Abstract

The Cempakaan Dukuh farmer group in Dukuh Mencek Village, Sukorambi District, Jember Regency, actively cultivates various vegetables. Currently, this farmer group lacks knowledge and skills in processing technology for vegetable-based food products. As a result, their vegetable harvests are mainly sold in fresh form, either directly to consumers or through intermediaries, which keeps their selling prices low. To address this issue, a training program was implemented to enhance the farmers' understanding and skills in processing technology, specifically focusing on creating water spinach jerky and spinach sticks. The training involved several steps: organizing coordination meetings to prepare for the activities, delivering the training materials, facilitating discussions, and providing hands-on practice. Finally, the outcomes of the service were evaluated and reviewed. The results of the training showed that the farmer group was enthusiastic about participating in the community service activities. To evaluate their progress, pre-test and post-test assessments were conducted. The pre-test scores for each question were 56, 32, 54, 48, 40, and 45, while the post-test scores were 87, 83, 86, 80, 75, and 73. The increase in post-test scores indicates a significant improvement in the farmers' ability to utilize technology for processing water spinach jerky and spinach sticks.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has harmed freshwater fish cultivators, mainly gourami. Cultivators complained and were threatened with bankruptcy because not only have the selling price been low since the start of the pandemic, but the price of feed has also continued to rise. The situation encouraged gourami cultivators to switch to other types of cultured fish, like catfish and ornamental fish such as koi. The Community Service Team initiated to offer a solution in increasing the added value of gourami through processing it into nutritious fishball. The main result of this activity was to increase the added value of the product to increase selling value, product quality, industrial productivity, employment, income, and the welfare of gourami cultivators and their families. The activity was carried out by applying a participatory approach model and training in processing and producing gourami fishball for several groups of cultivators in several villages in Kalidawir District, Tulungagung. After the training was conducted and the fishball product was created, an organoleptic test was carried out to determine public acceptance of the product.

Abstract

Usaha pemenuhan kebutuhan pangan dengan pengelolaan  lahan kering maupun pekarangan terus digalakkan di berbagai wilayah di Indonesia. Lahan kering dan pekarangan merupakan sumber potensial yang dikembangkan dalam pembangunan pertanian untuk mendukung ketahanan pangan. Kegiatan penyuluhan pertanian telah dilaksanakan di Desa Kuncir Kabupaten Nganjuk bekerja sama dengan Dinas Pertanian Kabupaten Nganjuk. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk mendorong masyarakat dalam memanfaatkan lahan kering dan pekarangan untuk mendukung ketahanan pangan daerah setempat dan meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat. Metode penyuluhan meliputi penyampaian materi secara lengkap dan praktek pembuatan pupuk organik. Pemateri dari Pemerintah Daerah Kabupaten Nganjuk menyampaikan program pangan sehat dalam mendukung ketahanan pangan. Hasil dari kegiatan penyuluhan ini adalah lahan kering di Desa Kuncir Kabupaten Nganjuk potensial dikembangkan karena lahan cukup luas dan  tingkat kesuburan cukup baik serta sebagian besar masyarakat bermatapencaharian sebagai petani. Diskusi dua arah berlangsung interaktif menunjukkan tingkat antusiasisme masyarakat, pemahaman terhadap materi yang disampaikan dan  permasalahan di lapangan. Kegiatan penyuluhan pertanian yang dilakukan secara umum cukup berhasil karena adanya peningkatan pengetahuan dan wawasan masyarakat dan ketertarikan dalam menerapkan pola tanam yang efektif di lahan kering maupun pemanfaatan pekarangan.

Abstract

This study analyzes the income and R/C ratio in the Tuna Shredded Fish business, Inti Rasa Bu Peni UMKM, with a wholesale and retail sales system. This research used a case study, and the sample was determined purposively (purposive sampling). The research location was Inti Rasa Bu Peni UMKM, Tegalkamulyan Village, South Cilacap District, Cilacap Regency. The data used were primary and secondary. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, and recording. The study results showed that the total costs incurred by the MSME businessman Inti Rasa Bu Peni's shredded tuna in 2022 are IDR115,654,500 with each sales system of IDR56,682,250 for wholesale sales and IDR58,972,250 for retail sales. Revenue obtained in 2022 with a wholesale and retail sales system is IDR118,750,000 and IDR113,750,000, total IDR232,00,000. The income earned by shredded tuna entrepreneurs in 2022 is IDR57,067,750 for wholesale sales, and IDR59,777,750 for retail sales, with a total value of IDR116,845,500. The R/C ratio obtained is 2.00 for wholesale sales and 2.01 for retail sales. With this business analysis, both sales systems are profitable and feasible. Perbedaan sistem penjualan akan mempengaruhi pendapatan suatu usaha. Tujuan riset ini untuk menganalisis pendapatan dan R/C Ratio pada usaha Abon Tuna UMKM Inti Rasa Bu Peni dengan sistem penjualan grosir dan ecer. Riset ini menggunakan studi kasus dan sampel ditentukan secara sengaja. Penelitian berada di UMKM Inti Rasa Bu Peni Kelurahan Tegalkamulyan Kecamatan Cilacap Selatan Kabupaten Cilacap. Data yang digunakan melibatkan penggunaan data primer dan data sekunder. Proses pengumpulan data dilaksanakan melalui metode pengamatan, interview serta pencatatan. Hasil riset mengemukakan bahwa total biaya pengolahan abon ikan pada UMKM Inti Rasa Bu Peni pada tahun 2022 adalah Rp115.654.500 dengan masing-masing sistem penjualan sebesar Rp56.682.250 untuk penjuaan grosir dan Rp58.972.250 untuk penjualan ecer. Penerimaan yang diperoleh pada tahun 2022 dengan sistem penjualan grosir dan ecer yaitu sebesar Rp118.750.000 dan 113.750.000 dengan nilai total senilai Rp232.00.000. Pendapatan yang diperoleh oleh pengusaha abon ikan tuna pada tahun 2022 adalah Rp57.067.750 untuk penjualan grosir Rp59.777.750 untuk penjualan ecer dengan nilai total Rp116.845.500. Nilai R/C Ratio yang didapat adalah 2,00 untuk penjualan grosir dan 2,01 untuk penjualan ecer. Sistem penjualan grosis maupun ecer sama-sama menguntungkan serta layak untuk di usahakan.

Abstract

Mango (Mangifera indica L.) is a seasonal tropical fruit and usually harvesting at October until December in Indonesia. In Kediri Regency, one of local variety mango known as ‘Podang Urang’ had been harvested and the production is high. When the harvesting time, the price of ‘Podang Urang’ mango is very cheap around IDR1,600 per kg on wholesale market in Kediri. This condition certainly will adverse the farmers. In order to decrease this risk that faced by farmers, this locally mango could be potential to process as mayonnaise to increase of the price value. This research aimed to process ‘Podang Urang’ mango as mayonnaise, characterize their physicochemical and sensory characteristics, and compare the mayonnaise product as prescribed by the quality requirement criteria of Indonesian National Standard (SNI) No. 01-4473-1998. The mango with 90% maturity was sorted, peelded, and blended. This puree was added with various of full cream milk, citric acid (0.3%), and palm oil (2%) and processed to be mayonnaise. The result showed that the ‘Podang urang’ mango mayonnaise with added with full cream milk (50:50%/B2) had emulsion stability about 99.99%, lightness (L*) of 45.96, protein content of 1.39%, pH of 6.57, vitamin C about 16.43%, and moisture content about 62.67%. This mayonnaise composition (50% of mango puree and 50% of full cream milk) was likely by the panelists in terms of color (7.12), flavor (7.12), taste (7.04), thickness (7.04), and overall acceptable about 7.20. This study provides the utilization of Kediri locally mango (‘Podang Urang’) as a diverse food product, which is acceptable to the panelists and adds value to the raw material.   Keywords: diversity of product, local mango, mayonnaise, ‘Podang Urang’

Abstract

The objective of this study is to address the issue of pineapple skin waste produced by the PERTAKINA cooperative in Blitar, which primarily processes pineapple juice and other pineapple-based products, leaving large amounts of waste that currently have minimal use. Through collaboration with the PERTAKINA community, this study aims to create value from this waste by transforming it into nata de pina, a product with potential market appeal. This project involved training and mentoring sessions to equip participants with the skills and technology needed for waste processing, including production techniques, quality control, and basic management. Data were collected through observations, focus group discussions, and pre- and post-test evaluations, revealing significant knowledge gains among participants. This transformation of pineapple skin waste not only reduces environmental pollution but also provides new income-generating opportunities for the community, highlighting the potential of waste utilization in agricultural communities. The success of this initiative underscores the importance of technology transfer and continuous support to enable sustainable community-based waste management and product diversification.

Abstract

Increasing rice production is an absolute thing to support national food security. This is inseparable from the inputs used by farmers in farming activities, one of which is the use of fertilizers. Fertilization is an important factor for nutrient supply during the plant growth cycle. There are two types of fertilizers used in the community, namely chemical fertilizers and organic fertilizers. The development of the two types of fertilizers is like two sides of a coin. Chemical fertilizers do have the advantage of speeding up the harvest process more than organic fertilizers. Some of the effects of chemical fertilizers are starting from an unbalanced ecosystem. The price of chemical fertilizers is getting more and more expensive amid the farmers' need to accelerate and increase the amount of production. This can be avoided by starting to use organic fertilizers. A study was conducted on the efficiency of rice farming with additional liquid organic fertilizer (POC). Using quantitative research methods, its approach was descriptive and associative analysis. The sample used was 50 farmers in Sawuh Village, Siman District, Ponorogo Regency. The sample was taken from 94 rice farmers who used additional POC fertilizer. Rice farming with additional POC fertilizer can be considered efficient and affects rice production. The average production per hectare was 7,296 Kg of harvested dry grain. The average cost incurred for rice farming using additional POC fertilizer was IDR18,263,319 per hectare. The income of rice farming using additional POC fertilizer per hectare was IDR14,932,207 in one growing season.Peningkatan produksi padi adalah suatu hal yang mutlak demi menunjang ketahanan pangan nasional. Hal ini tidak terlepas dari input yang digunakan oleh petani dalam aktifitas bercocok tanam, salah satunya adalah penggunaan pupuk. Pemupukan sebagai faktor penting untuk persediaan unsur hara selama siklus pertumbuhan tanaman. Penggunaan pupuk di masyarakat ada dua jenis, yaitu pupuk kimia dan pupuk organik. Perkembangan kedua jenis pupuk tersebut seakan seperti dua sisi koin. Pupuk kimia memang memiliki keunggulan untuk mempercepat proses panen daripada pupuk organik. Beberapa dampak pupuk kimia ialah mulai dari ekosistem yang menjadi tidak seimbang. Harga pupuk kimia yang semakin hari semakin mahal di tengah kebutuhan petani untuk mempercepat dan memperbanyak jumlah produksinya. Hal tersebut bisa dihindari dengan mulai penggunaan pupuk organik. Artikel ini melakukan peneltian yang berfokus pada efisiensi usahatani padi dengan pupuk tambahan Pupuk Organik Cair (POC). Menggunakan metode penelitian kuantitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif dan analisis asosiatif. Sampel yang digunakan sebanyak 50 petani di Desa Sawuh Kecamatan Siman Kabupaten Ponorogo. Sampel tersebut diambil dari 94 petani padi yang menggunakan pupuk tambahan POC. usahatani padi dengan pupuk tambahan POC bisa dinilai efisien beserta memiliki pengaruh terhadap produksi padi. Rata-rata produksi per Hektar adalah 7.296 Kg gabah kering panen. Rata-rata biaya yang dikeluarkan untuk usahatani padi yang menggunakan pupuk tambahan POC adalah sebesar Rp18.263.319 per hektar. Pendapatan usahatani padi yang menggunakan pupuk tambahan POC per Hektarnya sebesar Rp14.932.207 dalam satu musim tanam.

Abstract

The development of the agricultural sector has the main objective of increasing food production and nutrition and improving the standard of living and welfare of the community. One of the potential contributors to the income of the farmers studied is the red chili plant. This research was conducted in Puncu Village, Kediri Regency, as a red chili production center. The research used a census method with 15 red chili farmer respondents. Data collection was carried out through interviews and questionnaires with farmers and traders. Data analysis was carried out qualitatively and quantitatively. The research results show that red chili farming in Puncu Village, Kediri, produces an average of 8,823 kg/ha with a total production cost of IDR34,594,639 per hectare. Farmers' income reaches IDR218,218,667, so the profit per hectare reaches IDR183,624,028 with an R/C ratio of 6.43, indicating significant profits. Red chili marketing was carried out through two channels where the first channel (farmers to retailers to consumers) was classified as efficient, with an efficiency level of 1.07%. Meanwhile, the second channel (farmer to collector to retailer to consumer) could be more efficient, with an efficiency level of 3.13%. Analysis of costs, profits, and marketing efficiency provides a deeper understanding of the economic dynamics in the red chili sector in Puncu Village, Kediri.   Pembangunan sektor pertanian memiliki tujuan utama untuk meningkatkan produksi pangan dan gizi, serta meningkatkan taraf hidup dan kesejahteraan masyarakat. Salah satu potensi penyumbang pendapatan petani yang diteliti adalah tanaman cabai merah. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Desa Puncu, Kabupaten Kediri, sebagai sentra produksi cabai merah. Penelitian menggunakan metode sensus dengan 15 responden petani cabai merah. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara dan kuesioner kepada petani dan pedagang. Analisis data dilakukan secara kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa usahatani cabai merah di Desa Puncu, Kediri, rata-rata menghasilkan 8.823 kg/ha dengan total biaya produksi Rp34.594.639 per hektar. Penerimaan petani mencapai Rp218.218.667, sehingga keuntungan per hektar mencapai Rp183.624.028 dengan R/C ratio 6,43, menandakan keuntungan yang signifikan. Pemasaran cabai merah dilakukan melalui dua saluran, dimana saluran pertama (petani ke pedagang pengecer ke konsumen) tergolong efisien dengan tingkat efisiensi 1,07%. Sementara itu, saluran kedua (petani ke pedagang pengumpul ke pedagang pengecer ke konsumen) tidak efisien dengan tingkat efisiensi 3,13%. Analisis biaya, keuntungan, dan efisiensi pemasaran memberikan pemahaman lebih mendalam tentang dinamika ekonomi di sektor cabai merah di Desa Puncu, Kediri.

Abstract

This research aims to understand the implementation of organic rice farming in Damarwulan Village, Kepung District, Kediri Regency. This research involved the Ungkal Jaya Farmers Group in Damarwulan Village, Kepung District, Kediri Regency, which consisted of 38 farmers. In this group, 27 members use a conventional rice planting system, while 11 use an organic one. This research found that the average organic rice production per hectare was 6,698 kg for Harvested Dry Grain (GKP) and 5,655 kg for Milled Dry Grain (GKG). If farmers decide to process it into rice, they get around 4,354 kg of rice. Production costs incurred amounted to IDR20,688,409. The average income from organic rice farming in this research location is IDR19,366,286 for GKP, IDR21,586,822 for GKG, and IDR35,776,514 for rice. The research results also revealed several obstacles faced by farmers in cultivating organic rice, including (1) farmers' perception that organic farming is complicated because it requires special treatment, including the use of pesticide-free water, (2) the process takes time because the rice fields are contaminated by chemical residues and limited distribution of organic production facilities, (3) higher risk of pest and disease attacks, (4) market price uncertainty, and (5) expensive organic certification costs with a validity period of 3 years. Thus, organic rice cultivation has high-profit potential. However, farmers face various obstacles, such as the limited supply of organic resources, changes in farmer behavior patterns, the threat of plant pest organisms, and market uncertainty for organic rice.   Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami implementasi pertanian padi organik di Desa Damarwulan, Kecamatan Kepung, Kabupaten Kediri. Penelitian ini melibatkan Kelompok Tani Ungkal Jaya di Desa Damarwulan, Kecamatan Kepung, Kabupaten Kediri, yang terdiri dari 38 petani. Dalam kelompok ini, 27 anggota menerapkan sistem tanam padi konvensional, sementara 11 anggota menerapkan sistem tanam padi organik. Pada riset ini, ditemukan bahwa rata-rata produksi padi organik per hektar adalah 6.698 kg untuk Gabah Kering Panen (GKP) dan 5.655 kg untuk Gabah Kering Giling (GKG). Jika petani memutuskan untuk mengolahnya menjadi beras, mereka mendapatkan sekitar 4.354 kg beras. Biaya produksi yang dikeluarkan sebesar Rp20.688.409. Rata-rata pendapatan dari usahatani padi organik di lokasi penelitian ini adalah Rp19.366.286 untuk GKP, Rp21.586.822 untuk GKG, dan Rp35.776.514 untuk beras. Hasil penelitian juga mengungkapkan beberapa kendala yang dihadapi petani dalam budidaya padi organik, antara lain: (1) persepsi petani bahwa pertanian organik rumit karena memerlukan perlakuan khusus, termasuk penggunaan air bebas pestisida, (2) proses yang memakan waktu karena tercemarnya sawah oleh residu kimia dan keterbatasan sarana produksi organik yang merata, (3) risiko serangan hama dan penyakit yang lebih tinggi, (4) ketidakpastian harga pasar, dan (5) biaya sertifikasi organik yang mahal dengan masa berlaku selama 3 tahun. Dengan demikian, budidaya padi organik sebenarnya memiliki potensi keuntungan yang tinggi, namun petani dihadapkan pada berbagai kendala, seperti keterbatasan pasokan sumber daya organik, perubahan pola perilaku petani, ancaman organisme pengganggu tanaman, dan ketidakpastian pasar beras organik.

Abstract

Tulungagung Regency ranks 18th with 2,901 stunting cases, the equivalent of 5.51% in East Java. More specifically, stunting cases in Kauman District, Tulungagung Regency, reached 104 or around 3.6%. One of the causes of stunting is iron (Zn) deficiency. The Tulungagung Regency Agriculture Service conducted an Inpari IR Nutri Zinc Rice cultivation development program for the Ngudi Makmur Farmers Group in Balerejo Village, Kauman District, to support reducing stunting cases. Cultivating Inpari IR Nutri Zinc Rice has been carried out well. However, an analysis of the costs and feasibility of farming has yet to be carried out, so further research needs to be conducted. This research aims to determine the costs and feasibility of cultivating Inpari IR Nutri Zinc Rice. This research was a quantitative descriptive study involving the participation of 30 respondents belonging to the Ngudi Makmur Farmers Group, Balerejo Village, Kauman District, determined by census. Cost analysis calculations included variable and fixed costs so that income and receipts would be known. Feasibility analysis was calculated using the R/C ratio. The study findings showed that the average expenditure figure for Inpari IR Nutri Zinc Rice agricultural activities in the Ngudi Makmur Farmer Group was IDR10,382,373 with an income of IDR19,463,007 per ha in one planting season. The R/C ratio calculation result was 2.88. This shows that the Inpari IR Nutri Zinc Rice cultivation business is profitable and feasible. Kabupaten Tulungagung menempati urutan ke-18 dengan jumlah 2901 kasus stunting atau setara dengan 5,51% di Jawa Timur. Lebih spesifik lagi, kasus stunting di Kecamatan Kauman Kabupaten Tulungagung mencapai 104 atau sekitar 3,6%. Salah satu penyebab stunting yaitu kekurangan zat besi (Zn). Dinas Pertanian Kabupaten Tulungagung melakukan program pembinaan budidaya Padi Inpari IR Nutri Zinc kepada Kelompok Tani Ngudi Makmur Desa Balerejo Kecamatan Kauman untuk mendukung penurunan kasus stunting. Proses budidaya Padi Inpari IR Nutri Zinc telah dilakukan dengan baik, namun belum dilakukan analisis biaya serta kelayakan usahataninya sehingga perlu dilakukan penelitian lebih lanjut. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui biaya dan kelayakan usaha budidaya Padi Inpari IR Nutri Zinc. Penelitian ini adalah suatu studi deskriptif kuantitatif yang melibatkan partisipasi dari 30 responden anggota Kelompok Tani Ngudi Makmur Desa Balerejo Kecamatan Kauman yang ditentukan secara sensus. Penghitungan analisis biaya meliputi biaya variabel dan biaya tetapsehingga akan diketahui pendapatan dan penerimaan. Analisis kelayakan dihitung menggunakan R/C ratio. Temuan studi menunjukkan angka rata-rata pengeluaran dalam kegiatan pertanian Padi Inpari IR Nutri Zinc pada Kelompok Tani Ngudi Makmur sebesar Rp10.382.373 dengan pendapatan sebesar Rp 19.463.007 per ha dalam satu musim tanam. Hasil perhitungan R/C ratio sebesar 2,88. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa usahatani budidaya Padi Inpari IR Nutri Zinc menguntungkan dan layak untuk dijalankan.
