Abstract

The family as an educational environment supports school and society education. This research is included in a qualitative approach and the library research category. This research aims to discover KH Raden Asnawi’s thoughts regarding appropriate methods in Islamic education in the family environment. Data was collected using documentation techniques, and data analysis used descriptive-analytic techniques. The analysis steps are data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The results of this research concluded that, according to KH. Raden Asnawi, there is one method that can be used in education in the family environment, namely the advice method. This method is used to instill mahmudah morals in the form of tawadhu and muhasabah and to distance them from madzmumah morals in the form of being arrogant.

Abstract

The study of school textbooks is interesting to examine comprehensively and in-depth. The issues with textbooks can be mapped into three crucial problems: First, issues related to the preparation and assessment phase. Second, issues related to the distribution of books, including accessibility and the purchasing power of textbooks. Third, problems related to the usage of books. This research focuses on developing a comprehensive assessment instrument for Arabic language textbooks. The researcher conducted research and development using the ADDIE model, which was developed from the instruments of the National Education Standards Agency (BSNP), the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL), and the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), as well as expert opinions. The results of this research and development show: First, the development of a comprehensive assessment instrument for Arabic language textbooks, consisting of four components: appearance, content, language, and presentation or teaching. Each component has indicators and sub-assessment items, totaling 50 assessment items. Second, the instrument was tested on Arabic language textbooks published by the Ministry of Religious Affairs, with a resulting score of 77.48, indicating they are suitable with major revisions needed.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan menggambarkan persepsi guru Pendidikan Anak Usia Dini (PAUD) terkait pentingnya pendidikan entrepreneurship dalam mendukung perkembangan karakter dan kemandirian anak. Dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif melalui pendekatan survei, data diperoleh dari angket terbuka yang disebarkan melalui Google Form kepada 30 guru PAUD di Kota Ponorogo. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa seluruh responden memiliki pemahaman yang baik mengenai pendidikan entrepreneurship dan menganggapnya sangat penting untuk diperkenalkan sejak dini. Para guru menilai bahwa pendidikan entrepreneurship tidak hanya berkaitan dengan aktivitas ekonomi, tetapi juga berkontribusi pada pembentukan karakter positif, seperti kreativitas, kemandirian, keberanian mengambil risiko, kemampuan komunikasi, serta keterampilan memecahkan masalah. Guru juga mengidentifikasi berbagai aktivitas konkret seperti market day, proyek kreatif sederhana, permainan peran, dan pembiasaan tanggung jawab harian sebagai metode yang efektif dalam menanamkan nilai-nilai kewirausahaan pada anak. Penelitian ini menekankan bahwa tingkat pemahaman dan kemampuan guru berperan besar dalam keberhasilan penerapan pembelajaran entrepreneurship di PAUD, sehingga peningkatan kapasitas melalui pelatihan, pendampingan, dan penguatan kurikulum sangat diperlukan.

Abstract

Perkembangan globalisasi dan digitalisasi membawa tantangan baru dalam studi Islam. Artikel ini membahas pentingnya pendekatan ilmu saintifik sebagai pelengkap metode tradisional dalam mengkaji ajaran Islam. Tujuannya untuk menunjukkan bagaimana pendekatan ini membantu membuat kajian Islam lebih objektif, relevan, dan mampu menjawab persoalan sosial dan teknologi masa kini. Metode yang dipakai adalah kajian pustaka dan analisis konsep dari berbagai sumber tentang studi Islam dan ilmu saintifik. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan ilmu saintifik memungkinkan studi Islam menggunakan data dan metode ilmiah seperti observasi dan analisis kritis, tanpa meninggalkan nilai-nilai wahyu dan tradisi klasik. Pendekatan ini juga membuka peluang kerja sama dengan disiplin ilmu lain, seperti sosiologi dan teknologi, sehingga kajian Islam menjadi lebih luas dan inklusif. Kesimpulannya, pendekatan ilmu saintifik sangat penting dan relevan untuk studi Islam di era globalisasi dan digitalisasi karena mampu menjembatani antara keimanan dan rasionalitas serta menjadikan kajian keislaman lebih responsif terhadap perkembangan zaman.

Abstract

Tujuan – Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji konsep, pengembangan, dan implikasi sumber daya fitrah manusia dalam pendidikan Islam. Mengingat tantangan modernitas dan fenomena sosial yang mengancam kelestarian fitrah manusia. Penelitian ini memperkuat relevansi pendidikan berbasis fitrah sebagai kerangka holistik dalam mengembangkan potensi peserta didik yang mampu menjalankan perannya sebagai hamba Allah dan khalifah di muka bumi. Desain/Metode – Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif melalui studi pustaka. Data dikumpulkan dengan teknik dokumentasi dari berbagai sumber meliputi artikel ilmiah, buku, perundang-undangan, dan website yang relevan. Pencarian sumber dilakukan menggunakan Scopus, Publish or Perish, dan Google Scholar. Analisis data mengikuti model Miles dan Huberman yang mencakup kondensasi data, penyajian data, serta penarikan dan verifikasi kesimpulan Temuan – Temuan penelitian hakikat sumber daya fitrah manusia meliputi; 1) Konsep yang mencakup spiritual/hidayat al-diniyyat, intelektual/hidayat al-aqliyyat, sosial/hidayat al-ghariziyat, seni, dan hidayat al-ghariziyat sebagai pembentukan karakter dalam pendidikan Islam. 2) Pengembangan melalui integrasi nilai fitrah ke dalam kurikulum, pembelajaran aktif yang berpusat pada peserta didik, refleksi dan introspeksi diri, metode pembelajaran kontekstual, serta kolaborasi antara lembaga pendidikan, orang tua, dan masyarakat. 3) Implikasi pendidikan berbasis fitrah mengintegrasikan aspek spiritual dan intelektual, pelaksanaan fungsi kekhalifahan dan penghambaan kepada Allah, transformasi sosial melalui nilai-nilai humanisasi, liberasi, dan transendensi, dan mampu mewujudkan suasana belajar aktif dan berbasis potensi.

Abstract

The global environmental crisis, in the form of waste, is particularly urgent in the city of Yogyakarta. This crisis stems from a weakening of ecological awareness and an anthropocentric view of society. This view places humans at the center of nature, leading to the exploitation of resources and severing spiritual ties with the environment. This study aims to explore how Islamic values shape and transform ecological awareness among the Muslim community in Yogyakarta, particularly in responding to the local waste crisis. The research uses a qualitative approach with a phenomenological type to explore the meaning of life experiences and spiritual awareness of the Muslim community in Wedomartani, Sleman, Yogyakarta. The research subjects consist of religious leaders and environmental activists who are active in religious value-based conservation activities. Data was collected through interviews, participatory observation, and documentation. The findings show that ecological awareness is formed through three dimensions: spiritual (viewing nature as verses of kauniyah), moral (internalization of the principles of an-nadhafatu minal iman and ihsan values), and social (sacred collective actions, such as community service that begins with prayer). This process of consciousness transformation goes through instrumental, reflective, and transcendental stages, where caring for the environment becomes an expression of worship (ubudiyah). Abstract

This study aims to analyze how the ḥifẓ al-dīn program is designed, implemented, and interpreted in realizing the motto of SMA Plus Al-Azhar Jember. The study addresses the need to understand ḥifẓ al-dīn not only as a normative concept within Maqāṣid al-Sharī‘ah, but also as a managerial framework for organizing school-based religious formation. Its key argument is that religious preservation becomes educationally meaningful when it is institutionalized through structured programs, daily habituation, and character-building activities. This study employed qualitative field research with a phenomenological orientation. Data were collected through two in-depth interview sessions with the principal on 24 April 2025 and 27 April 2025, supported by field observations of routine religious activities and documentation of school programs. The data were analyzed through reduction, display, and conclusion drawing, while credibility was strengthened through methodological triangulation and member checking. The findings show that the ḥifẓ al-dīn program is managed through two main orientations: strengthening students’ spirituality and forming Islamic character. Spiritual strengthening is reflected in Asmā’ al-Ḥusnā recitation, Qur’anic tadarus, Shalawat Nariyah, Duha prayer, congregational prayers, and Rohis activities. Islamic character formation is developed through leadership training, digital da‘wah, and Ta’lim Senin. These programs shape three main expressions in students’ daily lives: worship, adab, and achievement orientation. The study contributes to Islamic education scholarship by positioning ḥifẓ al-dīn as a practical framework for religious program management. However, because this study was limited to one school and one key informant, future research should involve broader participants and comparative school contexts.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the strengthening of Generation Z character education based on Al-Quranic values ​​in the Society 5.0 era, including the philosophical foundation, forms of internalization of values, and their relevance in facing the challenges of digital disruption and contemporary moral crises. The study uses a qualitative approach with a library research type through analysis of primary and secondary sources related to character education, Al-Quranic values, Generation Z, and Society 5.0. Data analysis techniques are carried out descriptively-analytical and interpretative to find the construction of character education from the perspective of Al-Quran. The results show that Al-Quran-based character education is not only oriented towards the formation of normative morals, but also emphasizes the transformation of spiritual awareness, self-control, and social responsibility. Core values ​​such as monotheism, trustworthiness, discipline, honesty, moderation, empathy, and responsibility are the foundation in building the character of Generation Z amidst the increasingly complex development of digital technology. Strengthening Qur'anic character is implemented through the integration of tazkiyatun nafs, morals, and adab with a pedagogical approach in the form of role models, Qur'anic stories (qashash), educational dialogue, habituation, and targhib and tarhib. In addition, the example of the Prophet Muhammad SAW is a model of character education practices that are relevant in forming an adaptive generation but still based on spiritual values ​​and social ethics. This study recommends strengthening Qur'an-based character education in an integrative manner in the educational environment, family, and society as an effort to form a Generation Z who is faithful, has integrity, and is civilized in the era of Society 5.0.

Abstract

Although the historical approach in Islamic studies has been addressed in a number of scholarly works, studies that integrate its conceptual, methodological, and implementative dimensions within a single analytical framework remain limited. This study aims to analyze the epistemological nature, urgency, operational stages, functions, strengths and limitations, and application of the historical approach in Islamic studies, with particular attention to contemporary challenges in Indonesia. This study used a qualitative library research method by relying on scholarly literature from the last decade as the source of review. The data were analyzed through conceptual review and critical synthesis of relevant literature to formulate the relationship between normativity, historicity, and operational methodology in Islamic studies. The results show that the historical approach functions not only reconstructively but also critically and transformatively in understanding Islamic teachings contextually. Through the stages of heuristics, verification, interpretation, and historiography conducted systematically, this approach is able to produce a more objective and nuanced understanding of religious texts and practices. This review also shows that the historical approach is important for avoiding literalist readings of the Qur’an, tracing the Islamization process of Nusantara, and interpreting local religious traditions such as kenduri. The novelty of this study lies in its integrative synthesis that bridges the normativity-historicity framework with operational methodology, thereby filling a gap in the literature that has tended to discuss these aspects separately. This study contributes to the development of methodological studies in Islamic studies and provides implications for academics and researchers in applying the historical approach critically, contextually, and systematically in understanding the dynamics of Islamic teachings and practices.
