Abstract

This study examines the application of the Coaching and Mentoring Model to the Civil Servant Candidates’ (CPNS) Basic Training at the Religious Education and Training Center Semarang. The objectives of study are to know (a) the application of the coaching and mentoring model for the preparation of the actualization report (b) the impact of the application of the model, and (c) the strengths and weaknesses of this Coaching and Mentoring model. The study uses a descriptive qualitative approach based on program evaluation. The data colected mainly through observation, intervews, and documentation. The results of this study indicate that the mentoring model for the preparation of proposals and actualization is carried out by coaches and mentors through learning, mentoring, and consulting. The impact is positive. There is a match between actualization with the needs of the institution, the ease of participants in preparing plans, implementation, and actualization report. As for the advantages of helping participants recognize the potential of the participants, the implementation is more flexible because the coach is the participant’s teacher and the mentor is the participant's immediate supervisor. The weaknesses is that there is no guidance book for both coaches and mentors so that both coaches and mentors lack coordination between coaches and mentors, less coaches mentoring to participants because of the number of coachee is a relatively large number, and there are different knowledge among the coaches, and lack of common perception among coaches in the preparation of actualization and reports.

Abstract

Students are both subject and object in educational institutions. The number of students has a significant impact on the existence of educational institutions. Competitive competition encourages educational institutions to innovate in the promotion of educational services. The purpose of this study was to describe and analyze; 1) Strategic plan; 2) Strategic steps of Madrasah Head in increasing the interest of prospective students at MIN 1 Kendal Kendal Regency. The research method was qualitative and the design was case study, the process of collecting data was observation, interview and document study. The results showed: 1) There was increasing of short-term and long-term strategic plan using SWOT analysis; 2) Creating madrasa differentiation as a superior program; 3) Improving the culture of discipline; 4) Optimizing the extra-curricular activities to improve student achievement; 5) Determining tuition fee; 6) Improving the quality of the teachers; 7) Improving the quality of teaching and learning activities; 8) Promotion strategies were divided into promotion strategies through the new student admission committee (PPDB) and through activities organized by madrasa. The suggestion related to the result of this study was madrasa should make the mapping of the region as a promotional target and move more quickly in meeting the madrasah facilities and infrastructure.

Abstract

Education in Indonesia plays an important role in nation-building, particularly its people. Schools’ success is very much dependent on that of their principals in exercising their roles and performing tasks. One of the decisive factors which the quality of education and school effectivity depend on is a principal’s leadership. The purpose of this research is to analyze the school principal’s leadership at SMP Daarul Qur’an Ungaran, Central Java. This is a descriptive and qualitative research employing study-case approach. Using purposive sampling, the respondents of this research are the school principal, teachers and school committee. The collection of data was carried out by interview, observation and documents study using source triangulation as the technique to ensure their validity. The data were then analyzed by utilizing data reduction, data display and verification or inference. The result of the research shows that the principal is able to fulfill his tasks and responsibilities as the leader at SMP Daarul Qur’an Ungaran, Central Java, promoting democratic leadership. The leadership of SMP Daarul Qur’an principal has been highly regarded by his subordinates (teachers, staff and students alike). The school principal is constantly attempting to improve the quality of the service in place, both the academic and religious aspects, so as to uphold its position as an Islamic education institution by maintaining religious values in learning process at SMP Daarul Qur’an. The success and effectivity of SMP Daarul Qur’an principal’s leadership take shape in his quotidian attitude, delegation of tasks, decision making, supervision, school development, communication, motivational speech and provision of rewards to his subordinates.

Abstract

Teachers’ performances that had not been maximum required more attention. Teachers’ performances were influenced by several factors, such as academic supervision, principal leadership, and performance motivation. Higher academic supervision, principal leadership, and teacher performance motivation would lead to better performance. This research aims to analyze the academic supervision and principal leadership through performance motivation as a mediator toward the Publics Islamic JHS teachers' performance in Demak Regency. The applied approach in this research was quantitative. The research population consisted of the teachers of Public Islamic JHS in Demak Regency. The sampling data technique was purposive sampling. The applied data analysis techniques were descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. The findings showed that academic supervision, principal leadership, and performance motivation were correlated directly to teachers’ performance. The academic supervision and principal leadership did not have a direct effect moderated by performance motivation toward teaches’ performance.

Abstract

This study aims to determine basic literacy in teaching and learning activities for grade I elementary schools in Jepara. The research used a qualitative approach with descriptive research methods using data collection techniques such as observation, interview and documentation. The research subjects were school principals and grade I teachers of SDN 1 Kalipucangwetan. The results of the study explain that basic literacy in teaching and learning activities in class I has a role as (1) activities that help achieve learning objectives. Literacy activities can be placed in the core activities of the lesson plan. The teacher designs learning activities as well as literacy activities (2) Media literacy can be a learning medium. The media used by the teacher is in the form of media that can be good teaching aids for literacy activities that are combined with teaching and learning activities. (3) The materials used for literacy are the same as class I subject matter, especially in alphabet, phoneme and vocabulary materials. Teaching materials that become literacy materials are adjusted to the pleasant first class characteristics

Abstract

This study aims to (1) determine the validity of the learning tools of Problems Based Learning using the Number Pocket media in the 4th grade student of elementary school; (2) determine the students’ response to the development of the learning tools of Problem Based Learning using the Number Pocket media in the 4th grade student of elementary school; (3) determine the effect to students’ learning achievement; (4) determine the effect to students' critical thinking ability; (5) determine the quality of the learning tools of Problem Based Learning using the Numbers Pocket media in terms of validity, practicality and effectiveness aspects. The type of this study is research and development with 4-D model. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling, obtained by class IV-A of Pakunden Elementary School as a control group and class IV-B as an experiment group. The result of this study showed that (1) The validation result of the RPP, LKS and the Numbers Pocket media obtained an average score 4.36, 4.49, and 4.75 “very good classification”; (2) Students’ response questionnaire analysis obtained score 4.19 "very good classification"; (3) developing a learning tools of PBL using Number Pocket media has an effect to students’ learning achievement; 4) developing a learning tools of PBL using Number Pocket media has an effect to students’ critical thinking ability; (5) the learning tools that developed has valid, practical, and effective qualities.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalahmendeskripsikan dan menganalisis: konsep, perencanaan, implementasi, dan evaluasi kurikulum sekolah alam di TK Alam Al Biruni Cirebon.Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan: wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi terhadap direktur pendidikan, kepala sekolah, guru, dan orang tua siswa. Sedangkan analisis data menggunakan prosedur: pengumpulan data, reduksi data, penyajian data, dan verifikasi data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: (1) kurikulum yang diterapkan merupakan perpaduan dari kurikulum nasional dan khas sekolah alam berbasis multiple intellegence berpilar pada akhlak serta terintegrasi menggunakan metode spider web, (2) perencanaan kurikulumdiwujudkan dalam bentuk silabus dan Rencana Kerja Harian; (3) pelaksanaan kurikulummenitik beratkan kepada pembentukan karakter dan akhlak; (4) evaluasi dilaksanakan berupa evaluasi mingguan, bulanan, dan tahunan. The purpose of the research were describe and analyze: concept, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nature school curriculum Al Biruni Cirebon nature kindergarten. The method used in this research is qualitative descriptive method by case study approach. Data collection techniques were used: interviews, observation, and study the document to Director of educatin, principal, teacher, and parents. While the analysis of the data using the procedure: data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and data verification.The results showed: (1) curriculum applied a blend of national curriculum and school-based natural typical multiple Intellegence pillared on moral as well as integrated using web spider, (2) curriculum planning relevant with the form of syllabus and Work Plan Daily; (3) the implementation of the curriculum emphasize the formation of character and good morals; (4) evaluation consist of weekly, monthly, and yearly.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis dan mendeskripsikan perencanaan supervisi akademik, pelaksanaan supervisi akademik, dan tindak lanjut serta evaluasi yang dilakukan kepala sekolah sebagai seorang supervisor di SMP Negeri 6 Cirebon. Penelitian menggunakan penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Hasil penelitian peran kepala sekolah sebagai seorang supervisor di SMP Negeri 6 Cirebon yaitu (1) Kepala sekolah membagi perannya sebagai seorang supervisor dengan tim PKG dan tim pendamping atau guru koordinator dan tetap memantau kinerja guru koordinator; (2) Perencanaan supervisi akademik diawali dengan pembuatan program supervisi guru yang disusun pada awal semester untuk satu tahun ajaran; (3) Pelaksanaan supervisi akademik dibagi menjadi dua tahap, tahap pertama ialah supervisi perencanaan pembelajaran di mana seluruh administrasi pembelajaran dianalisis dan dinilai, tahap kedua ialah supervisi kegiatan pembelajaran; (4) Tindak lanjut berupa bimbingan serta penguatan dan evaluasi keseluruhan program dilakukan pada rapat besar akhir semester. The purpose of this study is to analyze and describe the planning, implementation, follow-up and evaluation from academic supervision by the principals as supervisor of SMP Negeri 6 Cirebon. This study used qualitatif research with case study approach. This results of the principal role as a supervisor in SMP Negeri 6 Cirebon are (1) the principal divide his role as a supervisor with PKG tean and companion team or coordinator teachers but still monitoring the performance of coordinator teachers; (2) the planning of academic supervision starts with arranged teachers supervision program that compiled at the beginning of new singular semester for one year school learning; (3) implementation of academic supervision divided into two phases, the first phase is supervised learning plan which the entire administration learning is analyzed and assessed, second phase is learning activities; (4) the follow-up is guidence and strengthening and entire evaluation of the program performed at the end of the semester in the meeting.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh penerapan pembelajaran blended learning yang memerlukan interaksi dan komunikasi guru dan peserta didik yang lebih banyak, sementara ketersediaan waktu tatap muka dalam pembelajaran masih kurang. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis model blended learning yang digunakan saat ini, mengembangkan model blended learning dan menguji keefektifan model blended learning berbasis masalah. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian dan pengembangan (R & D). Analisis deskriptif untuk mengetahui gambaran atau besarnya persentase data penilaian produk dan angket keefektifan yang berada pada ketegori minimal baik sampai sangat baik. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa (1) Blended learning yang selama ini dilaksanakan menggunakan LMS Edmodo yang hanya diimplementasikan untuk keperluan evaluasi pembelajaran. (2) Model blended learning berbasis masalah layak digunakan berdasarkan hasil validasi ahli yaitu persentase validasi silabus 90%, persentase validasi RPP 84,55 % dan validasi e-learning 83%. (3) Model blended learning berbasis masalah efektif digunakan dalam pembelajaran berdasarkan hasil post test kelas control 77,33 dan rerata post test kelas eksperimen 81,11. Hasil analisis Uji t diperoleh nilai thitung = 2,161 dengan pvalue = 0,03 < 0,05 yang berarti bahwa ada perbedaan hasil belajar yang signifikan antara kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Manfaat penelitian untuk menambah khasanah keilmuan dalam teknologi pembelajaran tentang blended learning khususnya penggunaan Edmodo pada pembelajaran berbasis masalah untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar peserta didik.This research is motivated by the application of blended learning requires more interaction and communication of teachers and learners, while discussing face time in learning is still lacking. The purpose of this research is to analyze the blended learning model used today, to develop blended learning model and effectiveness strategy. The method used in this research is research and development (R & D) method. Descriptive analysis to know the description and value of the percentage of product valuation data and questionnaire effectiveness that is in the minimum category good until very good. The results showed (1) Blended learning which has been implemented using LMS Edmodo which only implemented for learning learning. (2) Problem-based blended learning model using expert validation that is percentage of validation of syllabus 90%, validation percentage of RPP 84, 55% and e-learning validation 83%. (3) blended learning model based on 77.33 control class exam and experimental class experimental grade. Result of t test analysis got tcount = 2,161 with pvalue = 0,03 < 0,05 which mean there is difference of learning result which significant between experiment class and control class. Benefits of research to add variance science in learning technology about learning models, especially the use of edmodo applications in learning-based outcomes learners to learn.

Abstract

The implementation of the learning model is an important matter to develop students’ skills. Among them is writing – the most difficult skill. Innovation in managing learning management is a solution to improve students’ wiring skill. This research aims to find out the effectiveness of mind mapping and think pair share to improve fantasy story writing skill, to analyze the differences of male and female writing skill, and to analyze the interaction of learning model and sex types of seventh graders of Bulu 02 Primary School, Rembang City. It is a factorial (2x2) experimental research. The sample is taken by proportionate stratified random sampling. The data is analyzed using Two-way ANOVA. The findings show: (1) different effectiveness between mind mapping and think pair share aided by audiovisual media to improve fantasy story writing skill, (2) different learning achievement of male and female toward fantasy story writing skill, (3) no interaction between mind mapping and think pair share aided by audiovisual media to male and female in improving fantasy story writing skill. Based on the findings, it can be concluded: there is a difference of effectiveness of both model; there is a difference of learning achievement between male and female students, but there is no interaction between those two models to sex types of the students. This study contributes to the latest novelty of mind mapping learning model and thinks pair share in learning Indonesian language and contributes scientifically to education by providing innovation in learning the Indonesian language.
