Abstract

There is culturally plural happens in nowadays life context in many ethnicities, in the same space. This cultural diversity leads to different communication and attitude in social society.  The difference between the two cultures, the bigger between two cultures exist, the bigger challenge to adapt. Previous research stated that Indonesia is one Hofstede cultural group. But based on its location, Indonesia has various ethnic and historical sites. By seeing all of them, this paper has aimed to measure, to classify, and to do mapping on Indonesian cultural dimension characteristics. It has some of research steps by considering culture, management, and clustering of Indonesian cultural dimensions. The measurement using Hofstede was conducted to on 805 respondents, analyzed by using principal component analysis and been clustered by using principal component analysis and clustered using the agglomeration hierarchy clustering method. Respondents were coming from Indonesian native live in Sumatra, Java, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, Kupang and Ambon. The result showed that Indonesian culture could be categorized into 4 cluster groups; furthermore, it can be classified into 2 dimensions: intrinsic characteristics (1); environmental and future characteristics (2). The dimension of intrinsic characteristics consists of the power distance index (PDI), collectivism (COLL), and masculinity (MAS).   At the same time, the dimension of environmental and future characteristics consists of uncertainty avoidance (UAI) and long-term orientation (LTO). The result of this study is a cultural mapping in Indonesian society that a potentially contribute to developing cultural pattern in smart cities.

Abstract

Abstract Businesses contribute to the country's economy. Therefore, by law the state/government must provide employment opportunities to its citizens. Employment is a platform where people can find jobs to earn income for their daily needs. Companies need employees or workers to support them in all operational activities within the company, including the production process. The employment relationship is between the employer and the worker/employee. This research method uses normative legal research. Data collection is obtained from literature studies and supported by field research, namely. searching, researching and recording questions related to research topics and interpretations. The weak position of the employer can be seen from the many unilateral terminations of employment (PHK) against the employer because it is believed that the worker committed an offense, refused a work order, or for other reasons, or even likes or dislikes. Layoffs often cause fear, especially among employees. Of course this layoff decision will adversely affect the survival and future of the experienced employee. At the end of the employment relationship, the employer based on Law No. 13 Year 2003 is obliged to pay severance pay and/or long-term salary and benefits that should have been received from the employment relationship. The purpose of legal protection of labor is to ensure the continuity of a harmonious system of labor relations without pressure from the strong against the weak. Therefore, the contractor is obliged to implement the provisions of legal protection in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

Abstract

Bifacial Photovoltaic Thermal (B-PVT) technologies have seen significant advancements in sustainable energy production by converting solar energy into useful electric and thermal energies simultaneously. The present study explored the optimisation of these systems by first performing sensitivity analysis on design parameters to identify key variables affecting their performance efficiencies. The system design and performance were then studied simultaneously using a multi-objective optimisation algorithm NSGA-II. It was found that increasing packing factors from 0.4 to 0.8 leads to a 15% increase in both electrical and thermal efficiencies, while an asymmetry in channel depths could lead to an 8% increase in thermal efficiency.  Key design parameters such as transmissivity cover, mass flow rate, packing factors and channel depth ratios were found to have the most significant influence on overall system performance. Multi-objective optimisation of design variables results in a Pareto front describing trade-offs between solutions of conflicting objectives of performance. Optimisation with preferences towards overall efficiency over temperature differential produces solutions with a high overall efficiency yield of 70.79%, requiring specific values for mass flow rate (0.197 kg/s) and channel ratio (0.129), however at the expense of a reduced temperature differential of 5.12oC. Solutions with a balanced preference towards both objectives could produce a solution that is less biased in performance.

Abstract

Background: Students can be taught eco-friendly consuming habits through classroom learning activities with the help of teachers and other school-related activities. The study's focus is a case study completed at a vocational high school. We seek to understand the broad-reaching consequences that this teaching strategy might evoke by examining the potential implications of integrating environmentally responsible consumption practices within an educational framework. Through a thorough case study, we aim to shed light on how incorporating environmentally responsible consuming practices into schooling could support more general educational goals and encourage sustainable habits. Internalizing this through character education entails setting models and developing routine behaviors based on school policies and extracurricular activities in addition to integrated environmental education. This supports the long-term integration of these ideals into students' personalities. Method: This research uses a survey methodology and is explanatory. The SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Science) was used to analyze the data. 95 respondents make up the sample size for the sampling method, which uses proportionate random sampling. Result: According to the research's findings, integrating character education and general education are impacted by internalizing environmentally responsible consumption habits.

Abstract

This study investigates the influence of digital transformation, marketing strategies, and business size on competitive advantage and performance in Indonesian SMEs. With a sample of 100 SMEs, the research reveals that digital transformation alone does not directly impact competitive advantage or performance. However, when mediated by financial literacy, digital transformation becomes a significant factor affecting both competitive advantage and company performance. Marketing strategies directly influence competitive advantage but not firm performance. Business size has a direct impact on both competitive advantage and performance. Financial literacy plays a crucial moderating role in shaping the relationships between digital transformation, competitive advantage, and firm performance. The findings suggest potential avenues for future research, emphasizing the need for broader sample sizes and additional variables to enhance the understanding of these dynamics in similar contexts.
