Abstract

This study explores the reform of Indonesian marriage law through the lens of maqasid al-usrah, the family-centered objectives within Islamic legal theory. It critically assesses whether key legal reforms such as marriage registration, minimum age requirements, regulation of divorce, and prenuptial asset arrangements align with the ethical aims of Islamic family law, including the protection of lineage, dignity, justice, and family welfare. Employing a qualitative library research method, the paper draws on classical Islamic jurisprudence, statutory legal documents, court practices, and the analytical framework of Jamaluddin al-Athiyya. It finds that while Indonesian legislation increasingly incorporates maslahah (public benefit) and maqasid reasoning to justify reforms, the implementation often falls short due to bureaucratic barriers, legal pluralism, and social inequality. For instance, minimum age laws are undermined by widespread judicial dispensations, and formal protections for women are diluted by enduring patriarchal norms and unequal access to justice. The study argues that maqasid al-usrah has been invoked more as a justificatory narrative than as a fully operational legal method. It concludes that meaningful application of maqasid requires not only legal reform but also structural, procedural, and cultural transformation to ensure that laws genuinely promote justice, protect the vulnerable, and reflect the dynamic needs of Indonesian Muslim society. This research contributes to the growing discourse on maqasid-based legal reform and offers a practical framework for evaluating future policy developments in Islamic family law.

Abstract

Badan Permusyawaratan Desa (BPD) is a solid partner of the village government in building and prospering the people as well as the full holder and implementer of village community sovereignty and plays a role not as an extension of the government, but rather as a representative of the community as well as an intermediary between the community and the Village Government. Village management must meet the principles: (1) Legal Certainty, (2) Orderly Administration of Government, (3) Orderly Public Interest, (4) Openness, (5) Proportionality, (6) Professionalism, (7) Accountability, (8) Effectiveness and efficiency, (9) Local wisdom, (10) Diversity, and (11) Participatory. Of all the principles of village management, the principles of accountability and transparency are often not met, thereby increasing the opportunity for fraud to occur, so assistance is needed in the preparation of BPD work programs in increasing village accountability. Mentoring activities succeeded in increasing the competence of village officials in the preparation of BPD work programs to improve accountability and good transparency. This can be seen from the increasing value of the acquisition of pretest scores above 70 by 69% and posttest scores above 70 by 89%.

Abstract

Abstract The dam break method for simulating tsunami surges in the laboratory typically uses a sufficiently long flume, so that the upstream section of the flume, which serves as the reservoir, is also quite long. Using a long reservoir can provide a more extended simulation time for tsunami surge propagation on land, allowing the characteristics of the tsunami surge to be well observed. With a shorter flume, the reservoir space is also limited in length, and the simulation time for tsunami surge propagation is likewise constrained. This study aims to describe the characteristics of the simulated tsunami surge in comparison to the Chanson solution using a limited (short) reservoir. The tsunami surge simulation in a dry channel was conducted under the assumption of a limited reservoir with no bed slope. The water height in the reservoir varied from (d0) = 100 mm, 200 mm, 300 mm, and 400 mm, and the simulation was performed three times for each reservoir height. The tsunami surge simulation with downstream inundation was conducted similarly, but with an initial downstream inundation height of d1 = 100 mm and 150 mm, without initial velocity. The analysis results showed that the height and velocity of the tsunami surge from the simulation for both dry and inundated channels approached the results from Chanson's solution. This indicates that a limited flume length can be used to simulate tsunami surges with the dam break method, and that simulations with initial inundation can simulate the waveforms of undular bore and fully developed bore.

Abstract

Higher education entrance selection activities are intended to obtain superior student candidates. The opportunity to take part in the selection is given to all high school graduate students and equivalent. The student entrance test at PTN consists of three types of selection routes, namely the SNMPTN or invitation route, the SBMPTN, and the independent examination held by state universities. Starting from the dataset, data selection was carried out from 143 students' data and 7 attribute selections were carried out using preprocessing using data transformation first. The aim of using data transformation is to simplify the data training process for MAN 1 students in Cirebon. Preprocessing for prediction of classification results, accuracy of testing data for 143 students is implemented in the program and the resulting calculation process will be more efficient. After going through the preprocessing stage, the data is divided into training data and testing data using 10-fold cross validation. Next, for the classification process, a comparison of two methods will be used, namely for the first method using CART, the second method using SVM by adding Gain ratio weighting. The results of the research show that in the first experiment the researcher carried out a comparative trial of cross validation and classification performance and used the CART and SVM algorithms. The results comparison using the CART algorithm gets an accuracy of 86.10% and the SVM algorithm method for classifying students entering PTN was 86.71%.

Abstract

Purpose: The prompt identification of breast cancer is crucial in preventing the considerable damage inflicted by this dangerous form of cancer, which is widely happened across the globe. This study seeks to refine the efficacy of a deep learning-driven approach for the precise diagnosis of breast cancer by employing diverse bespoke Rectified Linear Units (ReLU) to improve the model's performance and reduce inaccuracies within the system. Method: This study focuses on analyzing a deep learning approach utilizing the BreakHis dataset with 7,909 images, incorporating changes to the ReLU activation function across different pre-trained CNN models. It then evaluates performance through measurement such as accuracy, precision, recall, and F1-Score. Result: Based on our experiment results, it can be shown that the DenseNet201 models with a custom LeakyReLU excel beyond the typical ReLU, achieving the highest accuracy, recall, and F1-Score at 99.21%, 99.21%, and 99.11%, respectively. Simultaneously, ResNet152, utilizing LessNegativeReLU (α=0.05), achieved the highest precision at 99.11%. The VGG11 model exhibited the most notable performance enhancement, with improvements ranging from 1.39% to 1.59%. Novelty: The research is original in optimizing a model for accurate breast cancer diagnosis. The proposed model is superior to the model utilizing the default activation function. This finding indicates that the study significantly enhances performance while effectively minimizing errors, thereby necessitating further exploration into the effectiveness of the customized activation function when applied to other medical imaging modalities.
