Abstract

This study examines the symbolic meanings of colors in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by J.K. Rowling, utilizing archetypal criticism and Carl Jung's theory of archetypal symbols. Through a qualitative analysis, the research explores how color functions as a tool for conveying deep thematic elements, enhancing the narrative, and reflecting the emotional and psychological states of the characters. Colors such as red, gold, green, black, white, and blue are shown to symbolize various abstract concepts, including friendship, bravery, immortality, power, love, and death. For instance, red and gold are associated with Gryffindor House values like courage and friendship, while green symbolizes both dark power and the protective love of Harry’s mother. Black is linked to death and darkness, and white signifies purity and sacrifice. By investigating these symbolic associations, the study reveals how Rowling employs color as a narrative device to enrich the reader's understanding of the characters' journeys and the larger themes of good versus evil, sacrifice, and the pursuit of truth. This research highlights the significance of color symbolism as an integral part of the storytelling in the Harry Potter series, providing deeper insights into the novel's thematic layers and the psychological motivations of its characters.

Abstract

Describing the improvement of student learning outcomes using the Quantum Tecahing model in integrated thematic learning in grade IV elementary schools is the aim of this study. Integrated thematic learning is learning that uses themes in the learning process. This research method, using classroom action research methods with qualitative and quantitative approaches. Where this research was conducted on the fourth grade students of SDN 03 Pasaman, amounting to 20 people consisting of 12 male students and 8 female students. The results showed an increase in student learning outcomes in integrated thematic learning using the Quantum Tecahing model. From the average value of 73.85% in the first cycle to 87.95% in the second cycle.

Abstract

Posyandu Remaja merupakan kegiatan berbasis kesehatan yang diperuntukkan khusus untuk remaja, mengenai kesehatan fisik dan mental dengan tujuan membantu perkembangan remaja. Remaja merupakan masa peralihan dari anak-anak menuju dewasa. Masa remaja sering disebut masa terlabil, di mana seorang anak berusaha mencari jati dirinya, dan mereka akan melakukan penyesuaian dengan lawan jenis, perubahan pola perilaku, serta sosialisasi dengan lingkungan sekitar. Saat memasuki masa remaja, seseorang akan cenderung memisahkan diri dari keluarga. Maka tidak salah jika dikatakan bahwa masa remaja adalah masa rentan dengan berbagai permasalahan, mulai dari permasalahan dengan diri sendiri, keluarga, hingga permasalahan dengan perkembangan zaman. Program pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memberikan edukasi, penyuluhan dan pembinaan kepada remaja agar tidak terjerumus pada hal negatif yang dapat merugikan diri sendiri maupun orang lain di sekitarnya. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan terdiri atas perencanaan, pada tahap ini dilakukan koordinasi tim dengan mitra untuk penjadwalan pelaksanaan kegiatan. Selanjutnya tahap pelaksanaan, yang dilakukan melalui kegiatan ceramah, penayangan video dan diskusi untuk menguatkan motivasi dan semangat resiliensi remaja agar tidak terjerumus kepada hal-hal negative yang mengarah pada tindakan melukai diri. Berikutnya adalah tahap evaluasi dan konseling bagi remaja yang terdeteksi kedaduratan psikiatri. Dari 40 remaja didapatkan hasil sebesar 15% atau sebanyak 6 remaja yang membutuhkan dukungan psikologis lebih lanjut. Sebagai tindak lanjut tim pengabdian memfasilitasi layanan konseling yang dipandu langsung oleh psikolog

Abstract

Pekerja migran purna merupakan komunitas yang belum banyak tersentuh wawasan kewirausahaan dan ketrampilan berbisnis. Namun banyak diantara mereka yang bergelut di bidang kewirausahaan. Faktor yang menodrong keputusan mereka menjadi wirausahawan adalah memiliki kebebasan dalam bekerja, tidak dibatasi oleh waktu dan optimis untuk keberhasilan dirinya. Kondisi di lapangan ditemukan kendala yang dihadapi yaitu minimnya pengetahuan dalam memanfaatkan teknologi informasi dan komunikasi untuk bisnis, terutama kendala pemasaran pasca produksi. Transformasi perilaku ke produktif dan pemanfaatan teknologi digital merupakan rumusan masalah bagi tim pengabdian untuk mengadakan kegiatan pelatihan wirausaha bagi para pekerja migran purna. Teknologi digital saat ini telah menjadi bagian integral bagi seluruh lapisan masyarakat, terutama bagi pekerja migran purna. Program pemberdayaan ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan ketrampilan dan sukses menciptakan usaha-usaha baru agar mereka lebih mandiri di negeri sendiri, sebagai upaya resiliensi sosial dan meningkatkan kesejahteraan ekonomi keluarga. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan terdiri atas perencanaan, pada tahap ini dilakukan koordinasi tim dengan mitra perihal pelaksanaan kegiatan. Berikutnya tahap pelaksanaan, yang dilakukan melalui pelatihan untuk menguatkan motivasi dan semangat berwirausaha agar mampu menguasai teknik pemasaran secara digital sehingga mampu bersaing di pasar Nasional bahkan Internasional. Terakhir adalah tahap pendampingan dan evaluasi. Dari 25 pekerja migran purna didapatkan hasil sebesar 16% atau sebanyak 4 orang yang membutuhkan dukungan psikologis lebih lanjut. Sebagai tindak lanjut tim pengabdian memfasilitasi layanan konseling yang dipandu langsung oleh psikolog sekaligus membidangi masalah digital marketing.

Abstract

Objective:  Interpersonal communication is very important for nurse students.  to do by doing self-awareness beforehand so they can understand other people and not cause misunderstandings and hinder further interpersonal relationships. Before communicating, students should carry out self-awareness first so they can understand other people, not misunderstand and hinder further interpersonal relationships. The ability to self awareness determines the success of interpersonal communication because someone who is sensitive to himself and his emotions will have high sensitivity when communicating. This study aims to determine the relationship between students' ability to do self-awareness with interpersonal communication. Methods: This research is a descriptive correlation research with a cross sectional research design. Samples were taken by simple random sampling of 46 respondents in semester 4 students of Bachelor of Nursing Study Program. The analysis test used the chi square test and a significance level of 5%. Results: Respondents who were not good at self awareness were 20 respondents (43.5%). Respondents who were not good at interpersonal communication were the same as the number of respondents who were good at interpersonal communication, namely 23 respondents (50%) each. The results of the chi-square test obtained a p value of 0.015, which means that Ho was rejected. Conclusion:  There is a relationship between self awareness and interpersonal communication in undergraduate nursing students. It is hoped that the institution will develop a curriculum on communication because communication is very important for the success of nursing care in hospitals

Abstract

Anemia among pregnant women is a significant factor contributing to maternal and infant mortality, preterm birth, and stunting if not promptly addressed (Indonesian Health Profile, 2023). One preventive measure is meeting nutritional needs through the consumption of dates, which are rich in iron—approximately 13.7 mg per 100 grams (Satuhu, 2010). The role of midwives in managing anemia, as stated in Midwifery Care Standard No. 6, includes prevention, detection, treatment, and referral of anemia cases in pregnant women. An educational outreach on the benefits of dates was conducted at the Permata Bunda Clinic to increase pregnant women’s knowledge about improving hemoglobin (Hb) levels through date consumption. Among the 39 participants, the average pre-test score was 63.62, which increased to 77.08 in the post-test, showing an average gain of 20.28 points. The standard deviation also decreased from 23.77 to 12.41, indicating that participants’ knowledge became more consistent after the session. These findings demonstrate that the educational intervention on date consumption effectively enhanced the understanding of expectant mothers regarding the need to sustain adequate hemoglobin levels throughout the gestational period, contributing to the prevention of anemia, stunting, and obstetric complications.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the self-efficacy level of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers and identify factors that influence the implementation of deep learning-based learning at Muhammadiyah 1 High School, Ponorogo. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation studies of eight PAI teachers. Data analysis was conducted using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña which includes the stages of reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results show that the level of self-efficacy of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers is in the medium to high category with variations in three main dimensions : learning planning (high), implementation (medium-high), and challenge management (medium). The most dominant strengthening factors are mastery experience through successful experiences and social persuasion through collegial support, while inhibiting factors include administrative burden, limited practice models, and physiological fatigue due to workload. Overall, teacher self-efficacy acts as a catalyst for pedagogical transformation from conventional approaches to contextual, reflective, and character-based deep learning.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the integration of mathematics and science literacy in the context of digital technology-based education as an effort to answer the challenges of the 21st century. The method used is Systematic Literature Review (SLR) by examining 45 relevant national and international articles published between 2016–2025. The results of the study show that the use of digital technology such as virtual labs, augmented reality, learning management systems, and interactive media is able to improve students' conceptual understanding, numeracy literacy, and science literacy. The integration of STEAM and Project Based Learning approaches has proven to be effective in developing students' critical, creative, collaborative, and communication skills. In addition, teachers' digital literacy has an important role in the successful implementation of technology-based learning. However, the main challenges still arise in the aspect of infrastructure readiness, the gap in technology access between regions, and the uneven digital competence of educators. This research recommends strengthening teachers' digital competencies, developing an integrative mathematics-science-ICT curriculum, and collaboration between policy stakeholders to create an adaptive and globally competitive learning ecosystem.

Abstract

The increasingly frequent use of ChatGPT in higher education raises questions about its impact on how students critically read a range of academic texts. However, empirical evidence examining the relationship between the dependence and critical use of ChatGPT and college students' critical reading ability is limited. Three aspects were investigated in this study: students' dependence on ChatGPT, their critical use of ChatGPT, and how these relate to students' critical reading skills. This study aimed to examine university students, specifically 79 students at a public university in Indonesia. Students were given a critical reading test, which was in the form of an essay, and there was also a questionnaire to measure students' dependency and critical use of ChatGPT. The results were descriptive, showing that the students' level of ChatGPT dependency was moderate (mean = 3.10) and their level of critical use was quite good (mean = 3.87). For critical reading scores, results ranged from 31.25 to 92.19, with an average in the moderate category. The results of multiple linear regression show that neither critical use nor dependence on ChatGPT has a statistically significant relationship with students’ critical reading skills (β = 0.164, p = 0.151; β = −0.071, p = 0.530). Overall, these results indicate that students' engagement with ChatGPT has not had a clear or significant effect on their critical reading performance. Further research is needed to confirm these findings. These findings indicate that reliance on AI and critical use of ChatGPT alone may not be sufficient to influence students' critical reading abilities, suggesting that other factors may also play a role. Therefore, future research should involve a more diverse population and develop more specific, contextually relevant instruments, particularly those linking ChatGPT use to critical reading skills, while also considering other mediating variables.
