Abstract

The construction sector is essential to a country's economic growth and development. This is why the construction of building projects is one of the most pressing concerns for the Indonesian government. The industrial sector has become increasingly dynamic and responsive to the challenges of building projects due to technological advancements. One example is the Building Information Modelling (BIM) 5D, an emerging technology integrating project implementation time and costs into a 3D model. Therefore, this study aims to investigate the success factors of BIM 5D implementation on the time and cost performance of high-rise building construction projects at Campus-II UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya. This was achieved through a quantitative research method using a questionnaire completed by 62 respondents: the project manager, site manager, engineering head, and site engineer. Moreover, descriptive statistics were utilized to examine the frequency distribution of concentration measures and data distribution on sample characteristics and variables. The findings showed that the factors of tender document, human resources, BIM software, planning process and production process simultaneously positively affected the construction project's cost and time performance.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the level of BIM application on project performance (cost, quality, time). Building Information Modeling (BIM) is a collaborative approach in construction project management that uses digital information models to integrate all aspects of a project, from planning to execution. The research method carried out in this study is using quantitative methods by observation using questionnaires. The results of the analysis show that the factors that influence the application of BIM have a significant influence on the level of BIM application in Design and Build projects. In addition, the level of BIM implementation also positively impacts overall project performance, with increased time efficiency, reduced costs, and improved quality of project results. This research provides a better understanding of the importance of implementing Building Information Modeling (BIM) in Design and Build projects, as well as identifying factors that can effectively improve the level of project implementation and performance. Thus, this research is expected to be a guideline for stakeholders in the construction industry to optimize the benefits of using BIM in future projects.

Abstract

Abstract In 2022, Indonesia was home to 24,236 construction companies, with contractors dominating the sector, comprising 21,786 firms or 89.86% (Badan Pusat Statistik, 2022), The large number of contracting companies has led to intense competition. Several factors enable contractors to compete, including owner trust, owner satisfaction, and pricing offers. This study aimed to analyze the impact of trust and satisfaction on contractor competitiveness, with pricing offers serving as an intervening variable. In the competitive Indonesian construction industry, understanding the factors that affect contractor competitiveness is crucial as it enhances the effectiveness of competitive strategies. This research employed a quantitative method with a survey approach. Data were collected through questionnaires from project owners, and path analysis was utilized to test the relationships between the research variables with the aid of SMART-PLS data processing tools. The findings indicate that trust affects competitiveness through pricing offers as an intervening variable, whereas satisfaction directly affects competitiveness without the mediation of pricing offers.
