Abstract

This study aims to analyze various sources of literature to understand how Islamic religious education, through the perspective of the Qur'an, can contribute to the formation of student leadership character. The method used is a literature study or also known as a literature review sourced from previous studies and reading books. The data used are document data, both from the Qur'an, Al-Hadith, textbooks, scientific journals, and other relevant document sources. The data were analyzed descriptively by collecting data from various articles and books, then analyzed to draw conclusions. The study shows that Islamic leadership education has a positive impact on the development of student character, increasing attitudes of responsibility, honesty, and the ability to work together. Students involved in extracurricular activities show increased communication skills and self-confidence, are able to apply Islamic values ​​in various situations. Effective character education can improve the quality of students' attitudes and behavior, in line with the finding that religious-based leadership education has a positive effect on the development of student character.

Abstract

The transformation of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) in the digital era has become a necessity in facing technological developments and changes in the characteristics of students, especially Generation Z. This study aims to analyze the challenges and opportunities in the implementation of digital-based PAI, as well as to formulate strategies that can increase the effectiveness of religious learning in the modern era. The research method used is a literature review with a qualitative approach, which examines various academic sources, journals, books, and reports related to the development of digitalization in religious education. The results of the study show that the digitalization of PAI faces challenges such as minimal digital literacy among educators, limited access to technology for some students, and the potential for misuse of technology. However, there are also various opportunities, such as increasing accessibility of learning resources, the use of attractive interactive media, and the ease of personalizing learning according to the needs of students. The novelty of this study lies in the strategic analysis that highlights the importance of increasing digital competence for educators, developing adaptive technology-based curriculum, and optimizing digital platforms as a more inclusive and effective medium for Islamic preaching and education for Generation Z. Thus, the transformation of PAI in the digital era can be a more relevant means of forming character and contextual understanding of religion for the younger generation.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the urgency and strategy of integrating the values ​​of the Qur'an and interpretation into the Islamic Religious Education (PAI) curriculum in order to form the golden generation of Indonesia 2045. Through a literature study approach, this study analyzes various scientific sources, national education policies, and classical and contemporary interpretations to formulate a relevant and contextual curriculum model. The results of the study indicate that the integration of the values ​​of the Qur'an and interpretation systematically can strengthen the spiritual, ethical, and intellectual dimensions of students. The curriculum that adopts prophetic values ​​such as honesty, justice, responsibility, and enthusiasm for learning from the Qur'an has proven effective in forming the character of a generation that is globally competitive but still rooted in Islamic values. The main contribution of this study is to offer a conceptual framework for the PAI curriculum based on the values ​​of the Qur'an and interpretation that can be used as a reference in planning and implementing education towards the vision of Golden Indonesia 2045.

Abstract

The purpose of this article is to explore the role of Islamic Religious Education in encouraging real action for environmental conservation, with a focus on efforts to green the earth based on faith values. The research method used is a literature study, which involves the analysis of library sources to understand the concepts and principles of Islamic teachings related to the environment and their application in education. The results of the study indicate that Islamic Religious Education has significant potential in building ecological awareness and responsible behavior towards the environment through the internalization of Islamic values. Islamic teachings emphasize the harmonious relationship between humans and nature, responsible resource management, and the importance of preserving the earth as a divine mandate. Implications for the future are the need to develop a more integrative and contextual Islamic Religious Education curriculum and learning methods, which connect religious values ??with global environmental issues. In addition, this study encourages the active involvement of Islamic educational institutions, religious figures, and Muslim communities in the environmental conservation movement, as well as cross-sector collaboration to achieve sustainable development goals. Thus, Islamic Religious Education can be a transformative force in realizing a greener and more sustainable earth based on faith principles.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis strategi program pemberdayaan mustahik melalui usaha ternak kambing berbasis zakat produktif oleh BAZNAS Kabupaten Bondowoso di Desa Sulek, Kecamatan Tlogosari, Kabupaten Bondowoso, Provinsi Jawa Timur. Program pemberdayaan mustahik melalui usaha ternak kambing berbasis zakat produktif yang dijalankan sejak tahun 2021 telah menunjukkan hasil yang signifikan. Tidak hanya ditandai oleh pertumbuhan populasi kambing dari 65 ekor menjadi lebih dari 700-an ekor pada bulan Maret tahun 2025, program ini juga berhasil memberdayakan secara langsung lebih dari 120 orang mustahik yang tergabung dalam beberapa kelompok ternak. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi pada Badan Amil Zakat Nasional (BAZNAS) serta mustahik penerima program. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa program peternakan kambing berbasis zakat produktif ini melalui tiga tahapan: tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan monev (monitoring dan evaluasi). Program ini berkontribusi besar terhadap peningkatan pendapatan dan kemandirian ekonomi para mustahik. Meskipun demikian, tantangan masih ditemukan pada aspek pendampingan teknis, pemasaran hasil ternak, serta keberlanjutan program pasca bantuan awal. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan strategi monitoring dan evaluasi yang berkelanjutan serta kolaborasi lintas sektor untuk mengoptimalkan dampak pemberdayaan zakat secara menyeluruh. Penelitian ini menyarankan penguatan kelembagaan dan pengembangan model pemberdayaan zakat yang kontekstual dan adaptif sesuai kebutuhan masyarakat.

Abstract

In the era of globalization and digitalization, cross-cultural interactions are increasingly occurring through virtual spaces that connect individuals from various countries without geographical boundaries. This condition demands the presence of adaptive and inclusive intercultural education, one of which is through virtual exchange or Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL). Although previous research indicates that virtual exchange can improve intercultural competence, studies examining international students' perceptions of this experience and its contribution to the development of tolerance are still limited. Based on this gap, this study aims to analyze the implementation of cross-cultural education in virtual exchange programs, understand participants' perceptions of these experiences, and examine their contribution to the development of tolerance in the cognitive, affective, and behavioral domains. This study used a qualitative method with a literature review approach, through critical analysis of indexed journal articles, COIL program reports, and global education policy publications. Data were analyzed using content analysis techniques with source and theory triangulation based on the concepts of intercultural competence and experiential learning. The results show that virtual exchange has the potential to foster tolerance through cross-cultural collaborative learning. Pedagogical designs that emphasize critical reflection and collaborative tasks effectively develop cultural understanding, empathy, and cross-cultural cooperation. The novelty of this research lies in its identification of international students' perceptions as a key variable in mediating the formation of tolerance attitudes, as well as its integration of pedagogical analysis and empirical indicators of tolerance within a comprehensive theoretical framework.

Abstract

The practice of exchanging scrap materials for new goods in Sukowono District represents a form of community economic activity that has become a local habit and carries social and economic benefits, particularly among housewives. This system is preferred because it is more practical and provides direct benefits for meeting household needs. This study aims to describe the practice of scrap-for-goods exchange conducted by the community and to analyze it from the perspective of Islamic economic law (fiqh muamalah), particularly in terms of justice, mutual consent (taradhi), and transparency. This research employs a socio-legal approach with qualitative methods through observation and interviews with scrap traders and participants in Sukowono District, Jember Regency. The findings show that the exchange practice is carried out through two systems: the weighing system and the estimation system. The weighing system is considered more in line with Islamic principles because it is clear, measurable, and transparent. Meanwhile, the estimation system contains elements of gharar (uncertainty) since the value of goods is determined by approximation without exact measurement. Overall, this exchange practice is deemed valid under fiqh muamalah as it fulfills the elements of mutual consent and clear transaction objects; however, price transparency needs to be improved to better reflect the principles of justice and honesty in Islamic transactions.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the thoughts of contemporary Muslim scholars who offer a contextual approach to understanding the Qur'anic text and the theoretical relationship of each of these figures' thoughts and their application in Q.S. al-Maidah: 38. Some of the statistics discussed in this study include: Fazlur Rahman, Abdullah Saeed, Khaled Aboe El-Fadl, and M. Amin Abdullah. The selection of these four figures was based on the strength of their thinking in understanding the contextual nature of the Qur'an and their influence on other contemporary Muslim scholars, both in Indonesian Islamic universities and in different countries. By formulating the thoughts of these four figures, a moderate contemporary interpretation of Islamic law will be formed, and laws that are relevant to the realities of the times will be formulated. This research uses a literature approach by reviewing literature journals and contemporary tafsir books. The primary data of this research are books and journals that are the thoughts of the four figures, especially those that discuss the hermeneutics of the Qur'an in the renewal of Islamic studies. This research concludes that the contemporary interpretations of the four figures have similarities in seeing the social realities that occur and their theories are interconnected with each other. Fazlur Rahman's double movement theory plays a role in seeing Khaled Aboe El-Fadl's theory's relationship between author, text, and reader. Abdullah Saeed's hierarchy of values theory plays a role in mapping the text. The three-element theory (text, reality, insight) of M. Amin Abdullah serves as a measure of a reader's insight in analyzing the text and connecting it with the reality that occurs. According to them, the punishment for cutting hands contained in Q.S. al-Maidah: 38 can be replaced with imprisonment or a heavy fine. This is because the punishment of cutting hands is no longer by the current social reality, considered inhumane, and contrary to humanity. This research remains theoretical in nature. Future studies may apply the proposed contextual framework to other Qur'anic themes, such as socio-legal or ethical issues, to test its broader applicability.

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the implementation of strategic management to improve the quality of education at Madrasah Aliyah Ihyaul Ulum Guntung. The main focus is on how planning, execution, and evaluation of managerial strategies are carried out by the madrasah to achieve quality education. The method used is a qualitative approach with a case study. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, then analysed using data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing techniques. The results show that strategic management is applied through the formulation of clear vision and mission, strengthening teachers' competencies, and optimising the role of the madrasah head as a leader. These strategies have a positive impact on discipline, academic achievement, and community participation in supporting madrasah activities. The findings emphasise the importance of planned and sustainable strategic management to enhance the quality of education, particularly in Islamic educational institutions aimed at building students' character and competencies.

Abstract

Improving the quality of Islamic educational institutions is a strategic challenge in the modern era that demands the integration of Islamic values with a professional management system. This study analyzes the application of strategic management in improving the quality of education at the Nurul Masyithoh Lumajang Foundation, one of the oldest women's Islamic educational institutions in East Java. A qualitative approach with a case study design was used, with data obtained through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation of foundation administrators, madrasah heads, teachers, and other related parties. The results of the study show that the foundation implements three main strategies: strengthening human resources through continuous training and coaching, developing a curriculum based on character and the values of Ahlussunnah wal Jama'ah, and implementing a structured and participatory quality management system. The implementation of this strategy has been proven to improve the academic quality, discipline, and religious character of students. This research emphasizes that strategic management based on Islamic values is an effective instrument in maintaining the sustainability of the quality of Islamic educational institutions. These findings can be a conceptual model for the development of similar institutions in facing the challenges of globalization and modernization of education.
