Abstract

ABSTRACT Improving teacher performance is a key factor in the success of learning, yet it still faces challenges such as low levels of innovation and limited use of technology. This study aims to examine how school climate and the leadership style of principals influence the performance of elementary school teachers in Cluster 2 Bilah Hulu, Labuhanbatu Regency. The method used is a quantitative ex-post facto design with a sample of 56 teachers selected proportionally. Research data were collected through questionnaires, observations, and documentation. The data were then analyzed using multiple linear regression with the assistance of SPSS, after first passing validity, reliability, and classical assumption tests. The findings indicate that school climate and the principal’s leadership style have a positive and significant effect on teacher performance, with leadership style being the most dominant factor. Simultaneously, both variables contribute 83.3% to teacher performance. Based on these results, it can be concluded that teacher performance can be improved through the creation of a conducive school climate and effective principal leadership, making these two aspects key factors in enhancing the quality of primary education. ABSTRAK Peningkatan kinerja guru merupakan faktor utama dalam keberhasilan pembelajaran, namun masih menghadapi kendala seperti rendahnya inovasi dan pemanfaatan teknologi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji bagaimana iklim sekolah serta gaya kepemimpinan kepala sekolah memengaruhi kinerja guru sekolah dasar yang berada di Gugus 2 Bilah Hulu, Kabupaten Labuhanbatu. Metode yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif jenis ex-post facto dengan sampel 56 guru yang dipilih secara proporsional. Data penelitian diperoleh melalui penyebaran kuesioner, kegiatan observasi, serta pengumpulan dokumentasi. Selanjutnya, data dianalisis dengan metode regresi linear berganda menggunakan bantuan SPSS, setelah terlebih dahulu melewati pengujian validitas, reliabilitas, dan asumsi klasik. Temuan penelitian mengindikasikan bahwa iklim sekolah dan gaya kepemimpinan kepala sekolah memberikan pengaruh yang positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja guru, di mana gaya kepemimpinan menjadi faktor yang paling dominan. Secara simultan, kedua variabel memberikan kontribusi sebesar 83,3% terhadap kinerja guru. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa kinerja guru dapat ditingkatkan melalui terciptanya iklim sekolah yang kondusif serta kepemimpinan kepala sekolah yang efektif, sehingga kedua aspek tersebut menjadi faktor utama dalam upaya meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan dasar.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Teacher performance is a key factor in improving the quality of education; however, it is still influenced by various psychological and organizational aspects that are not yet optimal, such as expectations, empowerment, and self-confidence. This study aims to analyze the effect of expectations, empowerment, and self-confidence on the performance of elementary school teachers in Bilah Hulu District. This research employed a quantitative approach using a survey method involving 120 teachers selected from a population of 172. Data were collected through questionnaires that met validity and reliability requirements and were analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results show that expectations, empowerment, and self-confidence partially have a positive and significant effect on teacher performance. Simultaneously, the three variables also have a significant effect, with an F-value of 50.014 (p < 0.05). The coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.564 indicates that 56.4% of the variation in teacher performance can be explained by these variables. The study concludes that improving teacher performance can be achieved through strengthening professional expectations, optimizing empowerment, and continuously developing teachers’ self-confidence. Therefore, schools need to create a supportive work environment and encourage the development of teachers’ psychological aspects as part of strategies to enhance educational quality. ABSTRAK Kinerja guru merupakan faktor kunci dalam peningkatan mutu pendidikan, namun masih dipengaruhi oleh berbagai aspek psikologis dan organisasi yang belum optimal, seperti ekspektasi, pemberdayaan, dan kepercayaan diri. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh ekspektasi, pemberdayaan, dan kepercayaan diri terhadap kinerja guru sekolah dasar di Kecamatan Bilah Hulu. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode survei terhadap 120 guru yang dipilih dari populasi sebanyak 172 guru. Data dikumpulkan melalui angket yang telah memenuhi syarat validitas dan reliabilitas, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan regresi linear berganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ekspektasi, pemberdayaan, dan kepercayaan diri secara parsial berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja guru. Secara simultan, ketiga variabel juga berpengaruh signifikan dengan nilai Fhitung sebesar 50,014 (p < 0,05). Nilai koefisien determinasi (R²) sebesar 0,564 menunjukkan bahwa 56,4% variasi kinerja guru dapat dijelaskan oleh ketiga variabel tersebut.. Kesimpulan penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa peningkatan kinerja guru dapat dicapai melalui penguatan ekspektasi profesional, optimalisasi pemberdayaan, serta pengembangan kepercayaan diri guru secara berkelanjutan. Oleh karena itu, sekolah perlu menciptakan lingkungan kerja yang suportif dan mendorong pengembangan aspek psikologis guru sebagai bagian dari strategi peningkatan mutu pendidikan.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to analyze the managerial competence of the principal in responding to curriculum changes at SD IT Rabbani Rantauprapat, Labuhanbatu Regency. Curriculum changes in the education system require principals to possess strong managerial abilities to ensure effective curriculum implementation. As educational leaders, principals play a strategic role in planning, organizing, and supervising curriculum implementation in schools. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach conducted at SD IT Rabbani Rantauprapat, Labuhanbatu Regency. The informants include the principal, vice principal for curriculum, teachers, and foundation supervisors. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, and analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model, which consists of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. Data validity was ensured through source and technique triangulation. The results show that the principal’s managerial competence in addressing curriculum changes has been implemented through several aspects. First, the principal carried out strategic planning through coordination meetings and school work meetings to discuss curriculum implementation. Second, the principal organized the process by forming a curriculum development team and assigning tasks to teachers according to their competencies. Third, the principal conducted supervision and guidance to improve the quality of teaching and learning. Fourth, the foundation provided support for curriculum implementation in the school. However, the principal still faced several challenges, such as differences in teachers’ understanding of the new curriculum and limited time to prepare instructional materials. Therefore, the principal’s managerial competence plays a crucial role in the successful implementation of curriculum changes in the school. ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kompetensi manajerial kepala sekolah dalam menindaklanjuti perubahan kurikulum di SD IT Rabbani Rantauprapat Kabupaten Labuhanbatu. Perubahan kurikulum yang terjadi dalam sistem pendidikan menuntut kepala sekolah memiliki kemampuan manajerial yang baik agar proses implementasi kurikulum dapat berjalan secara efektif. Kepala sekolah sebagai pemimpin pendidikan memiliki peran strategis dalam merencanakan, mengorganisasikan, serta melakukan supervisi terhadap pelaksanaan kurikulum di sekolah. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif yang dilaksanakan di SD IT Rabbani Rantauprapat, Kabupaten Labuhanbatu. Informan meliputi kepala sekolah, wakil kepala sekolah bidang kurikulum, guru, dan pengawas yayasan. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi, kemudian dianalisis dengan model Miles dan Huberman melalui tahap reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Keabsahan data dijamin melalui triangulasi sumber dan teknik.. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kompetensi manajerial kepala sekolah dalam menindaklanjuti perubahan kurikulum telah dilaksanakan melalui beberapa aspek. Pertama, kepala sekolah melakukan perencanaan strategi melalui rapat koordinasi dan rapat kerja sekolah untuk membahas implementasi kurikulum. Kedua, kepala sekolah melakukan pengorganisasian dengan membentuk tim pengembang kurikulum serta melakukan pembagian tugas kepada guru sesuai dengan kompetensinya. Ketiga, kepala sekolah melaksanakan supervisi dan pembinaan kepada guru untuk meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran. Keempat, yayasan memberikan dukungan terhadap pelaksanaan kurikulum di sekolah. Namun demikian, kepala sekolah masih menghadapi beberapa kendala, seperti perbedaan pemahaman guru terhadap kurikulum baru serta keterbatasan waktu dalam menyusun perangkat pembelajaran. Dengan demikian, kompetensi manajerial kepala sekolah memiliki peran penting dalam keberhasilan implementasi perubahan kurikulum di sekolah.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Teacher performance is an important factor in determining the quality of learning in elementary schools. This study aims to examine the relationship between work motivation and teacher performance, the relationship between work discipline and teacher performance, and the simultaneous relationship of work motivation and work discipline with teacher performance in the Cluster One Elementary Schools of Bilah Hulu District. The subjects of this study were teachers from Cluster One Elementary Schools in Bilah Hulu District, with a total sample of 45 respondents. This research employed a quantitative method with two independent variables and one dependent variable. Based on the results of hypothesis testing, it can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between work motivation and teacher performance, with a value of 0.536. In addition, work discipline also shows a significant relationship with teacher performance, with a value of 0.442. Simultaneously, work motivation and work discipline demonstrate a significant relationship with teacher performance, with a value of 0.655. Thus, work motivation and work discipline simultaneously contribute 44.2% to the improvement of teacher performance. Overall, the findings indicate that efforts to enhance teacher performance can be carried out through strengthening both work motivation and work discipline. ABSTRAK Kinerja guru merupakan faktor penting dalam menentukan kualitas pembelajaran di sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji hubungan antara motivasi kerja dengan kinerja guru, hubungan antara disiplin kerja dengan kinerja guru, serta keterkaitan motivasi dan disiplin kerja secara simultan terhadap kinerja guru di SD Gugus Satu Kecamatan Bilah Hulu. Subjek penelitian adalah Guru SD Gugus Satu Kecamatan Bilah Hulu dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 45 orang. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan dua variabel independen dan satu variabel dependen. Berdasarkan hasil uji hipotesis, dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara motivasi kerja dan kinerja guru dengan nilai sebesar 0,536. Selain itu, disiplin kerja juga memiliki hubungan yang signifikan dengan kinerja guru sebesar 0,442. Secara simultan, motivasi kerja dan disiplin kerja menunjukkan hubungan yang signifikan dengan kinerja guru dengan nilai sebesar 0,655. Dengan demikian, secara simultan motivasi kerja dan disiplin kerja berkontribusi terhadap peningkatan kinerja guru sebesar 44,2%. Secara umum, hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa upaya peningkatan kinerja guru dapat dilakukan melalui penguatan motivasi kerja dan disiplin kerja.

Abstract

In Indonesia Science education has not reached a portion that is in accordance with the needs of science education. Science learning should not only focus on knowledge but must also be balanced with application in everyday life. With this application, students will know that what they learn in science is applied and useful for life. That way, students will continue to try to experiment because of their high curiosity so that students are able to produce scientific products. Science problems are not only experienced by students, but teachers who teach science at school also have science problems they face. For this reason, Chat GPT (Generative Pre-Trainer Transformer) is used as one of the Open AI (Artificial Intelligence) innovations, a research company engaged in the development of artificial intelligence. The purpose of this research is to explain GPT Chat for Teachers and Students in Science Learning. A review is conducted on the state-of-the-art methods using the preferred reporting items for reviews and meta-analyses (PRISMA) guidelines. The results of this research show that Chat GPT has main functions, Chat GPT also has many uses for teachers and students, and science learning has five domains of science education, which must be supported by appropriate technological sophistication.

Abstract

The evolution of technology in education has opened new doors for innovative teaching methods. One such breakthrough tool is ChatGPT, a learning model developed by Open AI. Open AI has huge potential, not only to increase efficiency but also to improve pedagogy for more engaging learning experiences. The purpose of this research is to test the integration of GPT Chat in Project Based-Learning in Learning. This research uses a systematic literature review method using Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews (PRISMA). The results of this research explain that in the Industrial Revolution Era 4.0, educational institutions must prepare new literacy and orientation in the field of education, the new literacy itself is in the form of data, technology, and human resource literacy. Project-based learning is a learning model that emphasizes student activity in solving various problems through a series of activities starting with gathering information, planning a project, and producing a particular product packaged in the form of project work. The stages of project-based learning are Determining basic questions, developing a project plan, Developing a schedule, Monitoring, Test results, and Evaluation of experience. ChatGPT is a research tool or “thought partner”, and is said to be useful for a variety of teaching purposes. The application of the PjBL model has the potential to improve student learning outcomes and motivation in Indonesia. Therefore, the integration of GPT chat with Project Based-learning in learning needs to receive further attention so that it can make a more significant contribution to improving the quality of learning and student motivation in Indonesia.

Abstract

The use of Virtual Reality in education can revolutionize the learning experience of students through immersive and captivating encounters that can enhance their understanding of the subject can provide a meaningful and enjoyable Virtual Reality experience. Where the research objective is to examine the latest trends in Virtual Reality for meaningful and enjoyable science learning: Systematic Literature Review. Abstract

ABSTRACT This study is grounded in the importance of the principal’s role as an educational leader. School program planning constitutes a strategic responsibility aimed at improving educational quality through the implementation of School-Based Management. This study aims to describe the principal’s leadership in planning the development of School-Based Management (SBM) at SD Negeri 01 Pangkatan using a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. The research subjects include the principal, classroom teachers, Physical Education (PJOK) teachers, and educational staff, with data collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The data were analyzed through stages of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the principal’s leadership in planning SBM development is carried out in a participatory manner by involving teachers and educational staff in formulating the school’s vision and mission, designing work programs, and managing school resources. The principal acts as a director, coordinator, and decision-maker, supported by effective communication and coordination, enabling the development of systematic programs aligned with school needs. Therefore, participatory and communicative leadership contributes to enhancing stakeholder involvement and improving the quality of education. ABSTRAK Penelitian ini dilandasi oleh pentingnya peran kepala sekolah sebagai pemimpin dalam dunia pendidikan. Perencanaan program sekolah merupakan tanggung jawab strategis untuk mendorong peningkatan mutu pendidikan melalui penerapan Manajemen Berbasis Sekolah. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan kepemimpinan kepala sekolah dalam merancang pengembangan Manajemen Berbasis Sekolah (MBS) di SD Negeri 01 Pangkatan dengan pendekatan kualitatif metode deskriptif. Subjek penelitian meliputi kepala sekolah, guru kelas, guru PJOK, serta tenaga kependidikan, dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Data dianalisis melalui tahapan reduksi, penyajian, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kepemimpinan kepala sekolah dalam perencanaan pengembangan MBS dilaksanakan secara partisipatif dengan melibatkan guru dan tenaga kependidikan dalam perumusan visi dan misi, penyusunan program kerja, serta pengelolaan sumber daya sekolah. Kepala sekolah berperan sebagai pengarah, koordinator, dan pengambil keputusan, didukung oleh komunikasi dan koordinasi yang baik sehingga program sekolah tersusun secara sistematis sesuai kebutuhan. Dengan demikian, kepemimpinan yang partisipatif dan komunikatif berkontribusi dalam meningkatkan keterlibatan warga sekolah dan mutu pendidikan.

This study aims to examine the effect of principals’ managerial leadership, school culture, and work motivation on teacher performance in public elementary schools located in Bilah Hulu District, Labuhanbatu Regency. This research employed a quantitative approach using a survey method involving 50 teachers selected through a saturated sampling technique. Data were collected through Likert-scale questionnaires that had been tested for validity and reliability, and then analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results show that principals’ managerial leadership, school culture, and work motivation, both partially and simultaneously, have a positive and significant effect on teacher performance. The strength of the model is indicated by the coefficient of determination (R²) value of 0.629, meaning that 62.9% of the variation in teacher performance can be explained by these three variables. These findings emphasize that improving teacher performance requires strengthening principals’ leadership practices, fostering a conducive school culture, and continuously enhancing teachers’ work motivation. ABSTRAK Kinerja guru merupakan faktor kunci dalam menentukan mutu pendidikan di sekolah dasar, namun masih dipengaruhi oleh berbagai aspek manajerial dan psikologis di lingkungan sekolah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh kepemimpinan manajerial kepala sekolah, budaya sekolah, dan motivasi kerja terhadap kinerja guru di Sekolah Dasar Negeri yang berada di Kecamatan Bilah Hulu, Kabupaten Labuhanbatu. Penelitian ini menerapkan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode survei terhadap 50 guru yang dipilih menggunakan teknik sampling jenuh. Data dikumpulkan melalui angket berskala Likert yang telah melalui uji validitas dan reliabilitas, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan regresi linear berganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kepemimpinan manajerial kepala sekolah, budaya sekolah, dan motivasi kerja, baik secara parsial maupun simultan, memberikan pengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja guru. Kekuatan model ditunjukkan oleh nilai koefisien determinasi (R²) sebesar 0,629, yang berarti 62,9% variasi kinerja guru dapat dijelaskan oleh ketiga variabel tersebut. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa peningkatan kinerja guru perlu dilakukan melalui penguatan praktik kepemimpinan kepala sekolah, penciptaan budaya sekolah yang kondusif, serta peningkatan motivasi kerja guru secara berkelanjutan.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Teacher performance is one of the important aspects that influences the quality of learning and the success of education in elementary schools. However, the level of teacher performance is still influenced by various factors, both originating from within the teachers themselves and from the school environment. This study aims to analyze the influence of school climate and principal leadership on the performance of elementary school teachers in Cluster 2 Bilah Hulu, Labuhanbatu Regency. This research employed a quantitative approach with an associative correlational ex post facto design. The population of this study consisted of 128 elementary school teachers, while the sample included 97 respondents selected using the Slovin formula with a 5% error rate. Data collection techniques used questionnaires that had passed validity and reliability tests. Data analysis was conducted using multiple linear regression assisted by SPSS version 26, including classical assumption tests, t-tests, F-tests, and coefficient of determination tests. The results showed that school climate had a positive and significant effect on teacher performance with a significance value of 0.003 < 0.05. In addition, principal leadership was also proven to have a positive and significant effect on teacher performance with a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05. Simultaneously, school climate and principal leadership had a positive and significant influence on teacher performance with a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05. The coefficient of determination value of 0.445 indicates that 44.5% of the variation in teacher performance can be explained by these two variables. Therefore, the creation of a conducive school climate and effective principal leadership are important factors in improving teacher performance. ABSTRAK Kinerja guru menjadi salah satu aspek penting yang berpengaruh terhadap mutu pembelajaran serta keberhasilan pendidikan di sekolah dasar. Namun demikian, tingkat kinerja tersebut masih dipengaruhi oleh beragam faktor, baik yang berasal dari dalam diri guru maupun dari lingkungan sekolah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh iklim sekolah dan kepemimpinan kepala sekolah terhadap kinerja guru Sekolah Dasar yang berada di Gugus 2 Bilah Hulu, Kabupaten Labuhanbatu. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain ex post facto yang bersifat asosiatif korelasional. Populasi dalam penelitian terdiri atas 128 guru Sekolah Dasar, sedangkan sampel penelitian berjumlah 97 responden yang ditentukan menggunakan rumus Slovin dengan tingkat kesalahan sebesar 5%. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan angket yang telah melalui uji validitas dan reliabilitas. Analisis data dilakukan dengan metode regresi linear berganda berbantuan program SPSS versi 26, yang meliputi uji asumsi klasik, uji t, uji F, serta uji koefisien determinasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa iklim sekolah memiliki pengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja guru dengan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,003 < 0,05. Selain itu, kepemimpinan kepala sekolah juga terbukti berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja guru dengan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,000 < 0,05. Secara simultan, iklim sekolah dan kepemimpinan kepala sekolah memberikan pengaruh positif serta signifikan terhadap kinerja guru dengan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,000 < 0,05. Nilai koefisien determinasi sebesar 0,445 menunjukkan bahwa sebesar 44,5% variasi kinerja guru dapat dijelaskan oleh kedua variabel tersebut. Oleh karena itu, terciptanya iklim sekolah yang kondusif serta kepemimpinan kepala sekolah yang efektif menjadi faktor penting dalam upaya meningkatkan kinerja guru.
