Abstract

Pineapple has a peel that contains bromelain enzyme which is useful as platelet antiagregation. This study was aimed to determine the effect of pineapple peel dried juice on bleeding and clotting time extention, and to know the most effective dose in prolonging bleeding time and blood clotting. This study includes the determination of plants, drying of pineapple peel, the identification of the chemical contents, and test of bleeding and clotting time. This study used 5 treatment groups. The group was divided into treatment groups with pineapple peel dried juice variation dose of 28 mg/200 g BW, 56 mg/200 g BW, and 112 mg/200 g BW, positive control group (acetosal 3.7 mg/200 g BW), and negative control group (distilled water). The identification results showed chemical constituents of bromelain enzyme compounds, flavonoids, and saponins. The test results showed that platelets antiagregation freeze drying product from pineapple peel dried juice which was administered orally could prolong the bleeding time and blood clotting on white male rats. Pineapple peel dried juice with a dose of 112 mg/200 g BW gave the best effect to the extension of bleeding and clotting time with an average increase in bleeding time of 150seconds and an increase in clotting time of 105 seconds.

Abstract

Background: Lean Hospital is needed in order to hospital can fulfill patient’s needs optimally, can give health service as much as possible to the patient. This research has a purpose for identifying medicine service, waste and the root cause of waste, so than we give reparation suggestion to medicine service that happens in Outpatient Pharmacy Installation of Regional Public Hospital. Objective: Respondent In this study, patients or their families and pharmacy Methods: This research is study case research with qualitative approach. The research stages are doing observation of service process’s flow which is made in value stream mapping, distributing questionnaires of patient’s value and waste, doing interview by 5 why method for knowing the root cause and waste critical. The proposed of improvements is obtained from Head of Hospital Pharmacy Installation. Results: The research result showed that the service medicine process of pharmacy installation has been lean. Waste critical that is obtained, is waste motion 21,1%. Conclusion: The root cause of waste motion is manually, there is a space that separates between rooms, Emergency Installation/ IGD’s service, Outpatient and Inpatient has not been done separately yet. Adding visual management, rearranging the layout of the room is a suggestion for improvements to eliminate waste.

Abstract

Naringenin is a flavanone from citrus fruit which has antioxidant activity which has low bioavailability in water. The way to increase the bioavailability of naringenin is to create a SNEDDS delivery system. Nanoemulsion preparations are considered to be comfortless to use due to low viscosity, dispersibility and stability. To solve this problem, SNEDDS is combined into a gel base known as nanoemulgel. The nanoemulgel formed is optimized using D-Optimal Mixture Design method. The aim of this study are determining the combination of HPMC K15M, carbopol 940 and propylene glycol in the optimal nanoemulgel naringenin formula. Naringenin is made into SNEDDS formulation, determined by the hydrogel base formula design: HPMC K15M, carbopol 940, and propylene glycol and obtained 16 formulas. The formed naringenin SNEDDS is dispersed in hydrogel and optimization of viscosity, dispersion, adhesion, cumulative percent of naringenin using franz diffusion cells and stability test are carried out. The data is analyzed on the D-Optimal Mixture Design method using Software Design Expert Version 12. The optimum proportions on a hydrogel base are HPMC K15M of 2%, carbopol 940 of 0.50%, and propylene glycol of 2.50% can have an effect on the critical parameters of viscosity of 3996 cp, dispersion of 5.80 cm, adhesion of 63.39 seconds, and the cumulative percent of naringenin penetration test of 26,54%.

Abstract

Dalam tanaman kelor mengandung senyawa metabolit sekunder aktif. Ekstrak kelor dapat menginduksi beberapa aspek yang mempengaruhi parameter antifertilitas, ekstrak kelor dilaporkan memiliki aktivitas antifertilitas pada organ reproduksi tikus betina dan tikus jantan. Metode penelitian adalah review literatur. Sampel adalah ekstrak tanaman kelor yang mempunyai kandungan kimia aktif, dapat berpengaruh terhadap aktivitas antifertilitas. Hasil penelitian dengan review literatur dari beberapa literatur yang dianalisis. Pada tanaman kelor menunjukkan beberapa senyawa kimia aktif seperti : Alkaloid dan flavonoid tanin, minyak atsiri kaempferol dan quercetin, dan quercetin fenolat dan flavonoid kaempferol, dan quercetin kaempferol-7-O-glukosida benzil isotiosianat.

Abstract

Accreditation is a process of evaluating a hospital by KARS to improve patient safety and evaluate the quality of a hospital. This research was conducted at the "X" Hospital Pharmacy Installation in Tomohon City. To find out the level of conformity of the seven Pharmaceutical Services and Drug Use standards against the 1st Edition of 2018 National Hospital Accreditation Standards and problem solving strategies using a priority scale with the matrix method. The research design is a non-experimental research. analyzed descriptively quantitative and qualitative. The research data were processed in tabular form and repaired with a priority scale of problems using the matrix method. The conformity level of Pharmaceutical Services and Drug Use in the "X" Hospital Pharmacy Installation has not fully met the National Hospital Accreditation Standards. Improvement strategy based on priority scale of problems using the matrix method: Pharmaceutical Services and Drug Use Point 5 Preparation and delivery, Point 4 Prescription and copying, Point 3 Storage, Point 7 Monitoring drug effects, Point 6 Drug Administration, Point 1 Organizing and Point 2 Selection and procurement. Pharmaceutical services in the Pharmacy Installation as a whole are good but there are several points that have not met the standards and must be improved.

Abstract

Bitter Gourd Fruit (Momordica charantia L). contains alkaloids, flavonoids, saponins, tannins and terpenoids. The compounds contained in bitter melon have anti-biofilm activity. Biofilm is a collection of microorganisms that stick to the surface of objects and form a matrix. This research aims to determine the potential of the active fraction of n-hexane, ethyl acetate and water in antibacterial and biofilm activity in the form of inhibiting biofilm formation, biofilm degradation, bacteria S. Aureus Bitter melon fruit was extracted using the maceration method with 96% ethanol solvent. The thick extract was then fractionated using n-hexane, ethyl acetate and water as solvents.

Abstract

Drug management is a drug management cycle which includes these stages as follows: selection, procurement, distribution and use. Ineffectiveness and inefficiency may negatively impact hospitals both medically and economically. This study aims to evaluate drug management in the selection, procurement, distribution and use of drugs at the Bahteramas Hospital, Southeast Sulawesi, with Hanlon method as strategic improvement. This study has done with a descriptive method with data collected retrospectively in 2022 and prospectively, both primary (management record) and secondary (interviews). Results of this study about drug management showed there were 4 indicators that do not comply with standards. Meanwhile, other 10 indicators could comply with the standards. The improvement strategy using the Hanlon method in drug management is to prioritize repairing problems sequentially starting from the average percentage of drug waiting time, suitability of the national formulary and hospital formulary, as well as the percentage of dead stock.

Abstract

The quality of service in the hospital is very important to support the quality of the hospital in order to strive to create the best service and treatment for every patient. The purpose of this study was to determine the overall level of outpatient satisfaction with the quality of service and complaint handling at the pharmaceutical installation of Kendari City Hospital. In this study, it is descriptive with qualitative and quantitative approaches. Then the data obtained is processed using gap analysis, custumer satisfaction Index (CSI), and Importance Performance Analysis (IPA) to identify the strengths and weaknesses of the service and determine opportunities to develop strategic planning. The results of the gap analysis show that each dimension of the servqual is at a negative index, which means that the patient is not satisfied with the services provided, namely tangibles -0.24, reliability -0.17, responsiveness -0.22, assurance -0.16, empathy -0.54. The results of the CSI analysis of the servqual dimensions and overall complaint handling have not reached 100% (excellent) but have received a value of 91.75% (excellent). The results of the IPA analysis show that quadrant A is a priority in improvement, namely: the tangibles dimension, namely the availability of drugs and the responsiveness dimension, namely the waiting time for drugs.

Abstract

Plant in Indonesia that has antibacterial activity is binahong (Anredera cordifolia (Ten.) Stennis). Binahong leaf contains flavonoid, saponins, tannins and terpenoids compounds. The purpose of the study are determining the potential of extracts and fractions (n-hexane, ethyl acetate and water) in inhibiting the formation of biofilms, biofilm degradation and the value of P. aeruginosa bacterial MBC and to determining the working location of the most active binahong leaf fraction. Binahong leaf is extracted by using maceration method with ethanol as solvent. Then the viscous extract is fractionated with n-hexane, ethyl acetate and water. Antibiofilm activity test is carried out using a microplate and absorbance readings using a microplate reader at a wavelength of 595 nm. The antibacterial activity test uses the dilution method. The IC50 value of the biofilm inhibition test on the extract, water fraction, ethyl acetate and n-hexane for P.aeruginosa bacteria was 0,94; 1,21; 1,03; 0,78. The EC50 value of the biofilm degradation test on the extract, n-hexane, ethyl acetat, water e for P. aeruginosa bacteria is 10,95; 16,06; 12,35; 5,92. The minimum bactericidal concentration value of binahong leaf water fraction for P. aeruginosa is 512 mg/ml.

Abstract

Daun matoa (Pometia pinnata J.R. & G. Forst) merupakan salah satu tanaman yang digunakan sebagai pengobatan di Indonesia. Tanaman matoa telah digunakan oleh masyarakat Asia (Papua Nugini, Malaysia dan Indonesia) sebagai salah satu obat tradisional dan empiris yang memiliki banyak kegunaan dalam pengobatan antihipertensi, antioksidan dan antibakteri. Salah satu kegunaannya adalah sebagai obat antidiabetes. Tujuan penelitan ini adalah untuk mengetahui efek antihiperglikemi dan pengaruh pemberian ekstrak etanol terhadap daun matoa dapat mempengaruhi kreatinin, dan menurunkan kadar glukosa darah yang telah diinduksi STZ-NA. serta hasil histopatologi ginjal. Subyek penelitian eksperimental dengan menggunakan 30 ekor tikus jantan wistar yang dikondisikan DM tipe 2 selama 24 hari. Tikus dibagi menjadi 6 kelompok yaitu kelompok I normal, kelompok II kontrol negatif STZ-NA 65 mg/kg BB dan 230 mg/kg BB, kelompok III kontrol positif glibenklamid 0,45 mg/kg BB, kelompok IV ekstrak etanol daun matoa 98 mg/kg BB, kelompok V ekstrak daun matoa 196 mg/kg BB, kelompok VI ektrak daun matoa 392 mg/kg BB. Semua kelompok diberikan induksi STZ-NA kecuali kelompok normal diberikan pakan standar. Pemberian ekstrak sediaan uji dilakukan selama 14 hari. Kesimpulan ekstrak daun matoa (Pometia pinnata J.R. & G. Forst) memiliki efek dalam menurunkan kadar glukosa darah dan kadar kreatinin terhadap fungsi ginjal tikus, serta mampu memperbaiki pada gambaran histopatologi ginjal tikus diabete nefropati. Kata kunci: Ekstrak etanol daun matoa, serum kreatinin, diabetes nefropati dan histopatologi ginjal. .
