Abstract

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome is a peripheral neuropathy in which there is increased pressure around the median nerve which causes various symptoms such as tingling, wrist pain, paresthesia, and a burning sensation in the hands. Various factors have been speculated to contribute to the occurrence of CTS, including hereditary neuropathy, trauma to the forearm, repetitive motion work on the wrist, inflammation of the tendons, metabolic and endocrine diseases, malignancy to degenerative diseases. To reduce pain when the patient is at home, physiotherapists provide independent exercises that can be done at home with modified myofascial stretching. Kinesio tapping is an adjunctive treatment method that is suggested to be effective in regulating normal tissue function and supporting wound healing mechanisms. It has been found to be effective in muscle problems for pain relief by reducing pressure on pain receptors and supporting and protecting muscle tissue. Kinesio tapping is also known to be effective in the conservative treatment of CTS either alone or in combination with other therapeutic agents. To determine the effect of exercise therapy and kinesio tapping given to CTS patients. This study uses a case study. measurement of pain using the Numeric Rating Scale (NRS), measurement of muscle strength using Manual Muscle Testing (MMT), Goniometer to measure the Range of Joint Motion (ROM), Evaluation of Functional Ability with the Buston Questionaire Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (BQCTS) is a measuring tool to measure functional ability in CTS. After 3 physiotherapy interventions, results were obtained which showed a decrease in pain. Silent pain from 1 to 0, tenderness from 5 to 2, and motion pain from 6 to 2. For muscle strength, there was an increase in the wrist flexor muscle group from 3+ to 4. For the range of motion of the joints, there was no significant increase due to the time of intervention very limited. As well as found an increase in functional activity and a decrease in the degree of pain. Exercise therapy and Kinesio Taping are effective for reducing pain, increasing muscle strength, and increasing range of motion resulting in increased functional ability.

Abstract

Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a disease with progressively increasing prevalence every year and often leads to complications when not properly managed. Control or success of treatment is influenced by adherence of patients to the treatment process. This study aimed to analyze relationship between medication adherence and fasting glucose levels among DM outpatients. A correlation study was conducted using a cross-sectional approach on a sample of 300 respondents selected by probability sampling technique from the entire population. The instrument used was the MMAS-8 Test (Morisky Scale Medication Adherence Scales-8) and examination of fasting sugar levels. Meanwhile, data analysis was conducted with the Spearman Rho test. The results showed that the highest treatment adherence was in the moderate category by 130 (43.3%) and a decrease in fasting sugar levels was observed among 230 (76.7%) respondents. A significant relationship was found between medication adherence and fasting glucose levels with a p-value = <0.001 and r: -0.597. Based on the results, there was a negative relationship between medication adherence and fasting blood sugar. The higher medication adherence, the better the fasting sugar levels in DM outpatients.

Abstract

Titik ekuilibrium bebas penyakit (Disease-free equilibrium) bersifat stabil asimtotik jika .

Using the Community-based rehabilitation (CBR) method, the aim to enhance independence and quality of life. Evaluation includes IADL for independence and WHOQoL Bref-100 for quality of life. Education on health, immobilization, and exercise was provided to patients, families, and caregivers. Therapists teached physical exercises, to be repeated 2-3 times daily by caregivers and family. The 1-month program, supervised by therapists, includes standing and walking for patients with lower extremity strength of 3/5 (measured by manual muscle testing). Rehabilitation involves crafting items like wallets and bags, stamps, and flowers from bottles. Results, patients with low function status (very dependent on other people) decreased by 64.3%, moderate function increased by 116.7% and independence increased by 111.1%. Abstract

Introduction: The incidence of anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) rupture is estimated to range from 30 to 78 per 100,000 people/year. After ACL reconstruction, 61% to 89% of athletes successfully return to sport, usually at 8 to 18 months after reconstruction, depending on the level of play. Surgical reconstruction of the ACL is often indicated to restore functional stability during athletic activity and prevent early degeneration of the knee. Case Presentation: A 17-year-old male patient with a diagnosis of post ACL reconstruction, and has entered phase 2 complained of knee pain when performing full flexion movements, especially when performing prostrate prayer movements and sitting tahiyat akhir. Management and Results: Patients attended 6 therapies, 1 therapy for 180 minutes for 2 weeks, with a therapy program in the form of SEBT (Star Exvursion Balance Test) exercises, dynamic bosu squats, single leg squats, bridging with gymball and step ups. Then the evaluation is carried out by measuring the degree of pain using NRS, measuring muscle strength with MMT, and also measuring Range of Motion using a Goniometer. Conclusion: Rehabilitation program after ACL reconstruction using balance and strengthening exercises including: SEBT (Star Excursion Balance Test), dynamic bosu squats, single leg squats, bridging with gymball and step ups can improve balance, increase muscle strength, and improve the functional abilities of patients after ACL reconstruction.

One of the physiotherapy treatments for dyspnea is breathing exercises using pursed lip breathing and diaphragmatic breathing techniques. This outreach activity aims to enable the elderly to know and apply breathing exercises. The series of activities include preparation, counseling and evaluation. The evaluation was carried out by comparing the results of the pre-test and post-test that had been carried out. It was found that there was an increase in the knowledge of the elderly regarding breathing exercises for dyspnea.
