Abstract

One measure of the success of Islamic banking can be achieved if the bank has a large number of customers. The number of customers is certainly based on good service quality. Based on this, the purpose of this study was to analyze the innovations that were built in improving service quality at the Mandailing Natal branch of Indonesian Sharia Bank. This study uses field research methods that are oriented towards in-depth interviews directly at the research location. The results obtained are that the bank always prioritizes good moral ethics towards customers, trains communication skills, complete attributes, and evaluates customers on employees in a consistent manner. Customer service must have expertise in the field of communication, which must be taken into account because each customer has different characteristics, so clear and directed communication is needed so that misunderstandings do not arise. Identification marks are always shown so that customers recognize the employee. If at any time the service provided to the customer is less than positive, the customer can report the customer service employee to evaluate his performance by simply stating the name of the employee himself and a thorough evaluation of the employee's performance.

Abstract

This study aims to design an Islamic investment portfolio framework that is integrated with sustainability principles (ESG) and evaluate its effectiveness in achieving halal and sustainable investment goals. The method used is a qualitative approach with a literature study, namely reviewing literature from books, journals, official reports, and websites of institutions related to Islamic investment. The analysis is done descriptively and through content analysis to find patterns of meaning and main principles in the management of Islamic portfolios. The results showed that Islamic portfolios that combine Islamic screening, ESG principles, and diversification strategies are able to provide competitive investment returns while being in accordance with Islamic values. The combination of assets such as Islamic stocks, green sukuk, money market instruments, and halal alternatives support portfolio stability. In addition, the use of technology such as Islamic robo-advisors and periodic rebalancing strengthens the effectiveness of portfolio management. In conclusion, a structured and sustainable Islamic portfolio can be a strategic solution for Muslim investors. It is recommended that Islamic financial literacy continues to be improved, ESG integration is expanded in Islamic products, and digital technology is strengthened to create an inclusive and competitive investment ecosystem.

Abstract

This study discusses fundamental analysis in Islamic investment. Fundamental analysis is the main approach used by investors to assess whether sharia-compliant stocks are viable in the capital market. In this study, a literature review approach is adopted, drawing from various scientific articles and research related to fundamental analysis in Islamic investment. The findings indicate that fundamental analysis involves evaluating macroeconomic conditions, industry developments, and company financial statements. This helps investors reduce risks and increase the likelihood of gaining long-term profits. The application of fundamental analysis also requires investors to ensure that the selected companies are free from elements of riba (usury), gharar (uncertainty), and maysir (gambling or speculation), thereby complying with sharia criteria. Therefore, fundamental analysis in Islamic investment is a crucial element in making responsible and sustainable investment decisions in accordance with sharia principles.

Abstract

This study aims to examine Bapperida's strategy in promoting regional innovation in Mandailing Natal Regency. A qualitative approach with a case study design was used. Data collection was conducted through in-depth interviews with key informants, observation of innovation activities, and review of regional planning and policy documents such as the RPJMD and RKPD. The findings indicate that Bapperida plays a crucial role as a policy maker and coordinator in integrating innovation into regional development planning documents. In addition, Bapperida functions as a facilitator that encourages cross-sector collaboration, including with the tourism, health, and fisheries agencies, to expand the application of innovation. The implementation of the strategy is carried out through strengthening coordination, facilitating collaborative forums and capacity-building workshops, assisting regional apparatus, and providing funding support for pilot projects. However, the effectiveness of the strategy still faces obstacles in the form of limited human resources and budget, weak coordination between regional agencies, and a monitoring and evaluation system that is not yet optimal. Therefore, optimization efforts are needed through increasing human resource capacity, developing innovation guidelines and SOPs, integrating innovation into the RKPD, and developing incentive mechanisms and sustainable regional performance evaluations.

Abstract

Green sukuk is an Islamic financial instrument used to finance environmentally friendly projects in supporting sustainable development. Indonesia became a pioneer in issuing green sukuk in 2018, reflecting its commitment to integrating economic and environmental aspects. This study aims to analyze the mechanisms, regulations, and implementation of green sukuk in Indonesia. The method used is a literature study with a descriptive qualitative approach. The results show that green sukuk plays a strategic role in financing green infrastructure and supporting the achievement of sustainable development goals. However, its development still faces challenges such as limited human resources, low public literacy, and risks associated with environmental projects. Therefore, stronger regulations and increased education are needed to support the optimal development of green sukuk.

Abstract

The institutional framework and sustainability of waqf in Indonesia hold immense potential for supporting the social and economic development of the Muslim community. However, despite its promise, the sector remains fragmented, and its utilization has not yet been optimized due to the lack of specific legal regulations governing stock waqf. This study analyzes the regulatory framework for stock waqf from the perspectives of institutionalization and sustainability in Indonesia. Employing a qualitative method through normative legal research using a conceptual approach, this study examines the reconstruction of stock waqf from the perspectives of institutionalization and sustainability in Indonesia. The research findings emphasize the need for legal reconstruction regarding the institutional framework and sustainability of stock waqf to integrate collaborative legal regulations among the Indonesia Stock Exchange, the Financial Services Authority, and the Indonesian Waqf Board, as well as to strengthen Islamic financial literacy. Collaborative legal regulation is not only necessary for operational effectiveness but also to integrate waqf into a modern economic framework, including the integration of digital governance systems and the strengthening of electronic nazhir certification systems without compromising their ethical foundations. Recommendations include strengthening specific legal regulations for stock waqf, fostering synergy between the government and religious authorities, and implementing collaborative legal integration among the Indonesia Stock Exchange, the Financial Services Authority, and the Indonesian Waqf Board. These findings contribute to the reconstruction of the endowment system from an institutional perspective and to the sustainability of endowments that are responsive to national socioeconomic needs and the needs of the endowment itself.

Abstract

Abstract

The limited capacity of pesantren to develop Islamic education oriented toward institutional self-reliance in Mandailing Natal indicates an axiological problem in the management of waqf as a value-based instrument of education. In this context, the thought of Junaid Thola offers a historical–contextual perspective on waqf as the axiological foundation of Islamic education. This study aims to examine the relevance of Junaid Thola’s thought in Kaifiyyat (1927) as a basis for developing an Islamic education model grounded in Pesantrenpreneurship and productive waqf. The researchers employed a qualitative methodology with a multiple-case study design and conducted the study in six pesantren in Mandailing Natal (Musthafawiyah, Al-Junaidiyah, Darul Ikhlas, Darul Ulum, Darul Hadis, and Roihanul Jannah). A constructivist–interpretive approach is integrated with hermeneutic analysis to explore the relationship between classical Islamic texts and contemporary pesantren educational practices. The researchers collected data through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis and analysed them using interactive and abductive techniques supported by triangulation. The findings reveal that the relevance of Junaid Thola's thought within the context of pesantren-based Islamic education varies across institutions. Very high relevance is observed in pesantren with extensive waqf asset bases, whereas moderate relevance is found in pesantren with limited educational economic business units. Factors strengthening relevance include the availability of waqf assets and the coherence of leadership values with Islamic educational and business ethics, while limitations in physical assets function as constraining factors. Hermeneutic analysis of Kaifiyyat (1927) identifies 88 practical approaches to productive waqf encompassing six primary asset sources (agriculture, infrastructure, commerce, vocational activities, zakat, and collective contributions). These findings are synthesised into a Three-Pillar Axiological Model of Islamic Education, consisting of pesantren economic self-reliance (Asset Ontology), Islamic character education (Ethical Axiology), and Institutional Sustainability (Managerial Epistemology). This study contributes to the development of an integrative pesantren-based Islamic education model that bridges classical waqf thought with contemporary entrepreneurship-oriented educational practices.
