Abstract

Background: Oyster mushrooms are famous for having many benefits, in addition to being used as a nutrient-filled food ingredient can also be trusted since a long time ago as a traditional medicine. Aim: This study aims to describe the inventory control carried out for baglog raw materials, analyze the optimal baglog raw material inventory costs using the JIT and EOQ methods, determine the efficiency of inventory costs and recommend more appropriate methods and purchasing quantities. Method: This study uses the JIT and EOQ methods for data analysis. Findings: The results showed that the control of baglog raw material inventory still uses conventional methods, the company determines the quantity of raw material purchases by doing a breakdown. The optimal baglog raw material inventory cost using the EOQ method is Rp 6.055.453, when using the JIT method, it is Rp 5.185.075. Inventory cost efficiency using the JIT method is 29%, when using the EOQ method, the inventory cost efficiency is 17%. The recommended method given is the JIT method because it is more efficient and has been adapted to the company's conditions.

Abstract

The success of creating sticky rice jenang is due to a good cooperative relationship between supply chain actors. MSME Jenang Teguh Raharjo faces problems in supply chain performance which then has an impact on the production process, so it is necessary to conduct an assessment of supply chain performance. This study aims to identify the state of supply chain management, analyze the supply chain performance of glutinous rice flour at MSME Jenang Teguh Raharjo using SCOR (Supply Chain Operations Reference) and develop supply chain strategy improvements. This study uses descriptive and quantitative data analysis, carried out at MSME Jenang Teguh Raharjo in February 2021. The respondent determination technique used is non-probability sampling technique and the respondent determination method used is purposive sampling. Data analysis technique with SCOR method. The results showed that there were four members of the glutinous rice flour supply chain. Activities that occur are cooperation to supply the needs of glutinous rice flour as raw material for jenang. Based on the results of the calculation, it can be analyzed that the supply chain performance is not optimal. The average reliability generated is 96% in the Excellent category, the average responsiveness of the three suppliers is in the Good category and the Agility average is 100% in the Excellent category. The recommended repair solution is that suppliers carry out safety stock, Re Order Point, product quality control, production control, make delivery schedules and make improvements to the preparation process.

Abstract

This is pilot study designed to ascertain college students' understanding of domestic food waste management using an online questioner. The descriptive results section of the report is used to describe the central tendency of the data collected for each variable. Meanwhile, the people who took part in the research were all part of a webinar on waste management that was led by people from universities and environmental groups. The findings indicated that students' knowledge of domestic food waste management remained diverse. Some of them continue to view waste management as a time-consuming and demanding activity.  Community understanding about waste management, especially food, should be given early and started at home. As a result, environmentally friendly activities must be regularly promoted and implemented at the school, university, government, and community levels in order to improve people's quality of life.

Abstract

The use of pesticides to eradicate plant pest organisms (OPT) faced by rice farmers in Kanor District is an effective solution to reduce the threat of crop failure which has the potential for losses. However, the use of pesticides without control and non-compliance with usage rules carries a risk of damaging rice fields. The behavior of rice farmers in using pesticides is confirmed to have low compliance, including the habit of mixing two or more different brands, as well as using higher doses. The behavior of pesticide purchasing decisions made by farmers in this research will be tested through a marketing mix consisting of product quality, price, place and promotions carried out by pesticide producers. This research is a quantitative research, taking research samples from rice farmers in Kanor District, which is a productive rice producing center in Bojonegoro Regency. Research data analysis uses descriptive statistics and structural equation modeling (SEM) analysis using the smartPLS application. The research results found several findings, including the behavior of farmers in using pesticides, 73.1 percent mixing various brands, 20.4 percent using higher doses. The most common reason farmers choose a brand of pesticide is based on function/benefits (25.8%), following other farmers who already use a similar brand (s5.8 percent, price of pesticide (17.2%). SEM test results show quality results product, place, and promotion do not have a direct influence on purchasing decisions, only price has a direct influence on pesticide purchasing decisions. In testing the relationship with brand image, product quality and promotion have a significant positive influence, while price and place have a significant negative influence. Further findings found that brand image succeeded in mediating price, place, promotion with pesticide purchasing decisions, but brand image failed to mediate product quality with purchasing decisions. Furthermore, brand image had a significant positive influence on pesticide purchasing decisions.

Abstract

Non-cognitive skills, such as personality traits, play a vital role in various facets of human life due to their association with individual decision-making. However, personality traits can vary significantly among individuals globally, particularly between males and females. Hence, the primary objective of this study is to analyze the disparities in personality traits between men and women and to investigate how non-cognitive skills influence well-being. The study utilizes nationally representative data from Indonesia, encompassing 17,560 men and 18,825 women. Employing distinct mean t-tests and linear regression estimations, we observe that men tend to exhibit higher levels of openness, conscientiousness, and agreeableness in their personalities compared to women. Conversely, women demonstrate a propensity for higher level of extraversion and neuroticism. Moreover, our analysis reveals that male well-being is positively correlated with extraversion, while female well-being is linked to openness and extraversion traits. These findings underscore the significance of considering personality attributes in crafting economic development policies. Presently, policymakers in emerging nations like Indonesia heavily prioritize cognitive skills such as technical training and technological innovation. This study suggests that incorporating residents' non-cognitive talents into policy-making could potentially lead to enhanced achievements and progress.

Abstract

Potato is one of the staple food for humans and the most popular agricultural crops that are widely cultivated in Indonesia. This horticultural commodity plays an important role as food, contributes to health and environmental aspects, and is a source of income for farmers. The potato variety most widely used by potato farmers is the Granola variety. The obstacles faced by potato farmers are limited capital and high production costs. Limited production factors for potato farmers and expensive production costs are considerations in maximizing farming profits. This research aims to analyze the income and feasibility of farming by potato farmers located in Wonokerso Village, Probolinggo Regency. The sample for this research consisted of 42 respondents who were farmers of the granola variety potato in Wonokerso Village, who were determined using a simple random sampling technique. The data obtained in this research was analyzed quantitatively in the form of production costs, revenues and income. The results of this research show that the average production of potato granola farming in Wonokerso Village is 9,289 kg/ha/planting season. The income from granola potato farming at the research location per planting season is IDR. 53,659,527. This farming business is worth pursuing because it provides benefits to farmers with R/C ratio and B/C ratio values of more than 1.
