Abstract

The electrical topic is considered a material that is difficult to understand because electricity is a substance that is not seen but can be felt. The objectives of this study were 1.) to develop digital textbooks for basic electricity materials based on problem-based learning; 2.) to analyze the feasibility of digital textbook products for basic electricity materials based on problem-based learning. This research is development research using the 4D model, namely define, design, develop, disseminate. This study involved language, material, and media experts in validating research products. The research subjects were students of technical engineering vocational education in one of the public universities in Indonesia who took Basic Electrical and Electronics courses, namely 25 students. The data collection technique used interviews, document analysis, and questionnaires. The data analysis technique used descriptive statistical analysis. Based on the research results that have been done, it has resulted in several conclusions, namely; 1.) Development of digital textbooks on basic electricity materials based on problem-based learning is carried out by referring to the 4D model development steps, namely define, design, develop, and disseminate; 2.) The appropriateness of digital textbooks according to the media expert's assessment of getting a mean score of 3.61 is declared very good, the material expert's assessment is 3.52, which is declared very good, and the user response gets an assessment of 3.51, which is declared very good Theoretically developed digital textbooks are able to increase student interest and motivation to learn basic electrical materials in an easy way.

Abstract

This study aimed to know: 1.) Describe the development of augmented reality books in the differential system; and 2.) Analyze the feasibility level of the application on the augmented reality book differential system. This study uses research and development (R&D) with the waterfall development design model, which includes four stages: analysis, design, coding or implementation, and testing. This study's sample was 11th-grade vocational high school students majoring in automotive light vehicle engineering. Application testing uses black-box testing by testing functionality without testing the internal structure or function of the application. The data collection used in this study included three media experts, three material experts, and 30 user responses (students) with data analysis techniques using descriptive analysis. The results of this study are (1) augmented reality books and applications on the android platform as learning media on the differential system, and (2) feasibility analysis by media expert validation with an average value of 80%, material experts with an average value of 84% and user responses with an average value of 90 % with a total value of 85% with the 'very eligible' category to be used as a learning medium in the differential system of chassis and power transfer competencies. Research products can be used as an attractive alternative learning media by utilizing digital technology that can display 3D objects in detail on the competence of the differential system.

Abstract

Augmented Reality (AR) is a technology that combines two-dimensional and or three-dimensional virtual objects into a real environment and then projects these virtual objects in reality in real time. Through this AR technology, users can see virtual objects added to the real world with contextual information. In education, AR has been widely used to complement the standard curriculum. Text, graphics, video, and audio can be superimposed into the student's real-time environment. This article aims to examine how the application and impact of the use of AR in vocational education. The Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method is used to identify, study, evaluate, and interpret Augmented Reality in vocational education. Research data were identified using the SLR method with the help of the PRISMA 2020 form. Article collection was carried out on the Science Direct database. There were as many as 454 articles. After being selected using inclusion and exclusion criteria, the data used were 14 articles. The study results reveal that AR is applied in learning as an innovative learning medium, a new approach to learning to improve students' understanding of knowledge and skills and provide a concrete learning experience. The integration of AR in education has the impact of increasing students' understanding and learning experience, promoting positive attitudes, making the learning process fun and interesting, and learning efficiency

Abstract

This study aimed to develop and test the feasibility of a waste cooking oil-based biodiesel reactor prototype media used as a learning medium with a circulation system. The method in this research is Research and Development using the Waterfall model. The stages in the waterfall development model are (1) requirements definition including (needs analysis, analysis of used cooking oil characteristics, analysis of renewable energy, hardware requirements), (2) implementation and unit testing, (3) integration and system testing including: (testing the reactor, and testing the appropriateness of the media and materials), (5) operation and maintenance include: (testing the biodiesel reactor to students ). The research subjects were three lecturers as material expert validators and media experts and ten mechanical engineering vocational students as users to test the product's feasibility. The research results are as follows; development of biodiesel reactor media and results of feasibility research by media experts got an average score of 4.48 with the category "very feasible." Assessment by material experts got an average score of 4.5 with the category "very feasible," and ratings from users got an average score of 4.095 with the category " decent."

Abstract

Fishball MSMEs Ulfa’s face persistent challenges in raw-material selection, good manufacturing practices, and quality control. This community service program strengthens food safety and quality control in a Serang City MSME through: (1) CPPOB -IRTP/GMP mentoring aligned with the Indonesian Standard for fishball, (2) implementation of an infrared (IR/NIR)–based freshness sensor for rapid screening and a TVB-N colorimetric freshness label as an on-package alert, and (3) packaging and cold-chain improvements. Methods included baseline CPPOB assessment, training, SOP implementation, trials of the IR sensor/TVB-N indicator, and pre–post evaluation (knowledge scores, SOP compliance, and simple shelflife testing). Results showed an increase of 21 points in knowledge (58→79), CPPOB compliance rising from 61% to 88%, and chilled shelf life of cooked fishballs extended from 2 to 6 days under controlled conditions (0–4 °C). The program also facilitated P-IRT/SPP-IRT documentation readiness and label improvements. These findings indicate that combining CPPOB mentoring, IR freshness sensing/TVB-N indicators, and standards-based cold-chain practices can improve traceability, quality, and safety performance in MSMEs. Abstrak UMKM bakso ikan Ulfa memiliki tantangan konsisten pada seleksi bahan baku, penerapan praktik produksi yang baik, dan pengendalian mutu. Program pengabdian ini bertujuan memperkuat keamanan pangan dan kendali mutu pada UMKM mitra di Kota Serang melalui: (1) pendampingan CPPOB-IRTP/GMP yang diselaraskan dengan SNI bakso ikan, (2) implementasi sensor kesegaran berbasis inframerah (IR/NIR) untuk skrining cepat bahan baku serta indikator warna TVB-N sebagai on-package alert, dan (3) perbaikan pengemasan serta cold chain agar mutu terjaga. Metode mencakup asesmen awal (checklist CPPOBIRTP), pelatihan, implementasi SOP, uji adopsi sensor IR/indikator TVB-N, serta evaluasi pra–pasca (skor pengetahuan, kepatuhan SOP, dan uji ketahanan simpan sederhana). Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan 21 poin skor pengetahuan (dari 58→79), kenaikan kepatuhan CPPOB dari 61% menjadi 88%, serta perpanjangan masa simpan dingin bakso matang dari 2 menjadi 6 hari pada kondisi terkontrol (0–4 °C). Program juga memfasilitasi kesiapan dokumen P-IRT/SPP-IRT dan penyempurnaan label. Temuan inimengindikasikan bahwa kombinasi pendampingan CPPOB, sensor IR/indikator TVB-N, dan praktik cold chain berbasis standar dapat meningkatkan ketertelusuran mutu serta keamanan produk UMKM.

Abstract

This study aims to explore learning innovation skills in vocational teacher candidates in the Mechanical Engineering Vocational Education Program (PVTM) at Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University. A qualitative approach with a case study method was used in this research. Data were collected through observations and in-depth interviews, utilizing interview guides and assessment rubrics to ensure the objectivity of the analysis. The research sample was drawn from 30% of students previously categorized as having low skills based on earlier studies, with the condition that they had completed the School Field Introduction course (PLP). The results showed that this classification was not entirely accurate. Some students categorized as “low” actually demonstrated strong competencies in innovative skills such as creative thinking, collaboration, communication, and problem-solving. The findings suggest that PVTM students have potential that can be developed into adaptive vocational teachers who are capable of facing the challenges of 21st-century learning. Strengthening teaching strategies and holistic evaluations is crucial to optimizing their abilities.
