Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model oriented towards fun learning with the One Stay Another Stray (OSAS) technique on students' communication skills in the reproductive system material. This research was a pre-experimental study with a quantitative approach. The sample was class XI.F1 students of SMA Negeri 1 Kapur IX in the 2024/2025 academic year, selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using essay tests on communication skills administered through pretest and posttest. The results showed that the average posttest score was higher than the pretest score, increasing from 38.79 to 84.39. Normality and homogeneity tests indicated that the data were normally distributed and homogeneous. The paired sample t-test revealed a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, indicating a significant effect of the PBL model with OSAS on students’ communication skills. These findings suggest that implementing PBL combined with a fun learning approach and OSAS technique effectively enhances students’ communication abilities.

Abstract

The increase in cardiovascular disease cases in productive age is related to the low awareness of adolescents in maintaining health. Learning in schools has the potential to instill an understanding of preventive values, but based on the findings of learning media that are generally utilized, it has not optimally contained these values. The purpose of this study was to develop an integrated booklet of cardiovascular health preventive values for Phase F high school students that is valid and practical. This type of research is Research and Development (R&D) with reference to the initial three stages in the 4-D development model. The subjects involved in this study consisted of two lecturers of Biology FMIPA UNP, two Biology teachers, and 31 students of SMAN 1 Batusangkar. The object of the research is a booklet integrated with preventive value of cardiovascular health. The main data in the study were obtained directly through interview sheets, needs analysis questionnaires, knowledge questionnaires, validity questionnaires, and practicality questionnaires. The data were analyzed using a quantitative descriptive approach. The results of data analysis showed a validity percentage of 91.78% (very valid) and a practicality percentage of 95.31% (very practical) by teachers and 90.31% (very practical) by students.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the need for developing an augmented reality-assisted booklet on viruses for high school students with diverse learning styles. The methods used are descriptive qualitative and descriptive quantitative. Data were collected through interviews with teachers, distributing learning style identification questionnaires, and analyzing student needs. The results showed that 84.8% of students experienced difficulties in understanding the virus material. These difficulties were caused by the abstract and complex nature of the material (38.1%) and the difficulty in relating the material to everyday life (29.5%). In addition, students wanted learning materials that were interesting and efficient (60%), utilized technology in learning (43.8%), and were able to support various learning styles. The results of this study are very necessary and serve as the basis for developing an augmented reality-assisted booklet on viruses for high school students with diverse learning styles.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the need for e-module development using the Universal Design for Learning (UDL) approach on the human excretory system material for inclusive high school students. The type of research used is descriptive quantitative. Data collection techniques were carried out by interviewing Biology teachers, administering a learning style identification questionnaire, and administering a questionnaire for analyzing the needs of teaching materials development. The research subjects consisted of biology teachers and inclusive students of grade XI. Based on observations and questionnaires at SMAN 1 Sungayang, it was found that inclusive students (regular students and students with special needs) face various obstacles in learning biology, especially for physically disabled students. These obstacles include limited adaptive teaching materials, the dominance of textbooks, and diverse learning styles that have not been facilitated. The results of the interviews showed that inclusive students need flexible teaching materials and support independent learning. Based on the learning style identification questionnaire, students have diverse learning styles. Most have visual learning styles (14%), auditory (9%), kinesthetic (2%), and combined (75%). The results of the needs analysis show that (87%) students experienced difficulties in learning Biology, including choosing material on the human excretory system, namely (31%). A total of 69% of students stated they had never used an e-module with a UDL approach. However, 100% of students agreed with the development of a UDL-based e-module. The analysis indicates that research is needed on the development of a Universal Design for Learning (UDL)-based e-module that can present material flexibly, visually, interactively, and inclusively.

Abstract

This study aims to conduct a preliminary investigation on the development of a spice plant booklet used in traditional Pariaman cuisine as a supplementary learning resource for Biology in Phase E. Data were collected through initial observations regarding the potential use of the booklet in the learning process. The study was conducted to assess the relevance of the information in the booklet to Biology topics, particularly biodiversity and the benefits of spice plants. The results, based on a survey of students, indicated that 88.6% of the learners primarily use textbooks as learning sources, showing a lack of variation in learning media. This highlights the need for media that can facilitate students' understanding of biodiversity. Additionally, 90.9% of students strongly agreed with the development of a spice plant booklet containing local potential. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the development of a spice plant booklet for traditional Pariaman cuisine is necessary as a supplementary tool for Biology learning in Phase E.

Abstract

Biology learning in high school still faces challenges in achieving optimal learning outcomes, especially in complex materials such as the circulatory system. This study aims to analyze the effect of implementing the Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) cooperative learning model equipped with Quizizz on student learning outcomes in circulatory system material. The research method used was Classroom Action Research (CAR) using Kurt Lewin's model with four stages: planning, action, observation, and reflection. The research was conducted at SMAN 2 Batusangkar in November 2024 with 34 students of class XI.F3 as research subjects. Data analysis techniques used descriptive quantitative analysis to measure the improvement of learning outcomes from pre-cycle to cycle II. The results showed significant improvement in cognitive aspects with average scores increasing from 61.6 (pre-cycle) to 74.7 (cycle I) and 88 (cycle II), and learning completeness increased from 14.71% to 97.06%. The attitude aspect also improved from 35.1% (pre-cycle) to 86.4% (cycle II). The combination of CIRC model with Quizizz platform proved effective in creating active, collaborative, and meaningful learning in improving students' understanding of biology concepts and positive attitudes.

Abstract

Perkembangan Ilmu Pengetahuan dan Teknologi (IPTEK) membawa banyak perubahan pada media pembelajaran, yang mana pada saat ini media pembelajaran dapat disajikan dalam bentuk media digital interaktif, satu diantaranya yaitu e-booklet. Berdasarkan observasi diketahui bahwa guru dan peserta didik belum pernah menggunakan e-booklet serta peserta didik masih kesulitan dalam memahami materi Keanekaragaman Hayati. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan e-booklet interaktif bermuatan Profil Pelajar Pancasila pada materi Keanekaragaman Hayati untuk peserta didik fase E SMA yang valid dan praktis. Jenis penelitian adalah penelitian pengemabangan, menggunakan model pengembangan ADDIE yang terdiri dari tahap Analizing (menganalisis), Designing (merancang), Developing (mengembangkan), Implementing (mengimplementasikan), dan Evaluating (mengevaluasi). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan diperoleh hasil validitas e-booklet memiliki nilai rata-rata 90,1% dengan kriteria sangat valid. Hasil praktikalitas e-booklet yang dikembangkan memiliki nilai rata-rata 98,80% oleh guru dan 90,58% oleh peserta didik dengan kriteria sangat praktis. Berdasarkan penelitian tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa telah dihasilkan e-booklet interaktif bermuatan Profil Pelajar Pancasila pada materi keanekaragaman hayati untuk peserta didik fase E SMA memiliki kriteria yang sangat valid dan sangat praktis.

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan (R&D) bertujuan untuk menghasilkan booklet terintegrasi nilai-nilai islam sebagai suplemen bahan ajar biologi tentang materi invertebrata di SMA yang valid dan praktis. Penelitian ini menggunakan model pengembangan 4D (Four D Models) yang terdiri dari pendefinisian (define), perancangan (design), pengembangan (develop), dan penyebaran (disseminate). Subjek penelitian adalah dua orang dosen Biologi FMIPA UNP, satu orang guru biologi, dan 25 orang peserta didik Kelas X IPA SMAN 1 Batipuh. Berdasarkan hasil analisis uji validator yang telah dilakukan bahwa booklet yang dikembangkan memiliki rata-rata nilai 89,38 % (valid) oleh validator. Ditinjau dari dari aspek praktikalitas, booklet yang dikembangkan memiliki rata-rata nilai 97,91% (sangat praktis) oleh guru sedangkan berdasarkan penilaian peserta didik diperoleh nilai rata-rata 86,06%. Dari hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa telah dihasilkan booklet terintegrasi nilai-nilai islam sebagai suplemen bahan ajar biologi tentang invertebrata di SMA yang valid dan sangat praktis.

Abstract

Penggunaan bahan ajar berdampak terhadap hasil belajar peserta didik. Hasil observasi di SMA N 2 Kota Solok dalam proses belajar guru cenderung menggunakan power point dan LKPD yang berisi pertanyaan secara umum, belum mengajak peserta didik menganalisis dan mengantuk selama pembelajaran. Hal ini juga berakibat hasil belajar siswa masih rendah dibandingkan dengan standar yang ditetapkan. Upaya yang dapat dilakukan ialah mengembangkan LKPD yang mengajak peserta didik menemukan konsep pembelajaran secara mandiri. Penelitian ini bertujuan menghasilkan LKPD Discovery Learning berbantuan komik yang valid dan praktis. Penelitian ini termasuk dalam jenis penelitian pengembangan (Research and Development) dengan model 4D yang dibatasi hanya sampai tahap develop. Teknis analisis data penelitian meliputi analisis angket observasi, analisis uji validasi, dan analisis uji praktikalitas. Hasil penelitian ini memperoleh nilai validitas 85,66% dengan kategori sangat valid. Hasil uji praktikalitas guru 92,65% dan peserta didik 91,7% dengan kategori sangat baik. Maka LKPD ini layak dijadikan sebagai bahan ajar.

Abstract

Bahan ajar memegang peranan yang penting dalam proses pembelajaran. Keberhasilan pembelajaran sangat ditentukan oleh dua komponen utama yaitu metode mengajar dan bahan ajar. Salah satu bentuk bahan ajar adalah buku elektronik atau lebih dikenal dengan e-booklet. Penggunaan e-booklet diharapkan membantu peserta didik dalam memahami konsep-konsep biologi serta menambah minat peserta didik dalam mempelajari biologi terutama materi bioteknologi. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kuantitatif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui analisis kebutuhan e-booklet materi bioteknologi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sumber belajar yang dimiliki peserta didik hanya buku pegangan dari perpustakaan sekolah serta materi bioteknologi menjadi salah satu materi yang sulit dipahami peserta didik. Hal ini sesuai dengan hasil observasi bahwa 57,89% peserta didik menyatakan materi bioteknologi adalah salah satu materi yang sulit dipahami oleh peserta didik dari sekian materi di Fase E. Sebanyak 82,76% peserta didik setuju dengan pengembangan e-booklet sebagai bahan ajar pendamping pembelajaran.
