Abstract

This research was motivated by the results of observations at the Kemala Bhayangkari Bangkinang City Kindergarten regarding children's fine motor skills that had not developed optimally. So improvements need to be made through busy book media. The problem in this research is that children have difficulty holding a pencil, children lack concentration, are not precise and neat and lack patience in carrying out learning activities related to fine motor skills, children are not able to follow the pattern lines ordered by the teacher, children have difficulty recognizing colors. This research aims to improve the fine motor skills of class A children at the Kemala Bhayangkari Bangkinang City Kindergarten through busy book media. The subjects in this study were 15 children consisting of 8 girls and 7 boys. This research uses classroom action research methods. This research consisted of two cycles and each cycle was held in 2 meetings. The data collection techniques used are observation and documentation. From the calculations carried out, it can be seen that the percentage of children's fine motor skills has increased from the initial condition of the number of children with the Not Yet Developed (BB) criteria of 59.9%. In cycle I the criteria for Not Yet Developed (BB) was reduced to 17.9%. In cycle II, the criteria for Not Yet Developed (BB) were reduced again to 1.65%. This proves that busy book media can improve children's fine motor skills at the Kemala Bhayangkari Bangkinang City Kindergarten.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya keterampilan membaca pemahaman siswa kelas V di SD Insan Kamil Bangkinang, yang ditunjukkan dengan masih banyaknya siswa kesulitan menemukan ide pokok, gagasan penjelas, kesimpulan, serta amanat bacaan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh metode RADEC terhadap keterampilan membaca pemahaman siswa kelas V SD Insan Kamil Bangkinang. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuasi eksperimen dengan desain pretest-posttest control group design. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh siswa kelas V, dengan sampel penelitian terdiri dari satu kelas eksperimen yang menggunakan metode RADEC dan satu kelas kontrol yang menggunakan metode konvensional. Instrumen penelitian berupa tes keterampilan membaca pemahaman yang diberikan pada saat pretest dan posttest. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji statistik inferensial untuk mengetahui perbedaan hasil belajar antara kedua kelompok. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan keterampilan membaca pemahaman siswa setelah pembelajaran dengan metode RADEC dibandingkan dengan metode konvensional. Hal ini terlihat dari nilai rata-rata posttest kelas eksperimen yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelas kontrol. Hasil uji-t juga menunjukkan nilai signifikansi 0,000 (<0,05), yang berarti terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara nilai pretest dan posttest. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa metode RADEC berpengaruh signifikan dalam meningkatkan keterampilan membaca pemahaman siswa.

Abstract

Jagung selama ini masih belum dimanfaatkan secara maksimal oleh masyarakat. Bagian-bagian jagung masih belum termanfaatkan dengan baik, terutama bagian daunnya. Selama ini, daun jagung tidak dipakai dan dibuang secara percuma. Belum ada masyarakat yang bisa memanfaatkan limbah daun jagung agar bisa menjadi barang bernilai tinggi. Pengabdian ini dilakukan untuk memanfaatkan bagian daun jagung agar lebih bermanfaat dan tidak terbuang sia-sia. Metode pengabdian yang dilakukan mengadopsi metode pengabdian pemberdayaan masyarakat sekitar. Tahapan yang dilakukan berupa persiapan, pengkajian, perencanaan alternatif program, penetapan rencana aksi, implementasi program, dan evaluasi. Pengabdian ini dilakukan kepada masyarakat desa Ridan Permai yang berjumlah 20 orang. Jagung bisa dijadikan sesuatu yang menjadi nilai lebih dan nilai guna. Daun jagung menjadi solusi kreatif dan berkelanjutan bagi masyarakat. Hasil karya daun jagung mendatangkan nilai manfaat dan nilai komersial serta bisa menambah penghasilan masyarakat sekitar. Daun jagung bernilai ekonomis tinggi apabila dimanfaatkan secara maksimal. Masyarakat sekitar harus bisa memanfaatkan limbah daun jagung yang terbuang menjadi barang yang bernilai tinggi.

Abstract

This study investigated the impact of wiki-based collaborative writing on EFL students’ business writing performance in a Business English Writing course at Universitas Pahlawan Tuanku Tambusai. The study employed a quasi-experimental one-group pretest–posttest design involving 100 university students. Students participated in four types of wiki-based collaborative writing activities during the treatment period. Writing performance was assessed using an analytical scoring rubric covering overall writing, content, organization, vocabulary, language use, and mechanics. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, ANOVA, and paired sample t-tests. The findings revealed that there were no statistically significant differences among the four wiki collaboration types, although Wiki Type 4 obtained the highest mean score. The results also showed a significant improvement in students’ overall writing performance after the wiki-based collaborative treatment. However, no significant improvement was found in the individual writing components, including content, organization, vocabulary, language use, and mechanics. These findings suggest that wiki-based collaborative writing can support students’ overall writing development and collaborative engagement, although its short-term impact on specific writing sub-skills remains limited. The study contributes to the growing body of research on digital collaborative learning in ESP and EFL writing contexts.
