Abstract

The success key of health services in hospitals is intrinsically linked to various factors associated with nursing services. In this context, an anticipated increase in employee job satisfaction is expected to enhance performance, thereby facilitating the delivery of satisfactory service. Nurse job satisfaction is a critical determinant of nursing productivity. This study explored the relationship between leadership behavior and recognition concerning the job satisfaction of non-civil servant nurses at the Mataram City Regional General Hospital (RSUD). Employing a quantitative descriptive methodology with a cross-sectional design, the study involved a sample of 125 non-civil servant nurses. The data collected were primary, sourced from a questionnaire, and analyzed descriptively using the Chi-square test. The findings revealed a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.005) for the leadership behavior variable (X1) about job satisfaction (Y), indicating acceptance of H1, as the X2 count exceeded the X2 table (12.767 > 9.488). The contingency coefficient calculation yielded a value of 0.30, suggesting a low correlation between job satisfaction and leadership behavior. For the reward variable (X2) to job satisfaction (Y), a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05) was obtained, confirming the acceptance of H1, as the X2 count surpassed the X2 table (44.079 > 9.488). The contingency coefficient calculation produced a value of 0.50, indicating a moderate relationship between rewards and job satisfaction among non-civil servant nurses. In conclusion, the data analysis suggests that both leadership behavior and rewards positively influence the job satisfaction of non-civil servant nurses.

Abstract

ABSTRACT A significant global health challenge today is non-communicable diseases (NCDs), particularly type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), which negatively impacts productivity and quality of life. The incidence of T2DM has dramatically increased, with projections indicating that the number of sufferers could reach 783 million by 2045, reflecting shifts in modern lifestyle patterns. This disease arises from a combination of genetic and lifestyle factors, including obesity, poor diet, and impaired insulin sensitivity. The rising prevalence of T2DM among individuals of productive age (18-65 years) poses a threat to economic well-being. Effective diabetes management requires collaboration among healthcare professionals and the community to enhance prevention efforts. In Indonesia, the 2018 Riskesdas data recorded a T2DM prevalence of 10.9% in the population aged over 15 years, highlighting the need for more effective interventions.  This study employed a case-control design with simple random sampling, involving 100 participants. Data were analyzed using the Chi-Square test for bivariate analysis and multivariate logistic regression. Data collection included interviews and laboratory examinations. The analysis revealed significant risk factors for T2DM: family history of the disease (OR 4.056, p-value 0.001; 95% CI 1.673 - 9.832), obesity (OR 2.656, p-value 0.044; 95% CI 1.011 - 6.978), physical inactivity (OR 0.172, p-value 0.001; 95% CI 0.070 - 0.421), and consumption of sweet foods and drinks (OR 3.956, p-value 0.005; 95% CI 1.447 - 10.816). The conclusion is that from the risk factors of having a family history of suffering from DMT2, obesity, physical activity, and consumption of sweet foods and drinks are significant risk factors for the occurrence of type 2 diabetes mellitus and the most influential of the 4 risk factors studied is the habit of consuming sweet foods and drinks in the community in the Kuripan Health Center work area. Abstract

Abstract

Introduction: COVID-19 spread rapidly, but little is known regarding knowledge, attitudes, and practices (KAP) against COVID-19 among residents from various regions in Indonesia. This study aims to determine the level of knowledge, practice and attitudes related to COVID-19 to provide a scientific basis for the prevention and control of this major outbreak in Indonesia. Methods: Online survey with convenience sampling was conducted among urban and rural residents in West Nusa Tenggara Province, and collected 523 questionnaires through online media. The instruments used in this research are demographic information, such as age, gender, educational level, marital status and area of residence (urban or rural) and knowledge, attitude and practice questionnaires. Results: The results of multiple linear regression analysis showed that education level (p=0.01), gender (p=0.00) and age (p=0.03) had a significant effect on knowledge about COVID-19. Residential area (urban) affects practices related to COVID-19 (p=0.00). Furthermore, knowledge of COVID-19 (p=0.00) and area of residence (urban) (p=0.00) are closely related to residents' attitudes toward preventive measures that can control this disease. Conclusions: Both urban and rural residents of West Nusa Tenggara Province displayed moderate levels of knowledge as well as the practice of COVID-19 and showed the disease with a positive attitude. Developing suitable education programs targeted at the general residents in West Nusa Tenggara Province is essential to increase knowledge, attitudes, as well as practices of COVID-19, especially for rustic and low-educated citizens.

Abstract

Employee performance is closely tied to the support of the environment in striving for work achievements, thus the individual capabilities of human resources (HR) employees are crucial in achieving such success. The aim of this research is to analyze the performance of healthcare center (puskesmas) employees in East Lombok Regency. This research method utilizes a qualitative approach. The study was conducted from June to December 2023 in 5 representative healthcare centers namely Labuhan Haji, Krongkong, Kotaraja, Karang Baru, and Dasan Lekong. The research informants consisted of 5 individuals, with 3 as primary informants and 2 as supporting informants. Data was collected through group discussion forums. The results of this research indicate that employee performance in East Lombok is not satisfactory, as evidenced by patient complaints. Based on these findings, it is recommended that healthcare center employees should be open in all aspects to their environment, not only related to performance but also in communication, so that the relationship between employees and their environment can be well established.
