Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the Tilāwah method in improving the Qur’an memorization skills of fifth-grade students at MI Muhammadiyah 20 Karangasem Paciran. The Tilāwah method is an approach that combines repeated reading with an emphasis on tajwid, articulation (makhraj), and the use of melody in memorization. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach, utilizing observation, interviews, and documentation as data collection techniques. The findings indicate that the Tilāwah method is systematically applied through classical and individual strategies, supported by reinforcement programs such as the playing of murottal audio and group murāja‘ah (review sessions). Evaluation is conducted through pre-tests, post-tests, and periodic tahfiz examinations. Key supporting factors for successful tahfiz learning include student motivation, parental involvement, and the readiness of instructional tools. Challenges encountered include time constraints, low student concentration, and varying memorization abilities. The study concludes that the Tilāwah method is effective in enhancing the quality of students’ Qur’anic memorization, particularly when supported by a structured learning system and a conducive environment.

Abstract

Human resilience is related to the availability of natural resources, such as water, which is developed through community empowerment and technology. Nganti Village, Bojonegoro is one of the villages that is vulnerable to the availability of clean water for daily consumption. So, this research aims to  (1) analyze the problems and potential of water sources that are not utilized by the Nganti community, (2) analyze community strategies in dealing with water problems, and (3) simulate alternative membrane technology based on community empowerment. This research used a combined approach, quantitative and qualitative, involving key informants, including the Village Head, Head of the Clean Water Association, Ngraho Sub-district Head, and Community Leaders, in addition to a survey of 40 Nganti-Ngraho residents. Data analysis is descriptive statistical and qualitative. The water quality of a spring in Nganti Village shows that the water is not suitable for drinking, washing and latrines (MCK) due to the high content of iron and other metals. Meanwhile, the community's strategy is to use water reservoirs as an alternative water source and introduce membrane technology through community empowerment activities.

Abstract

Biological production of D(-) lactic acid is being advanced as an eco-friendly alternative to petrochemical routes. This study optimizes D(-) lactic-acid production from corn cobs through Multiple-Parallel Fermentation (MPF), which combines a polysaccharide-degrading filamentous fungus with lactic-acid bacteria (LAB) in a single reactor. The novelty of the work lies in deploying a specific consortium of Aspergillus sp. and Leuconostoc mesenteroides for parallel fermentation of corn-cob biomass—a combination not previously reported. Three fungal isolates and three LAB strains were screened to identify the most compatible pairing. Fermentations were run at initial pH 7.0 and 39 °C with substrate concentrations of 3, 5 and 7% w/v. The 7% loading yielded the highest D(-) lactic-acid titer (14.01 % w/v), although differences among treatments were not statistically significant (p > 0.05). One-way ANOVA satisfied normality and homogeneity-of-variance assumptions, and linear regression indicated a moderate relationship between substrate concentration and lactic-acid yield (R² = 0.429). A D/L ratio exceeding 95:5 across all treatments confirmed selective D(-) isomer formation by L. mesenteroides. These results demonstrate the promise of MPF using local lignocellulosic waste as an efficient, sustainable route to D(-) lactic acid.

Abstract

The halalness of animal food products, especially chicken meat, is a central issue in the food industry in Indonesia, where the majority of the population is Muslim. Chicken meat is considered a high-risk commodity among consumer food products. This study aimed to identify and evaluate Halal Risk Points (HRPs) in producing male chicken meat in a medium-scale chicken slaughterhouse in Pasuruan Regency, Indonesia. The method used Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), by assessing three main parameters, namely Severity, Occurrence, and Detection to calculate the Risk Priority Number (RPN) of each potential risk in the halal production chain. The analysis was carried out with reference to the national halal slaughter standard of SNI 99002: 2016. A total of 17 risk factors were identified and analyzed at five main stages of production, from chicken arrival to final packaging. The results showed variations in RPN, ranging from acceptable risk categories to extreme risks. The slaughtering stage was the most critical stage, with three HRPs categorized as high extreme risk, including the slaughterer is not halal certified (RPN = 350), the cutting point is not correct (RPN = 378), and the chicken is not completely dead after slaughter (RPN = 420). These risks were directly related to violations of Sharia principles and require immediate mitigation actions. Other moderate to low risks were found in hot water soaking, offal removal, and product labeling stages. This study confirmed that the FMEA method was effective in systematically identifying halal risks in chicken slaughterhouse operations. The findings provide a strong basis for implementing risk mitigation strategies, such as standardization of procedures, labor certification, and utilization of monitoring technology to strengthen halal assurance and regulatory compliance.
