Abstract

Stunting is a conditioning in which toddlers have less length or height compared to their age. The occurrence of stunting is influenced by many factors. Mothers height is a very important factor, because of the short chromosome carried by the mother. The incidence of stunting in toodlers who have short mothers (<150 cm) will be exacerbated if other factors are ignored. The aim of study is to identify a genetic relationship with stunting. This study uses a systematic review method. Systematic review is carried out by identifying national journals and international journals. Search for library sources in this article through the Google Scholar, Pub Med, Science Direct database for 2019-2023. From this study it is known that there is a relationship between genetics and stunting. However, stunting is more often caused by a complex interaction between genetic and environmental factors, including inadequate nutritional intake. According to Blum (1974) genetic factors affect the health status 5%. Although a child’s height is influenced by the the genetic factors of their parents, nutritional and environmental factors play an important role in preventing stunting. It is important for parents to apply the behaviour of providing good nutrition, a healthy environment, as well as proper care and stimulation to ensure that children can grow and develop optimally, to prevent stunting in toddlers.

Abstract

The nutritional status of workers significantly influences occupational health, with both undernutrition and overnutrition posing substantial global challenges. Among the employed population, poor dietary practices, food scarcity, and strenuous work circumstances contribute to anemia, obesity, and various other health complications. This systematic review aim is to aggregate data on employee nutritional status, identify effective workplace interventions, and examine the global implications of worker nutrition on public health and productivity. A comprehensive literature search was conducted by PubMed, ScienceDirect, and Google Scholar with PRISMA guidelines. Papers examining dietary trends, nutritional status, and health impacts among workers published from 2015 to 2024 were included. After screening and comprehensive evaluation, ten studies met the inclusion criteria. The findings reveal a dual burden of malnutrition among employees: a significant prevalence of anemia among women and manual laborers, alongside rising rates of overweight and obesity among sedentary and night shift workers. Food insecurity and substandard nutrition quality were widespread among low-income and migrant workers. Despite long-term design and sustainability challenges, worksite nutrition interventions and educational programs demonstrated potential in altering workers' health outcomes. Employee nutrition is essential for sustaining health, enhancing productivity, and reducing health inequities. Multisectoral measures, such as modifications to the work environment, nutritional education, and the provision of healthy office lunches, are recommended. The cultivation of a productive and healthy global workforce hinges on the prioritization of public health issues, particularly the imperative to address workers' nutrition

Abstract

Anemia, particularly iron deficiency anemia (IDA), is a major global health issue among women of reproductive age, including female hospital workers such as nurses, midwives, and other healthcare personnel. This study aims to review the literature on the prevalence and risk factors of anemia among female hospital workers. A systematic review design with a descriptive narrative synthesis approach was employed, following the PRISMA guidelines. Literature was retrieved from PubMed, Scopus, and Google Scholar using relevant keyword combinations. Out of 10,203 articles identified, six studies met the inclusion criteria. Findings revealed a high prevalence of anemia among female workers, especially those under 40 years of age, experiencing heavy menstruation, having poor dietary habits, and working night shifts. Anemia's impact includes fatigue, reduced productivity, and increased risk of work-related errors. Therefore, a comprehensive intervention strategy involving regular screening, nutritional education, and gender-responsive workplace policies is essential to improve women's occupational health in the healthcare sector.

Abstract

Abstract Anemia remains a significant public health concern in Timor-Leste, particularly among adolescents, primarily due to rapid developmental changes and inadequate nutrition. Its impact includes fatigue, diminished concentration, and lowered immune function. Promoting nutritional awareness among teenagers can lead to healthier eating habits, increased iron consumption, and better adherence to supplement regimens. Supplementing with iron and folic acid has proven effective in preventing iron deficiency and supporting proper growth. Enhancing education about nutrition is vital in mitigating anemia and fostering both academic performance and overall adolescent well-being.A systematic review was conducted in line with PRISMA guidelines, using databases such as PubMed, Google Scholar, and Science Direct to locate pertinent studies. The review focused on empirical investigations that aimed to improve adolescent anemia prevention, utilizing qualitative, quantitative, or mixed-method approaches. From an initial pool of 568 studies, 10 met the eligibility requirements and were included in the final synthesis. Key findings emphasized the critical role of nutrition education and the consistent use of iron supplements. The review also highlighted the need for future studies to concentrate on strategies that enhance long-term adherence.
