Abstract

This study aims to determine the expectations of teachers to professional development programme in: 1) planning; 2) organizing; 3) the implementation; and 4) monitoring conducted in MI Miftahul Jannah and MI Al-Munawarroh city of Bandar Lampung. This study uses a phenomenological approach to qualitative descriptive research. The method chosen was purposive sampling, with interviews and documentation as data collection techniques. Results of this research were: 1) Expectations of teachers to plan has not met the expectations; 2) Expectations of teachers to the organization has not fully met the expectations; 3) Expectations of teachers to the execution has not met expectations; and 4) Expectations of teachers to supervisory teacher professional development program has not met expectations because the teachers are not evaluated directly, supervisors lesser role in the evaluation, and there has been no follow-up.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui harapan guru untuk program pengembangan profesional dalam: 1) perencanaan; 2) pengorganisasian; 3) pelaksanaan; dan 4) monitoring yang dilakukan di MI Miftahul Jannah dan MI Al-Munawarroh Kota Bandar Lampung. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan fenomenologis, deskriptif kualitatif. Metode yang dipilih adalah purposive sampling, dengan wawancara dan dokumentasi sebagai teknik pengumpulan data. Hasil penelitian ini adalah: 1) Harapan guru dalam rencana program belum memenuhi harapan; 2) Harapan guru untuk organisasi program belum sepenuhnya memenuhi harapan; 3) Harapan guru untuk eksekusi program belum memenuhi harapan; dan 4) Harapan guru untuk program pengembangan profesional guru pengawas belum memenuhi harapan karena para guru tidak dievaluasi secara langsung, supervisor peran lebih rendah dalam evaluasi, dan belum ada tindak lanjut.Kata kunci: ekspektasi guru, program pengembangan profesi, profesi guru, implementasi

Abstract

This study aimed to identify and analyzed teachers understanding the professional competence development from a class management perspective: planning, implementation, and evaluation of the class management in Public Elementary School 2 Pesawahan, Teluk Betung Selatan. This type of research was qualitative in nature. Data were collected using observation, interviews and documentation. The collected data were then compiled, given meaning, analyzed and described. Results of this study data are: 1) planning was limited to implementing capacity mastery of learning materials to guide students in a variety of learning activities, 2) implementation was carried out through official meetings, training, workshops and the use and development of instructional media and props, 3) evaluation was relevant, systematic, objective and accountable, 4) principles of the class management were preventive and corrective actions, 5) implementation would affect the ability of students in academic resulting in proud achievement, more qualified and professional teachers in learning, and improvement in the quality of education.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi dan menganalisis pemahaman guru tentang perkembangan profesional kompetensi dari perspektif manajemen kelas: perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi pengelolaan kelas di Sekolah Dasar Umum 2 Pesawahan, Teluk Betung Selatan. Jenis penelitian ini adalah kualitatif di alam. Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Data yang terkumpul kemudian disusun, artinya diberikan, dianalisis dan dijelaskan. Hasil data penelitian ini adalah: 1) perencanaan terbatas melaksanakan kapasitas penguasaan materi pembelajaran untuk membimbing siswa dalam berbagai kegiatan belajar, 2) pelaksanaan dilakukan melalui pertemuan resmi, pelatihan, lokakarya dan penggunaan dan pengembangan instruksional media dan alat peraga, 3) evaluasi sangat relevan, sistematis, obyektif dan akuntabel, 4) prinsip-prinsip pengelolaan kelas yang tindakan preventif dan korektif, 5) implementasi akan mempengaruhi kemampuan siswa di bidang akademik sehingga guru prestasi yang membanggakan, lebih berkualitas dan profesional dalam pembelajaran, dan peningkatan kualitas pendidikan.Kata kunci: kompetensi profesional, manajemen kelas, pengembangan

Abstract

This study aimed to describe: 1) planning of Islamic-based curriculum, 2) process of implementation of the curriculum, 3) learning evaluation, and 4) community participation in integrated Islamic Junior High School (SMP IT) Miftahul Jannah Bandar Lampung. This study used a qualitative research design, through intensive observation in normal circumstances (natural setting). Data were collected using interviews, observation and documentation. The collected data were then analyzed using inductive-conceptualism technique. The results of this study are: 1) the planning of the used curriculum integration, namely the national curriculum and Islamic-based curriculum, 2) the implementation of the curriculum was integration of subject matters with Islamic values, 3) the evaluation system consisted of authentic assessment, self-assessment, daily tests, midterm tests, semester tests, school exam, and national exam, and 4) community participation was in the forms of suggestions for improvement in the learning process in the school.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan: 1) perencanaan kurikulum berbasis Islam, 2) proses pelaksanaan kurikulum, 3) evaluasi pembelajaran, dan 4) partisipasi masyarakat dalam terpadu SMP Sekolah Tinggi Agama Islam (SMP IT) Miftahul Jannah Bandar Lampung. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain penelitian kualitatif, melalui pengamatan intensif dalam keadaan normal (pengaturan alam). Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Data yang terkumpul kemudian dianalisis menggunakan teknik induktif-konseptualisasi. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah: 1) perencanaan integrasi kurikulum yang digunakan, yaitu kurikulum nasional dan kurikulum berbasis Islam, 2) pelaksanaan kurikulum adalah integrasi materi dengan nilai-nilai Islam, 3) sistem evaluasi terdiri dari penilaian autentik, self-assessment, ulangan harian, ulangan tengah semester, tes semester, ujian sekolah, dan ujian nasional, dan 4) partisipasi masyarakat adalah dalam bentuk saran untuk perbaikan dalam proses pembelajaran di sekolah.Kata kunci: kurikulum, manajemen sekolah, sekolah islam terpadu

Abstract

This research aims to examine the transformation of IAI Tulangbawang students' Indonesian identity in the context of using English as a global language. In the era of globalization, English has become the main communication tool in the world of education, media and professionals which has the potential to influence students' understanding of their cultural identity. This research uses a qualitative approach with a phenomenological type of research to explore an in-depth understanding of students' experiences, views and perceptions regarding the influence of the use of English on Indonesian identity. This research found that although the use of English provides opportunities to access global information and increase academic competitiveness, there are concerns about losing ties to local culture and Indonesian values. Most students still feel that Indonesian and regional languages ​​are an integral part of their identity, even though they also actively use English in academic and social contexts. This identity transformation is not only influenced by openness to global culture, but also their efforts to maintain local cultural values, such as mutual cooperation, good manners and cultural diversity. The results of this research show that the influence of English in students' lives creates identity ambiguity, but through character education and cultural activities, students can maintain a balance between their Indonesian identity and their involvement in the global world. This research contributes to the understanding of the role of language in the formation of cultural identity and the challenges faced by the younger generation in maintaining their identity amidst globalization.

Abstract

Abstract This study examines the integration of scientific and moral values in Islamic education from an axiological perspective, with a particular emphasis on the role of educational management in fostering holistic learners. Utilizing a qualitative research approach and a literature review method, this article analyses classical and contemporary literature related to Islamic educational philosophy, educational management, and ethical-spiritual values in education. The findings reveal that Islamic educational institutions continue to struggle with balancing cognitive achievement and character development. Fragmented curricula, inadequate value-based teacher training, and the influence of secular paradigms are identified as key factors contributing to this issue. However, the study also highlights effective integrative practices such as tauhid-based character education, value-oriented pedagogical strategies, and community engagement in the educational process. Drawing upon the philosophical insights of Al-Attas and Al-Faruqi, the study underscores the importance of a unified Islamic epistemology that harmonizes revealed knowledge (naqli) and acquired knowledge (aqli) to develop Insan Kamil—an individual who is intellectually competent, morally upright, and socially responsible. The article recommends curriculum reform, enhanced teacher development, and value-based management as core strategies to build a comprehensive and transformative Islamic education system, offering a hopeful and inspiring vision for the future of Islamic education. These findings offer valuable insights for scholars, education practitioners, and policymakers aiming to design a more sustainable, value-driven Islamic educational management system. Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji integrasi nilai-nilai ilmiah dan nilai-nilai moral dalam pendidikan Islam dari perspektif aksiologis, dengan penekanan khusus pada peran manajemen pendidikan dalam membentuk peserta didik yang holistik. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan penelitian kualitatif dan metode studi pustaka.  Artikel ini menganalisis literatur klasik dan kontemporer yang berkaitan dengan filsafat pendidikan Islam, manajemen pendidikan, serta nilai-nilai etika dan spiritual dalam pembelajaran. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa institusi pendidikan Islam masih menghadapi tantangan dalam menyeimbangkan pencapaian kognitif dengan pembentukan karakter. Kurikulum yang terfragmentasi, minimnya pelatihan guru berbasis nilai, dan pengaruh paradigma sekuler menjadi faktor penyebab utama. Meski demikian, penelitian ini juga menemukan praktik-praktik integratif yang efektif, seperti pendidikan karakter berbasis tauhid, pendekatan pedagogis nilai-orientatif, serta pelibatan masyarakat dalam pendidikan. Dengan merujuk pada pemikiran Al-Attas dan Al-Faruqi, penelitian ini menekankan pentingnya epistemologi Islam yang menyatukan ilmu yang diwahyukan (naqli) dan ilmu yang diperoleh (aqli) sebagai dasar pengembangan insan kamil—individu yang cerdas secara intelektual, luhur secara moral, dan bertanggung jawab secara sosial. Artikel ini merekomendasikan reformasi kurikulum, penguatan pelatihan guru, serta manajemen berbasis nilai sebagai strategi utama dalam membangun sistem pendidikan Islam yang utuh dan transformatif. Temuan ini diharapkan memberikan kontribusi signifikan bagi para akademisi, praktisi pendidikan, dan pembuat kebijakan dalam merancang manajemen pendidikan Islam yang berbasis nilai secara lebih komprehensif dan berkelanjutan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji keterkaitan antara konsepsi ilmu dalam perspektif filsafat ilmu dengan pembentukan kompetensi profesional guru. Melalui pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode telaah literatur, studi ini menganalisis berbagai sumber teoretis dan empiris yang relevan, khususnya dalam konteks pendidikan dan pengembangan profesi guru. Fokus utama diarahkan pada bagaimana pemahaman mendalam tentang hakikat ilmu—termasuk ontologi, epistemologi, dan aksiologi—dapat memperkuat landasan berpikir guru dalam proses pengambilan keputusan pedagogis, refleksi kritis, dan inovasi pembelajaran. Hasil telaah menunjukkan bahwa konsepsi ilmu yang bersifat kritis dan reflektif berkontribusi signifikan terhadap pembentukan kompetensi guru, terutama dalam aspek berpikir ilmiah, etika profesi, dan responsivitas terhadap dinamika pendidikan. Dengan demikian, integrasi filsafat ilmu dalam program pendidikan dan pelatihan guru menjadi urgensi strategis guna menciptakan pendidik yang tidak hanya kompeten secara teknis, tetapi juga sadar akan dasar-dasar keilmuan yang melandasi praktiknya.

Abstract

Any improvement effort made without the support of quality teacher performance will not possibly work well to help enhance high-quality education. High teacher performance is influenced by many factors. Theoretically, one important factor is principal managerial competency. However, how this factor influences teacher performance is under-researched, particularly in Bandar Lampung schools. This study aimed at investigating the influence of principal managerial competence on teacher performance in public vocational high schools in Bandar Lampung. This study used a quantitative research design, using a questionnaire of which its validity and reliability were ensured before data collection. The samples of the research were 88 teachers from nine vocational high schools in Bandar Lampung City, Lampung Province, Indonesia. The data collected were analyzed using descriptive statistics and simple regression, with the help of SPSS version 24. Results showed that principal managerial competence positively and significantly influenced teacher performance in public vocational high schools in Bandar Lampung. This study recommends the whole stakeholders to pay more attention and to evaluate the principals’ performance.

Abstract

THE MULTIDIMENSIONAL LEADERSHIP OF MADRASAH LEADER   IN TEACHER’S   PERSPECTIVE:   The  quality   of the  madrasa  leadership has  contributed  greatly  to  the  success of education  in the  school. As the  leader  of the  organization/ educational  institution, the main role  of the madrasah leader  is as a manager  and an administrator. As an instructional  leader, the  main  role   of the  madrasah  leader is as an educator  and a supervisor.  This  paper  aims  to  explain  how a madrasah  leader performs his/her role in the leadership of madrasah in the   four dimension of leaderships and its implications for the effectiveness of  education   in  madrasah.  A  total   of  120  teachers from  16 madrasah (MTs and MA) with varied backgrounds were involved in this study. With the Cronbach Alpha of the research instrument0.917, empirically the research revealed that madrasah leader role as an administrator dominated  over the roles as a manager and supervisor which were relatively  similar. Meanwhile, the role as an educator seemed to be very weak. This indicates that madrasah leaders need to enhance their role  as instructional  leaders as this has direct  impacts  on the establishment  of conducive academic atmosphere   at   madrasah.  Ideally,   to   achieve   the   optimized outcomes of education in madrasah, these four dimensions should be run in a balanced manner.
