Abstract

Border areas have a strategic role in maintaining state sovereignty and national integrity, especially for Indonesia which has direct borders with various countries, one of which is the Democratic Republic of Timor Leste (RDTL). The State Defense Program is one of the government's efforts to strengthen national resilience in the border region by increasing awareness of community nationalism. However, the implementation of this program faces various challenges, such as limited infrastructure, low quality of human resources, and the influence of foreign cultures that can weaken the sense of nationalism of the local community. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the State Defense Program in strengthening the spirit of nationalism in the RI-RDTL border region by using a combination approach of the CIPPO model (Context, Input, Process, Product, Outcome) and the Kirkpatrick evaluation model. Through a qualitative research method with a Narrative Research approach, this study collected data through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis from various stakeholders, such as security forces and local communities. The results show that although the State Defense Program has an important role in building nationalism awareness, there are significant obstacles in its implementation, especially related to limited infrastructure and human resources. Therefore, a thorough evaluation and improvement of implementation strategies are needed so that this program can be more effective in strengthening national resilience in the RI-RDTL border region. The results of this research are expected to form the basis of policy recommendations that are more adaptive and sustainable

Abstract

This Research and Development (R&D) study, conducted using the ADDIE model, focused on theAnalysis Phase to address the main learning barrier in Dance Arts in Junior High Schools (SMP):the high difficulty of Phase D students in understanding the Essence of Movement (space, time, energy) and the abstract Laban Notation symbols. Data collected from 20 students and 2 teachers inSerang City indicated an extreme level of difficulty in abstract concepts (85.5% - 87.0%), inverselyproportional to the students' strong interest (92.5%) and readiness for high-tech devices (95.0%) fordigital learning. The goal was to validate the urgency and specify the functional requirements of thesolution. The results confirmed the urgent need for instructional media capable of bridging theabstract (Laban symbols) with the kinesthetic (3D motion). These findings led to the FunctionalSpecifications of Augmented Reality (AR) Media - Motion Literacy. The AR media must specificallyvisualize the interactive and real-time relationship between Laban symbols and 3D motion elements. This AR media is expected to concretize abstract concepts, support the "Create" competency in theIndependent Curriculum, and enable meaningful and enjoyable in-depth learning for 21st-centurylearners. The study concludes with a development plan for the next Design and Development phase.

Abstract

The advancement of digital technology has driven a paradigm shift in the field of education, including in the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum, which grants teachers the flexibility to design learning experiences independently and creatively. However, in practice, music education at the junior high school level still faces challenges, such as the limited availability of digital teaching materials that align with transformative pedagogical principles. This study aims to explore and compare the integration of digital technology and pedagogical approaches within the Merdeka Curriculum and the Deep Learning Approach, particularly in the context of developing digital music learning materials. A descriptive qualitative method was employed, using data collection techniques such as semi-structured interviews, classroom observations, and document analysis. The research subjects consisted of junior high school music teachers from two schools implementing different curricula. The findings indicate that teachers who adopted the Deep Learning Approach felt more supported in developing constructive, reflective, and contextual learning due to the presence of explicit guidance in the teaching materials. In contrast, teachers using the Merdeka Curriculum enjoyed greater flexibility but still struggled to design project-based learning and integrate technology due to the lack of systematic guidance. The study concludes that the Deep Learning Approach is more effective in addressing the challenges of integrating digital technology with deep pedagogical approaches. It can serve as a meaningful and applicable alternative for developing digital music teaching materials at the junior high school level.
