Abstract

AbstractSince The Joy Luck Club mainly focuses on Chinese culture, it is acknowledged by people around the world that Chinese culture is rich with the values and history which influences every slide of world history. Although Chinese people are recently residing far away from mainland China, the cultural values they have learned before it will be remained within themselves. To uphold the cultural values and traditions within a Chinese-descendent family, the role of mother is needed. However, since most of the Chinese-descendent families live in multicultural neighborhood with the assimilated cultures—like Indonesia—it is unknown whether the Chinese cultural values and traditions are being preserved or not. This study is focused on the way Chinese-descendent mothers teach the Chinese culture and the preserved traditions of Chinese culture within the family. The mothers from The Joy Luck Club represent the role of Chinese-descendent mother in teaching the children the cultural values. These figures are reflected through the mothers in the two cities of Indonesia, Tarakan and Samarinda, as the representation. There are similarities and differences from the mothers from the novel and the two cities in Indonesia in nurturing the children with their cultural values. It comes from the way each mother teaches their cultural values, especially in teaching integrity and filial piety to the children with the mothers’ own method. Several Chinese cultures and traditions are mentioned and still preserved by the family, both in the novel and inside the Indonesian-Chinese mothers’ families. The Lunar New Year and Moon Festival are the examples of the preserved traditions within the family. The results of these studies will show how valuable the cultural values and traditions are and this study will give a further comprehension in preserving the cultural values within a family. Key words: Chinese culture, Indonesian-Chinese, multicultural, The Joy Luck Club, Amy Tan  AbstrakThe Joy Luck Club berfokus pada kebudayaan Cina yang terkenal dengan kekayaan nilai luhur serta sejarahnya yang mempengaruhi sejarah dunia. Meskipun masyarakat Cina saat ini banyak yang bertempat tinggal di luar Republik Rakyat Cina (RRC), nilai budaya mereka dapatkan tetap terjaga. Untuk menjaga nilai kebudayaan dan tradisi di dalam keluarga berketurunan Cina, peran seorang ibu sangat dibutuhkan. Akan tetapi, karena sebagian besar keluarga berketurunan Cina tinggal di lingkungan multikultur dengan budaya yang telah terasimilasi—seperti Indonesia—kita tak mengetahui apakah nilai budaya dan tradisi yang telah dijaga tersebut masih bisa dilestarikan atau tidak. Penelitian ini berpusat pada cara para ibu berketurunan Cina mengajarkan nilai budaya Cina serta mencari tahu apa saja nilai kebudayaan Cina serta tradisi yang masih terjaga di dalam keluarga mereka. Para ibu dari novel The Joy Luck Club merepresentasikan peran mereka dalam mengajarkan nilai kebudayaan serta tradisi tersebut. Mereka akan dibandingkan dengan para ibu yang berasal dari dua kota di Indonesia, yaitu kota Tarakan dan Samarinda, sebagai contoh penelitian. Ada beberapa persamaan dan perbedaan yang didapatkan melalui para ibu dari novel dan dari kedua kota di Indonesia dalam mendidik anak-anaknya dengan nilai budaya tersebut. Hal itu tercermin dari cara setiap ibu mengajarkan nilai integritas dan berbakti kepada yang tua dengan cara mereka masing-masing. Ada beberapa nilai budaya dan tradisi Cina yang disebutkan dan masih dilestarikan oleh keluarga besar mereka, baik dari novel maupun dari dalam keluarga para ibu Indonesia-Cina. Perayaan Tahun Baru Imlek dan Sembahyang Bulan adalah beberapa dari sekian banyak tradisi yang masih terjaga di dalam keluarga Indonesia-Cina. Hasil penelitian ini akan menunjukkan betapa berharganya suatu nilai kebudayaan serta tradisi yang dijalankan serta memberikan pemahaman dalam menjaga budaya dan tradisi di dalam sebuah keluarga. Kata kunci: kebudayaan Cina, Indonesia-Cina, multikultur, The Joy Luck Club, Amy Tan

Abstract

The Fourth Industrial Revolution (Industry 4.0) is transforming industries worldwide through advanced technologies such as cyber-physical systems, big data analytics, cloud computing, robotics, 3D printing, and augmented reality. This study examines the relationship between Industry 4.0 adoption, human skill capabilities, and organizational performance. Using quantitative research design and survey-based data collection, the research investigates how technological integration and workforce competencies contribute to business outcomes. Findings reveal that Industry 4.0 technologies significantly enhance organizational performance, particularly in efficiency, productivity, and cost-effectiveness. However, the study also emphasizes that technological advancements alone are insufficient; skilled human capital is critical for effective implementation and management. Competent employees are essential to address challenges, optimize the use of new technologies, and sustain organizational growth. The results highlight the need for organizations to balance investments in technology with workforce development, ensuring employees can adapt to rapid changes in the industrial landscape. This study contributes to both theory and practice by demonstrating that aligning technological progress with human capability development is vital for organizations to enhance performance and maintain competitiveness in the Industry 4.0 era.

Abstract. The Basic Agrarian Law (BAL) in Indonesia serves as the constitutional foundation for ensuring state control over land, water, and natural resources for the collective welfare of its people. However, the growth of capitalism and the free-market system has had a significant impact on land tenure and utilization by corporations in the country. This paper explores the consequences of economic liberalization, the role of foreign investment, and the resulting disparities between large corporations and local communities in land ownership. It also delves into the need for a balanced legal framework that prioritizes social justice, with a focus on equitable land use that benefits both industries and the broader community. The study adopts a socio-legal research approach to comprehend the practical implications of legal systems in society. By highlighting the interconnectedness of land, humanity, and the divine, and emphasizing Pancasila principles, the findings propose strategies to achieve a harmonious balance between corporate interests and community welfare.   Abstrak. Undang-Undang Pokok Agraria di Indonesia memiliki peran penting sebagai landasan konstitusional untuk memastikan penguasaan negara terhadap tanah, air, dan sumber daya alam demi kesejahteraan bersama rakyatnya. Namun, perkembangan kapitalisme dan sistem pasar bebas telah memberikan dampak yang signifikan terhadap penguasaan dan pemanfaatan tanah oleh perusahaan di negara ini. Tulisan ini menjelajahi akibat dari liberalisasi ekonomi, peran investasi asing, serta kesenjangan yang muncul antara perusahaan besar dan komunitas lokal dalam kepemilikan tanah. Selain itu, kami juga akan menggali tentang perlunya kerangka hukum yang seimbang dengan fokus pada keadilan sosial, dan bagaimana pemanfaatan tanah yang adil dapat memberi manfaat bagi baik industri maupun masyarakat luas. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan sosial-legal untuk memahami dampak nyata dari sistem hukum dalam masyarakat. Dengan menyoroti keterkaitan antara tanah, kemanusiaan, dan hal yang Ilahi, serta menekankan prinsip-prinsip Pancasila, penelitian ini akan menyajikan strategi untuk mencapai keseimbangan harmonis antara kepentingan korporasi dan kesejahteraan masyarakat. Abstract

Artikel ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis model pendidikan pesantren dan kontribusinya terhadap pendidikan Islam nasional melalui pendekatan kajian pustaka. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif berbasis studi literatur dengan teknik analisis isi dan analisis tematik terhadap berbagai sumber ilmiah yang relevan, termasuk buku akademik, artikel jurnal, dan dokumen kebijakan pendidikan. Fokus kajian diarahkan pada pemetaan karakteristik model pendidikan pesantren, pola pembelajaran yang dikembangkan, serta relevansinya dalam konteks sistem pendidikan Islam nasional. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa model pendidikan pesantren memiliki karakter integratif yang memadukan aspek kognitif, afektif, dan spiritual dalam satu ekosistem pendidikan berbasis asrama. Sentralitas keteladanan kiai, pembiasaan nilai melalui kehidupan komunal, serta fleksibilitas kurikulum menjadi kekuatan utama pesantren dalam membentuk karakter dan integritas moral peserta didik. Selain itu, pesantren berkontribusi dalam mengintegrasikan ilmu agama dan ilmu umum, memperkuat pendidikan karakter, serta mendukung pengembangan institusi pendidikan Islam formal dalam sistem nasional. Secara konseptual, model pendidikan pesantren dapat dipahami sebagai paradigma pendidikan holistik yang relevan untuk memperkaya pendidikan Islam nasional, terutama dalam menghadapi tantangan globalisasi dan kebutuhan penguatan nilai. Meskipun tidak seluruh elemen strukturalnya dapat direplikasi, prinsip-prinsip dasar pesantren dapat diadaptasi secara selektif untuk mendukung pengembangan sistem pendidikan yang lebih integratif dan berbasis karakter.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the transformation of Indonesian language learning in elementary schools through the integration of 21st-century literacy and digital technology. The study emphasizes the comprehensive development of literacy skills, including reading, writing, critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and communication within a technology-based learning context. A descriptive qualitative method was employed, with data collected through observations, interviews, and analysis of digital learning documents. The sample consisted of fifth- and sixth-grade students from several elementary schools that implement interactive digital media, gamification, and digital storytelling. The results indicate that the integration of digital technology significantly enhances student engagement, learning motivation, and literacy competence. Students become more active in composing texts, understanding language concepts, and applying critical and creative thinking skills. Collaborative activities and technology-based projects strengthen communication, teamwork, and the ability to evaluate peers’ work. Supporting factors include teacher motivation, student readiness, and the availability of digital resources. Challenges such as disparities in digital skills and limited infrastructure can be addressed through teacher training and appropriate pedagogical strategies, leading to more effective, interactive, and sustainable learning.
