Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mendapatkan jenis pupuk organik untuk meningkatkan produktivitas dan mutubenih tanaman kedelai (Glycine max L.). Penelitian dilaksanakan di Kebun Percobaan Leuwikopo, InstitutPertanian Bogor, Dramaga, Bogor pada bulan Desember 2017-April 2018. Jenis tanah Kebun PercobaanLeuwikopo yaitu latosol. Rancangan perlakuan yang digunakan adalah faktorial satu faktor dalam rancanganlingkungan kelompok lengkap teracak dengan empat ulangan. Faktor yang diamati adalah jenis pupuk yangterdiri atas enam taraf yaitu perlakuan P0 (tanpa pupuk anorganik dan pupuk organik), P1 (Pupukanorganik), P2 (Abu sekam bakar), P3 (Bio organik), P4 (Pupuk organik cair) dan P5 (Plant growthPromoting Rhizobacteria (PGPR)). Pengujian mutu benih hasil produksi dilaksanakan di LaboratoriumPengujian dan Penyimpanan Benih pada bulan April 2018. Pengujian tersebut terdiri atas pengujian dayaberkecambah, indeks vigor benih, potensi tumbuh maksimum, berat kering kecambah normal dan bobot 100butir benih. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa perlakuan pupuk organik tidak berpengaruh terhadapkomponen pertumbuhan vegetatif seperti tinggi tanaman, jumlah cabang per tanaman, dan jumlah daunterkecuali daya tumbuh dan jumlah bintil akar. Perlakuan pupuk memberikan pengaruh nyata terhadapproduksi kedelai dan bobot 100 butir benih tetapi tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap jumlah polong pertanaman, jumlah polong isi, bobot polong isi, bobot biji tanpa polong, jumlah butir per tanaman, jumlahcabang produktif, dan bobot akar. Perlakuan pupuk tidak memberikan pengaruh nyata pada komponenpengujian mutu benih yakni variabel daya berkecambah, indeks vigor, potensi tumbuh maksimum dan bobotkering kecambah normal. Penambahan pupuk organik yang menghasilkan produksi terbaik yaitu perlakuanPGPR dengan dosis 10 g kg-1 benih. Semua perlakuan pupuk organik tidak berpengaruh terhadap mutufisiologis benih.

Abstract

This study aimed to obtain genotypes of local jatropha has the potential to be developed through the characterization based on quantitative and qualitative characters. The experiment was conducted in August 2009-April 2010 took place at the experimental PT. Indocement, Citereup-Bogor. Materials used jatropha cuttings from 10 genotypes (Banten, Medan, Biak, IP-2P, Bengkulu, Sukabumi, Bali, Sulawesi, Bogor, and Lombok). The observed character is the character of quantitative and qualitative. The results showed 10 genotypes Jatropha tested has the color green of young stems and old stems green color gray. The color of shoots is green, and coloor of old leaf is dark green.The color of leaf bones is purple and green, leaf textureis coarse, and leaves bones clearly visible. Genotype that has hermaphrodite flowers are Banten, Biak, Bengkulu, and Sukabumi. The best genotype was Banten with leaf number 74, branch height 48 em, number of panicles 1 plant 12.2, the number of fruits I plant 110.5, wet seed weight I plant 288.7 g, and dry seed weight I plant 193.8 g. Variables wet seed weight I plant is a selection of characters that can be used to increase the yield of dry seed weight 1 plant. Another character that indirectly affect significantly positive effect on dry seed weight of stem diameter, leaf number, number of fruits per panicle, and number of fruit I plant. Selection on vegetative characters can not be used as selection criteria.

Abstract

One effort to improve of high-quality of maize seed were the development and application of methods for genetic quality testing, such as SSR marker. Another effort was used of rhizobacteria for increased the availability of nutrients, especially P in the soil. The aim of this study were: 1) Microsatellite markers specific to male and female parents of maize hybrid; 2) Seed genetic purity by using molecular marker; 3) Rhizobacteria that could increase the physiological quality of maize hybrid seed; and 4) Rhizobacteria that could increase the growth of plant and efficiency of fertilizer P. The result showed that: 1) From five markers tested, three markers namely phi96100, phi328175 and phi072 produced polymorphic bands and capable to distinguish parental lines of two maize hybrids. Microsatellite marker phi96100 was specific used for testing genetic purity of cv.Bima-4 and phi072 for cv.Bima-3. While phi328175 was specific markers to both hybrids maize. The test of cv. Bima-3 and Bima-4 indicated that genetic purity of both varieties were 97.5% and 80% respectivelly; 2) Isolates B28 and B46 could increase IV 19% and 22% respectively, and had a high speed of growth compared controls; 3). Isolates B46, B42, B13, P14, P31, AB2, AB3, AB11, ATS4, and ATS5 could increased of germination compared to control; 4) Treatment of rhizobacteri significantly affects on plant height 2, 4 and 6 week after planting (WAP); 5) P fertilizer dosage were not significantly influenced on the number of leaves at 2 and 4 WAP, but significant at 6 WAP. Isolate of B28, B42 and ATS4 were potential for increased of plant growth.

Abstract

Provision of jatropha (Jatropha curcas) seeds along with providing high yielding varieties, is needed to ensure high seed quality. This experiment aimed to observe the pattern of jatropha seed treatment, namely the effect of fruit maturity, fruit extraction methods, seed drying, seed packaging type, and storage duration of seed on the seeds quality. The experiment was conducted from June to November 2011. Jatropha plants used as sources of seeds were obtained from jatropha plantations PT Indocement Tunggal, Tbk, Citeureup, Bogor. Seed handling experiments was conducted at the Seed Technology Laboratory, IPB. The results showed that the level of fruit maturity did not significantly affect the moisture content of seeds, the seeds germination and speed of seedlings growth, but it was significantly affect the dry weight of seed, dry weight of normal seedling, and oil content. The fruit extraction affected the time of peeling, duration of seed sortage, amount of impurities and the extent of seed damage, but it was not significantly affect the seed germination. The seed drying did not significantly affect the seed germination. The length of storage that can retain up to 51% seed germination during 3 months storage was the seed that have been stored in earthen barrel.

Abstract

Jack bean potentially as a substitute of soybean. Increasing value of jack bean requirement of good quality of seeds. Availabelity of good quality seeds must be supported by teknology of production. Prunning and planting space are factors should be concidered. Field trial was carried out at Ciherang, Bogor. Using randomized block design, two kind of prunning and five level of planting space. Base on the research indicate that planting space did not influence to vegetatief growth and fisicaly also fisiologicaly seeds quality. Planting space influence to several parameter of yield.

Abstract

Business incubator in Indonesia has not developed yet as in developed countries. It is caused by a lack of support from the government and the lack of a model of the concept of business incubation as a reference. This study aimed to develop a mentoring model for food processing SMEs through the Business Incubator in higher education. Research was conducted at several Business Incubators belong to universities by interviewing managers and tenants of the business incubators that have focus on the food processing sector. Data were analyzed using Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) and SWOT. The results showed that the most effective incubation models for the food processing SMEs is a model of mentoring participatory. SMEs tenants should be involved in any decision-making process and are actively involved in discussions about their business problems and solutions to overcome their problems. Incubation of tenants is carried out for three years covering the stage of pre incubation, incubation and post-incubation. The main program of incubation for SMEs include technical and managerial training, simple accounting, preparation of business plan, facilitating access to capital and marketing.

Abstract

Businesses in food processing plays an important role in the national economy. Facing the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC), the performance of the food SMEs needs to be improved in order to compete in the ASEAN region. One of the institutions that play a role in nurturing the business SMEs is Business Incubators. This study aimed to assess the performance of University Business Incubators in nurturing the incubator tenants and to assess the effect of incubation program on the performance of Food SMEs tenants. Research was conducted at several Business Incubators belong to universities by interviewing managers and tenants of the Business Incubators that have focus on the food processing sector. Data were analyzed using balanced scorecard (BSC). The results showed that most of the University Business Incubators have sufficient performances (75) and only a small portion performs well (17) and excellent (8). Business Incubators in general have several limitations such as limitations in process, quality, and facility in incubation program, low efficiency and financial independence. Business Incubators have contributed in improving the business performance of the tenants by increasing the number of labor, the turnover, the market region, and the access to financial sources.

Abstract

The research to improve the growth, production, and seed quality of Jack Bean (Canavalia ensiformis L.) through pruning, which was carried out from May to October 2016 in Purwasari Village, Dramaga, Bogor Regency and continued by seed testing at the Seed Testing Laboratory, Bogor Agricultural University in December 2016. The research was designed in a randomized block design (RBD) with eight treatment of stem and branch pruning and one treatment without pruning as a control, i.e. without pruning of branches and stems (P1), pruning on the 10th stem nodes (P2 ), pruning on the 11th stem nodes (P3), pruning on the 5th branch nodes (P4), pruning on the five branch nodes and the 10th stem nodes (P5), pruning on the 5th branch nodes and stem nodes to -11 (P6), pruning on the 6th branch nodes (P7), pruning on the 6th branch nodes and 10th stem nodes (P8), and pruning on the 6th branch nodes and 11th stem nodes (P9). The results showed that pruning affected some of the results of the study, but was not able to increase the production of Jack Bean. Pruning treatment on the 5th branch nodes and 10th stem nodes (P5) produced the highest seed production (3.4 tons ha-1), the physical quality of the seeds produced was classified as moderate with a weight of 1000 seeds between 1273.3-1291.7 g. The physiological quality of the seed is moderate with maximum growth potential 84.0-90.7%, germination percentage 73.3-82.7%, germination speed 9.1-116.1% / etmal, germination uniformity 40.0-49 , 3% and vigor index of 14.0-20.0%. Abstract

ABSTRACTHybridization program was started in PKBT IPB Bogor in 2003, entangles of 12 parental cultivars, consisting of five type Smooth Cayenne cultivars and seven type Queen cultivars. The cross yielded 195 genotypes with various different character combinations. The result of cluster analysis based on morphological characters showed that there were 33 groups of hybrid at the degree of genetic similarity of 50%. The result of principal component analysis indicated that, between yield component characters and result most importantly, were fruit weight, fruit diameter and fruit length which were main supporting character of variance in hybrid result of the crosses. Descriptive results of fruit yield and quality characters showed three to five classes with the highest number of individuals around the mean value for each character. Fruit weight, crown weight, fruit length, fruit diameter, flesh thickness, core diameter, total soluble solid (TSS), total acid, vitamin C, pH, plant height, and peduncle length, were characters controlled by nuclear genes.Key words : hybridization, variability, Smooth Cayenne, Queen, genotype

Abstract

Model genetik ketahanan terhadap penyakit bulai pada jagung yang disebabkan oleh Peronosclerospora maydis telah diestimasi pada progeni yang berasal dari persilangan antara galur resisten Mr10 dan Nei9008, serta galur rentan CML161. Tujuh generasi dari tiap-tiap persilangan (tetua P1 dan P2, F1, F2, F3, BC1P1, dan BC1P2) telah ditanam di Kebun Percobaan Cikeumeuh-Bogor. Percobaan ditata mengikuti rancangan petak terbagi dengan dua ulangan. Materi genetik dievaluasi ketahanannya terhadap penyakit bulai dengan menggunakan teknik tanaman baris penyebar. Uji skala gabungan digunakan untuk menentukan model genetik yang sesuai. Uji-t pada level 5% dan 1% mengindikasikan bahwa komponen genetik aditif [d], dominan [h] dan interaksi aditif × aditif [i] berperan penting untuk karakter ketahanan terhadap penyakit bulai pada jagung. Nilai komponen genetik aditif dan dominan yang bertanda sama dengan interaksinya pada pasangan persilangan Mr10 × CML161 menunjukkan adanya interaksi gen yang bersifat komplementer epistasis, sedangkan pada pasangan persilangan Nei9008 × CML161, komponen genetik aditif dan dominan berlawanan tanda dengan interaksinya menunjukkan adanya interaksi gen yang bersifat duplikat epistasis. Nilai heritabilitas dalam arti luas tergolong tinggi, sedangkan heritabilitas dalam arti sempit tergolong sedang.
