Abstract

Abstrak Berdasarkan analisis LKS, ditemukan bahwa tujuan pembelajaran tidak relevan dengan Kompetensi Dasar. LKS yang yang dipakai khususnya pada materi pewarisan sifat juga kurang menarik dan tidak ada tantangan bagi siswa untuk menemukan sendiri, berpikir sendiri, dan bertanya lebih lanjut tentang materi tersebut. Selain itu sajian materi pada LKS belum memberikan contoh-contoh yang nyata bagi siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan LKS biologi berorientasi pendekatan kontekstual pada materi pewarisan sifat untuk kelas IX SMP yang valid, praktis, dan efektif. Jenis peneitian ini adalah penelitian pengembangan. Perangkat pembelajaran ini dikembangkan dengan menggunakan four-D models tanpa tahapan disseminate. Data didapatkan dari hasil validasi dan uji coba perangkat yang dikembangkan. LKS yang telah didesain, divalidasi oleh empat orang pakar dan tiga orang praktisi kemudian di uji coba secara terbatas di kelas IX SMPN 2 Pasaman untuk mengetahui praktikalitas dan efektivitas perangkat yang dikembangkan. Hasil penelitian didapatkan bahwa LKS yang dikembangkan pada pembelajaran IPA biologi berorientasi pendekatan kontekstual pada materi pewarisan sifat untuk kelas IX dinyatakan sangat valid, praktis, dan cukup efektif. Kata Kunci: LKS, Pendekatan Kontekstual, Pewarisan Sifat. Abstract Based on analysis of the student worksheets, its found that the purpose of learning topic is not relevant with base competency yet. The student worksheet that are used, especially in the topic of inheritance are also no interesting and a challenge for students to find, to think, and ask by himself about the topics. Beside it, the examples of learning topic and the student worksheet is not give the real ones for student yet. This study aimed to result the student worksheets, form in contextual approach to biology-oriented on the topic of inheritance for the student at grade IX of junior high school are valid, practical, and effective. This is the development research. The research used a four-D models without disseminate phase. The data came from validation and testing device developed. The student worksheet that has been designed, validated by four experts and three practitioners, and then testing in limited in grade IX of SMPN 2 Pasaman to know the practicalities and effectiveness of instrument developed. The result show that the student worksheets has been developed for biology science oriented contextual approach on the subject of inheritance for IX grade are very valid, practical, and effectiveness. Abstract

Abstrak Proses pembelajaran merupakan suatu upaya untuk menyampaikan informasi sebagai materi ajar dari guru kepada siswa. Tapi kadang komunikasi tersebut mengalami gangguan, jadi guru harus mengorganisasikan materi ajar kepada satu bentuk bahan ajar. Bahan ajar tersebut haruslah memahami perbedaan kecepatan belajar masing-masing siswa. Bahan ajar tersebut adalah modul. Pembelajaran biologi membutuhkan visualisasi untuk meningkatkan pemahaman siswa. Pemahaman tersebut akan lebih bermanfaat jika siswa membangun sendiri konsep mereka. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk membuat modul yang akan membantu proses belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran biologi SMA, dengan menggunakan metode pengembangan IDI. Prosedurnya adalah mendefinisikan, mengembangkan dan mengevaluasi. Penelitian pengembangan ini menghasilkan modul bergambar disertai LKS berorientasi konstruktivistik pada materi sistem peredaran darah kelas XI IPA Sekolah Menengah Atas yang valid, praktis dan efektif. Kata kunci: Modul, gambar, konstruktivistik Abstract Learning is communication process to pass on information as material of study by teacher to student. But that communication process experiences interference, so teacher must to organize study material into one material teaches. Material teaches that is made must understands distinctive speed studies each student. That is module. Learning biology need to visualisation for over increase student grasp to tutorial material. That grasp will more wherewith if student build their own concept. This research’s goal is to made a module to help students learning process in biology high school, with IDI method. Procedure is define, develop and evaluate. This developmental research result pictorial module with LKS gets konstruktivistik's orientation on blood circulatory system material for XI IPA Senior High School that valid, practice and effective. Abstract

The effectiveness of animal physiology practical book based on guided inquiry model is the essential factor to achievement student understanding a about animal physiology concepts. The purpose of this study was to observe the effectiveness of animal physiology practical book based on guided inquiry model in Padang State University. The variables measured were affective, cognitive, psychomotor, and students? activities. The data of this pre-experimental research were analyzed using averaged, percentage and standardized with Institutional assessment criteria. The results showed that the mean values were: 90.56 for affective competency (Criteria A), 82 for knowledge (Criteria A), and 89.66 for skills (Criteria A). Meanwhile, the percentage of student activities was 90.74% with very active category. It can be concluded that the effectiveness of practical book based on guided inquiry model was very effective to optimized student competences.

Abstract

One of materials that creates self-proficiency in learning is module. There are many important things in module that can be used for developing materials appropiate with college students’ needs, one of them is research about reproduction physiology. This research is development research by implementing Plomp models. The research was conducted to know the practicallity of nuanced research result module for college students of Biology Department. The validation of the module is categorized valid for didactic, construction, and technical aspect. The practicality of nuanced research result for lecturers is categorized very practical and the practicality for college students is practical in three aspects: ease usage, useful, and time aspect.

Abstract

At alementary schools, textbooks are found to put emphasis only on what should be learned by the students rather than how should the materials be delivered to the students, in these books, students mostly read long explanations and the are rarely supported by picture which are believed to make the materials more understandable. As the result, the students are not able to be engaged in the learning process as they cannot comprehend the materials. This research is aimed to develop the valid, practical and effective and learning materials. This research used CTL to develop the learning materials in the form of 4D models which consisted of four stages that were define, design and disseminate. To define means analyzing the curriculum and the students’ needs. To design means designing the learning materials using CTL. To develop means validating the materials. After validating, the materials would be tried out to 30 students at the fifth grade of SDN 05 Kampung Pondok. There was not disseminating stage in this research. From the result of the research, it was proved that the learning materials in CTL were valid. The tryout has shown that the materials were practical to both teacher and the students. Based on the observations, it can be seen that the students were actively involved in the learning process and their grades were also improve significantly. In conclusions, learning materials built in CTL were valid (3,51%), practical (93,43%) and effective (88,58%).

Abstract

One of the reasons for low success in studies is the variation in the teaching methods and few teaching materials, especially ecosystem matter, thus producing poorly motivated students with low esteem to learn on their own depending on individual ability. The purpose of this research was to develop a Biology learning module containing case study on Ecosystem topics for the first year students of Senior High School which was valid, practical and effective This was a developmental research which used Plom model that consisted of three phases including 1) preliminary investigation phase, 2) planning and realization phase, and 3) try-out and evaluation phase. In the initial investigation phase, an interview and observation were done to identify the problems in learning. Further, analysis of curriculum, analysis of students and analysis of learning sources were conducted. In the planning and realization phase, the module was designed and it then was validated by experts (lecturers and teachers).  The practicability was measured by filling in the practicality questionnaire which was done by the teacher and the students. The effectiveness of the module developed was seen through observation and the students’ learning achievement. The students’ achievement in learning was seen through daily tests. The data gotten was analyzed descriptively. The research results showed that the developed module is valid from didactic, structural, and technical aspects. From the practicability stage, it was found out that the module is practical. The use of the module can make a student active in learning with a high percentage passing the school-set minimum grade (KKM), whereby 90% of students at SMAN 10, Tebo district scoring ≥ 78 with 93% of their counterparts at SMAN 8, Tebo district scoring ≥ 75. It can, therefore, be concluded that the developed Biology learning module containing case studies on Ecosystem topics for the First Year students of Senior High School had been valid, practical and effective to be used as the learning materials.

Abstract

The main goal of the study is the occurrence of behavioral changes into better of the students. It can be realized if teachers carry out effectively as educators, included organize the subject matters into teaching materials. One teaching material can be helpfully used to help students understand the materials is module because it can stimulates students to learn individually  at both school and home based on their own learning pace. Character education emphasis leads the students to know the importance of understanding the  character in life. Inquiry approach will help students improve their understanding of the. Based on the needs, the researcher developd a characterized module equipped with students’ worksheet by using inquiry approach for junior high school students grade IX at first semester. Type of this researh is development research. This module is developed by using model of developing IDI (Instructional Development Institute) consisting of three phases namely defining, developing, and evaluating. Data collection is done through validation and test of developed module to get the data practicality and effectivity. Modul planning of the designed module is validated by five (5) experts and practitioners and tested on limited basis at grade VIII students of SMPN 2 Tanjung Baru. The result of the research shows module in valid category. Based in the limited test, it is known that module is in practical category for both teachers and students. The result of students’ activity observation indicates that module is in very effective category. Students’ scores shows mastery of learning over minimum standard which means that module is in effective category. Researcher concludes that module equipped with students’ worksheet by using inquiry approach for junior high school students grade IX first semester is valid, practical, and effective.

Abstract

The material of organic system at biology lesson grade XI second semester requires the students to know about structures, functions, process and abnormalities of organic systems. These materials are attractive because it is related to students’ physiology that needs the appropriate media. One media that can be used is modules, but teachers have never designed and used it in learning process yet. To overcome the problem, using modul completed with pictures and worksheet is the solution offered which uses natural investigation approach at organic system material. Therefore, it is necesserily conducted a research which is intended to produce the valid, practical, and efective pictured modul completed with student worksheet by using natural investigation approach at organic system material for senior high school students grade XI of science.

Abstract

Based on the fact that many teachers still did not knew the multiple intelligences level of students. Whereas the teachers can be helped to decide the appropriate learning strategy and to form learning groups with knowing multiple intelligences level of students. This research head for knowing the relationship of multiple intelligences of students with the biology learning result of Senior High School students. This research is a descriptive research with correlation approach. The population of this research are grade X students of Senior High Schools in Padang. This research used proportionate stratified random sampling. The technique and instrument of data collection are questionnaires in order to know students multiple intelligences level and documentations for acquiring Senior High School students biology learning result. Hypothesis is tested by using Spearman-Rank correlation test. The result of this research showed that two intelligences have low correlation, those are linguistics intelligence and logical mathematical intelligence with correlation coefficient as big as 0,33 and 0,35. Six intelligences else have criteria with very low. As a whole multiple intelligences have low relation with biology learning result of Senior High School students. The correlation coefficient is as big as 0,30. So the biology learning result of Senior High School students tended to increase along with the increasing of multiple intelligences level. We can conclude that multiple intelligences level and biology learning result of Senior High School students in Padang have significantly positive relationship.

Abstract

The purpose of this study  was to determine how students conceptions of matter regulation system and know the causes of misconceptions and do not understand the students through an analysis of the learning process conducted by teacher. To answer the problem in this study, the type of study is a descriptive study with the object of research is the learning process and conceptions of students and the research subject were students in grade XI IPA 1, XI IPA 2, and XI IPA 3 SMA Adabiah 1 Padang. Based on the observations that have been done on the process of learning regulation system in SMA Adabiah 1 Padang was found that the process of learning has not yet followed the standard process according to Permendiknas RI No. 41 tahun 2007and found there are still many students who have misconceptions and doesn’t understand the concepts being studied on the regulation system. Misconceptions and doesn’t understand that occurs in students mainly due to teachers and students in the learning process, and the lack use of instructional media.  Overall, the number of students who understand the regulation system concept in class XI IPA 1 is 43,87% and the remaining approximately 59,78% were not aware of any such concept. In class XI IPA 2, the students who understand is 48,65%  and the rest not aware of concept is 51,35%. In class XI IPA 3, the students who understand is 40,70%  and the rest not aware of concept is 59,30%.
