Abstract

This study aims to analyze Indonesian historiography for education from a methodological perspective. The main problem raised was what historical narratives are suitable for the Indonesia as a multiethnic state? This research analyzes the historiography for education published along the New Order period (1967-1998) to the Reformation era (1998-now). The approach used was hermeneutic developed by Heidegger and Gadamer. They view that an audience is a crucial person in interpreting historical narrative. The historiographical study results indicate that the historical narrative developed did not represent objective, deterministic, and monolithic. This study not only criticized the Indonesian history narrative that was published but also offered the use of Inter-Ethnics Relations and 'History from within' approach as the solution. The inter-Ethnics Relations approach highlights the intensity of positive interactions between ethnics to eliminate prejudice and conflict. On the other hand, history from within approach makes historical events understood as representations of the socio-cultural system. Historical action is interpreted and understood as an effort to realize the ideal life order under historical actors' values and culture. Through these two approaches, the historical narrative makes sense for people from all ethnicities as citizens of the Indonesia.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis historiografi Indonesia untuk pendidikan dari perspektif metodologis. Masalah utama yang diangkat adalah narasi sejarah apa yang cocok untuk Indonesia sebagai negara multietnis? Penelitian ini menganalisis historiografi pendidikan yang diterbitkan pada masa Orde Baru (1967-1998) hingga era Reformasi (1998-sekarang). Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah hermeneutik yang dikembangkan oleh Heidegger dan Gadamer. Mereka memandang bahwa penonton adalah orang yang sangat penting dalam menafsirkan narasi sejarah. Hasil kajian historiografis menunjukkan bahwa narasi sejarah yang dikembangkan tidak merepresentasikan objektif, deterministik, dan monolitik. Kajian ini tidak hanya mengkritisi narasi sejarah Indonesia yang diterbitkan tetapi juga menawarkan penggunaan Hubungan Antar Etnis dan pendekatan 'Sejarah dari dalam' sebagai solusinya. Pendekatan Hubungan Antar Etnis menyoroti intensitas interaksi positif antar etnis untuk menghilangkan prasangka dan konflik. Di sisi lain, pendekatan sejarah dari dalam membuat peristiwa sejarah dipahami sebagai representasi dari sistem sosial budaya. Tindakan sejarah dimaknai dan dipahami sebagai upaya mewujudkan tatanan kehidupan yang ideal di bawah nilai dan budaya pelaku sejarah. Melalui dua pendekatan ini, narasi sejarah masuk akal bagi orang-orang dari semua etnis sebagai warga negara Indonesia.Cite this article: Purwanta, H. (2022). Abstract

Historical literacy is currently one of the goals of history learning in the National Curriculum. This term is not widely known by history teachers in Indonesia, so there is confusion in its application. Singapore, as a country with a high level of literacy, provides directions for using historical inquiry in history learning. This research aims to identify the definition of historical literacy, strategies for strengthening historical literacy, and how to apply historical inquiry to strengthen historical literacy. This research uses a qualitative approach with library study data collection techniques, as well as data analysis using content analysis. The documents used are the Singapore secondary school syllabus issued in 2021, as well as articles containing history and literacy. The results of the first research state that historical literacy is not just reading texts, but analyzing and criticizing historical texts. Second, strategies for strengthening historical literacy can be carried out by using documents (primary and secondary sources) and then asking students to analyze them, or with the help of films combined with learning models. Third, historical inquiry is a learning model listed in the Singapore Curriculum which aims to make students truly feel like they are historical researchers. There are four phases that students need to go through in this model, namely provoking curiosity, collecting data, practicing argumentation, and reflective thinking. These four phases are a series of cycles that will train students to "reading like a historian".

Abstract

Abstract This article aims to compare historical literacy in Australia with Indonesia. The purpose of writing the article is to understand the similarities and differences in historical literacy in Australia and Indonesia. This study uses a literature review method on Scopus journal. Articles published between 2010-2024. The results were 36 documents about historical literacy in Australia and 13 journal articles about historical literacy in Indonesia. A total of 20 articles were analyzed in more depth because they were appropriate to the topic. The result is that historical literacy in Indonesia is still low, both at secondary and tertiary levels. The goals of historical literacy in Australia and Indonesia have similarities, namely increasing students' historical awareness of the concept of critical historical thinking. The use of digital media is important to improve historical literacy, in Indonesia using various digital media such as the web, historical YouTube, films, e-modules, and multimedia. In Australia, movies and e-books are used. For learning methods in Australia, the PAPA model, and receptive and productive models are applied. In Indonesia, increasing historical literacy uses the "like a historian" model, the READI model, the "brainwriting" model, and the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) model.Abstrak Artikel ini bermaksud untuk membandingkan literasi sejarah di Australia dengan Indonesia. Tujuan penulisan artikel adalah untuk memahami persamaan dan perbedaan literasi sejarah di Australia dan Indonesia. Kajian ini menggunakan metode literature review terhadap artikel jurnal scopus yang terbit antara tahun 2010-2024. Hasilnya diperoleh 36 dokumen tentang literasi sejarah di Australia dan 13 artikel jurnal tentang literasi sejarah di Indonesia. Sebanyak 20 artikel dianalsisi secara lebih mendalam karena sesuai dengan topik. Hasilnya literasi sejarah di Indonesia masih rendah, baik di tingkat menengah dan perguruan tinggi. Tujuan literasi sejarah di Australia dan Indonesia memiliki persamaan yaitu meningkatkan kesadaran sejarah siswa dengan konsep berpikir sejarah secara kritis. Penggunaan media digital menjadi penting untuk meningkatkan literasi sejarah, di Indonesia menggunakan berbagai media digital seperti web, youtube sejarah, film, e-modul dan multimedia. Di Australia menggunakan media film, dan e-book. Untuk metode pembelajaran di Australia menerapkan model PAPA, model reseptif, dan produktif. Di Indonesia peningkatan literasi sejarah menggunakan model “like a historian”, model READI, model “brain writing” dan model Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL).

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the results of exploring stambul comedy as part of Indies art in early 20th-century Semarang as an effort to implement meaningful learning about colonialism for students. This research was conducted using a qualitative framework with a case study approach. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and document studies. The data analysis for this research referred to Yin’s two patterns: pattern matching and explanation building. The results showed that the narrative of Stambul comedy in early 20th-century Semarang is relevant for developing students’ knowledge about colonialism in a more contextual manner. Findings indicate that students’ initial understanding of colonialism was still not contextual and tended to be theoretical, with colonialism merely understood as a process of occupation and domination by one nation over another. After exploring material on the development of Indies art through contextual teaching and learning, students were able to think critically and collaboratively. A constructivist process could trigger acceptance and rejection of colonialism: discovering, elaborating, and determining the meaning of learning. Moreover, students’ new knowledge could be factually constructed, influenced by factors such as reading preferences, collaborative abilities, and critical examination of texts provided by the teacher and further explored by the students.

Abstract

Pada dokumen kurikulum merdeka yang termuat di Surat Keputusan BSKAP Nomor 32 Tahun 2024 tentang Capaian Pembelajaran, dikatakan bahwa salah satu elemen sebagai bahan kajian pelajaran Pendidikan Pancasila adalah Pancasila. Pancasila sebagai dasar negara memang layak untuk menjadi kajian utama Pendidikan Pancasila sebagai pendidikan kewarganegaraan di sekolah. Pemahaman guru yang benar, luas dan mendalam perihal kajian Pancasila akan mampu memberikan pembelajaran yang semakin bermakna tentang Pancasila dan diharapkan siswa semakin kuat untuk menerima dan mempertahankan Pancasila. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk mendampingi guru Pendidikan Pancasila mengeksplorasi, mengeloborasi dan mengkonfirmasi secara benar tentang Pancasila. Metode yang digunakan adalah sosialiasi dan diskusi yang dilakukan dengan cara tatap muka (in service training) dalam bentuk kegiatan luring. Sasaran dari kegiatan adalah guru-guru Pendidikan Pancasila jenjang SMA yang tergabung di MGMP PP Kabupaten Semarang berjumlah 25 orang. Hasil dari pengabdian ini adalah guru-guru terlatih untuk mengeksplorasi dan kritis dalam mempertanyakan materi-materi ajar yang berkaitan dengan Pancasila.

Abstract

Keterbatasan pemahaman dan akses sumber digital sejarah dialami oleh guru-guru sejarah SMA di Sragen. Ini berdampak pada pembelajaran sejarah yang kurang maksimal terutama bagi pengalaman siswa dalam mengeksplorasi dan menelaah sumber-sumber sejarah digital. Di era modern saat ini, kecakapan literasi digital merupakan salah satu kunci utama peningkatan kualitas sumber daya manusia agar mampu bersaing di tingkat lokal, nasional maupun global. Untuk itulah Program Studi Pendidikan Sejarah UNS menginisiasi adanya sosialisasi peningkatan literasi digital sebagai bekal penting bagi guru sejarah SMA di Sragen. Metode yang digunakan adalah sosialisasi dan pelatihan yaitu menghadirkan narasumber ahli yang memberikan pemahaman dan cara praktis dalam mengakses berbagai sumber sejarah digital. Lewat pengabdian masyarakat ini diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa: Pertama, guru sejarah SMA Sragen mulai memahami arti penting, contoh-contoh dan cara mengaskes literasi sejarah digital seperti arsip, ebook, e-jurnal, artikel, koran online, dan portal-portal yang menyediakan virtual tour museum sejarah. Kedua, guru sejarah SMA Sragen secara bertahap mulai menguasai keterampilan dan etika kehati-hatian dalam mengolah, mengkritisi dan memanfaatkan berbagai sumber sejarah digital dalam pembelajaran.

Abstract

Program pengabdian masyarakat ini dilaksanakan di SMAN 2 Sukoharjo pada tanggal 19 Mei 2025 dengan fokus pada peningkatan literasi sains dan pembentukan karakter sesuai Profil Pelajar Pancasila pada peserta didik. Latar belakang kegiatan ini adalah kebutuhan untuk memperkuat pemahaman siswa terhadap ilmu pengetahuan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari serta menanamkan nilai-nilai seperti berpikir kritis, kolaborasi, dan tanggung jawab sosial. Tujuan program adalah memberikan pelatihan dan pendampingan melalui sesi interaktif yang melibatkan anggota OSIS sebagai peserta utama. Metode yang digunakan berupa workshop, demonstrasi, dan diskusi yang mengintegrasikan konsep sains dengan serta tema pembentukan karakter pelajar Pancasila. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan keterlibatan siswa, kemampuan berpikir ilmiah yang lebih baik, dan pemahaman nilai-nilai Pancasila secara aplikatif. Peserta aktif menunjukkan rasa ingin tahu, kemampuan komunikasi, dan tanggung jawab. Kesimpulan dari program ini adalah keberhasilannya dalam mengembangkan aspek kognitif dan afektif siswa. Kontribusi pengabdian ini adalah memberdayakan para pemimpin muda untuk menjadi individu yang melek sains sekaligus menjunjung tinggi nilai-nilai kebangsaan, sehingga menciptakan efek berkelanjutan di lingkungan sekolah.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has an impact on all aspects of life including education, hence, the government issued a study from home policy. The Ministry of Education and Culture issued a Circular Letter Number 4 of 2020 concerning the Implementation of the Education Policy for the Emergency Period of the Spread of Covid-19 conveyed that the learning process takes place remotely or learn from home. This policy was issued as an effort to reduce the spread of the virus. This is a challenge and opportunity for the world of education nowadays. Distance learning is carried out online by utilizing technology, information, and communication. The implementation of distance history learning by utilizing technology is very helpful for school on teaching and learning process, but in its progress encountered various obstacles. Facilities and infrastructure that are not adequate, the lack of readiness of teachers and students, as well as the unstable condition of the internet network is a challenge that is often encountered. Therefore, this article seeks to provide an overview of the implementation of distance learning far done during the Covid-19 pandemic. The research was conducted using a descriptive approach qualitative. The object of research was carried out on the history learning process carried out at SMA Negeri 15 Pandeglang which is located at Jalan Raya Carita KM. 05 Labuan, Banjarmasin, Carita, Pandeglang, Banten. Data obtained through primary and secondary sources and researchers as the main instrument. Technique Data collection was done by interview, observation, and document analysis. Researchers use techniques triangulation of sources and methods and analyzed with an interactive model as a data analysis technique. Abstract

Facing the era of globalization, the younger generation continues to experience an identity crisis where the younger generation is more familiar with hero figures who do not reflect eastern values, especially those that are typically Indonesian which causes the young generation to lack concern for the nation; and reduced pride in Indonesia's nationalistic identity. Digital books or e-books are a technological development that utilizes computers used to display information in the form of text, images, audio, video and other multimedia in a concise and dynamic form that can be read by computers or other electronic devices. In this case, digital books are an alternative and the right solution for learning the history of heroism in the implementation of independent learning. The purpose of this paper is to determine the role of digital history books in teaching heroic values to students. This research is analyzed using qualitative research methods. The results and discussion are: the role of learning the history of heroes through digital book media that can make it easier to teach heroic values to students. So that students are able to emulate heroic values and actualize and serve as spirit values in the life of society, nation and state.
