The data analysis method in this study uses multiple linear regression and data analysis using e-views statistical software version 10.

The study uses secondary time-series data obtained from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of North Sumatra Province. The analytical method is multiple linear regression using EViews 13. The results show that inflation has a positive and significant effect on the poverty rate, while education level and labor force participation rate have negative and significant effects. Simultaneously, inflation, education level, and labor force participation rate significantly affect the poverty rate. The adjusted R-squared of 0.810563 indicates that 81.05 percent of the variation in poverty is explained by the three independent variables, while the remaining 18.95 percent is explained by other factors outside the model.

Abstract

Cryptocurrency is an investment commodity that can generate returns and already has a license to trade in exchange. This study aims to examine the prospects of digital cryptocurrency assets more deeply by summarising the results of literature studies in various countries. In each of the continents scattered in the world, some countries support the existence of cryptocurrency as an investment asset and a means of payment. As a result of this study, it is known that many countries whose governments make strict regulations on support for legality and allow cryptocurrency transactions include: European Union members, namely Germany and Italy, and non-member countries of the European Union, such as Gibraltar. Furthermore, in the Americas, there are Canada and Venezuela. In East Asia and the Asia Pacific, Australia and Japan support the existence of cryptocurrency. Meanwhile, in Southeast Asian countries, there are contradictions between several countries, including Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, and the Philippines, that reject cryptocurrency transactions because they are considered threats to money laundering and the problem of terrorism. However, Singapore and Thailand will protect cryptocurrency investors in their countries and ensure legal regulations for cryptocurrency transactions as investment assets and legal means of payment transactions. Investments in digital currencies or cryptocurrencies are increasingly prevalent worldwide and are supported by significant price increases. Of course, this is a prospect that cryptocurrency transactions can meet the expectations of all users in the world by making regulations regarding the legality of cryptocurrency, so that the transaction model can be integrated between users, both as an asset and a substitute for international payment currencies.

Abstract

This study examines how inflation, education, and labor force participation influenced the poverty rate in North Sumatra Province during 2005-2024. Annual secondary data were obtained from Statistics of North Sumatra. Education was represented by the school participation rate for the 16-18 age group, while labor market involvement was measured by the labor force participation rate. Multiple linear regression was estimated with EViews 13 after testing residual normality, multicollinearity, serial correlation, and heteroskedasticity. Inflation had a positive and statistically significant coefficient (β = 0.112683; p = 0.0458). Education had a negative and significant coefficient (β = -0.273439; p < 0.001), and labor force participation also had a negative and significant coefficient (β = -0.299388; p = 0.0234). The model was jointly significant (F = 28.09907; p < 0.001) and explained 81.06% of the adjusted variation in poverty. The findings indicate that poverty reduction requires coordinated price stabilization, stronger upper-secondary participation, and expansion of productive employment opportunities.
