SiO2/Al2O3‒x‒NiMo catalyst (10 g Al) achieved ~94% conversion, dominated by jet fuel-range hydrocarbons (C10-C14) through synergistic hydrodeoxygenation and acid-catalyzed cracking-isomerization pathway. The enhanced performance originates from the balance between acidity and metal dispersion, highlighting that both template selection and Al loading govern the design of efficient SiO2/Al2O3‒NiMo catalysts for biofuel production. Abstract

This research aims to evaluate the effect of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance disclosure on the stock performance of companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) during the 2018-2022 period, using the price earning ratio (PER) as an indicator of stock performance. The research population includes companies listed on the IDX with ESG scores from the Thomson Reuters Eikon Database during the period studied. The research sample of 190 companies was selected using a purposive sampling technique. The data analysis method used is Panel Data Regression Analysis with the help of STATA 14 for Windows software. The research results show that environmental performance partially has a positive and significant influence on stock performance, while social and governance performance has no significant influence. Simultaneously, environmental, social, and governance performance variables influence the company's stock performance. This research implies that companies on the IDX can improve their stock performance by paying attention to environmental performance aspects. Even though social and governance performance does not partially show a significant influence, attention to these three aspects can improve overall stock performance. These findings provide insight to practitioners, regulators, and investors regarding the importance of ESG disclosure in the context of the Indonesian capital market.

Abstract

Banana stem waste is a source of lignocellulose biomass with a high cellulose content and abundant availability in Indonesia. In this work, we investigated the effect of time and temperature on the decrease in rate of lignin in lignocellulose. Banana stem waste was pretreated with alkaline and alkaline microwave-assisted so that the percentage of lignin contained in lignocellulose biomass were reduced and the percentage of cellulose were increased. In alkaline pretreatment, 6% KOH is added to lignocellulose and heated to a hotplate during contact time variation (10, 20, 30, 40, and 50 min) with temperature variations (55, 65, 75, 85, and 95 oC). In pretreatment, an alkaline microwave–assisted 6% KOH solution was added to lignocellulose and heated for 20 min with temperature variations (55, 65, 75, 85, and 95 oC), then was put into a microwave that has a wave power of 360 Hz with variations in contact time (55, 65, 75, 85 and 95 min). After pretreatment, the sample was analyzed using the Chesson method to determine the percentage of cellulose, hemicellulose and lignin. Analysis showed that alkaline and microwave-assisted alkaline pretreatments effectively reduce the lignin percentage and increase the cellulose percentage in lignocellulose. The most remarkable performance in both pretreatments was obtained when working at 95 oC with a contact time of 50 min. Based on process optimization, it was concluded that microwave-assisted alkaline pretreatment reduced the percentage of lignin more and increased the percentage of cellulose compared to alkaline KOH pretreatment, which decreased the rate of lignin by 43.26% and increased the rate of cellulose by 60.68%. For further research, it can be continued to the next process, namely hydrolysis to produce glucose as a raw material for the bioethanol production process.

Abstract

This study was conducted to investigate how Audit Quality, Profitability, Leverage, Information Asymmetry, and Tax Planning influence Earnings Management. It also aims to understand how Firm Size moderates or affects the impact and form of the connection among the variables that are independent and dependent. The methodological framework applied is causal comparative with a quantitative approach. Financial reports of firms within the Basic materials that are listed between 2021 and 2023 on the Indonesia Stock Exchange provided the data for this scrutiny. Employing a purposive sampling technique to select the research sample, resulting in 84 firms which satisfied the research requirements, yielding 252 observations. Multiple linear regression analysis was used to evaluate the first hypothesis, while the absolute difference test methodology was used to examine the second. The findings revealed that Audit Quality, Profitability, and Information Asymmetry did not have a major impact on Earnings Management. However, Leverage and Tax Planning had a negative impact on Earnings Management. The results also indicated that Firm Size significantly moderated the connection between Tax Planning and Earnings Management. However, Firm Size was not proven to moderate the connection among Audit Quality, Profitability, Leverage, and Information Asymmetry with Earnings Management.
