Abstract

Abstract

Cancer occurs due to disruption of the function of Deoxyribonucleic Acid (DNA) which can increase cell growth significantly to cell proliferation in cells. The purpose of this study was to provide information on effective sleep hygiene therapy on the sleep quality of cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy. The research method using the PRISMA database using Google Scholar, PubMed, ScienceDirect, ProQuest and Scopus data focuses on the last five years, from 2018 to 2023. Data is selected by referring to the "Mendeley and Rayyan" application independently to filter from screening, the results are selected by activating blind rayyan mode so that they can be selected together. The literature is an option to be able to identify sleep hygiene therapy trials given to cancer patients who experience sleep quality problems.  JBI is a critical assessment tool used to determine the quality of journals. The results of the article we included showed significant results and can be given to cancer patients who have poor sleep quality and are also beneficial for fatigue. Conclusions based on the results of the review of sleep hygiene interventions have a positive value on sleep quality and severity of cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy. Keywords: cancer, sleep hygiene, sleep quality, chemotherapy

Abstract

The implementation of patient-centred care (PCC) standards in hospital accreditation is anticipated to enhance patient satisfaction. This study focuses on Dr. Suyoto Kemhan Hospital, renowned for its comprehensive medical rehabilitation services, which underwent accreditation in 2018 and again in 2023. The research aims to analyze the impact of PCC application in accreditation standards on patient satisfaction levels before and after the accreditation process. Utilizing a cross-sectional analytical design, the study employed a questionnaire adapted from the Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform (Kemenpan RB) No. 14 of 2017, which provides guidelines for public service satisfaction surveys. The results of the T paired-test indicated a statistically significant difference in patient satisfaction scores before and after accreditation, with a mean difference of 4.059 points. The Confidence Interval was relatively narrow (3.82 - 4.29), and the p-value was less than 0.001, demonstrating a substantial improvement in satisfaction levels. This enhancement reflects the positive effects of implementing PCC during the accreditation process, significantly influencing patients' perceptions of the services they receive. Overall, the findings underscore the importance of PCC in fostering a more satisfying healthcare experience for patients.

Abstract

Introduction: Interprofessional education (IPE) is essential for equipping healthcare students with the competencies required for effective collaborative and patient-centered care. Traditional IPE methods, however, often lack interactivity and fail to simulate authentic clinical dynamics. Objective: This study aimed to design and evaluate the My Medicine E-Matching Card, a gamified digital platform intended to enhance IPE through interactive, case-based learning and foster collaboration among students of multiple health professions. Methods: A qualitative case study approach was employed involving 20 IPE lecturers from nursing, medicine, pharmacy, and dentistry programs at Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta. Data were collected through focus group discussions (FGDs) and analyzed using thematic analysis to guide the development of the application's features. Results: The analysis identified three core themes: the need for clear role delineation, interactive clinical case simulations, and mechanisms for real-time interdisciplinary collaboration. These themes were integrated into the app design. Lecturers noted improved student engagement, enhanced collaborative decision-making, and reduced hierarchical barriers. Key features of the application included customizable clinical scenarios, asynchronous learning access, and structured feedback tools. Conclusion: The My Medicine E-Matching Card demonstrates promise in advancing interprofessional learning by integrating gamification into IPE. By simulating real-life clinical encounters in a digital environment, the platform cultivates teamwork, communication, and clinical reasoning skills. Further longitudinal studies are warranted to assess its educational impact and scalability across institutions.

Abstract

The Patient-Centered Care (PCC) approach in health services is increasingly popular. However, its implementation is still not optimal, including in the Emergency Department (ED). The challenge is weak implementation and inconsistent understanding, requiring continuous improvement efforts to maintain its sustainability. This study aims to identify recommendations for improving the implementation of PCC in the ED. Qualitative research with a phenomenological approach was used in this study. Data collection through Focus Group Discussion (FGD) was conducted with 26 informants, and in-depth interviews with 11 informants selected through purposive sampling. Data analysis used Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA), which was processed using NVIVO 14. The validity and reliability of the research were achieved by applying trustworthiness. The main findings regarding recommendations for improvement identified five themes: providing human resources according to needs, improving communication between Healthcare Professionals (HCPs), improving service regulations, consistent monitoring and evaluation, and reducing security risks. An interesting aspect of this study is its focus on Patient-Centered Care (PCC) in the Emergency Department, a complex and underexplored setting. This research underlines the importance of integrating three aspects in implementing PCC, including what should be prepared for PCC, the implementation, and supporting aspects of PCC to ensure PCC effectiveness and its sustainability in the ED.

Abstract

Background: Pap smears are essential for the early detection and prevention of cervical cancer, yet the coverage of these screenings in Indonesia is still low, at approximately 7.3%. Health centers are available in nearly all sub-districts, with many areas having additional supporting centers. Health workers in these facilities have been trained on the significance of Pap smear. It is expected that with more active involvement from health workers in educating and assisting local communities, the coverage of Pap smears will improve. Objective: To assess how much Pap smear coverage can increase with effective support from health workers. Method: A descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted with 33 married women in Central Java between July and September 2024, using consecutive sampling. Results: The average age of participants was 43.06 years, and 60.6% (20/33) had never had a Pap smear. Following educational support from health workers, 75.8% (25/33) of participants gained a better understanding of the importance of Pap smear and underwent the screening through the health insurance system in Indonesia called Badan Penyelenggara Jaminan Sosial (BPJS) at a designated laboratory. Conclusion: Health worker support led to a significant increase in Pap smear coverage, reaching 75.8%.
